While Shoemaster is a chain, a shoe store is only as good as the cobbler who mends the footwear. At Kingsway, the couple who work here are so committed to their craft. They're small on words but big on results, and they don't overcharge you. I had a pair of my favourite boots re-zippered here and several pairs of shoes re-heeled. They work quickly and if it's not busy, you can pick up your stuff the same day, or if it's a larger job they get you to come back in a couple of days. Damn you calfs of mine! :-D I knew there was a shoe repair shop in Londonderry Mall (because the boyfriend also had his shoe sole repair once here) so I had stopped by after work today to see if they were able to fix up my boot. The nice lady said yes she could fix it and proceed to tell me what and how she was gonna do it and the price, $7... and she was able to finish it an hour! An awesome price and QUICK too! I was expecting it to take a few days. So picked up my boots a few hours later (had some warrants) and I must say, Awesome Job Shoe Masters! See my photo... I was too iffy to pull the zipper up the whole way, don't wanna rip it again. :-p Would for sure come back for all my shoe repair needs.

I brought in my pair of birkenstock sandals to repair the sole. I was expecting to replace both…read morerubber and cork, the gentleman there said that was "bullshit" no need to replace both he will just fill the cracks and it will be fine. Told me it was $80, and he said it would be ready Monday, perfect! I came in Monday and he did not have them ready because he did not notice that I had a bigger size shoe so he had to charge me more. Told me only $10 more and that was a deal. I hesitated but agreed. When I came back to pick them up the second time they had cracks along the cork bed because he didn't fill them well enough i could feel it when I walked, his solution was add more leather to the cork!! I said that would not work and wanted him to replace the corkbed. He claimed he would have to charge me more for that (even though it was his mistake) and call me Tuesday to let me know how much. I told him he should be replacing for no cost. He again did not call me Tuesday so I called today and he said another $60 for the insoles. I refused so he said I could come get my shoes which were junk now and he would give almost all my money back. Please do not use this man not only did he have crappy service I noticed today he put NON birkenstock soles on my shoes so they are no longer true birkenstock (I didn't authorize the diff rubber)

I brought in a beloved pair of boots here to get a snap repaired…read more The shop it tucked away in a strip mall... with surprisingly difficult to find parking. The man who (I assume) owns the shop is very friendly. There is fast turn-around service (he offered to have the repair done the same day). It's cash-only, pay up-front (ie. before getting the work done), which I found to be kind of odd... but whatever. As for the repair itself... it was an okay job. Not fantastic. The snap is repaired, but it's way too tight and I now have to literally pull at my leather boots to open it (so I'm afraid that'll cause damage). He also took apart a seam to make it a more 'hidden' repair, and sewed it back kind of crooked. It's not something anybody else would notice, but I sure do. So, while I'm very happy to get my beloved boots back in working order... I can't say I'm super impressed at the repair job. I'm not outraged or anything - they aren't worse off - but I won't exactly be going back.

He has a good skill and is a pleasant person to deal with. He can fix a lot of stuff, not shoes only. This new location is easy to reach but it opens until 7pm.
