She picked Kahunas cuz she thought we'd be sitting outside at patio but it was too hot and humid so we decided to stay inside. It was good. My son ordered the big kahuna and got it with fries. He seemed to enjoy it. My sister got a burger with a single patty. I'd say that the single patty is for young kids and light eaters. Wife and I decided to try Kahuna's while in the area and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and efficient, clearly not their first rodeo. Despite being busy, food was served in about 10 minutes. She got a single cheeseburger meal and I got the Pipeline meal. The burger patties are smash style and were grilled to perfection with lots of fresh beef flavor. The buns (brioche?) taste like they're butter grilled and they really added to the flavor. My Pipeline included 2 patties, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, bacon, and chipotle mayo. What a great combo. The bacon was paper thin but was enough to add that signature smoky saltiness to the cheesy beefiness. The chipotle mayo played well without overpowering the other flavors. The fries were standard crinkle fries but they were fried to perfection, hot and crispy and well seasoned (salt). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was typical fast food style casual with tables indoors and outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, we must have arrived shortly after the Little League games finished. They were quite busy and tables were somewhat scarce indoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A previous patron had spilled a drink on the table, leaving the entire table a sticky mess and we had arrived just in time to get the full experience. Our food was all amazing! We had Wipe Out burger, Patty Melt a small order of Loaded Volcano and Breaded Mushrooms. Loaded Volcano- almost like fair food ribbon fries, only 100 times better and fresh. Breaded Mushroom were great. Full fresh mushrooms lightly breaded. We picked Kahuna sauce and garlic parasmean. Both were good. Garlic probably our favorite. Burgers were cooked perfect. Sauce, cheese and toppings add great flavor. It is counter service and they bring food out to table. Staff friendly. My family and I loved our visit to Kahuna's Burgers! The staff were all super nice and very helpful during our Friday afternoon lunch visit. We all ordered something different from their extensive menu. I HAD to try those fried mushrooms and they were as advertised.... DELICIOUS!!! My niece had a chicken quesadilla and my brother in law had the pipeline burger. Everyone enjoyed their food choices. I even had a hot fudge sundae! It was yummy and perfect! Kahuna Burger: Best burger find off of Highway 70 and it's located in Greenville, IL! I ordered the Pipeline Burger which is a double burger with pepper jack cheese, grilled onion, crispy bacon, and chipotle mayo on top of a toasted brioche bun! I made my order a meal and added their mouthwatering crinkle cut fries and a chocolate shake. The chocolate shake was phenomenal! There is plenty of seating inside as well as on their large patio. If you are in a hurry, there is a drive-thru option as well. Make sure to stop at Kahuna Burger off of Highway 70 instead of a fast food chain! read more

Stopped during the noon hour and both dining room and drive-thru were busy. Quick food--not fast food--with my meal delivered in 12 minutes after counter ordering. It was worth the wait. Ordered the Hawaiian burger with no BBQ sauce, Parmesan garlic fries and a drink for under $10, tax included. As soon as the meal arrived I could smell he Parmesan on the greasy fries, which also held a strong garlic taste. So far, so good. Two patties on a toasted bun, some lettuce, and a pineapple ring--you know, for the fiber--made up the tasty and filling smashburger. Kahuna's is such a pleasant, fun surprise! Anywhere you can get a burger and a great ice cream cone in a drive-thru is a win in my book. That being said... Eat on the festive patio! When my sister and I stopped by we weren't *that* hungry, so we decided on a half order of onion rings and some ice cream. The staff was so friendly and volunteered to let us eat our onion rings first and they'd bring our cones out later. The onion rings really are so, so good. We opted for "kahuna sauce" for dipping even though we had no idea what it was, and it was a slam dunk. They did have an option listed for a swirl cone, but told us that only vanilla was available. That was not a problem because it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had. It's the real deal, folks. I'm going to have a hard time driving by without ordering one for the road. We stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch because we were in the area. We tried three different burgers: the Patty Melt, the Big Kahuna, and the Western. We also got some waffle fries. For the good: the burgers were definitely yummy. Similar to a smash burger style. The waffle fries were also good, but the amount we got for the price was very disappointing. So now on to the not-so-good: biggest problem was that we waited 40 minutes for our food. While it was absolutely lunch rush at the time we ordered (the tables were mostly full and there was a drive-thru line) nothing was said at the time we ordered to suggest how long the wait would be, and no apologies were made when the food finally came. It was a weekday lunchtime--if anyone was there on their work lunch break, they would have had to leave without eating. The other issue was that when the food finally did come, it was just above warm--so if they were just backed up and our food didn't get cooked for awhile, you'd expect the food to come very hot, but it was not. Transparency and communication go a long way. I'd highly recommend they be honest when people order about just how long the wait is--this is branded like a slightly upscale fast food restaurant, but was far slower than a fine dining restaurant in my opinion. Finally, the Kahuna sauce, which came on two of our burgers, has absolutely no flavor. I'm always curious about burger places' "secret sauces" but when I tasted it, it was entirely flavorless. Not even like "just tastes like mayo or ranch or whatever"--it tasted like nothing. While the quality of the burgers was better than fast food, it was not at all good enough to warrant the wait or value. Bummer...was definitely hoping for better. read more

I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap with no tomato and ranch dressing. I unwrap to find a loaded chicken, cheese, tomato wrap. No lettuce, Buffalo sauce, or ranch. But full of tomatoes! The receipt clearly shows the order correct. Apparently you don't have to have a 1st grade reading level to work there. My husband ordered a chicken Caesar wrap. We were passing by on I-70 on our way to New Mexico and stopped in Greenville to go to the antique stores that were advertised from the interstate, and decided to stop for lunch as well. Kahuna's seemed like the best bet out of the few restaurants here. Overall this little burger joint was satisfactory but not spectacular. Prices were cheap, food was decent and came out quickly. I had the Hawaiian burger. I will say this--the burgers themselves are pretty tasty. Just the right thickness and not dry at all. However, for this burger, I would have either liked more pineapple and more BBQ sauce or one less patty. With two burger patties and one pineapple ring with a small smear of BBQ on the top bun, the burger mostly just tasted like...burger. I was excited to see the roasted sweet potatoes as a side, but they were just okay, kinda lacking the usual sweetness of a sweet potato, had to use a lot of the cinnamon butter that came with them. Their sweet potato fries are probably better but that would've been an upcharge. My mom had a wrap and thought it was just okay, they only put cheese on like half of it. My dad thought the same about his burger as I did, just wanted more of his toppings. We also had an order of garlic parmesan fries...wouldnt necessarily recommend, much more garlic than parmesan. I had the Wipeout burger which was a wonderful mix of flavors. It was perfectly cooked, and just the right amount of greasy. It was downright tasty. Hubby had the taco salad, which was different in that it wasn't served in a fried taco bowl, but taco chips were served on the side to crunch up in the salad.
