I've been coming here every time I'm back in Shelby, so it's definitely a place I've enjoyed over…read morethe years. This visit was just okay. The prices are pretty cost-effective, and the staff was nice and friendly. The location is clean, in a good spot, and there's plenty of parking, which is always a plus. The fries were a little white/undercooked, so we put them in the air fryer at home to get them nice and crispy. The Philly Steak also didn't taste as good as it used to--it just wasn't quite like I remembered. Overall, I still appreciate this spot and hope my next visit brings back the taste I've enjoyed in the past!

Fish camps like Love's are getting harder and harder to find, which makes this place even more…read moreworth appreciating. Family owned since 1968, now five generations deep, and it still feels like exactly what it has always been. That's rare. You walk in, go up to the counter, order, and take a seat in the big dining room while they call your name. The room itself is something, decorated with old fishing nets, harpoons, and antiques that have been collecting since the beginning. It feels lived in the best way. The salt and pepper catfish is the signature and it earns that reputation. Perfectly seasoned, not greasy, served with fresh hushpuppies that are hot and light. Got the flounder and green shrimp too and both were great. Portions are generous. The slaw is the right kind, creamy and fresh. The hand-breaded chicken tenders are worth mentioning too if seafood isn't your thing. The brothers running the place have a way of making you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. People come in and stay for hours just to talk. That tells you everything you need to know about what this place means to the community around here.

I ordered the vegetable quesadilla which came out very hot and was plentiful. The server was attentive, and the food came out very quickly, even though there were several guests there. I placed an order tonight and this was my regular order that I place weekly. Well on this night it was ordered but they got the order wrong. So when I called the carry out to let them know. I explained what I ordered and what I received. The owner is a Chinese lady that was always smiles when I would come in. On this day she did not want to talk to me and apologized she sent out an employee to tell me that she was not going to fix the order. So I asked for my money back with resistance. Please be away if you go to this establishment they don't care about you or about the neighborhood that they are in. All they want is your money and they expect you to give it to them regardless is they get it right or not! Just know that you have been warned!

One of my favorite parts was that they give whole pieces of bacon, unlike other places, the bacon is cut and they put a few pieces but this one was so good and the bacon was fresh and crispy as well too! My Husband and I did not go inside because it was raining but you could also tell everyone gets in and gets out. We did not see one person to pull up and stay to eat after getting their order, everyone pulled off right away. Overall, the workers were kind and the food was amazing. I have no complaints, only compliments!

My…read morehusband and I have been frequently coming there for at least six months-- probably at least once or twice a week. I asked for a burger with slaw and chili on the side as I didn't want it to get soggy on the 30 minute drive home. Yes you heard that right 30 minute drive home. She informed me that there would be an up charge. Not to mention a VERY small cup of chili is three dollars. I declined as I thought "it's not that big of a deal right". Proceed to open up my burger when I get home and the bun is literally soggy and falling apart. I have been in the Food service business for quite some time and I have never heard of a charge for putting WET condiments on the side. I called and asked about it. The lady was extremely rude and couldn't give me an explanation as to why. As much as we really love this place, after the last couple visits, we will not be returning! I did want to mention, there is a young girl approximately mid to late 20s with Sandy blonde hair who is extremely friendly. She always works during the day and I believe up until around 4 o'clock! She is wonderful
