Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering a salad. I got the Greek Tavern Salad, which doesn't come with meat, so you have to pay extra to add chicken. The chicken was very dry and flavorless and in a big chunk on top of the salad. The tomatoes and green peppers were also in really big pieces, so I really wish I'd been given a better knife to cut everything up. I also wish the salad had a better Mediterranean-style dressing and more feta. I ended up leaving most of it behind. The other thing that really bothered me was that they started deep cleaning the restaurant around 9pm, even though they're open until 10pm. They were fully mopping and stacking chairs around us, which made us feel like we were being rushed out. I actually asked when they closed, and they said 10pm--it was barely 9pm at that point! Who wants to smell cleaning chemicals and have furniture being stacked around them while they're still eating? The decor is cute and the restaurant has a lot of character, but unfortunately the food and the way the evening ended probably means I won't be back.

Ended up paying for my $20 Caniac Combo at the first window which was odd, but I was hoping efficient! The workers seemed a bit flustered. At the second window -- the lady asked if I were "Shane" I said no, and correct her I was "Caitlin" I was handed my large Arnold Palmer & bag of food. I visited the Wendy's on W El Norte, and honestly, it was a disappointing experience. The hamburger bun was super soft and juicy, but that's where the positives ended. The bacon was disgusting, and they slathered way too much ketchup and mayo on it. The chicken nuggets were stale and inedible, and the fries, while good, don't make up for the rest of the meal. I was impressed that the fries stayed fresh after a 12-minute drive home, but that's about it. The Sprite had an awful aftertaste, and to top it off, my total was nearly $30. The employee didn't give me a receipt, which is basic customer service at any fast food place. There was barely anyone there, so no excuse for bad service. I will only go back to Wendy's for their hamburger, but that's it. Not worth the visit for anything else. read more

So having to come out to San Marcos and Escondido has been what I've had to do to get my fix. It's newer, nicer, cleaner than most locations and the service is actually friendly. Probably the fastest online ordering I've seen anywhere. Literally 3 minutes from when I placed the order, walked in the door and my soda was ready, just waiting on ripping hot fries which came 90 seconds later and they warned me about how hot they were. Of course I didn't wait because I had my arbys sauce waiting to cool it off enough to eat. Let it sit there for 3-4 seconds rather than a quick dunk before eating and it's cool enough. Like all Arbys they have great lighting from tons of windows and a less cramped drive thru than most. They seem to be heavier handed with the meats than other locations and they are the only national ff chain that has cooper sharp, which any Philly Cheesesteak fan knows well. I usually order my 5lb bricks online, but if I just need some of that tang I'll come here. Prices are inflating, as are all fast food, but like everyone else they have rewards. I just don't like how their rewards expire quickly. Often times being available less than a week. I feel less bloated and gross with their fries than from other curly fries. Their cheesesteak is the best of any fast food chain and even better than some restaurants. I'd say it's the 5th best cheesesteak in San DIego. I love how soft their buns are and their rolls have chew and are seeded. Their soda fountains always hit and are never out or low. This location is just outside of most of the transient populations that congregate nearby so walking here isn't bad at all.

And now it's in a different location a few miles from where it had been. I like the new choices that they've added to the menu. I never was a fan of the roast beef because it was so processed. I prefer things like tri-tip. My go-to in the old days was the chicken strips. These days I buy the reuben, fish sandwich, and the limited items. I also love the potato cakes and mozzarella sticks as sides. The app has some great deals, and I usually place my order to go in the app so it's ready when I arrive. I'm always getting it to go on my way to work or errands. Getting in and out of the shopping center can be a little challenging, but it's near Center City Parkway and the 15 and 78 freeways. That means it's an easy stop on your way to somewhere else.
