This PT center doesn't know what they are doing. Their advice and treatment are useless. Kinda Mickey Mouse operation unfortunately.

The clinic has a small gym upfront with treatment tables in the back. Super convenient location in Alhambra with a 4-hr free parking garage. B&C PT is extremely popular and books out weeks in advance. I had to wait ~3-4 weeks for my initial appt, and had to book all my subsequent appts following my first visit to secure dates/times. I work primarily with Ching Ly (the C of B&C lol) and he's super down to earth. He did a comprehensive exam of my neck, measured my neck movements with a goniometer, and confirmed if it was a joint or muscle issue. I've seen several PTs, but no one was as thorough as Ching in trying to figure out the root cause. My treatment plan is pretty straightforward - Managing neck pain with manual therapy, at-home workouts, and then more workouts to strengthen neck, shoulder, and back muscles. If I had to nitpick then it would be the super tedious process of booking upcoming appointments with the front desk receptionist. Nothing PT related. Highly recommend B&C PT! I hope to be free of this annoying pain by the end of my sessions.

Some of the exercises were not intuitive to me, he would try different ways to explain to me. He would take the time to answer my questions of how things work. Through…read moreDr. Benjamin Yu, I was able to see exactly where my weak points were--and more importantly, the 'why' behind them. It was a classic case of: 'I didn't know I needed therapy until I got therapy.' I booked an evaluation not because of an injury, but as preventive maintenance for my physical well-being. It's the same logic I use for my car: you don't wait for the engine to fail before you take it in for service. A standard annual physical checks your internal chemistry, but it doesn't check the health of your skeletal architecture. If you want to live a long life without a wheelchair or chronic pain, this is the missing piece. It's just science. Dr. Benjamin listens with extreme patience. After just watching me walk, he could tell me exactly what I needed to work on. He didn't just explain the root cause of my back pain (the classic millennial struggle); he explained the chain reaction behind it using simple analogies and actionable steps. He treats the cause, not just the effect. Since the exercises are all bodyweight-based, I can do them anywhere--at home or while traveling. Before this, I didn't realize my back was aching simply because it was compensating for my hamstrings. I've moved away from the linear mindset of 'stretch what hurts' to a deeper focus on strengthening the right muscles for longevity and performance. It's about unlearning a lifetime of bad habits and replacing them with proper form. This has completely changed how I approach my training. I've stopped relying on 'primal intuition'--doing whatever it takes to finish a movement--and started using the muscle groups that were born to do that work. Instead of burning out my strongest muscles, I'm finally using the whole system. Be who you were designed to be. I don't know why this isn't a routine checkup for everyone yet, but I am sure it will be once we start to value our bodies as much as our technology.

She has treated me for several injuries, including my shoulder, elbow, and lower back. She has also treated me post-surgically, and I always leave our sessions feeling better than when I came in. She is motivating, attentive, and really takes the time to correct my form during exercises so I'm doing everything properly. I am not sharing my time with 2 other patients. I'm very glad I found HealthFit. It is well worth it compared to a larger corporate/hospital based PT clinic where your therapist may spend more time documenting than actually monitoring your movement and progress. HealthFit provides the kind of personalized care that makes a real difference.

I reach out and grab my bathsheet 800 gram (Water Works) and towel off and then reach for my bathrobe 800gram Turkish Cotton (Water Works) and slip on my slippers (ugg). I enter my bedroom and enter my closet and begin selecting something comfortable but warm for this mornings session of physical therapy with Brian. I thumbed thru my long-sleeved tee's and choose a vintage striped tee in kelly green and royal blue.(polo circa 2012) and then oversized Chino shorts with draw string and button and zipper in weathered navy (polo circa 2010) and my full zip tennis sweat shirt in white and Wimbledon green (polo circa 2009) and my trusty pair of Sperrys in weathered navy. I walk into the kitchen and prepare a cup of hot tea with organic honey and a slice of cinnamon loaf and return to the bedroom, and take my prescriptions. Sure this place is a little older and run down compared to other facilities I have been to, but…read moreafter several appointments with 2 different therapists, I found that they had decent service and I decided I would continue my care here since the location is also convenient. Today, everything changed. I had an appointment with another therapist, Ivy. When I arrived to my appointment there were two other patients in the lobby. One of the patients asked the receptionist to use the restroom and proceeded to go inside. Ivy came out and called that patient's name. Since the receptionist had stepped away, I informed her that he had stepped into the restroom. The patient came back out into the lobby, and I told him that they had called his name. He proceeded inside and told Ivy his name. Coldly, she said I have other patients here and proceeded to ignore him. He expressed how he had just stepped away to use the restroom there in their facility and had let the receptionist know. She essentially had a 'you snooze, you lose' response. This is no way to treat anyone, let alone someone older. She then called my name but before I could even offer that the patient go ahead of me, he asked to cancel his appointment and walked out - rightfully so. I proceeded to follow Ivy inside. Boy, was that a mistake. She had a terrible bedside manner and was incredibly rude. 1 to 2 minutes into the appointment, I told her I was also leaving and proceeded to walk out. No one should be treated like this especially by someone who claims to be a healthcare professional. Having worked for healthcare facilities in the past, what providers tend to forget is that patients do have a choice about where they receive their care. I asked that the receptionist see to it that none of my future appointments be with Ivy. But after witnessing and experiencing such terrible service and blatant disrespect, I choose to no longer be a patient here and will look for another facility to go to. Today, Ivy exhibited inexcusable behavior including disrespect towards an elderly patient, zero interpersonal skills, and a total lack of empathy for those that are there for PT and are very likely in physical pain. Common courtesy and decency went out the window. Ivy's behavior was completely unacceptable and she has no business working in patient care. As a result, this place will no longer call me their patient. I cannot in good conscience support a business that employs someone like this. ____________________________________ Update: I received a text message from the receptionist and asked that the office manager please call me. Scott, the office manager and I spoke about the situation. I can say that he expressed genuine concern and understood that the situation could be handled differently. Although, I personally won't be returning, at least I know that the other patient will be in good hands with him. Scott: Wholeheartedly, I want to thank you for calling the other patient and speaking to him to rectify the situation. Thank you for attending to this matter with such care and for keeping me updated. I genuinely appreciate that you took the time to speak with me earlier and will be addressing this with the therapist.

Finding a healthcare professional who truly changes your quality of life is rare, but D. Jeffrey Su…read morehas done exactly that. My partner initially sought his help to address a painful shoulder muscle tear, especially since he hadn't been exercising or going to the gym for a while. From the first appointment, it was clear that Dr. Su is both very patient and incredibly knowledgeable about the human body. He doesn't just focus on a quick fix; instead, he takes the time to help you understand exactly how to avoid and prevent future injuries. Dr. Su helped my partner define his long-term goals so that he's not just feeling better today, but fully prepared for his older years. They focused heavily on building back a solid foundation through correct posture and strengthening my partner's core. Dr. Su spent significant time correcting his basic movements to ensure he's exercising and lifting properly. Thanks to his guidance, my partner's been able to build his muscle back and feel confident returning to a regular fitness routine. He's now motivated to continue his exercises consistently, which is a huge win for his overall health. This is especially important now that my partner's in his 50's, as his priority is staying mobile to enjoy life and travel in the future. Dr. Su is exceptionally professional and consistently pleasant to work with throughout every session. His holistic approach to recovery and longevity is truly impressive and sets Dr. Su apart from others in his field. I cannot thank him enough for his dedication to his patients' recovery and long-term well being. We definitely recommend Dr. Su and his outstanding services to anyone looking for top-tier care!

I was referred to Dr. Jeffery Su by my partner, who found him via Yelp. I decided to go with Dr. Su…read moreafter researching all of my physical therapist options through my health insurance and found that they all had terrible Yelp reviews. The reason my partner liked Dr. Su was because he actually tries to help you without roping you into seeing him multiple times just to get money out of you, which I found to be very true - he was able to fix me in just 3 sessions. Paying the $165 per session out of pocket (still FSA/HSA eligible though), was well worth the money in my opinion because I was desperate to get better from my pickleball injury and get back to playing ASAP. Before coming to Dr. Su, I was trying to diagnose myself with ChatGPT and was following their prescribed regimen to heal myself. I wish I had gone to Dr. Su earlier because he was able to diagnose my issue in the first session and give me actionable strengthening exercises (he posts all the assigned exercises, with instructional videos, on the PtEverywhere App) to provide me with some immediate relief from the pain. Dr. Su said that I had strained my (sacrotuberous) ligament, which ChatGPT said would take 4-6 weeks to heal. After religiously doing my strengthening exercises for 4 weeks, I found that my pain was low enough to where Dr. Su approved my slow return to Pickleball and Aerial Silks (he's incredibly responsive via text). I found that as I would play, the same right side was continuing to give me trouble. So I went back to see him a 2nd time. At this session he was able to diagnose that my right hip was super tight and was impeding my recovery - he wasn't able to discover that during the first session because I was in so much pain that he was only focused on fixing that first. He used a strap to pull on my right hip to gain some mobility back, but it barely moved. The next couple of days I was incredibly sore but continued to religiously complete my newly assigned strengthening exercises along with foam rolling (if he forgets to posts the exercises on the app, just text him and he'll post them right away). Whatever he did to me, worked because by the 3rd day, my pain was gone! That along with the foam rolling was probably exactly what I needed too because I was able to easily move into my right front split without the tightness I had been experiencing for years! My follow-up appointment was a week and a half later with Dr. Su and I had no pain to report to him. He tested my right hip again and was able to finally get the head of my right femur to actually "bounce"/move normally during this 3rd session. He taught me some lifetime maintenance and strengthening exercises for my overall health and longevity for playing pickleball, which he posted on the app. He also sent me some links to adjustable home weights to help me save space in my apartment. I generally have trouble sticking to self-guided workouts but Dr. Su simplified them to just 25 minutes of exercises, twice a week. Hey - if that's all I need to keep playing pickleball without injury for the rest of my life, I'm sold. Sign me up!
