I made the best decision by having my children enroll! You get your moneys worth! I love the hours, and flexibility they offer. We can go up to 3x a week isn't that awesome? It sure is for us! Background - It was happenstance that we came across WCWMA-Campbell. At the time, our young son's Southwest YMCA summer camp was to go to a martial arts business across the street from WCWMA-Campbell. However, there was some scheduling conflict between the YMCA people and the studio across the street. The summer camp instructors noticed WCWMA-Campbell across the street and decided to inquire about availability. Luckily, WCWMA-Campbell was able to take the kids. The little ones started working toward earning their white belt in a ceremony at the end of the week. Our son liked the experience, so we asked him if he wanted to continue. He said, "Yes," so we signed him up. Our son went on to earn a 2nd-Degree Black Belt. Along the way, my wonderful wife decided she would like to start taking classes, too. All this place and the instructors here seem to push you to sign up after the 10day trial rather than asking how your child is doing or enjoying the class. We only came to 4 classes, there are multiple classes going on, and they seem to only spend 15mins on karate moves and the classes were the same each time. So for being monogamous and pushy to sign up, I decided not to enroll my child. I can already see my child getting bored. read more

My almost 6 year old daughter started here on a special $49 for 6 weeks and you could go to 2-3 classes per week, gear included. It was almost too good to be true! I heard about it through a friend and her daughter was loving it, so I signed up my daughter right away. She had a blast! The instructors are amazing and so great with the kids. I agree with the goals and values they want to instill in the students as well. My daughter's 6 week trial is up tomorrow and in order to renew I have to pay $175 a month and buy a $30 patch for her uniform. Not only that, you have to pay for 6 months up front! How can the price over triple!? Of course now my daughter is hooked and loves it but I can't afford that, I don't think most people in this area can. Now she she has a broken heart because she really loved karate class here. I can't help but feel misled, I know that they did nothing wrong but I feel like the prices were so extreme. Super cheap and then super expensive for the exact same classes and instructors. When I started her there I made the wrong assumption that is would be affordable and didn't find out until much later that I was very much mistaken. Anyway, I really do love this place and so did my daughter but it is just too expensive. That is the literal only reason for 4 stars vs 5. read more

I had 2 kids go there. Unless you are prepared to spend $20k don't sent your kids there. They promise 3 years for black belt. Once 4 years pass they let your kids test for black belt for $700 additional (each). Once the kids passed Black belt they make them do additional 6 months to prove that they are worthy of black belt. They never mentioned that in the beginning. Let me remind you. Each month is $250 minimum per kid. I had 2 kids in the program and it would have cost me additional $3000 just to confirm black belts they already earned. They don't even want to give you Black Belts you paid for. They won't give you promised embroidered Black Belts that you paid for. Oh yeah almost forgot... they have to celebrate birthday of Ernie Reyes each year and pay money to do so. They charge for every testing. They make you go to tournaments and charge for it monthly. If you can't go to tournaments you have to call off Wedding, Sickness and everything else on that weekend, because they threaten that your kids will be kicked out of black belt program. There is a fee for everything. Greedy people in the corporate world. Stay away from these people. Instructors are less than they seem and Margie is fake as is the whole setup. Some instructors are cool but everything is fake and about money. Kelly is the worst. She is responsible for payments and she will suck you dry. She charges your credit card even when she is not supposed to. BTW, one of my kids scored best in Black Belt testing within Utah, Arizona, California, Texas, etc. and they still didn't want to give them embroidered black belt, because they didn't stay additional 6 months. Do your research and talk to some exhausted parents before you decide. read more

Our daughter started her martial arts journey as a little dragon with the Campbell team at the height of the pandemic in 2020. Even when classes were on zoom at the time, the instructors were so engaging and outreaching to the kids. Once classes were back in person, our daughter wanted to continue to come here for her training due to the amazing head instructors KJNs Daniel, Joao, and Hector! The instructors truly make the classes fun, engaging and entertaining for the kids. More importantly, the instructors instill a growth mindset and encourages students to be their best potential. They want the best for the students and build them up physically and mentally. This is truly her martial arts tribe. The relationships and comradery that she has built here over the past 4 years is the reason why she continues to come here for training. There are numerous martial arts schools in our area, but we choose to drive 30-45 minutes each way for her martial arts training. My son who is 7, started here a couple months ago; An we love it! I like how you can chose what day you want to come during the week and the amount of times you can come. Actually kinda horrible, commercialized, and expensive. They teach "discipline" yet you pay your way up to each belt. My daughter just had a party here with about 25 kids, I was so impressed with this place. It is huge and full of an array of fun things for the kids to do. It also felt very clean. The 3 instructors there were very kind and welcoming. My daughter whom is usually a bit shy warmed up to them and all of the games and activities right away. I was amazed at how the head instructor memorized 25 kids names after just minutes. The kids had a ball for 2 hours, playing games, learning karate and running an obstacle course. At the end they gave us a pinata and then we had a nice sized room to enjoy our lunch and cupcakes. I recommend checking this place out it is pretty amazing! read more

The positives It is clean, it is fun for kids, entry is $19.00 first month. Some of the Instructors are good. Negatives: No personal service once you have paid and are auto deduct. Must commit to 6 month membership of minimum $139 a month even if the dojo does not work out for you. Pass every kid to next belt regardless of if they know the moves and can execute moves with any mastery or form. Surly front desk staff who are ignorant of class times, or any useful information a parent may need. All inquiries have to go through one manager who does not respond unless she is getting money from you. Class times that interfere with parent work hours and are inconsistent through the week. IE: 5:30 TO 6:15 Monday and Wednesday 5:00 to 5:45 Tuesday to Thursday No class Friday 10 to 10:45 am Saturday. Belt tests with 2 day warning at completely different time usually during Parent work hours. And an extra fee not disclosed in advance.. tons of little extra fees. Hard sales pitch which includes a "free private lesson" where your child is outfitted with a gi and is shown moves by an instructor, and your child begs to sign up while the manager tells you that this is limited time and touts benefits of martial arts. Mainly just the feeling of lack of caring and lack of competency the student receives. Pulled my child out at the end of 6 months minimum commitment period to find out if this dojo works for you is $755.00 and no true competency in the end. read more

I second everything that Razz and Craig said. On top of that, when you're in training in order to even apply for getting a black belt, they force you to sign a contract to help out teaching FOR FREE. They say this is supposed to help with discipline, however the way they nickel and dime you for everything I don't see it as that. I see it for exactly what it is, free workers, in which most of them are in high school. It's no different than running an illegal sweatshop. Also, if you're on the West Coast team, you have to pay to practice. The practice is always for some type of promotional thing they're doing. Such as performing at a school to get more students, etc. As for the staff: Ernie is arrogant, in the five years that I was there I never once saw his wife smile at anyone. In fact she did just the opposite, she'd glare at you when shed walk by. This is very uncomfortable when you're there with you 5 year old, and not only are you paying a lot of money to be there, but a several degree black belt is giving you the staredown. The women who work at the desk are miserable and love exercise using their power. They treat the people who are paying to be there inhumane and act very irritated if you have any questions. Bottom line: if you're going to spend a lot of money, spend it somewhere that you're actually valued as a member. You will never be appreciated as a paying customer, they see it as doing you a favor that they actually allow you to pay to walk through the front door. There are some pros and cons to almost all of them: Pros: clean facility, fun for kids, family friendly, good for learning performance type martial arts Cons: not a good place to learn self defense, low standards, high student to teacher ratio. If you want to learn practical stuff... This is not the place for you. If you want to be entertained and have a sense of accomplishment... this place can make you feel good... Since getting a black belt is easy there. Problem is... It's often a false confidence... Cause most of their blackbelts suck. Two stars because I've found better places as well as worse. read more

The coaches in the class are extremely energetic with positive attitude which I have never seen anywhere.. They impose positive attitude and good behaviors to kids along with Martial Arts.
