I contacted Wessco Blinds while getting quotes for custom shades in my new loft, and they were the first company I ruled out. The biggest issue is pricing. Their quote came in significantly higher than any other companies I spoke with, but nothing about the proposal made me feel it was worth that kind of premium...Once I started comparing options side by side, Wessco just did not seem competitive in terms of value, functionality, or overall solution. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying more for quality when the difference is obvious. In this case though, the pricing felt hard to justify, especially when other vendors were offering stronger smart-home integration and more compelling options and discounts overall. The interaction itself was not terrible, but the quote made the decision easy. I moved on quickly and focused on companies that offered a better balance of cost and value. Definitely get multiple quotes before making a decision, because the pricing differences between companies can be pretty eye opening. read more

We have purchased about a dozen shades from Wessco over the past seven years or so. Their showroom is great, their sales people are top notch, Lance in particular is super nice and great to work with. And we've always had a great experience with the installers as well. We purchased manual shades for our upstairs and our basement but unfortunately decided to get the Hunter Douglas Automated shades for our main floor. After almost a decade of trouble shooting, installing new battery packs and motors I think it's more than safe to say they are complete garbage. Recently when we had a tech out to install all new parts on our automated shades. Wessco gave us free labor for the motor install but the technician only installed 3 of the 4 motors. We also purchased new battery packs as well. The technician said that after installing all new parts if we still continue to have issues to come into the store and get a new hub. . Well, lo and behold, installing all new parts did absolutely nothing with the new parts they gave us. They fell off the network and I've had to go back and reset everything again. I work in tech so I don't mind troubleshooting things but these shades are horrible. I called this week to see about the refund on the fourth motor, and to see if I could get a new hub since we still continue to have issues with the shades. Kami said she has no record of the motor not getting installed and told me that if I want a new hub it will be another $300 charge. Maybe it's just me but if I spend about $10,000 with Wessco for extremely subpar product, I would look into comping the new hub a staff member offered to me. Thanks for the memories, Wessco. After waiting multiple weeks for the blinds to be ready for installation, they show up for installation and are missing a part for our blinds. This resulted in partially installed blinds in our room for multiple weeks while we waited for the missing part to show up. Needed to coordinate another installation window around my work day which is a pain. These blinds are very expensive and I expect a premium experience. Not checking for parts before showing up is low quality work. Our job was not complicated, just installation of 2 honey comb black out blinds into a room. Pretty frustrating. read more

It's not often I feel compelled to write a review. The experience has to be either really bad or really great. Wessco lands at the really great end of the spectrum! We just finished remodeling a house and needed new window coverings. We shopped around and found the folks at Wessco to be the most helpful and knowledgeable. They came to our house with their samples to show us our different color options and blind/shade types. We opted for roller shades on our first floor where our living area is and cellular up/down shades upstairs where our bedrooms are. They saved us from choosing the wrong color in our bedrooms and also advised us on the proper open percentage to choose for our roller shades. They were even able to add some custom touches to our blinds from the factory due to their close relationship with Hunter Douglas. Installation was quick, professional, and painless. Lance even fixed a few things that I would have never noticed, but he said he'd never want a client noticing something minor wrong even a few years down the line, so he made sure everything was perfect. Our new blinds and shades look amazing and are the perfect compliment to our house. Our favorite feature is the remote control and automated motorization of the up/down cellular shades in our master bedroom. We have 10 windows in our bedroom, so going around and adjusting them every morning and evening would be a pain. (I know...we're spoiled.) Lance helped set them up to open automatically in the morning, just from the top down, so we still have privacy, but can still see out. Later in the morning, they open all the way. Manny from Wessco came by today and installed blinds on the west side windows first floor of my home. Wessco has already put blinds throughout the 2nd floor and parts of the first floor. Manny did a rapid and excellent job. He also tuned the blinds throughout the house. I recently had the home remodeled and repainted. Although I didnt know it the remodeler had not done the re-install of the blinds after painting correctly. Manny fixed it all. The blinds look great and will add a much needed insulation layer to the western windows. Thanks Wessco and Manny....highly recommended ! I looked at some of the other reviews. Most are good/great but a few are quite negative. This really doesnt make sense to me. I have used Wessco at least 3 times in the last 10 years. The service and people have been excellent 100% of the time for me. The little shop they have near Fremont is very nice and the salespeople have been very friendly and helpful. Yikes! Can we say "emotionally disturbed?" Amy not only flipped out, but now invents a story, plays fast & loose with the truth and blames the customer. I'm an old man who walks unsteadily with a limp - couldn't be physically aggressive or create an unsafe atmosphere if I wanted to (and I don't). I was shopping for blinds and need ones that fit into a certain size space. That's why someone was supposed to come to look at the window frames and measure. That's all I needed. No craziness, no accusations, no anti-guy hostility. Most of all, just tell the truth. I really miss the older woman who used to make going to Wessco a pleasure. The staff at the show room were great-- very patient with my multiple visits and lack of decision making skills. They even made an effort to quickly set up the installation upon receiving the shades from HunterDouglas, knowing that we were pretty much exposed to the public after moving into our new house. David performed our installation and was professional, fast, and did a great job. He cared about the quality of his work enough to tweak a few blinds that were manufactured with a slight slant. We made a big purchase of automated Hunter Douglas PowerView blinds from Wessco for our new home last year. They were prompt, helpful (helped us find the right style for our home), and quick. The install went great. Over the course of the first year we had some problems with the automated shades. Lance and Wessco worked with Hunter Douglas to find a solution to the problem, and we had a specialist in our home (along with Lance) today to update the software on more than 20 shades. They were quick, and most importantly the work looks like it did the trick. Wessco had our back and so did Hunter Douglas. Oh wow! I would never deal with Wessco Blinds again. When I got nine remote-operated blinds two years ago, Lance the owner assured me that they could come and change the batteries for me (my house is 10 minutes from Wessco Blinds), because the batteries are too high for me to reach, and I am age 80 and can't risk climbing up on a ladder! So when one blind failed, and the batteries need replacing, they have told me that it will be at least a month before anyone can come and do this 5-minute job . .and that it will cost $145. I am shocked. I would never buy remote blinds again . . and NEVER deal with this company. read more

Took 2 blinds to get their cords fixed. 5 days later when I got them back 1 blind had a different color cord. The other blind wouldn't close properly. One side of it wouldn't come down fully. Called them and asked if they could come to my home to fix it. They said no. I asked if they could complete the work within 24 hours. They said no. I took the blinds back again. I asked if the manager could call me so I can speak to him/her about the problem. Got them back 6 days later. The manager NEVER called me. The blind with the wrong color was fixed. The one that didn't close fully is exactly the same. No difference at all. What am I suppose to do now!? Take it back so they can fix the problem they created!? Be without blinds for 3 more weeks!? Pay more money so someone else fixes it!? Tell my boss that I have miss work for a 5th & 6th time to pick up my blinds!? Wake up when the sunrises for one more week!? Change out my blinds to have something in my room for the X amount of times!? Deal with a company that lacks professionalism!? They sure took my money... read more

I'm writing this out of frustration. At this point, they do not seem to want to finish their work, and just respond politely, but do nothing unless I inquire. I paid for the work in early July, and maybe because of the pandemic crises, it's still not complete. The installer/ measurer person was great, but a valance was cut wrong, and again only because I e-mailed, they talk nice but no action. Our government wants us to support small businesses, but that doesn't give them an excuse to take your money but not finish their work! I had to ask for my money back after waiting 4 months before they said that they have the original blinds being made. Come on! read more

My wife and I received a quote for blinds on July 28, 2021 from Kelly. In clear English at the top, it said, "This offer is valid through: 08/27/2021". Today, 08/18/2021, we had an appointment in the showroom with a woman who introduced herself as Amy. We were told by Amy that prices were going up tomorrow and the quote would not be honored. We were flabbergasted to say the least. When we protested Amy made it quite clear the meeting was over and they were not interested in talking to us any further. I purchased a home last year that seriously needs updating. The previous owners were older and most buyers would run from a project like this. I see neglected homes with amazing beauty and potential so I went for it. This was my first time using Wessco Blinds, I was recommended by a neighbor, and it was great experience. The owner came to my home, gave suggestions and idea's, and no pressure when I told her I need to think about all my options. I went with the Silhouette Blinds for some windows and Blackout Honeycomb for the others. The order to install time was very quick and they installed same day the order was received! I wish they told me that the rope to move the Silhouettes has to be LEGALLY screwed into the wall. It might have changed my order, but it's OK with me, I'll live with it. Bottom line, I will be using them again, actually, in the next couple months. read more

Horrible customer service. It took me months and returning the first set of blinds because they did not listen to what I wanted. I waned black out blinds because of a street light right out side my bedroom window. They assured me the room darkening would work fine. At midnight the street light made it looks like it was noon in my room. Had to pay a "restocking fee" to get the blinds I wanted. Even those let a ton of light in. For the price I paid for those blinds, I could have purchased a small vehicle. Very disappointed. read more

Terrible customer service! The owner came out and measured, but three of our six blinds didn't fit and had to be sent back. I had to call the store several times to find out the status of my order; they seemed totally unconcerned and said they would call me. The only time I received a call was when they said the new blinds would not arrive before we left for vacation. When we returned we finally got the blinds, weeks after they should have been there, and with no apology or any semblance of concern from Wessco. I ordered parts for a skylight blind that Wessco had originally installed many years ago, and received the wrong repair parts two or three times. I ended up adapting the wrong parts to the blind, and it worked fine. When I later brought the blind in for re-stringing, I was told that the technician refused even to look at it, because the repair I had done. I volunteered to come down and take off the adapted parts, but the guy not only refused to restring the blind, but he refused to even speak with me on the phone. I ended up taking the blind to Shaun at A All-Pro in Woodinville, and he was happy to help me out. When I unpacked the blind, I discovered that the Wessco technician had in fact started to restring it and had stopped partway through, leaving the blind unusable. No wonder he didn't want to talk to me! Shaun ended up fixing and restringing the blind and did a great job at a fraction of Wessco's previous quote! We have enjoyed working with Wessco very much. Our bedroom blinds (including a glass door) are wonderful - measured to fit perfectly, and we just ordered living room blinds as well. I recommend Wessco very highly. We moved into a new/old house (in Ballard) last year. It was built in the early mid-century period and has some great design elements, but attractive window coverings were not one of them. We inherited the original heavy-looking fabric drapes in the shade of blah, and they were not improved by the way they were getting crapped out of these heinous brass thingamabobbers dangling from the ceiling. Had to go. Luckily, we found some high tech and very fashionable replacements at Wessco. When their rep came by with samples and for measuring, she suggested we think outside of our comfort zone and try some of the colored options (almost everyone thinks they want white). We went with a neat soft gold honeycomb fabric in the front rooms and an espresso in the bedrooms/kitchen. It looks incredible - really really good. The window trims are a very rich oak, and the gold pulls out a lustrous tone in the wood. In the back, the espresso matches our cabinetry and brings the room together. The technicians who put up the system were nice and professional, and a year later we are still very happy, so they did a good job on the install. The blinds have been good for thermoregulation and improved our house insulation. Good stuff at a good price. read more
