I would give 5 stars if it wasnt for the care i received from a PA named madline tiffany. I've had countless problems with this PA over the spand of every appointment. Each time i would try and communicate with Madline Tiffany, she would acknowledge me, smile, and even nod and say "yes". But sure enough, she would have a completey different treatment plan and tell me one thing, but the does something different without telling me. She has a very hard time listening and she is very hard headed. I did not receive good helath care from this PA. Dr Stephan and his assistant sara C. Are great! read more

I am very happy with the care and attention I've received over the last couple years here. I believe I was one of their first clients when they were first getting established in 2015. I came here because they accepted Medi-Cal and they could see me the same day for an issue and Chapa De couldn't see me for 3 months. Since then I've seen them increase their staff, services offered, and clientele. I have received care for a couple different conditions, some with quick fixes and some without. I've found that they are willing to prescribe what is needed, but they also have worked with me to find more natural strategies when the side effects from the prescriptions were too great. I want to especially applaud Dr. Kuninobu and Dr. Steffens for taking the time to find a correct diagnosis instead of simply treating symptoms. That seems like a hard thing to accomplish in many modern day health care settings. They are pretty tech-centric which another reviewer seems to have not enjoyed. The doctor brings his laptop into each visit and keeps detailed records of the visit and can access information prior visits. The doctors and the assistants all work around a common island which seems like that would be useful for easy team communication. As I understand it, the Weimar Institute has a vegetarian, Christian philosophy, and Weimar Family Care is located on the campus. As a non-vegetarian and a non-religious person, I haven't found them to be pushy with either of these things. In my experience they are not discussed during visits, and the only way I would know is by some of the pamphlets dispersed around the patient waiting rooms. On a side note, there are miles of really nice hiking trails on the Weimar Institute campus. read more

I've had appointments with Dr. Sreffans and staff. I found him and his staff responsive, concerned and very professional. As a refugee from the VA medical care system I've seen truly poor medical care-- I see from the other postings that some people don't know how good they have it. Then there are those with the personalities and temperament that no matter what occurs they are unhappy. Ultimately you are responsible for caring for yourself and making the changes needed to attain optimal health. The office is at the old, but modernized, Weimar Institute- They offer courses in health maintenance and have a beautiful campus in the Pines. There is a long history of positive healing energy there like no other. I feel sorry for those unable to feel that. We are lucky to have a place like Weimar Family Care in the community that is not so formerly aligned with Big HMOs and group think medical practice. The staff is caring and prompt . I am a native of Auburn and know the history of the campus. It has been around a long time and has healed thousands of people. I plan on having Dr. Steffans be my Primary Care Physician. read more

Update 5 days later with my root canal. Tooth split in half. Wouldn't recommend going here for dental.

Steer clear of this place if you value your health and/or are in serious need of quality medical care. I went here because I was told Dr. Steffens was a LLMD who accepted my insurance. The building of the clinic looks like part of a run down, dilapidated insane asylum commune. Empty waiting room each time I went, with one adult receptionist and kids running the place. Dr. Steffens could not have acted less concerned about my serious health problems and wouldn't listen to my symptoms. He couldn't find my blood results twice and blamed me... Also couldn't remember prescriptions he'd written me just two weeks prior. Carelessly rushed through each of my visits to sit on his laptop at a counter afterward and await the empty waiting room...? Seemed annoyed I couldn't afford expensive igenex test yet had no alternative diagnosis/treatment suggestions besides that. If I'm going to pay that much it'll be with a doctor with adequate bedside manner and professionalism. read more

Sadly I agree with both people, this is not the place for anyone who wants good, compassionate care, I have been a patient for 4 months and have seen 3 different Doctors, each with their own agenda. Their bedside manner is non-existing although Dr K my 2nd visit is kind and listens. Upon my 1st visit Dr. Gallant prayed for me told me my problems would go away if I went to a plant base diet, stop all dairy and my pain would then go away (darn why didn't I think of that). On my 4th visit I was told I could not get my prescriptions renewed until I signed a contract and gave them a urine sample I was treated like a drug addict, I am not but do take pain meds for a broken back, broken neck and spinal damage. I did not pick this place my Insurance did, I have since changed Dr. and pray no one else is treated the way I was. read more

They should call it the Weimar Wizard of Oz family care clinic, Dr Steffens sits in a room and pulls the strings of his interns while they do the actual patient visits, and when they don't know what to do which is often, they leave the room to seek advice from the Great Oz for his infinite wisdom, some of them are very kind and actually do care (the receptionists) but Dr Steffens comes off as an arrogant know it all that thinks everyone is a hypochondriac. They don't like to do referral research for patients that need a specialist and when they do its the wrong kind of doctor, then they ask the patient to find a doctor and let them know the doctors name so they can put in the referral as if they actually did the work. I have been diagnosed by real doctors for real medical conditions and its taken many years to figure out what medications work for me but as soon as I walked into this office ,and without any tests or facts or research they want to switch all of my prescription meds to over the counter strength, and when I refused they sent me packing with a letter of non-compliance to their standards and said that I would need to see a specialist if I wanted to continue the treatments ive been getting(yes I know! and I have to have a referral from your office to see one Dr Dolittle!). Probably a great place to go if you have a common cold but anything beyond that is too hard for them to comprehend read more

Horrible Family Practice would not recommend. Took my 7 year old & 4 year old in yesterday one for a physical and one for her yearly check up. I will say the ladies at the front desk were very kind and that's about as good as it gets. When we got called back everything was fine then we went into a pretty small room and they 2 NA's in the room to take blood pressure, temps etc. they each had their laptops which is fine but 5 people 2 machines 2 laptops it was just extremely over crowded and people stepping on each other etc. When I made the appointment I was very clear about it being a physical for preschool for my 4 yr old but for some odd reason the Medical assistant not the doctor had no clue how to do the physical and was asking me what to do. So then she gets another person to help with the physical and she was ok but still seemed like she was confused. Then the hearing test came along and they had to go and find the hearing machine and then they expected my 4 yr old to do this long extensive hearing test, which has never happened before at any of our other physical appointments. The tech or helper whatever you would call it left the room and I could hear the doctor tell him that we needed to go somewhere else because supposedly my daughter wasn't cooperating. Ummm no its because you have no clue what your doing. I grabbed my daughters and walked out, and received not one apology from the doctor or NA. the only people who apologized were the front desk staff. Would not recommend this place and I cant believe anyone would actually continue to seek care from this facility after even 1 visit. Even though the NA had little experience or knowledge they were nice people. The Doctor I believe Dr. Randall flat rude and literally doesn't give 1 S@#$ about his patients. read more

I needed to have some paperwork filled out but the physicians on staff cannot complete this because the person who performed my physical is no longer working there. They did try to work with me and give me an alternative but when that wouldn't work, they wanted to charge me for a second physical for the year. This is baloney, I already had a physical. It is not my fault that they are having staffing issues. I will gladfully take my medical business elsewhere. I kind of suggest you do too.

I am not sure what happened with the other reviewers of Dr. Steffens, but I had a wonderful experience with him and his staff. My children (ages 17 and 20) were diagnosed with Lyme disease. I searched all over Northern California for a doctor that was not only Lyme literate, but took insurance. During my search, I found that most doctors require a cash payment which is usually in the $600-750 range. He not only took my insurance, but he also had an opening that allowed me get my kids in to see him within 2 weeks.The office is in an older building, yes, but they are remodeling and adding many services, including dental. We drove three hours to see him and were very pleased with Dr. Steffen's evaluation of the blood tests and his treatment recommendation. His assistants took my children's medical history and vitals and after a very short wait, the doctor came in and gave us a very thorough explanation of the medication he would be putting them on. He also explained what to expect as possible reactions to the medication and answered all of my questions. He took a good amount of time in telling us what their diagnosis meant for the future. He doesn't work with chronic Lyme patients and he patiently explained how it was different from what my children have. I have a huge sense of relief today as I know that on the other side of this my children were taken care of by someone with experience and knowledge about the disease. read more

I have had very positive experiences with Weimar Family Care and Dr Steffens. They have competently cared for myself and my family. I recently had an injury to my shoulder and visited Weimar Family Care. Wait time was minimal, staff very helpful and outgoing. The X-ray tech is one of the nicest people I have ever met. They had the xray results back immediately, showed I broke my collar bone. Dr Steffens treated and accurately described what I could expect. They made my experience as comfortable and efficient as possible. I routinely see Dr Steffens for my chronic needs, and appreciate his focus on prevention and counseling. He talks more about the importance of lifestyle changes than just taking medicine. He is fascinating to talk to and will often give interesting facts about supplements, important foods, exercise, etc. I am bewildered by the two negative reviews below. I have seen someone leaving the waiting room angry because they don't prescribe narcotics here, and can only guess that this was the issue. Weimar Family Care has been a blessing and a Godsend for me and my family. Having so many services available and accepting all insurance types is a real asset to our community. The other comments below are absurd and deserve no consideration. Who knows what they were wanting or what they didn't get, but they certainly have no basis in reality! The clinic is always clean and staffed by very professional and kind doctors and nurses. It has become extremely busy the past several times I have been there, so be sure to schedule an appointment. It is the one-stop-shop in this community with many primary care doctors, lifestyle doctors (lifestyle and diet is a huge thing here), dentists, and specialists. The clinic is on the campus of Weimar Institute, which has fun stuff nearby like the "Weimart" natural foods store and vegan cafeteria, both across the parking area. The NEWSTART lifestyle program is a world-renown residential lifestyle alteration program that is also on this campus. Overall, the highest caliber of doctors and healthcare providers you could find. read more

My family and I have received care at Weimar Family Care on several occasions. We have always been impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism of all staff. Wait times are minimal, and they always seem like they know what they are doing (no billing issues or missing results?) I also appreciate their famed focus on preventive care and changing diet and lifetyle to avoid and treat disease. I have met several of their specialists, and it is nice to have specialty care on site so I don't need to travel. I always leave with a smile and feel like the quality of care is very good. I would never want to go to another doctor. Ask for dr Steffens or Dr Jeanette. read more

I have seen Dr. Marianna, Dr. Glass, & Dr. Stephens. ALL have made me feel very welcomed. I have been going on a regular basis for approx. 3 months now and they have done more for me than my Dr in San Jose did in the 4 years I was there. About 7-8 years ago i was put on Methadone for pain management. Well with the prescription pain pill epidemic now, I was starting to be treated like a drug addict and Im far from that. This Dr's office DID NOT make me feel judged and per my request, have helped me switch to a better medication that has helped me tremendously. I can't thank the Dr's enough!!!! read more

They are the most caring doctors and nurses I have met. I appreciate Dr Steffens education and the way he focuses more on prevention than on medicines to cover up symptoms. The clinic is very clean and growing and it seems like each time I come back they are offering a new service, they said chiropractor and dentist will start taking appointments in January. Dr Steffens, johnny, Candice have all changed my life. I would place my life or the lives of my family in any of their hands. I recommend these nice Christian people. read more

I love this health care clinic. They are so knowledgeable. They are willing to try alternative treatments and have extended hours . They also even pray with you if you want and really care about the patients . I recommend them to EVERYONE . It is worth the drive to get care like this . I've been going here for the past month or so and couldn't be happier. The receptionist is great, every nurse I've met has been fantastic and Dr.Bria is awesome. They made me feel very comfortable and answered all my medical questions. I drive a half hour out of my way to go to this Doctor and it's worth it. The office itself is very nice and clean.
