Wonderful place to find local artisans items, antiques. The setup is individual stalls where you can select jewelry, pottery, Antique home wares, shirts,glass items etc. The list is always changing. This is not a place I would recommend young children should go just because of the setup and number of fragile items here. But, I have never been told they are unwelcome. I stop here every time I'm in Cape May. It is a large refurbished garage with booths of vendors. The vendors range from vintage to clothing to food to jewelry. It is a great place to explore! There's always a treasure waiting to be found. A central check out is located at the front of the door. The staff are very nice. They wrap items in tissue paper. The Beach Plum Cafe is also in the front. Coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches are available. The chai tea was made with a homemade chai syrup. It was very good! And not too sweet. read more

West End Garage came at the recommendation of my parents as a place to check out while in Cape May. My second day here was a washout, so I was looking for an indoor space to explore - this is where West End Garage came in, so I made the short walk over to West Cape May to check it out. WEG is a collective of several shops all under one roof - there are several rooms filled with little cubbies containing merchandise from multiple vendors. The selection is pretty eclectic - art, clothing, grooming, decor, antiques - there's a lot to take in visually. While most of the vendors were new to me, some I recognized from having brick and mortars such as Beach Plum Farm and Cape May Olive Oil. I made a few laps just to be sure I took everything in - you can easily spend an hour or more here exploring. In addition to selling their merch here, the nearby Beach Plum Farm has a cafe set up, which is a nice addition if you're looking for a bite. Overall, it's well worth a stop at West End Garage; even if you're not looking to buy anything, it's a feast for the eyes and a great spot to spend some time. read more

A fantastic collection of all local things "Cape May", just over the border in West Cape May. I came here on the recommendation from an antique shop in Ocean City. They also recommended going to Beach Plum Farm. West End Garage has a bakery outpost from the farm so you can kill two birds. After seeing how awesome this bake shop was, I did make the trip out west, but that's another review. In this one warehouse, you can find everything. T-shirt's, souvenirs, furniture, jewelry, hardware & home decor items, paintings, teas, heirloom seeds, candles, and so much more. You pay at the front according to sticker stating the booth you collected the items from. Theres a clean bathroom, free parking on the street and around the park. Similar to the Washington street mall, except indoors once again you may be a booth away from that unique trinket or gift that you've been looking for. Lots of artists and independent sellers have booths here selling crafts, art, jewelry, clothes, home décor, memorabilia, vintage things, toys and more. Like I say in my Washington Mall review, you may be able to find some real cool things perusing around in here for a little as opposed to going to target, home goods and your local antique store. It seems like also supporting small business, only you could be supporting multiple ones at once if you get items from different booths. The merchants may not be on hand but they leave their cards and sometimes a little about their business within. I suppose if you're an independent seller you could get a space here? All the staff here are pretty nice and will help if asked. They're identify by the tags that say they work there. Literally the tag says "I work here". Makes me wish they had those in my retail days. I always enjoy putting around the garage and looking at all the artisans and vendors. Something for everyone. The people at the front register leave much to be desired by way of friendliness and general good customer service. Also the guy who has the antique jewelry at the front is nice enough but not good at multi tasking when there is more than one customer browsing his stand. It's nice there is a beach plum farm stand in the garage but they need to add brewed iced tea to their menu. It's kinda a basic for any cafe. read more

What a fun place!! We spent hours here and brought home a few hand-crafted treasures. The cafe/bakery made my mouth water. Each booth brought its own delights - nostalgia, laughter, aww's, or even a few EEEWWW's! But all in fun. Prices seemed to be what you would expect for the location - a bit on the higher side - but I do believe the quality is there. I would never ask craftmade items to drop prices, but a lot of the mass-produced things could be lower to equal out the ouch factor. I bought a doorpull today and realized it was the wrong one. I immediately returned to make an exchange. I love that the Beach Plum Cafe is also there and sells La Colombe Coffee, which is one of my favorites. I wish that they were open longer. West End is a must visit when in Cape May! Came back to West End Garage this year- still awesome! I love one of the first stalls- it has tons of pictures. I've been in love with this penguin picture for a year now, but I just can't justify spending $30 on it. But every time I go back I think about purchasing it- maybe I will some day! On my last trip, I found a gorgeous white leather tote bag for $45 and a pair of sunglasses for $12. Some of the stalls are tacky, some are very focused (ex. a stall purely around tea), some are preppy, and some are geared for the much older crowd. Some of the stalls are overpriced, some are cheap- the diversity is all part of the fun! It's a great place to find unique gifts (for other people or yourself!) and interesting things you wouldn't find elsewhere. Plus- free street parking! read more

There are many great things about this bakery! The coffee: talk about hitting the nail on the head!They have nitro cold brew and they have a draft coffee which is milk infused very foamy... mix them together and boom amazing! I will be going back for another one of those for sure The pastries: I am gluten free and my girlfriend is not so I will double attest to the fact that all their pastries were great! Everything is made fresh in shop, no vacuum sealed packaging or things that have been sitting for days. This was a big win Surrounding aesthetics: this place was modern rustic in front of a boutique market. Behind and next to this shop are many small displays of home made art, candles, antiques, clothing and more. What do you like best and what's the most popular and why? They explained with decent detail the coffees and their recommendations... they explained with great detail how they were making that days pastries and how they use personal recipes and such. I was in the West End Garage this weekend 05/19/2023 and was shocked to see how bad the place looked. All the booths were filled with items that look like you could find them on the Wildwood boardwalk or in a trash pile on the curb after a yard sale.The antique furniture was nice. The jewelry that used to be beautiful and unique has turned into cheap modern overpriced stuff. The employees are not helpful at all from the mean women at the checkout to the people walking around on their phones pretending to work there. Who let this happen? It used to be a nice shop to spend time in, now we couldn't wait to leave. I feel as though it has decreased in quality so much in the past year and their prices have gotten out of control as well. read more

If you're looking to totally geek-out and get happily lost in room after room of trinkets, antiques, home decor, unique apparel, bath products, local food products, artwork and beyond, this is the place to do it. I stumbled in on my way home from the beach one day, thinking I would grab a quick gift or two for loved ones back home. An hour later... I had fallen down the rabbit hole and was in a complete browsing blackout. There's just SO MUCH STUFF! And it's mostly really fun and cute. I could do a lot more damage here if I had the time (and money -- it's not inexpensive). The last star fell off my rating because one of the staff members was just a tiny bit rude. Two of the other ones were super helpful, but one lady just left a bad taste in my mouth. I had asked a staff person on the floor if they had a bathroom, and she said "Sure, go to the front cashier and ask for the key." When I did just that, the very stoic woman there bluntly told me the bathroom was out of order, and I could go across the street. I thought that was a little weird -- like, wouldn't all the staff members probably know if the bathroom was broken? Anyway... She was very terse again when I asked her a question about a product. A bad apple didn't spoil the whole review, but a great overall staff would have gotten this place all 5. read more

Didn't realise how large this place was! There are many different stalls and booths for different artists. Some are better than others. Some are also various artists collecting around a theme. I for instance spent a great deal of time in the "'mermaid's garage" one which was beautifully curated. A few were not so nice and looked like stuff you'd find at a flea market. As per usual most things were pricy. There was a gorgeous choker I wanted to buy but on sale it was 75. So instead I bought a nice red statement necklace for 8 and these cool octopus and mermaid earrings for 9 each. They also have stalls from local food places. If you're into honey or peanuts they have plenty to choose from. Including ones made with beer. If you're familiar with artists and fleas in NYC I would def recommend checking this place out. We were on vacation in Cape May and were looking for a nice place to buy some unique things. This place did not disappoint! It's made up of several tiny variant vender stalls made up of artisan items and boutique shops. I bought a beautiful dress from A boutique by "Miss Demeanor." I am obsessed with it. We also checked out the stall ran by Bay Springs Alpaca farm and bought some amazing socks and mittens made up from alpaca yarn. We came back here again because we loved it so much. They even sell estate jewelry from the early 1900s. It was beautiful to look at and buy if you're rich, haha. read more

Great retail concept! I thoroughly enjoyed taking the time to browse through the entire market consisting of 30+ vendor stalls. Many interesting and local finds, including clothing, jewelry, scarves, throws and other accessories, artwork, home goods, etc. I picked up numerous unique pieces that I absolutely love. Air conditioned so you can browse in comfort and spacious enough that you can spend a good enough amount of time reviewing the merchandise without bumping into fellow shoppers. I don't hand out 5-star reviews like breath mints at an Indian Resturaunt, but the West End Garage surely deserves one. Situated in an old car dealership, the new incarnation involves stall after stall of artisan goods, ranging from photography to home-made furniture to jewelry (lots of it) to antiques/collectables to women's clothing to soaps to pet novelties to a dark chocolate bbq bacon candy bar to....well, can't top that. Each stall belongs to a different seller/artist, so there is no shortage of variety or styles...probably 40 stalls total. My wife took her birthday money and had a hay day...and came back later in the afternoon for a second hay day! Of all the neat stores Cape May has to offer, this tops the list. read more

I really like the West End Garage. Whenever I'm looking for a really unique gift I head there and am never disappointed. Love the new layout and coffee shop/bakery next door. I was unhappy with the service at the checkout counter last weekend. A gaggle of well dressed ladies were falling over each other to help an older gentleman behind the counter with a mess of keys. I waited patiently for someone to acknowledge me and my armful of purchases. I finally had to ask if anyone of the four ladies could help me. When I was finally waited on it was with negative attitude and not one thank you. Hmmmm. Someone needs a customer service refresher. read more
