First off, this place is not stroller friendly as there are steps just to get in. Once you're in, only the cash register and a few racks/shelf are on the same level. You have to go upstairs to see the cribs. You go down some stairs to look at clothes, some gear, bassinets, etc. Then at the back, you go down some more stairs to see the strollers, car seat, gates and eating utensils. The parking is the worse as you drive in and it's angle parking. The spots are tight and the only way to exit is to back out of the spot and hope that no one parks in the area by the store entrance. If there is a car in that area, then you would have to back onto Bridgeport Road, which is a blind spot since there is a fence/shrub in the way which is dangerous. They should block of the area ( front and west of the entrance ) so that people can back into that area and turn around. When I went, the staff was helpful and it was busy there. I was looking for some items where it said online that it was available. The staff checked and found the items I wanted, but did mention that it was the last ones. They have lots of good items for your baby's needs from bottles, strollers, cribs, bassinet, lots of clothing, etc. The return policy is the usual one, where it's 14 days for refund with receipt, 30 days for store credit/exchange and receipt. You will need your receipt or there's no refund/credit. I really hope that whomever owns this location, would decide to lease the empty big box store in the strip mall beside them. I think that empty store used to be some furniture store. It would be so much better as the parking lot of that strip mall is huge, the empty store is ground level so you can use your stroller and it looks like it can fit all the items in the store and more. read more

Went to do some early Black Friday shopping today and I have to say I'm really impressed with the parking space available as compared to the Main location. (Why don't I come to this location more?!) With COVID precaution in place they have a virtual line up system where you can hold your spot in line to enter the store while you wait in the car to help minimize the number of people in the store at once. I only had to wait about 5-10 mins before I got notified that it was my turn to enter. Upon entering there were store representatives available to assist. To sum up my trip today I was in and out within 20 mins for an exchange and purchase. By the end of my transaction my item was already waiting outside with another representative ready to be loaded into my car. read more

This store. Is breathtaking. It's two floors Upstairs lines along one wall just stunning cribs and gliders are so comfy hahaha. The stroller car seat area is impeccably tidy and all the strollers are straight and nicely arranged. Stoppable space for test driving them. I'm really amazed is how the stroller colors are also showcased. So that shoppers can see the color of the stroller they want. As we all know. Swatches don't always capture the same shade perfectly. Not a huge deal. But still. I saw the babocush today. I knew of this several years ago. I never seen one. In person. But. Today. I saw it. And. It was mounted to the top of a mamaroo bounce omg!!! I had no idea you could do that. How neat. There was also a interesting swiveling crib with swaddle at the front of the store which was quite unique. They have every color under the sun for hair accessories and I gotta say. Kids lose clips all the time and these things sell like hot potatoes hahaha. They have a fantastic selection of shoes boots and even hand knitted shoes for babies Clothing section. Some of those tops was to die for. I saw a pizza t shirt. Omg. My friend would like that for her son. Need to find out what size he's in now though. The online photos doesn't do this store justice. It really doesn't. You should definitely go in for a browse. Reading other reviews, I am honestly so surprised as I love this store and the staff. I am going to be a father for the first time in a few months, and this store's customer service has been nothing short of amazing for my wife and I. We recently purchased a dresser from this location after scouring baby stores for one that we truly wanted. The dresser we decided on showed up as being in stock at this location, but just needed to be located in the warehouse. Since we don't have a large enough vehicle, we rented a van and returned the next day. We called ahead to let the store know we would come to pick up the dresser, but it turned out that there was an inventory error, and the dresser was not actually in stock. The manager Paige was so great, and did everything she could to make sure our time had not been wasted that day. She also personally made sure that our dresser was reordered and checked in with us the entire time. As for the rest of the staff, I have had multiple positive experiences. They have taught us how to use our car seat, showed us great local brands, and taught us how to use a carrier. Yes this store can seem pretty pricey, but the prices are comparable to other baby shops. I personally am okay with my money going to a great Canadian company that highlights quality products like Westcoast Kids does. My only wish would be for a more lenient return policy in case I don't end up using something, but to be honest, I haven't run into a subpar product yet at this store. read more

There is always lots of staff on. None of them ever seem willing to help you. The ladies who work the stroller/high chair section are so so rude. There are plenty of stairs, so if you have a baby and would like to come shop, just be prepared and bring a carrier or carry your infant in your arms. The staff were quite helpful and were able to guide us on purchases for strollers, car-seats and cribs. - not enough parking space - baby registry & associated completion program is nice - their online ordering and registry system is above average - Prices are fair (some higher-priced, some have deals) for a specialty store carrying specialty items. Some of the furniture lines in particular are reaaally overpriced, but that's the baby-industry for you. I have to call attention to their warehouse and backroom. We ordered a glider from them, only to have it arrive in a basically broken/repaired box. This is new (not-floor-model) product that they expect people to be willing to take in. WestCoastKids informed us that they have to stack product on top of each other because of the size, resulting in those types of damages. Funny, because Home Depot, Sears, The Brick, or TJsKids don't seem to have those issues with large heavy items like chairs/recliners. We've had numerous friends all have the same story about damaged or badly-shipped/badly-handled product when dealing with them. This is not a black mark on the staff, as they are doing everything they can do educate us, but the company as a whole really needs to invest more in it's supply-chain and warehouse inventory management. I'd recommend WestCoastKids with extreme hesitation for specialty items, and certainly push friends/family away from anything large (ie. stroller, crib, furniture, gliders). Once inside there were 2 extremely rude women working who literally FOLLOWED me around like a criminal. Pros and cons. Pro - they've got some really cute stuff made by local Vancouver small shops that you can't find at some of the other big-name baby stores. Con - customer service is terrrrrrrible. Especially at the Main Street location! One example - I called ahead to ask the girl to put aside the car seat I needed, and specified the model - clarified NOT the more expensive version. I checked with her at least three times while at the store (you have to buy it sight unseen, and then they send you around to the back to pick it up). You're sure it's not the Lido model? Yes. I am sure. Stop asking, gosh. Sure enough, when the receipt was printed...it was for the more expensive version. Come on. You had one job. NOTE - I had absolutely phenomenal service from Azima at the Richmond location. Horray! Customer service would be 4 stars for me. An employee won't walk by you without seeing if you've been helped, it's really great. Especially with baby stuff, as we often have no idea how to choose between all of the options etc. Product wise, they're probably really about 2 or 3 stars. They have some really, really nice stuff, but for bigger things, they don't actually carry everything, so you often have to make special orders (when this happens, we just go through amazon and save a bunch of money and usually get it faster- sorry WCkids). Another example of this is that when we went to buy a bassinet, we would have had to take one of the floor models, which grossed me out a bit, so we went elsewhere for that. My husband bought a $19 guzzie + guss cupholder about a month and half ago. I received another cupholder as a gift thats for our uppababy cruz stroller (bought from there) a few days later which i liked better. I went in the store and talked to somebody at the cashier to exchange the item without the receipt. She then told me that I CAN EXCHANGE the item and that it shouldn't be a problem. So I went around the store and picked out a few stuff. To make the story short, i was going to leave the store with almost $100 worth of merchandise (uppababy snack tray, whole body bib). But as I was paying, the lady thats on the cashier when i walked in is not there anymore and was replaced by SANDRA which was so unapproachable and didn't even acknowledge my presence as i came to the till. I told her the situation and she immediately said NO and that its a store policy etc. etc. I then told her what was told and that her colleague told me a different answer otherwise. She then told me that "Well, I AM THE MANAGER and NO I cant do anything about it unless you provide me with a receipt!". I then paid for the items that I purchased and was handed the bag. No word exchange between us (so much for customer is always right so maybe you should thank me anyway since i just paid and bought stuff even if I was unhappy with the service). Walking in the car I had that feeling of annoyance of how I have been treated. So I went back inside and return everything that i bought. In a business point of view, I did not understand why the store would care so much over a receipt. The packaging of what i was returning was intact with the barcode and price tag attached. And I was purchasing something thats 5x more expensive than what I was returning. And as the so called MANAGER I am pretty sure that she could have done something. And also, you should train your employee to not tell customer one thing and other say another. You should be in the same page and your story straight! The most terrible store I have ever been! My husband brought a nail cut after tax is over $60! Then I went to return on same day. But the sales didn't return it for me because the box was opened. We didn't expect much from the store before visiting them. All we wanted was to test drive the 2 strollers that we're deciding between. To our surprise, the sales staff was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. I'm one of those guys who researches EVERYTHING before making a purchase and I get quite annoyed when sales person tries to BS their way through to make a sale. Anyway, the girls/ladies knew all the specs about all the strollers and car seats. We were really really impressed! We didn't end up buying anything as we're still deciding, but we'll be back to make our purchase for sure. Side note, I'm not sure if the sales person are commissioned, but we didn't feel pressured to buy at all! One of the ladies even told us to take our time after we told her our situation. It was a refreshing experience to shop here. Night and day comparing to our experience at Lussobaby and Crocodile. The store is packed and cramped but they do moved all the stuff aside for you to try out the strollers in the store. Also, they do have a great selection of merchandises in the store. My wife and I have been here 3 times as we've tried to find a convertible car seat that will meet our need for 3-across seating in the back of a regular non-minivan/crossover/suv. It's been made even more difficult due to carseats being un-returnable, a fact that the staff was clear and upfront about. The staff are knowledgeable and very, very friendly. At no point were we pressured or made to feel like we were wasting their time, and it seems like everyone who works there is a parent themselves. Earlier in the year while trying a demo model in our car, staff encouraged us to wait for a new model that was coming in the next month, as it would better suit our needs. You can't go wrong with a place that puts the customer's need before making a sale! The parking lot is difficult and the store is crammed full of demo-models - don't let these things deter you, as they more then make up for it with selection, knowledge and service. read more

It's way too cramped, cluttered and stairs everywhere-very bad design for a baby store. We tried to open a baby registry but they don't answer their phone or return messages. Don't really feel like they need our business, could be so much better in a bigger location with parking and more (and more knowledgeable) staff. I came here with low expectations after a bad experience at Lusso Baby - and was pleasantly surprised. In spite of the incredibly busy store, the salespeople (in particular Paige) were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. There was no sense of being pressured to buy anything - I was encouraged to take my time in making a decision and I was given a variety of options to suit my budget. Found the crib, mattress, stroller and car seat that I wanted, as well as a few bedding items on sale. The only downsides were that the crib that I wanted (an item marked "in stock") was actually sold out and won't be in for 6 weeks and one of the girls at the front desk kept interrupting to ask the salesperson questions. Also, the parking lot is a nightmare, but you can find parking further down Bridgeport and the helpful shipping guy will carry and load everything in for you. Where do I even start. I've been into this store numerous times over the last 3 years. The customer service here is horrendous. It doesn't matter how many customers are in the store, the sales staff treat you like you're inconveniencing them even when you're making a substantial purchase. The second time I was in I was looking for a Stork Sak bag I had found in the states but wanted to spend my dollars in Canada. I was told, very snottily, by a sales associate that they didn't carry that brand of bag and then not 5 minutes later my friend found about 15 of them in various styles at the back of their diaper bag wall. They don't allow children to touch a single thing in the store despite being a "kids store" (unlike every single other children's store in the Lower Mainland) My final straw was when my husband and I were in the store 2 weeks ago. First when I went to ask for help with a product I was told with an exasperated sign that the sales lady "guessed so but I'm kind of busy at the moment." A few minutes later I overheard the same sales lady tear a man a new one who was asking her a question (I later learned he was an employee) and then turn to the customers she was helping and loudly proclaim that he was "a total moron." They have some nice, albeit pricey, stuff but the morale in this store needs some serious help. Needless to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere from here on out. read more

When the products became available i went to pick it up but having to wait over half an hour for them to bring it to my car. Not impressed. After a horrendous experience at the Granville St LussoBaby, we decided to drop by West Coast Kids to see if they a crib and dresser set for us. We received excellent customer service from Rosalie, and another of their sale's girl that went out of their way to check stock levels for us. Rosalie was extremely knowledgeable in answering all our questions about the Natart line of furniture. They were even able to offer a 5% discount on the set which is what LussoBaby were offering as part of their supposedly amazing 6th anniversary sale (yeah right) straight off the bat. Only thing I would dock them for is their parking situation as it's tight and cramped, and there aren't too many stalls. read more

I purchased a car seat on this company's website, and when it was delivered to me, it was different than it appeared on the website - specifically, the actual product has several large warning labels screen-printed on the fabric of the car seat in highly-visible areas. Had I known of the existence of the highly-visible warning labels, I would not have purchased this specific car seat. This company had misrepresented the product on its website, presumably with a view to increasing sales, as I doubt many consumers would purchase this product if they were aware of its actual appearance. This company had posted photos of the car seat which were substantially different from the product photos posted by the car seat manufacturer on its website. When I contacted customer service to discuss the issue, I was repeatedly advised that the company would, under no circumstances, accept return of the product despite its misrepresentation on the website. The company cited "safety reasons" for refusing to accept a return. I acknowledged the company's refusal to accept a return of the product but requested a refund anyway - I felt that even if the product couldn't be returned, I should still be refunded for having been misled and for the company having created the impossible situation whereby I had no opportunity to inspect the online purchase in advance, was misled by the photographic representations on the company's website, and was then refused the opportunity to return the misrepresented item. Weeks later, the company updated the photos of the car seat on its website to match its actual appearance, presumably in acknowledgement of its deceptive practices. The company contacted me to advise that, despite repeated past insistence that a return would never be accepted, they would now consider return of the product; however, by this point, being completely dissatisfied and disappointed with the product (and the customer service experience), I had given the product away and could therefore not return it. The company advised that it would not refund me without return of the product, which I am not now able to produce having given it away. I have directed my concerns about this company to Consumer Protection BC and would strongly urge consumers not to patronize this business. read more
