We are in this area from time to time and we've stopped by this location in our travels. During the warmer months, we might take a to-go order and eat it on the 'town green' nearby for a picnic lunch. I love these older New England town greens. It seems like the drive thru line is always veerrrryyy long. I just walk inside. Why idle my engine for twenty minutes (or whatever) to pick up a meal. Inside I'm usually first or second in line and have my food in minutes. The entrance situation on this building is odd. You really can not see it. Located on the side of the building, facing the main road, you have to cross through the drive-thru line of cars (or park on the left side of the building), follow the sidewalk toward the drive-thru, bear left and then look to your left to see the door. We placed a rather large (seven people) on-line order over the summer and they did manage to forget an item, so I get how that process needs to improve at this location. We also got an item that was not 'ours' in that order. Perhaps a case of 'wrong bag' in a busy kitchen? Whatever, the person without a burger was unimpressed as was the person who paid for the sandwich. Figuring out how to stop this madness definitely needs to happen. When we order inside for just a person or two, they do 'get it right'. There are napkins, straws and a couple other items located in an area just past the cashier. Whether you are dining-in, or taking-out, you need to grab your own items from this area. The staff are pleasant even if not the most interactive. Last visit I had their fish value meal. I must say, this fish is good. The outside is surprisingly crispy, you can really taste the cheese on there, nice bun and it was well constructed (as in, everything lined up, my cheese wasn't half off the patty for example). I will definitely get this fish sandwich any day ahead of some other fast food option. Way better texture and taste. I like Wendy's and am glad I have this option. Ordered on the app to save time and selected pick up at window. Arrived 12 minutes later and then waited 17 minutes in the long line of cars. Pulled up to the window and was greeted immediately. Six minutes later, I was given my drink with no straw. Seven minutes after that I was given my order in place effectively 39 minutes previously. Worst of all since it is a takeout order and I will be eating while traveling. I would expect to at least see some napkins in the bag. There were none. This is really a poor example of a Wendy's as I stop at them often, and they are usually far better than this. read more

As I was placing my order I noticed how dirty things were behind the counter, especially the floor.When we sat down to eat I noticed that the table was dirty. Moved to another table and it was dirty as well. After we finished our meal we went to the restroom. It was obvious that it's not maintained throughout the day . Decent fast food, in Norwich CT, be careful with the driveway, you can bottom out due to the dip. Otherwise you'll need to CHECK THE ORDER if using the drive thru because it's not always correct, especially when it's done to your wishes. Sodas are great, as are frosty desserts. The single will fill most everyone especially if you eat the fries. Service is fast. Time and time again I go to this Wendy's because its fairly close to my home. After working extremely long hours...I be hungry. I politely ask the staff (working the Thursday night shift) to make my food as fresh as possible & of course get the order right. Which is already crazy in itself that I even have to say those things. I proceed to get my food just to discover that not only was it cold but also not what I asked. As one could guess I was furious. I pray this review reaches the highest level possible and hopefully it gets corrected. This is my health we're talking about. The employees at this chain are awesome!!! They were all super fun and were joking and laughing with us and other customers. This was by far the best experience I have had at a Wendy's! The parking lot, building, and inside were all very well maintained, neat, and clean. All while we were eating the employees were laughing and having a good time, this place is where it's at! It's time for Wendy's in Colchester to close. They haven't gotten my order right in the last 3-4 visits. Their soda is almost always flat now, and apparently the only time they can understand what you ordered is when they charge you. Maybe its just the quality of employees willing to work there or the culture the company sustains, but there is no hustle, no pride and no quality assurance. I go to this Wendy's almost daily because my daughter likes to get Frosty's. So today we go to the drive-through and I ask for a burger with only ketchup and a frosty as I pull away I realized that the burger has everything on it. I drive back around to the drive-through and tell the girl at the counter that the hamburger is wrong, she wasn't happy but it was wrong she walked away and then the manager came to the window, her name was Kathy. I told her what happened and she walked away and threw her hands back to dismiss me, I was absolutely shocked even my 10-year-old daughter said daddy what did she mean by that. Never have I ever been treated like that at a fast food restaurant for sure. Manager has no concept about Customer Service and when I called and asked to talk to the owner I was told that he is from Bolivia and was given a number in Spanish. I work with clients that have special needs. We are always in a van with at least 10 clients. We have gone to Wendy's in Colchester on several occasions. I pick that one for the prices and the service. They always treat our clients with patience and respect. On one occasion I could see we were holding up the line while they were trying to make their choices. They opened up another register and helped the clients without any judgement or hesitation.
