I was left waiting in my hot car. I waited for well over an hour,for the staff to let me know I could come in, after sending me a message to wait for them to let me know when the room was ready. I watched the staff throw out garbage and leave for the day. There was no communication from the staff about the delay. When I text as well as called the office leaving a message, it was ignored. I left a message for the dentist to call me back with an explanation, it was also ignored. Not only did I not receive the service, I am out of half a days wage. This is not the first time Dr Baines has left the office when I had an appointment. Last time was her sons graduation. I'm guessing she knew well in advance her son was graduating and could have rescheduled my appointment. My time is valuable, and it's disheartening to see a Dental office that doesn't respect that. I won't be returning and cannot recommend this practice to anyone who values good service.

The fact that I had just gotten paid was the only reason I could afford to pay them, since you know, I'm a student aka poor! Though the receptionist told me my insurance cheque would take no longer than a week (its been 9 days now...) The first appt was ok, Dr. Sekhon seemed very knowledgeable and actually went through all my xrays with me. Turns out I apparently need a crown (EEK!-$$$) after I have my wisdom teeth removed. (OUCH+$$$). My second appt was just a cleaning, the hygienist seemed very knowledgeable as well, and thorough. She was also very nice. The service was good for the most part, however I have literally been sick to my stomach, not knowing whether or not I'll be able to pay my rent on time because of 2 dentist appts. Unfortunately for this reason I will be switching dentists, there is no way I can afford to be paying $450 up front for each appt, and then $1800 for a crown. I really don't understand why all places can't do direct billing.

At Allure in Lewis Estates, the dentist and his assistant always make sure i'm comfortable, they ask me to raise my hand if they are causing me any pain at all...I feel safe. They are quick to get the job done, and responsive if I feel any pain so they slow down and make the experience easier on me. Last appointment i got lots of teeth problems fixed in an hour. Minimal pain-all due to my toothache (the reason i rushed over there!) I trust this dentist with my teeth. I look forward to going back next time.

The only thing I could complain about is you have to pay upfront and then wait to be reimbursed by your insurance company. To give you an example of how awesome of a dentist he is, about 3 years ago I had just started a new job and my benefits hadn't kicked in yet. I had an infected wisdom tooth that needed to be removed. When I went to pay the bill, I realized he had charged me peanuts for the procedure. It was extremely kind of him. I was sitting in the waiting room in view of the office, and I just about yanked my kid out of the chair and told the dentist to watch his temper. Instead they called me in, suggested I sedate him, and instead pumped him full of nitrous, which substantially upped my bill. He was too rough with my 50-something year old teeth, and I was seriously concerned he would loosen a crown I'd had over a root canal. I chose regular braces over Invisalign because the amount of coffee and noshing that I do wouldn't have made it feasible. When I moved to the west side, I was lucky enough to begin coming to this clinic instead, and have been SO happy I did! Dr. P is hilarious. Should have been an actor. A complete character, but also very caring and professional. Not long into my treatment, I received a cancer diagnosis, and asked to speak to him privately about my care, because I was terrified and had no idea how to proceed. He took the time to tell me everything would be fine-- they could treat me in a private room, and they'd take every safety precaution they could. Fast forward a few months, I'm cancer free, and am nearing the end of the treatment (I know he's getting tired of me asking when these things can come off. LOL). He really has taken the trouble to get to know me, and I can't WAIT to see what my new smile looks like...hopefully around February.
