It's been under construction for the last few months, and I think it may be newly opened. No matter. I got sent here because they were having some stuff on sale, and dad wanted to stock up. But what I really wanted to point out was the awesomeness of the staff! Came in, had some peace of my own for a min or two, then got offered help KINDLY, without the pushiness that comes from other places. I'm usually ignored in most pharmacies. Sure, the place may not seem that big, but the basic necessities are there, and most insurances accepted. In local places like this, all you can really hope for is that the people find it pleasant and convenient to shop here--They did just that! Welcome to the neighborhood.

So it did. But the problem is that two of the items was priced randomly. The labels were on the bottom and the side of the item. I was shocked how one price labelled on the bottom was $3 and the one price labelled was $6 on the side of the same item. I was charged 6 dollars!!! What the heck?? That's doubled the price!!!! And they stick several labels of $6 clumped together(only one label of $3 at the bottom which I did not see at all...) They're not being reasonable with pricing...it's all random with $6 here, $3 there, $7 and etc...which is all the same items. I should have look carefully next time. They should fix their pricing too!!!!

The pharmacy is a little small compared to the one I've been going to in Chinatown since I was a kid. There's not much waiting area except for the few seats they have in the center of the pharmacy. The staff is very friendly, nice and they take the time to explain the medicine and prescriptions you're picking up. I usually go after work to pick up my prescriptions which is never a long wait for me. They have a good range of medicine and health related products, but feel there could be more and maybe if items weren't priced so high. Overall, the pharmacy is convenient and I also like that they're opened pretty late until 7:30PM which works out for people who usually can't make it a pharmacy until after work.

This review is strictly only about their self covid testing service…read more Fast covid testing at this pharmacy and results within 48 hours. I've visited so many times during covid and have never had a bad experience. I found this place just walking by and saved it in case I needed future covid testing. And when I did I was always able to walk by and have it done quickly and easily. The self-covid testing here was/is always reliable and I was able to feel comfortable that this pharmacy was always able to provide me with a self-covid test even when the covid cases were bad, they still had enough. 8th avenue pharmacy was/is partnering with LabQ for fast covid testing. Just use your phone to scan the QR code they have outside. This will prompt you to input your personal information as well as health insurance information. After, you will receive a notification with your information and you can walk into the store, head to the back and let them know you are there for a covid test. Give them your name and they will look it up in the system. If the QR code and information you filled out is good to go, they will print out a label and stick it onto a self covid test kit. Then they will instruct you to nose swab yourself outside and drop off the swab and covid test kit/baggie into a box. There is no line most of the time since you are doing a self test, so you just grab the bag, do the test and drop it into the box, which takes less than 5 minutes total. Thank you for being a reliable covid-testing site and staying open even when covid was spiking!
