I recently had a pair of high end leather dress shoes hand made by artisan Le or Moi. I patiently waited for a period of approximately a month, and to my complete joy and surprise, my custom designed three-tone brown leather shoes were the first shoes in my life that fit my ingrown toe nail and bunion infermed two different sized feet. I am seriously considering having another pair made and designed by the residing craftsman of Shoe Master at a very reasonable cost. I had such a great experience here. I brought in one of my favorite purses that needed some detailed strap repair, and I was honestly nervous because it's a special piece. He took one look at it and immediately understood what needed to be done. The work was done carefully and quickly, and the stitching turned out flawless. Good work at a decent price. They charged $15 for new heels on a pair of boots, and $10.00 for new lifts on my mules. I was asked to pay up front. No GST if you pay cash. It's a bit cluttered and disorganised. I was asked to help look for my own boots. Showing my claim ticket did not help. This is by far THE BEST shoe repair place I've been to in Edmonton. Brought in a custom made pair of engineers to get some extra stitching added to the mid strap. He knew exactly what they were, did exactly what I ask for whilst I waited! He did an excellent job, which I was a bit worried about as these were not cheap, and was only going to charge me $10. I said no way, make it $20. He is an actual cobbler and makes his own shoes to boot (pun intended) they look superb. Anyway, a bit of a ramble, but I'd go out of my way to use him for ALL my shoe and boot repair in the future. read more

I had a couple pairs of shoes that needed new bottoms. I didn't want to throw them out because the core of the shoe was still in great shape. Both pairs were $115 after tax to repair. It seemed expensive at first, but it was actually very reasonable considering the initial cost of the shoes (roughly $220 each). I got the shoes back in great shape. Both pairs had new soles and were all shined up. HOWEVER. After roughly a month (and 3-4 uses at most), the soles started coming off. The mid-part of the sole started coming off first. I haven't had a chance to go back and see if they can be repaired again but I'll provide an update when that happens. For now, unfortunately my experience doesn't get a high rating. read more

Where are the good reviews? Let me tell you what I experienced. I walked in with a large soft sided rolling travel bag that needed some stitching repairs. He said 30 minutes. I said I will wait for it. He dealt with a few customers and started right in with my bag. He said only $10. Wow I thought, great deal if his work is any good. It was a large bag and I tried to help maneuver it with him. It was more work than he expected and even broke a needle while working on it. The whole time people kept coming in he would apologize to me to go to service the customers in line. No one was left waiting. Le is a very good and honest man. I offered him more money, as I felt he under charged me. "No," he said "just the $10". Most of the complaints on line are for people who did not get the item on time. I know when he gave the pickup time I'm sure the target was doable, that is until people like me arrive and wait for the item. The problem is he is over worked and wants to please everybody who walks into his shop. I will give Le 5 STARS for quality of work, 5 STARS for customer service and 5 STARS for his pricing. I feel if he raised his price by 10-20% he would get to all the customers who know his value. I give Bonnie Doon ShoeMasters two thumbs up. read more

Very disappointed and dissatisfied with service. The person charges me 35+tax to change a zipper runner as well as mended a pocket in a satchel. My wife picked it up and the zipper is in need of repair. The runner doesn't work. I returned to the guy and now he wants another 45.00 to change the zipper. The irony is that I asked to repair It he quoted me 40. originally but he said it wasn't necessary. He wouldn't offer any goodwill. I went here to get my boots fixed and wanted to get an estimate of how much it would cost. The man quoting me $75 to put the rubber back on the bottom heel of my boots. I told him that was how much paid for them and that it was okay. He then told me I paid at least $200. Lol. Said it was fine I didn't want to put that much money into them, he offered me a "deal" of $70. Thanks but no thanks. To be fair off the get go I ended up going to another shoe repair place and did not get my boots fixed here. So his work could be great. I gave up and was just going to buy more when a friend told me to check out Downtown Shoe Repair, and I'm so happy I did! The fella there ended up charging me $30 for the same pair of boots. Yup. So I took my other two pairs to him as well! Lol. So make the journey across the river and save your money! read more

I went there this morning with a pair of my biker boots. This guy was pleasant and knowledgeable and he assisted me right away. I asked him how long and how much for the repair and he said 30 min and $35 so off I went to walk the mall for half an hour. Sure enough when I went back 35 min later and my boots were ready and shined up real nice too. This is my new shoe repair guy. Hands down the best shoe repair service I've had. read more

Stopped in here earlier today to get new heel ends and soles put on my shoes. Shoe repair is a dying art, so I was excited to find a place similar to the one that was in Southgate Centre that recently closed. I popped in, fully expecting to be picking them up later in the week, and I was 100% okay with that. As long as I had them by Saturday afternoon I was a happy camper! He asked when I needed them by, and I said that I could be around tomorrow if possible, but Saturday was fine as well. He asked if I was shopping at all, and I said we were just going for lunch. He took my shoes, and said to come back when we were finished! $45 and 30 minutes later I was walking out with my shoes done! The rubber looks like it's decent quality on both the heel and the sole, which is nice! They actually look like they have more grip on them than when I originally bought them! Do NOT I repeat DO NOT give your business to this store. You will be treated rudely and get ripped off in the process. Earlier in the week I had a key cut by these guys and it was only $3 flat. Great. Then I went back on the Sunday to get a different key cut. Very carefully showed him on my key ring which key to cut. Well he cut the wrong key. No apology. I got another one cut and double-checked again to see if he got it right. He did BUT he charge me double - once for the good key and also for the useless key which was HIS mistake. He also charged me an extra 90 cents. Which even if you factor in tax is 3 times as much as it should be. It's not the amount of money involved - it's the principal of the thing. Don't go here unless you want to be rudely ripped off. read more
