We went to the drive thru at 11:20. I was told by the employee it'd be a couple minutes because their system froze. When I said I would wait, she said "actually it may be 10-15" I hesitated but there weren't many other options and when I said I'd wait, she said it would only be a couple minutes more. Then five minutes later she came on again and said that they were now closed because their system was still down. After the amount of time I sat at the drive through window (about 7 minutes) I feel I should've been given a sincere apology. What can I say about this place? It serves food. Its basically edible. If you want to grab a drive through burger, its the only other option than McDonalds in that area of Carmel. I do like their nuggets, when they are hot, and their Frosty's. But outside of that, I would never go there and I used to count Wendy's as one of my favorite fast food chains. Everything else about this place is just pathetic. All of the Wendy's near me all seem to excel at very slow service to the point that if there is more than one car in line, I seriously have to consider if I *really* want something from them. And the Carmel spot really just takes cake. I can easily wait 4-5 minutes from the car in front of me to get their order taken, only to drive up to the speaker and have them ask you to wait, usually for a few more minutes. Once you do get your order, its rarely all that hot, and their burgers are just bland and boring. Awhile back this location had a fire and was closed for awhile. My latest drive-thru visit was fine. Angels must have been watching out for me this time because, hallelujah, nothing was missing from my order, nor was my order incorrect. Wendy's fries are pretty much always good. The burgers, though, are just mediocre at best. Just there this AM, was served cold coffee in the drive thru and when I mentioned this was told it would be 5 mins to make more. Hash browns also cold and no napkins given in bag. Asked for receipt and was told "no" and windows slammed shut. One time I had an argumentative order taker in the drive through. Don't confirm you heard the order if you have to go back and re-verify it again. The bigger problem I have is that consistently the food is bland. I usually get a #1 with all the veggies, mayo, ketchup, etc. But it doesn't really taste like anything. Extremely disappointed in this Wendy's. Service is always mediocre at best and frequently worse. Very frequently out of items. Particularly frustrating as DoorDash requires drivers to use the drive thru and contacting the customer to find what they want requires getting out of line, contacting the customer and then returning to drive-thru. read more

The service at this Wendy's is the absolute worst I've ever seen. The man taking orders takes 10 minutes to ask for your order then the second you say the first thing you want he begins reading the total, so you have to cut him off and order your next thing and he just does that over and over. Just terrible service. And I ordered regular nuggets and they put 5 spicy nuggets under 5 regular nuggets to hide them rather than tell me they didn't have enough. Staff unfriendly and the manager on duty should of gone back to bed or taken a class on dealing with people. 4 mistakes plus mine were made while in the store. I was at the Carmel Wendy's around 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 18th. My food was hot and fresh. My order was correct. I was waited on by a young lady named Leana. I quit going to this Wendy's a few months ago because the staff were rude and awful. I had a better experience this time. They have hired new staff and providing better service. I went to Wendy's because I had gotten a coupon in the mail. I pulled up at the drive through and proceeded to order telling the person taking my order that I had a coupon. She said to read the number at the top of the coupon she interrupted me and told me to just pull up to the side window never taking my order. I handed her the coupon and she was like oh coupon code 43. She gave me my total handed me my food wasn't going to give me my drink until I asked her for it. I opened my food the bun on my hamburger was stale and my fries were cold and stale. Tasted like both had been sitting out for a while. Firstly, I'll start by saying that the only reason I'm giving this location 2 stars is because the food is always so damn good. Otherwise, its an absolute one across the board. We've lived in Carmel for a little over two years and have gone in spurts of getting food there. We'll have multiple bad experiences and say no more, then get a craving and go back only for the same thing to happen again. A few things that have happened repeatedly: -they are incredibly SLOW - the order is never correct -something is always missing -there's always a wait on something - no straws or chili/frosty spoons in bag -staff is slightly rude when you address an error -they are always severly understaffed, which makes them generally irritable -upon going inside as opposed to driving through the drive thru a second time to correct an order, discussion about their staffing issues can often be heard, as well as people agruing over work I will say though, as if my previous visit didn't seal the deal, the one from the other night did. Not only did I drive about 15 minutes across town to get there, I specifically went over altered specs of our order several times, waited about 10minutes because of fries and nuggets being on wait, I finally got my food and it was STILL wrong. I was so irritated about it, the fact of no straws or spoons (surprise, surprise) didn't even phase me, I just wanted out of there. So extremely dissappointed. I'm done. read more

This Wendy's is utter trash. I waited in the drive through for 30 minutes with about 4 cars in front of me. When I got the order, which the manager was standing there in his little polo, the fries were ice cold. There's no quality control, and fries are the easiest thing to keep fresh. It just takes discipline to not serve cold fries. I will never go to this Wendy's again nor another Wendy's again. Not sure why the dining room doors were locked and was told I had to go through the drive thru at 8:30 at night when it was supposed to be open until 10. Not to mention we sat in the drive thru for 10 minutes watching someone wait to have someone help him and then still hadn't been helped in the time it took us to park, try the door, and get back in our car. Went to the store and the doors were locked at 7:30 PM. We were able to get in after a customer was coming out and was told by employee they're locking up their lobby. When we said the store schedule says the lobby should be open till 10 PM the employee said we don't have the staff so decide to lock the lobby doors. When I ask why wouldn't they just called a manager to come in or a district manager we got no response. While sitting in the car running out this review we saw at least 10 people try to open up the door and come in. Looks like they're totally losing business and employees that was on staff really didn't care. Very unhappy with this Wendys. Yesterday my husband purchased cheeseburgers, fries and cokes for us. They were not busy, no other customers around. ZERO STAR!!! to say this wendys is bad is an immense understatement. i'm not a yelp lady, or "karen", and never thought of myself as one to write a review out of anger, but wth wendys. this location is insane if it's late at night 1-2 hours before closing good luck ever getting food from this place. they will leave you waiting at the intercom for 10 minutes until you finally pull up to the window and a bitter old lady comes and asks you "what do you want" in which you reply "can i place an order?". "no, we aren't taking orders right now it's only door dash" with zero explanation and a whole lot of attitude as if I came 3 minutes before closing and not 2 hours before. i pull my phone out to order door dash pick up and when she sees me she tells me.... "you're going to have to leave the window though because we have a timer here" as if the 1.5 star reviews don't make you look bad enough. wow wow wow i've had many many bad experiences at restaurants and fast food but this by far beats all of them. i've never written a review in my life but when this happened i could only think of calling corporate and trying to get that girl fired, i make fun of people like that... but not today. i've had multiple bad experiences with this location, this was the straw that broke the camels back. don't go here until a manager that has an ounce of work ethic is put in charge. sorry for rant read more
