I know we're talking about McDonald's here but as a mother of five children believe it or not I stop here occasionally and I don't mean for my kids I mean for myself because we're so incredibly busy. Ok, even during a very busy lunch rush, McDonald's has it hitting on all cylinders. My order was slightly custom, but they nailed it. Friendly staff, and even using the app, which made ordering really fast, there still was interaction with the staff. They pulled a bunch of us up, and after a few minutes, two of the staff came out with three bags. One of them was ours, and the two staff members were delightful, and presented us with hot food and cold drinks. The window staff were busy but personable. You could hear the people in the kitchen calling back and forth professionally, and during my visit, their interaction with the servers was apparent. The management kept the reins loose, and it was obvious they were confident in the crew to let them do what they do best, and provide guidance only when needed. On to the food! Dove on the fries immediately. Crisp but not greasy. The nuggets were fresh, and my chicken sandwich was tasty! Unsweetened ice tea and an apple pie rounded out the meal, and everyone was happy when we arrived home to finish our meal. This is my McDonald's. Make it yours, too. read more

It's just a normal McDonald's, good fast employees mostly, the ambiance is what it is, a McDonald's. It's usually very clean up front and the kitchen is always clean. If you want plain old new age (oh how I miss the fries fried in lard, although I admit they're pretty awful for you, but I am not going there for a meatless Monday meal!) I ordered an egg mcmuffin. I got to work opened the wrapper and there was a muffin. No egg or cheese. Whatever drugs the worker who put together the order was on must have been very intense, or this was a joke on the customer. I'm annoyed but not angry just smh!! By the time I actually realized there was no egg mcmuffin in the bag they were done with breakfast. Now you have to actually open the contents of each box or wrapper to check that the item you ordered is correct. read more

This place is absolutely horrible when I sit down inside I feel like I'm going to lose my mind because of the annoying beeping coming from the kitchen. Also the kids playground smells like a middle school boys locker room. In addition I feel like I'm going to fracture my spinal cord sitting in their chairs. Horrible establishment. McDonalds is McDonalds. It never changes and it probably never will. But, when you're road-trippin' it can easily make the most convenient option. When you're on your way to lunch and are really freakin' hungry, you get a first lunch. We didn't have any issues going through this location. Speaking of the location, it's in such a cute little area. I had only been in New England for about an hour and everything around this McDonald's was in a cute little colonial building. I never expected to ever review a McDonald's on Yelp but because I stop occasionally at this location and just had a crummy experience, here I am. I'm also not sure why there are only 2 reviews.... that's plain odd. In any case, typically this location has superb fries. Today I stopped in just before 1 on these home from worked and bought into the promo sign for "Buttermilk chicken tenders" . I should have known when I had to wait for my order , that this could be an issue. Two were under cooked with " crunchy chicken"... not raw but not done. The other two were dry and chewy though warm so I'm guessing reheated. Never will order again And those great fries of the past, nonexistent today. Most were hot but also undercooked and limp with a few hard, dry fries mixed in. Very disappointing for satisfying the infrequent urge for McDonald's . read more

I bought a shamrock shake and did not like it. Went back through the drive thru and asked if I could get a chocolate shake and give the shamrock shake back. I was told they would have to charge for the chocolate shake, because they don't remake shakes if you don't like it. So I demanded my money back. This not the first time I have encountered a problem at this location. Poor people skills and bad attitudes here, and they want $15 an hour , they are not $5 an hour. read more

This McDonald's is simply buns. The slowest and most unhappy service I've ever experienced in fast food. If you like a ten minute wait with a completely botched order than you will have no problem! There are much better McDonald's within the area when you are craving, but I do not recommend you stop at this one, especially the slow drive-thru! read more

"Slow food with a bad attitude" I visited the Colchester McDonalds around 10:00 Monday morning 4-23-2018 The restaurant was not crowded inside, I was second in a line of three people at the counter and there were about 4 cars in the drive thru. I believe that there were three McDonald's employees in the food prep area and at least two employees at the inside counter and drive thru window. The man in front of me had been waiting when I arrived inside and continued to wait for quite some time to get his order. After handing the order over, the McDonald's employee quickly turned her back and would not even look at me or the two women behind me waiting to place our orders. I asked the women behind me if something was wrong that I did not know about to have all of the counter staff basically ignoring us. They said that this McDonald's is always slow and unfriendly. I finally get an opportunity to place my order and the McDonald's employee seemed to be acting as if she was irritated to have to wait on me. Of course, some of the items on my order were delayed because they were not ready yet. I went and sat down to eat the items in my order that were ready. 5 minutes later, an employee appears with one of the missing items. I had to return to the counter to ask for the coffee that I had ordered. "What's your order number?" I was curtly asked. Fortunately, I remembered my order number so the woman could look it up. She then questioned if I had actually gotten the coffee or not. I told her no and that's why I was at the counter now. She huffs away and returns with a full to the top, scalding hot black coffee. I thank her and walk away looking for the cream and sugar dispensers that I thought would be with the soda and condiments. No sugar or cream available so I have to go back to the counter and ask for cream and sugar. Now the woman behind the counter is really irritated with me. I ask her nicely to dump out some of the coffee so there will be enough room for cream. She finally returns with the coffee. It tasted horrible. I'm not sure if there is some kind of employee/management animosity going on at this McDonald's but they should not take it out on the customers. Needless to say, I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Well, it's McDonalds. It's fast food chain stuff. I didn't go to 3 stars because usually your going to get your order wrong. Literally, most of the time I catch something they missed and have to rifle thru my bag to double check the order. It is what it is. But sometimes ya just need a Big Mac or a cheeseburger. The more you order the higher your risk factor goes for if it's going to be correct, keep that in mind. read more

AWFUL!!! i asked for no pickles SPECIFICALLY because I have an allergy to pickles and they PUT PICKLES ON MY BURGER! I had a Mcdouble and when i took a bite into the burger, it tasted like someone had emptied a container of salt and pepper on to my burger. then looked under the buns and saw a patty that looked like someone had taken a bite out of it themselves. this place is NASTY! and I will never go back! I ended up calling the store and reporting it and the manager was extremely rude and had an attitude. overall the worst place i've ever been to. read more

HORRIBLE! Don't even waste your time going it will take forever no matter what you order! Wendy's is right across the street and you never have to worry about the wait there. Ok so here we go again. This is still the WORST MCDONALD'S I've ever been in. That said I was a salaried manager for McDonalds in 5 stores over an 8 year period. I was even a first assistant at this very store. Point here is I know what I'm talking about. The restaurant is in decline, serious decline. There is a constant sewage smell in the parking lot and play area. The food is constantly terrible. The service is trying but not supported. THREE TIMES THIS WEEK my wife went through the drive through 15 minutes after opening and was told they needed 15 more minutes. Really? Starting at the top the General Manager isn't capable of directing the actions of her staff. No management support or development is taking place. If I had to guess I'd say they are attempting to "loose" their franchise because they are unable to do anything right. Even the district manager supports cheats and the general malaise that has permeated this poor restaurant. Save your money and patronize one of other local restaurants where good food and service as well as a clean environment will certainly be much less stressful than this S**tshow... read more

This McDonald's is very dirty they do not clean the restrooms at all you walk in and the employees are rude they mess up your order. Was told behind the scenes are even worse and they treat their employees like crap was told there is mold on the ceilings and inside drink machines no one does any cleaning so people are generally getting sick and have no clue why, I know a former employee who says this is all true and I believe this person. I believe they need to shut this place down until it meets all high standards of a 5 star facility.
