They're short on a large fry, burgers are messy and chicken sandwiches are too small and crunchy

MA Browns - Green chile cheeseburger! Skittles were somethin' extra the Ma Brown's slipped in the takeout bag for my kids. Lol 2/2/2023

RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 4 PARKING They have their own private parking lot. Small lot for a small restaurant! LOCATION/AMBIANCE This Ma Brown's is on the south side of the tracks on Grimes Street. This is a very old-fashioned restaurant. No thrills or frills. A bit rundown, but they use gloves & spray/wipe down the tables well. THE GRUB On their day off (parent teacher conferences on 2/2/2023), my two daughters wanted some burgers for lunch. I wasn't given a receipt, so I'm not exactly sure how everything was charged, but our total take out came to $28. The green chile cheeseburger was great. I desired more green chile, but nothing new there being New Mexican. Lol. Their patties are flavored nicely. Not too greasy. Everything is made to order. You build your burger or the way you want. Their crinkle fries are really good actually - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I opted for onion rings, which were OK. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUBThey offer a kids burger meal. SERVICE Don't come here in a rush! Their service has always been super slow, but is always very friendly. The guy who took our order slipped a bag of Skittles in our takeout order. Random, but I think you noticed how patient my two young daughters were. It took about 40 minutes for our order to come out. MY FAVORITE PART... The green chile cheeseburger! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The wait. TIPS + Call in orders ahead of time + Drive-through is available

Welcome to the community, Blake's Lotaburger - Store #83!…read more Their opening day was yesterday Tuesday, January 21, 2025. I brought my oldest daughter here to get an after school snack. The drive-thru line was super long at about 4PM and folks were rushing inside from the parking lot. So we bailed. Lol. It's located next to Texas Roadhouse in north Hobbs. Other plans for the plaza-to-be are in the works. Open daily until 10PM. Good for breakfast! Drive-thru is available. A bit slow for one breakfast sandwich for me on 1.22.2025, but they were friendly & it was served hot. They have a separate drive-thru line for online orders. Blake's, established in 1952, is famous for incorporating green chile into their offerings. There are several scattered throughout the Land of Enchantment as well as a few in Tucson, AZ, and El Paso, TX. I personally recommend the Lota breakfast sandwich with sausage ($6.71). It entails two eggs omelette-style with cheese and your choice of sausage or bacon topped with green chile, served on a soft, smooth buttery bun. Good filler for all-day-on-your-feet days! For lunch, I would opt for the green chile cheeseburger, no mustard and add mayo. It pairs nicely with onion rings. I'm not a fan of their natural fries, although, I still need to try their seasoned fries. Looking forward to trying a seasonal Biscochito Cookie shake some day too. Many folks park across the street and jaywalk. LOCATION/AMBIANCE Right away, I noticed all the Mexican bottled beers they offer. My brother mentioned the tables were new. THE GRUB There was complimentary chips and salsa. Not very spicy salsa, but well-blended and flavorful. I opted to start the meal off with a Carta Blanca cerveza mainly because I'd never tried it. It was alright. The alambre taco plate ($13). You can request flour tortillas for $1 extra, however, this dish is comprised of 4 small corn tortillas with a layer of "top sirloin with red peppers, green peppers, onions, and cheese. I was asked if I wanted beans and rice with it. I didn't understand the question. Isn't that standard protocol? I really enjoyed the tray of three salsas that they brought out with our food. The red one had a good kick. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB I didn't have my kids in tow. Didn't see any kid's menu, but I'll check next time. SERVICE The two ladies serving the entire place were fast and friendly. MY FAVORITE PART... The amount of bell peppers in my alambre tacos. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Bland beans and rice.

To begin with, the establishment is small and there are only a few parking spots. We were able to park across the street though, so no biggie. We walked inside and 50 million eyeballs all looked our way. We stood there not knowing if we had to sit ourselves or wait for the server. I finally approached the server and asked her what we had to do. She then pointed to a table right by the door for us to sit at, great. It was super busy and hot inside, and almost all the tables were taken. We quickly looked at the menu and knew we wanted tacos. The selection of meats is quite small and there is not a lot to pick from. I went with the steak tacos with everything on top and the hubs had the alambre tacos. He also ordered a michelada. Chips and salsa were brought out right away. The salsa was muy caliente. Our food didn't take too long and both our dishes came with rice and beans. My steak tacos were dry AF. The meat was bland and it had a lot of fatty pieces. It was topped off with some chopped cucumbers and cilantro but nope it still had no flavor. The hubs also was not impressed and he said that his tacos weren't it. (That means it's a no) The michelada was good though! It was yummy! The rice and beans were also pretty good! Our sever came and went a few times, but I had to literally wave my cup in the air for a refill. The inside was hot and by the time we left, my back was sweaty... So sad I didn't like this place. It has potential though.
