I've been coming here for a little over a year for my laser hair removal. They have a laser hair removal membership for $79 a month which has kept me coming back. But unfortunately they recently modified their membership and required a medical consult. After my recent appointment I was charged $79 because I went in for my treatments at 6 weeks instead of 8 weeks AND they charged me $50 for the virtual medical consult. $50 for a consultation that could have been filled out on a form and took less than 15 minutes?! Also I wasn't aware there was going to be a charge for this so a little heads up would have been nice. read more

Would not recommend this spa - I came in as a first time customer & had a voucher for free photo facial valued at $250 that was paid for by a friends of mines company (they gave to a select group of employees & since she got a few, she gave one voucher to me). They took my makeup off & then was about to do the facial before all of a sudden saying they could not redeem my voucher due to sun spots & melasma on my face. I said okay well then is there another facial treatment we can do because clearly this is $250 that was paid & expired at the end of the month in December. They proceeded to tell me where was nothing they could do, including the woman who either owns or manages the salon. Her picture is the one on their Yelp page. I was like are you serious right now? This is very unprofessional given I took the afternoon off work to come here, you take all my makeup off & then tell me you will not warrant NOR sub my $250 voucher which was money fully wasted. So unprofessional & is a spa I will never return too & have already informed a lot of my colleagues & friends about the same. There are too many great options in Dallas to be treated this way. I have been coming to see Josanne off & on for over 7 years. She was friendlier but now she makes me feel like I'm rushed and she doesn't have time to answer my questions. Kind of rude and abrupt, as well some of the staff. I still continued to come because it was close to my house and open on Saturdays. I finally decided to have fillers for the bags under my eyes, BIG MISTAKE I thought she would use Restylane but she said Voluma would be better. On my right eye, it's not even noticeable but the left eye looks like a sausage! And both injections are below the tear ducts, not even on the bags. It's very embarrassing and noticeable. First, she said I was having a reaction and that I needed to have laser treatments under my eyes to smooth it out. After about 5-6 treatments, I still had a sausage. She said it was getting better and that it would take more laser treatments and that my other alternative was to have it dissolved and that was going to cost me an $150. I wanted a refund so I could just apply it to other services but she would not even consider. I would not recommend her for under eye fillers!!! read more

I saw Spa In The City being built and was intrigued. I went to their open house and was blown away by their upbeat attitude, great customer service and treatments they offered. I joined their $79/month membership. My first treatment was a HydraGlow Facial. It was only 30 minutes if that. I wasn't impressed at all. I gave it another shot and went the following month for an IPL photofacial. It was less than 20 minutes... after my third treatment I called and asked if there was a way to cancel my membership. This is a Med Spa and their is no fluff in any treatment. I signed up for something that I did not want. I'd get a treatment but not a membership. The manager called me and said I could cancel my membership if I payed full price for the treatments I had. The people were nice and the treatments were just treatments. The inside of the facility is very clean and bright. **updated review! My $20 was refunded -- again nice facility and the people were/are very nice.** They continue to show great management! I would definitely have treatments at this facility but the monthly membership is more than I need. I do recommend this facility and now my coworkers go here! read more

I've been seeing Josanne for years for a variety of skin care treatments. Let me tell you... she is a WIZARD! I had an injury as a child that left me with a pretty significant scar right above the bridge of my nose. I realize it's a superficial thing to be self conscious of, but so sue me I'm human. I never thought I'd be able to remedy it, but low and behold Josanne worked her magic, and after a couple of treatments my scar is a distant memory. I went in for Botox yesterday on a special off with Josanne. I experience one I got in her room was great! She was informative and professional and administered the injections without much discomfort. I was easy to park but I must say if there had to be a negative it was that the building itself was not in the best shape. There is a lot of repair that needs to take place inside and out. The owner Josanne has a horrible attitude . She left one of my eye brows higher than the other one . She was recommended by a friend . When I complained she got really defensive . I then did a bit research to find out she not even a nurse so in other words she is practicing injections which obviously out of her scope . She doesn't have the proper medical training that's why she messed my Botox up . I called last week and was told 3.25/unit for dysport, I called today to make an appointment, and was told it is 11.25/unit for Dysport... I asked again if she meant Botox as it takes approximately 2.5 units of Dysport to equal 1 unit for Botox, and she was extremely rude and said not it was $11.25 unit for Dysport....made zero sense but okay, I will make an appointment elsewhere as there are far too many places to choose from that will be at the very least courteous on the phone. If she was that rude on the phone why would I let a place like this inject my face? Very unprofessional and no knowledge about the services they offer. Have experienced a couple photo facials and the clear/brilliant facial. Highly recommend this spa! I used a Groupon and saw Josanne. From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left she could not have been more rude. I got botox and when I asked questions about this service I got short defensive answers. The injections hurt more than any other time I have gotten botox and still do hours later. I also got a chemical peel. When I asked about the side effects it was as if it a was a chore for her to answer my questions, and not until I was rushed out and walking out the door did she yell after me "wash it off in the morning" as if an afterthought. I was also chastised about my current skin care regimen recommended by my dermatologist, without any positive feedback as to her recommendations. Her answers to all of my questions were short and extremely rude. The defensiveness that she put out made me think she was afraid or insecure about her skills. I bought a deal for Botox from Living Social last Feb. I logged on and made an appointment on the website and promptly wrote it down in my day runner incorrectly. So I showed up about 3 weeks before my actual appointment. Josanne worked with me to get me in sooner than my actual appointment since I was planning for a special occasion. When I got to Spa in the City, Josanne took the time to go over the effects of the Botox and explain the benefits of a full spectrum sunscreen. I am devastated.
