I was disappointed the jewelry wasn't on sale as last year I bought several unique pieces. I tend to go crazy for 50% off. The children's clothes are precious and there is lots of little kid kitsch. The store was very busy with shoppers during this visit. I spent $100 on misc items. There are lots of quality beachwear items and gift wares as well. I enjoy this shop and the proprietor, whose choice of goods and prices is very favorable. Sadly I got spoiled by last year's end of season sale prices. However my credit card was happy.

This is my second year visiting Boutique at the Beach and while last year I found many more items…read moreto purchase, as did my mom, I was still happy with what I found. I spent about $180 on 4 sale bras, a camisole, a leather fall top, and a pair of casual summer pants in a funky print. The bras I purchased last year, also on sale, have become my favorites so I was looking to add more. At this time of year all the jewelry is 50% off as are many other items. They carry some new fall and winter items as well as plenty of after season summer outfits, from mix and match from an Italian company, to mother/daughter bathing suits, short shorts and long trendy jeans. I visited California this summer and many of the items have a distinctly California coast vibe to them. One lady was shopping for a long dress and she looked good in at least two of the ones she modelled, all on sale for 50% off. Last year my mom purchased a number of the Italian one size outfits and was looking to add pieces to them, but the sizing this year was smaller than last year. The proprietor told us many people had trouble with the sizing this year which may account for why she had more left than one would want end of season. I find the items to be affordable for a bit higher end beach wear especially at off season. The proprietor knows her merchandise and is very helpful with questions about fit and quality. I know all of the items I purchased last year became wardrobe favorites, and I was slightly disappointed not to find the same number items I really wanted to take home. Never the less we may make one more stop before the week is out. I would say the clothing and accessories are mid priced for a beach town, different than you find in other stores, a bit beach trendy and would appeal to a mature buyer for some items and a younger buyer interested in California style beach wear. Let me say it is further up 3rd Ave than most of the shops so you can miss it, but there is convenient parking and worth a visit if you are shopping in the area.

Boutique at the Beach has some of the most adorable CA style clothing I have come across outside of CA. And the prices? They are extremely reasonable. I purchased 14 items on my first shopping trip there- I couldn't stop! I will definitely be a frequent customer and stop by often to make some additions to my wardrobe! Thanks for such a cute shop!

Equally unique as the almost black sided exterior is the warm and rich wood tones of the interior. A lot of stores on the pedestrian-friendly Washington Street Mall blur together in my head but this shop was very memorable. Aside from the fabulous exterior and interior, I really liked the staff! They were welcoming and friendly, very laid back and conversational but not over-bearing or pushy. That is totally the way to do it. Kinda like you're just having conversation at a cocktail party. A lot of the merchandise sold at Quirk & Co is made by local artisans and other merchandise is proudly made in the USA. They have an awesome collection of candles, jewelry, scarves, tote bags, mugs, pillows and such. I also think I saw some cool vintage painted furniture. I walked in with my rambunctious 2 yr old and the owner was so nice. She tried to keep my daughter occupied while I shopped, letting her try on backpacks and play with toys. It has a unique selection of merchandise. The other children's boutique in the area, Lynn Arden, carries very traditional baby wear. This place has a lot of organic and definitely "funkier" clothes. They carry stuff that is made with organic materials and also locally made goods. I will be sure to return next time I am in the area.
