Unfortunately, I was calling right before spring break, so I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get in... but they also put me on the cancellation list and I was able to get in a little sooner than expected. I love everything about this office. The front end staff are incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is really warm and welcoming. I love the water feature in the waiting room... it's very calming. Sadly for me, it has been a couple of years since I've been to the dentist. After a bad experience with the last office, I just couldn't bring myself to go. Neither the dentist or the hygienist made me feel bad for not going in. In fact, the hygienist (who was very careful to remain professional and not bad mouth another dentist office) said she can actually understand why I was hesitant to go back. Anyway... all the staff were very respectful and made me genuinely want to go back to the dentist. The hygienist (Jodi - she's lovely) froze my mouth for the cleaning because I had a major amount of sensitivity and was having a hard time with the pain. She also split it up into two visits so it wasn't so daunting all at once. It was a great experience, and I'll be back!

Dr. Mueller dropped in on a recent Hygiene appointment with Vivian who continues to provide me with up to date education on oral care. Dr. Mueller recommended repair of a number of teeth on my lower jaw that had become eroded and cracked over a period of decades. I booked an appointment and was pleasantly surprised that the repair was completed in less that an hour without local anesthetic. Basically a bit of tooth preparation proceeded application of an epoxy that dried in a matter of minutes. Following testing to ensure proper bite and polishing the procedure was done. I regret that I had not done this procedure years prior as I no longer feel the rough edges of the teeth that had eroded. Dr. Mueller had a chuckle when I confused him(he was wearing a mask and cap) with his son. I was also very impressed with Dr. Muellers' text to me the next day to check if any problems had occurred as a result of the procedure. Thanks to the Dental Center I continue to enjoy the benefits of a high level of oral health.

PLEASE READ BEFOREHAND IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY THINKING ABOUT JOINING THIS DENTAL OFFICE…read moreWhen I first started going here I had family members making appointments then missing them, so using basic problem solving skills I called st. Albert Dental and asked that any appointment that need to be booked please call me and tell me for who, when and the amount. That seems like a simple request honestly, but in 1.5 year going there this was NEVER done, but oddly I could be contacted afterwards to pay. I called and emailed numerous times please please talk to me first (not everything dental is necessary to do right then, some things can wait for extra health spending account to restart, etc), but I had never been contacted about it. Literally 4 or more people at the front desk so short staffed isn't an issue. Fast forward to April and May this year and not shockingly more unauthorized services were made. I asked them who made them and why I wasn't contacted and I was told they aren't sure but it could have been my daughter (who is a minor, but again it shouldn't matter because it is their duty to contact me beforehand for appointments). Super super disorganized and lacking basic communication skills. Now I have opened a complaint for unauthorized charges to my blue cross due to them. This is the first time I have ever seen a dental office that does whatever they want and thinks they never have to speak to the person beforehand. Avoid this disorganized place who can only communicate when they want a bill paid and lets minors authorize dental work. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: On August 16, 2024 I received a notice from collections, I sent them the note below as well as 5 screenshots of me asking to PLEASE PLEASE call or email me beforehand with WHAT WORK IS REQUIRED, and PRICE. Something that was never done despite me calling again and again requesting it. (note they blamed other people despite me asking them to contact me directly) UPDATE 2: A few days later I was called (what a novel idea) and Nikki left me a voicemail stating they have accepted some responsibility, but wanted me to accept some too (oddly I am the one that called after every appointment requesting they contact me beforehand with all the information and I was told "next time"). Nikki stated she wanted me to cover some of the bill because the collections agency requires 30-40% of the bill (apparently it is my job to pay collections agency they sent for me as well). Nikki then brought up how I unsubscribed from their texts (yes, their automated texts which don't give me any information as to the cost and what is being done. If these texts are sufficient in their eyes for what I requested, they should all be laid off and their jobs can be replaced by AI and the savings can be passed along to customers by charging lower than the ADA guidelines and not higher like this Dental office does). She also requested that I remove my "very detailed 1 star review from Google" (That's called censorship and it isn't happening. This is just blackmail because they don't want their horrible communication skills shown). She also mentioned that she has a contract I signed stating that if insurance doesn't pay for it, then I have to (yes, this is the same as any contract. If a business completes an agreed upon service, then it is their job to pay for it. This is not authorization for a business to continue to do an infinite amount of work and not bother to contact the person before the work is completed. A dental office is no different.) VOICEMAIL cannot be attached here Update 3: I told the collections agency I will not be paying as it is unauthorized but obviously only caring about the business paying them, they sent it to my credit bureau. But I will be filing a complaint to Equifax/TransUnion. I won't be removing this review because people need to know the horrible practices of this company (I am saving you thousands of $). Something I have never experienced at a Dental office before. Update: I spoke to collections and he asked for proof to authorization on Sept 23. Today Oct 3 they responded (screenshot #6) and i responded to him (screenshot #7).

They…read morehave a strong focus on preventative and painless dentistry, and I can't say enough about how excellent the support staff are. They handle all the claims and time the visits expertly with a smile and great attention to detail. I have a lot of stories to tell about this place -- how my husband's terror of dentistry has been hugely diminished, for instance -- or how friendly everyone has been to our son as he's grown up. I consider it a job well done that at 22, he books appointments for every six months and has zero apprehension about having anything done. This is an attitude that will serve him well his whole life, and it doesn't develop without a lot of pleasant dental visits. I often find myself wishing that the way this office handles patients were what we could expect in all other health care encounters; if it were, we'd have much better population health. This practice also buys equipment that enables them to make dental prosthetics like bruxism splints, which means you can purchase them directly at lower cost. After grinding through several of the softer splints, I purchased an acrylic splint that has served me for several years now. Special props to Helen the hygienist, who is so gentle and kind that I literally envy her children for having her as a parent. And also of course to Dr. Carlos Patrickson, who started this practice and served as an Army dentist before marrying and raising a large family. You can trust him and all the staff with everything from cleanings and checkups to complex procedures and surgeries. Go to Cloud Nine... you have nothing to lose but your fear!

It seems there was some confusion regarding this matter I had heard from the reception desk it was covered as well others within the office had heard this , but to my surprise I was sent a bill and when I called I was told this work was not covered because it was coded as cosmetic not necessary . Well the filling was 40 years old and certainly gave me some troubles otherwise I would not be in the dental chair, now a more experienced dentist would have realized this and the coding would have been different but not so in this case. Now after much discussion with a variety of individuals other dentist included , I felt that a fair solution to this would be to share the cost , this seems to be a solution that has a good outcome for all and was recommended by others. But much to my dismay Dr Carlos refused that solution as a result I feel he is not interested in any long term patients but is only after following financial rewards, this philosophy is not one that instills confidence especially in any health service profession

After the procedure, I kept going back because something clearly wasn't right. Instead of addressing the problem, they repeatedly prescribed antibiotics and insisted nothing was wrong. Over time, I saw multiple dentists trying to get answers, but no one wanted to take responsibility or properly investigate. (created a ton of fear) I was essentially passed from one office to another with no resolution. Nearly nine years later, I finally found a dentist who took my concerns seriously and referred me to an endodontist. The specialist confirmed that the original root canal had failed they missed a canal. It had been overfilled, which caused a pocket in my jaw that repeatedly became infected. For years, I was dealing with chronic infections, with my mouth flaring up every month or so, and no one acknowledging the real cause. The dentist who performed the procedure claimed to be a specialist, but based on the outcome, the quality of work was unacceptable. This wasn't just a minor issue--it led to long-term damage and significant health complications. I've dealt with chronic inflammation, recurring infections, and even hospital visits due to blood infections that were never properly traced back to the source at the time. I paid for professional care and trusted this office, and after 4 hours in a chair and thousands later in return, I was left dealing with the consequences of a failed procedure that no one would take responsibility for. It took nearly a decade to finally get a clear diagnosis and validation of what I had been experiencing the entire time.(keep in mind I couldn't live on antibiotics either so no medication to heal it or prevent infection or I'd end up immune to them if I did) I would strongly caution others to seek second opinions and ensure they are getting proper care, because my experience here resulted in years of unnecessary pain and avoidable health issues. Also fun fact for anybody getting work done anywhere, did you know your body suffering with constant inflammation and infection, like from failed dental work, ya it could cause blood sugar issues.... The more you know.

I've gone to Albany Dental for years before this & loved the level of service, BUT this past month…read morethey flushed that all down the drain. I went in for a night guard at the end of Aug. 1 nightguard. It took until the end of Sept and 6 appointments for them to get it right. They blamed it on the company that makes the guards & they blamed it on miscommunication. Yet, in the middle of covid they had me come back 4 more times than I should've had to. First it didn't fit, then they'd done the wrong impressions & needed more new ones, then they had the wrong one made (I only needed one for my lower jaw yet they made one for the upper for some reason). It was like the case that never ends. Then, when they had the upper nightguard instead of the lower, Dr. Nanji came in to "apologize". Not a great apology to say that the $5 Starbucks gift cards I had been getting since after the first screwup/second appointment were "the least I can do" but that she hoped I could forgive them & continue coming back. And maybe I would have if this story ended here. While she's apologizing, she tells me that she'll work with the office manager to give me some money back on the nightguard, which would go back into my benefits. The trouble with that was that I no longer had access to my benefits, not since just before the 4th appointment. She did not believe me and was quite condescending as she asked me why I didn't. You have screwed up something that should've only taken 2 appointments/just over a week according to what I was told in the initial appointment, how dare you treat me like I'm lying. Then, I leave the office with an appointment to come back the next week and multiple promises that it would finally be the one when I would finally have a nightguard. I get a call from the office manager, Linda, a few hours later. She tells me that my stuff will go through her now, that she's very sorry it took this many appointments, etc. She then tells me she'll give me $150 office credit AND $100 gift card of my choice. I confirmed with her that I would be getting BOTH office credit AND a gift card, to which she said yes and RECONFIRMED. The 6th appointment did end with me FINALLY having a nightguard (the correct one & it fit!). As I left the office, I checked with the ladies up front for my compensation as promised by Linda only to be informed that no one had told them about any gift card but that there was $150 office credit on my file. The ladies at the front desk tell me that they'll have Linda call me to sort it out since everything goes through her now. A few hours later, she calls me. On an unknown number. Why would I answer an unknown number, when we live in the age of spam/robo calls? She then has the audacity to try to gaslight me about our previous phone call by telling me that what she had offered was the office credit OR the gift cards. That there must have been some miscommunication. This whole situation is one "miscommunication" after another, you'd think they'd learn after the first couple times. After this whole situation going on for more than a month, she made it worse by trying to trick me about what I know I remember & what she confirmed with me. She tried to twist it as me telling her that I didn't want a gift card because it would be of no use to me (uhm in what world would a gift card of my choice not be useful). At this point I was absolutely done with the whole thing. I told her that I would much rather have a gift card, to which she agreed - and I did actually get it! As stated above, I might have forgiven them & come back if it wasn't for the continued bad treatment. Then the only thing that I would be coming back for was to use the credit they had given. Now, after all of this, after Linda tried to gaslight me, I don't ever want to go back. Their treatment of me this past month was ridiculous & their half-baked apologies continued to make it worse. Thank you, Albany Dental, for wasting my time and for putting me & everyone I interacted with more at risk for covid.
