Ok if you're planning on ordering a cake with script written on it, I'm just warning you to think twice and I will show you why. The cake I asked for was a pretty basic 1/2 sheet cake with 2 lines. The lines weren't centered & they looked like 2 different people wrote them. When I expressed my issue they actually refused to change it or scrape it without charging me extra. I already paid over $100 and really , it wasn't worth it. See for yourself. Just wasn't professional in my opinion. read more

We ordered a small tier cake for an anniversary party. Weinrich's team was very patient and flexible during the ordering process and even made requests possible a few days later. The cake got tons of compliments for how pretty it was and how delicious it tastes. They are one of the last bakeries of its kind around. read more

TOP TIER! friendly staff, delicious goodies, can't get much better then that. :) 10/10 read more

I cannot express how amazing this bakery is! There isn't a single item that isn't DELICIOUS! The staff is kind and friendly, and the place is adorable. The only thing this place lacks is pretention! read more

You know, after living here since the 90s you kinda get some favorites. Well sadly The Swiss Bake Shop is gone perhaps forever. I had an adult birthday party for an old friend and I asked What kind of cake they wanted. Vanilla with chocolate was the answer, so a shop that been here forever was my go to. They were competent on the phone and the price for a ten inch cake was reasonable for these unreasonable times we live in. The cake looked great and the taste was wonderful! Not too sweet and really nicely decorated. tempus fugit. You know, my favorite hazelnut cake might be gone, but an expert bakers vanilla layer cake with buttercream chocolate is pretty damn good! read more

The birthday cake was AMAZING. Great chocolate flavor. Light, not gummy. The Butter cream icing was also light and the cake lasted for days in our cake dome. Highly enjoyed and gladly recommended!! read more

The bakery looks nice and there's plenty of options the staff was nice no bad service, but I ordered three items and there was hair in two of them I couldn't tell if it was human or animal hair looked very light brown or blonde short hairs I will never eat anything from that place again! Very unsettling and disgusting.. read more

At work each year on our birthday, we get to pick the cake we would like for our special day. Every year this task gets more and more difficult because excellent bakeries seem to be disappearing (unless you live in South Philadelphia or are in the area near Crossroads Bakery). A friend suggested Weinrich's and ordered a lemon cake ~ it was a buttery, superbly moist layer cake with whipped cream frosting and the decoration on top was so beautifully done, it was most certainly a work of art. It was beyond delicious ~ too wonderful to even try describing. Everyone absolutely loved the cake and it was decided Weinrich's would be our 'go to' place from here on out. read more

We found Weinrich's several years ago when we did a taste test of cupcakes from 6 bakeries in the area to help us decide where to get some for our daughter's birthday. Their cupcakes were (and still are) the most moist and delicious we've found and now we use them for every birthday and special occasion when we need a cake or cupcakes. We get so many compliments from guests and I love referring people to them. I also order from them for people at work who have birthdays! They are so easy to work with and only need about 2 days for most orders. They also do an excellent job with printed art on top of their cupcakes which really makes it easy to do a dessert for a themed birthday. read more

Great Bakery! Everything is delish and they make the best cakes for any occasion! They made a birthday cake for my fathers 90th birthday celebration that was the hit of the party!! Awesome! read more

Ordered custom cakes for years. Always great. Would pop in before work at mall years ago. Good coffee and pastries nice and fresh

We love their birthday cakes. They are helpful and pleasant to work with. Everything we have bought there we have enjoyed.

There were a lot of options but I was very surprised to find that nothing was really catching my eye. Don't think I've had that happen at a bakery before. I wanted an eclair, but was kind of turned off by all the extra topping they decided to add over the chocolate. Also a fan of cheesecake, but their cheesecake had frosting on it...? There was a LOT available on a Saturday afternoon which makes me wonder how fresh everything actually is. The setup is kind of odd. You pick stuff out in a very crowded narrow room and then they send you two rooms over to a mostly empty dining area to pay. I might give them one more chance since I'm so close by, but I'm not really sold on this place. read more

What's not to love about cupcakes, brownie, macaroons or cake? You could smell the sugar walking into the bakery. This bakery celebrated 100 years in 2019. So they've been around for awhile. The only downside was they didn't have coffee so we had to make a separate stop. I bought six brownies, six cupcakes and an iced brownie for me. It was $30. The staff at the office loved them. read more

DONUT QUEST CHAMPION SO FAR! There isn't a thing here I haven't taken a bite of and not LOVED (discounting anything with buttercream filling because that's just a personal preference). The seating area located on the right side of the store is where you order your coffee and can sit around a marble table with cushy chairs and a charming decor. There is also a TV up in the corner, permanently fixed on the Food Network. If you aren't sure what to order, they thoughtfully provided a colorful chalkboard full of favorite beverages from all the staff members you could try. The donuts themselves are created with master baking skills, which I can tell because everything is light, yeasty, flavorful and not at all greasy or ever stale. My favorite donut, powdered with custard filling (aka Bavarian for some ppl), is not something they normally make, but will custom make any donut you like if you call ahead the night before. I have totally done this and I am a customer for life now. Delicious! I have seen a nice variety of specialty donuts during my few visits so far, including such novelties as apple filled donuts and red velvet donuts (which my son gobbled up!). I have not tried their cakes, but they offer tiered cakes by a per person pricing, which are made from pound cake. They also have lighter sheet cakes. I will eventually have to sample their muffins and cookies because they look pretty good too, but for now, I will stick to my donut quest. While I was visiting this establishment one fine morning, I decided to ask the matron of the establishment, the master baker's wife, Mrs. Weinrich for a tour of the place. I had noticed the cases full of vintage baking wares and was intrigued by the old Dutch/German looking cookie/candy molds. She happily gave me a story about every black & white photo in the place, including the original bakery in 1915 NYC all the way down through the family members (aka indentured servants to the bakery) to their wedding photo. read more

Weinrich's Bakery - Cream-filled powder, glazed, and Boston cream donuts. And French roast "kaffe"! - Bakeries Near Me - Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

They have delicious cupcakes, but they are a bit expensive. Their cookies are basic. nothing special and are way overpriced. I ordered a cake from here once and it was covered in buttercream. If you like buttercream, you'll like their cakes. I wasn't a fan. A good, average bakery. read more

Weinrich's Bakery - Number cake - Bakeries Near Me - Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

I had a great experience there recently. Very happy with the selection. Their cake was excellent.

Gone way down hill. Very expensive, not very good. Just had "gourmet" cupcakes for $3 each (regular sized) and the cakes were blah and the buttercream was waxy. The cannoli were also lack-lustre. The bread (prepackaged) was a bit stale. Not going back. Especially since they no longer make doughnuts! (And it is a bit perplexing why they have the bakery side (small/cramped) and the spacious "cafe" side where no one (that we've ever seen) sits. read more

Customer service was awful. Long story, short... Picked up an expensive cake for my daughter's shower. Due to no fault of my own (although they would beg to differ), the top tiers of the cake shifted. My wife took it back right away and was told they could fix it but would cost her an additional $25.00 and they wouldn't even carry the cake in from the car. While everything worked out fine, we would never use this bakery again. read more

Can't speak to their cakes but there stuff that they have available in store like cupcakes and cookies are very over priced and truly not that great. I understand and respect the history of the place but for the money its not worth it. read more

Weinrich's is back after months of being closed for Covid. They have taken precautions with lucite/plexiglass barriers between the staff and customers, and although they do have tape markings on the floor every 6', customers are within a foot of one another and the safety precautions aren't enforced. Weinrich's still has the title for the best cheese danish around. They no longer have the beautifully decorated cupcakes with flowers on top, as I went Fort the second time this week for a variety of cupcakes, danish, and cookies. The prices have taken a jump. $20 per pound for cookies, $4 for a black and white cookie, $3.75+ for decorated sugar cookies, and cupcakes range from $2.50 for plain cake and icing to $3.50+ for oreo, s'mores, red velvet, and other "specialty" cupcakes. I visited Lochel's for the first time this week. Safety precautions are enforced with only 2-3 customers allowed in the store at a time. Lochel's cupcakes are as good as Weinrich's and more reasonably priced. The danish, especially the cheese, rule at Weinrich's. The quality of the cheese is about the same at the two. But Weinrich's loads theirs with cheese. The front of house staff, waiting on customers, has taken a hit overall. Some are not pleasant, regardless of the time off day. This morning, I left a little disappointed, as Weinrich's had become a place I'd go to every week, sometimes twice, and rave about. With a better experience at Lochel's, Weinrich's should take a step back, and evaluate the overall business model and consistency. read more

Stopped at Weinrich's bakery just because I had an urge for a brownie. I purchased one brownie went to pay for it and the girl at bakery counter marked on a piece of paper one brownie with no price. I probably wouldn't have taken it if I saw the price. I went to the other side of the store to pay for the brownie and the lady at the register said $4.25 I couldn't believe my ears of the price. One brownie approximately 4" square. At this point in time stores are just taking advantage of price increases from covid. I understand that during Covid many prices went up for example, eggs went up astronomically, but now they're down to almost an all-time low. The brownie was good, but as principal, I will not purchase any of their products again in the future because they price gouge you. NOT NECESSARY!! Giving them a three star for the brownie! No stars for the prices!! read more

Weinrich's Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

Every time I drive past this bakery I'm always tempted to go in, but I've restrained myself. Today, I caved. Maybe it was because I needed a hug but instead chose a sugar rush. Or quite possibly I just really, really like pastries. Yeah, I'm gonna go with that one. My daughter and I couldn't narrow our choices down so we got a bag full of calories. A slice of Bavarian chocolate cake, a cinnamon bun, a sugar donut and a giant cookie shaped like a pumpkin. Everything tasted good, especially the donut, which kicked the ass of every single treat at all of the area Dunkin' Dounts. Twice. I liked the retro vibe of this place (it's truly old school and has been around since 1952) and the fact that the girls who work there wear giant baker's hats. I really wish they had more variety, though. There were lots of donuts and cookies but hardly anything chocolate. The cakes look tasty, too - maybe I'll try one for the next birthday celebration. All in all, a good option for some sugary goodness but I think I'll keep looking for the bakery of my dreams... read more

Established in 1919, this family owned/operated German style bakery sits in a small strip center between Easton and Davisville Roads in Willow Grove, Pa. The Vietnamese restaurant, Pho & Beyond is right next door, and a convenient neighbor to have if dessert apres noodle soup is your sweet desire. The space includes two storefronts, and is bright and cheery. The staff dresses the part of bakers and assistants, with white coats and hats. With all the goodies in displays, and glass walls permitting a look at the actual creation of the cookies, cakes, scones, petit fours, and cupcakes, Weinrich's is all about seduction and temptation. In that it succeeds quite well. It was next to impossible not to want to sample a little of everything in sight, especially when they offered me a petit four as a first timer. That was small and delicious, and set everything that happened next into motion. Just had a get a half dozen cupcakes (Raspberry Cream, Caramel Cream, and Lemon Cream), and the same number of the freshly baked and glazed donuts. A small bag of scones were thrown in for good measure. Everything was very good to excellent. The cake bottoms were firm enough to hold the top load easily. Each cupcake was injected with the cream of choice, right down to the bottom of the base. The icing was soft with subtle flavor, rather than the hard topping found in many shops. The donuts were more the standard variety, with Red Velvet and Vanilla cake style, as well as traditional glazed and French Cruller alternatives. All dipped in vanilla glaze icing, they were less enchanting as their texture, touch and taste were not so unique from the more mass produced options found elsewhere. The scones were raisined, and had a mild sweetness. There was far more in this shop than could be sampled or purchased in one visit. I am not a bakery cookie guy, preferring home baked to almost anything that can be made in quantity, yet given what I've just tried, Weinrich's is certainly worth several returns to get hands and tongue into the rest of this cookie jar. read more
