I asked for a mojito and was told that they couldn't make drinks that are not on their menu. Not a deal breaker, but still disappointing because from the looks of it, they had a full-service bar, which I wouldn't think a mojito would be an issue to make. And no, I wasn't asking for a mojito during a busy time when the bartender was slammed. Overall, the food tasted very good and the waterfront location was hard to beat. It was only two small things that kept this from being a 5 star experience, but I absolutely would come back as I enjoyed myself.

I selected their fish and chips (rockfish was the protein) along with red crispers and I replaced their coleslaw with green beans. Overall, the dish was really good. The fish was crispy and well seasoned and the red crispers tasted wonderful with their homemade tarter sauce as the dipper. I wasn't a big fan of the green beans as I prefer mine to be soft though. But I was plenty full with the dish overall. The reason why I gave them 4 stars was service for our group. It wasn't bad as we were attended to by the welcoming staff, but it was 3 total servers which was a little weird. One server was new and messed up some of the orders. And for one person, their dish came out a little different than how she imagined so she sent it back and paid nothing. Again, not bad service but much needed training for the new guy. Again, the restaurant's been around for years, but it's definitely well kept. Just like other BBQ spots, you have to order up front. On the right, the menu's on the board to choose from. It took us minutes to select our respective meals, but at the end of the day, we were ready. For my order, I selected a dinner size plate of beef brisket with a side of fried pickles. All was quite delicious. The brisket was cooked perfectly and went well with both BBQ sauces from Scoot's. And I liked their fried pickles were actually small spears. Fried and not too much sodium. They had to bring our food up a very narrow staircase and one of our trays filled with 5-6 dinners was dropped. My scallops were raw. Together we numbered 18 people. My husband and I paid $300+ just for us. It was hot and miserable. I wrote the very next day expecting a rely from the management or owner. Not once was I contacted. The iced lattes we ordered were perfect- the right amount of sweet and had oat milk option. The breakfast pastries looked wonderful, I picked up a pumpkin spice glazed donut. To my surprise, they warmed it up and it was awesome. Unfortunately for my friends, it didn't appear they had any gluten free pastries. They did have an energy ball and a nut bar that was though.
