This was the worst fast food stop I have ever had. There were about 6 workers behind the counter, standing around bumping into one another and not wearing gloves. They ran out of cheese so used shredded cheese for burgers, cold nuggets, hard french fries, and dirty floors. There was also no toilet paper in the stalls. So, do yourself a favor and Drive past this Wendy's when you can! Ps. No ice in one machine and in the other out of certain sodas. There was also no ketchup available to put into cups. read more

This was the worst Wendy's I've ever been to. It took forever to order inside. The women's bathroom didn't have any paper towels, so they put about four regular napkins on the sink. My husband said the men's urinal didn't work, so he had to use the stall, and that toilet was almost filled to the top with water. One coke machine was out of ice and most of the drinks were out. The other coke machine had ice but actively ran out of Mellow Yellow while I was pouring it. My sister and I were just here and the moment we walked in, the guy working, Jonathan, was completely rude! He said "Oh you two again? Came back to bully again?" We didn't know how to respond. Wendy's is always one of our biggest cravings! This one in Litchfield is the one we usually go to and sometimes it hits just the spot with freshness and being amazing but other times very disappointing. This time around there were ups and downs. They had no sodas at all because they were out of all syrups for their machines so did lemonades instead. They varied with the strawberry lemonade being very tart and the blueberry pomegranate being watered down. Waited a little bit for the food (at most 7 minutes) but not too long. The fries, burgers and nuggets were all fresh but the chicken sandwich had been sitting so long the breading became soft. Finally got to try one of their new sauced nuggets and it was alright. They gave a good amount of ranch sauce packets to dip them in but they had a very weird taste to them. Driving back from a meeting in Champaign, IL I started to get "real" hungry. I needed something to cut the hunger pains in half, but not fill me up to much because I was attending Clayton Restaurant Week when I got home. Once again, the cloverleaf in Litchfield came to my rescue. I exited off 55 South and headed to the little red headed girl for a quick lite bite. Upon entering I noticed a poster promoting four combo meals for, "New Year - New You". I've been dieting and going to the gym, so I knew there would be no Frosty in my order. Their Ultimate Chicken Grill Combo sounded good and it was only 600 calories. The combo consisted of a Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Bowl of Chili and a Diet Coke. When I placed my order, the counter lady asked me if I'd like to replace the chili with fries. Those fast food jockeys will push those fries no matter what. I politely declined the swap out. By the time I put the change back in my pocket, my order was already on a tray and waiting for me. In jovial tone I said, "wow that was fast." To which I heard the reply, "yeah we don't waste time." in a surly tone. I picked up my tray, filled my glass with diet Coke and found an empty table in the dining room. It was 2:30PM and the room was over half full. Was everyone having a late lunch? As I glanced around, I noticed I was actually one of the youngest in the room. Perhaps this was not a late lunch crowd, but an early dinner crowd. Wendy's brags about their beef not being frozen, but what about their chicken? My grilled chicken tasted rubbery and tough. My chili here was even a disappointment, it seemed to be watered down and did not have the flavor I am use too. However, I must say the diet Coke was spot on. It was cold, refreshing and just the right amount of caffeine. Today I learned to stick with burgers at Wendy's and avoid the chicken. The true highlight of stopping at this Wendy's was seeing a gentleman walk in with a sock monkey stocking cap on. I have only seen those in children sizes and wanted to know where he got it. When he came over to fill his soda glass, I was going to ask him where he found it. I was totally shocked when he turned around to walk towards me. We waited in the drive thru at the Wendy's in Litchfield, IL for over 25 minutes. When we got our food at 6:22 pm the medium Frosty's were half full. I was taken aback when I took the lid off the first one and tried to hand it back to the girl at the window, asking her if she could fill it up as it was only half full. She looked in the cup and said " that's not half full." I was shocked and told her they are normally full to the top. My husband took the lid off of his and it was also half full. Her response was " we are short staffed and busy." My husband told her that has nothing to do with making sure with making sure the cup is full, after all his iced tea was full. It was clear she has no concept of customer service and it did not appear there was an adult in the building or we would have asked to speak to a manager. Wendy's might be my favorite fast food restaurant. Don't know what's going on with this location. Anytime during the day I've had a fine experience with food and Customer service. If you go at night, all the other drive thrus around are filled and no one is at Wendy's. I go to Wendy's and they tell me it's cash only and the soda machine doesn't work. It's strange how everytime at night nothing works at this location. I think the workers would rather just sit around doing nothing then actually work. The service and the food were both great. What I want to comment on the most, is that there were quite a few elderly and disabled customers that were there while we were. The restaurant was crowded and some of the elderly and disabled customers were having a hard time getting to a seat through the crowd, but the staff helped carry their food for them and help them with whatever else they needed. The entire staff was friendly and polite, and the manager went around to each table to ensure that everything turned out the way it was supposed to. Now that I know that this restaurant cares about their customers, we will be back more often. read more

Yes, the food is standardized, but this was the freshest #6 combo I've ever had in my life. But let's get past the food real quick- because the service was unbelievable. It was the nicest staff in fast food history. The manager checked on all the tables and made you feel extremely welcome. "Hey fellas." The other members of the staff walked around and politely went the extra mile, "Would you like a bag for your salad to go?" Just the little things. I used to only pass Litchfield on my way from Peoria to St. Louis. I can honestly say I'll now plan my meals around a pitstop in Litchfield, to enjoy myself some Wendy's. read more

early daytime or even lunch visits are great. depending on the day you come and depending on the staff on the day you go. Cathy is great to take your order if you go inside. but if you go through drive thru nelly might be rude and throw your change at you. depending on who cooks your burgers they may be overcooked and old. if you want the best burgers go in between 4 and ten pm. after ten pm you will be waiting around 6 minutes for all chicken including the dollar menu. overall ok. at least you get your food. unlike others like bk where their grill is down between 12 and 3 am read more
