I love this office the staff and Dr.s nurses are awesome, wait time is minimal, like 5 mins after…read morecheck in to be roomed, and another 5-10 mins to be seen by the provider, the office is super clean. All, but one provider are compassionate, knowledgeable, and great listeners! I especially like Kirsten George, and Joshua Laird-Wilson. This office is also a one-stop shop, they do primary care for adults, kids, gynecology, mental health, and pain management. I highly recommend them. If I need an urgent appointment it is usually available within a week, but they also have several other locations in Placer, Nevada, and Yuba counties, as well as an urgent care center in Grass Valley. my experiences there have been great and my whole family goes there, and I've seen all of the providers but one, all except for one were great experiences. The below review is about the terrible experience I had today with Dr. Kelada, if you choose to go to this office, do not let them schedule you with him, you will regret it. Please see the review below summarizing my experience. Thank you. :)
I saw Dr. Kelada today at Western Sierra Medical Clinic in Auburn. I've been with the office for a few months and the staff as well as other providers are wonderful, Dr. Kelada however is not. my Dr. is on maternity leave, so I scheduled to see Dr. Kelada for a follow up to some labs (I have a rare disease) and for him to go over/sign my advanced directive. He started the appointment by going over the advanced directive, when we were done with that I started to ask him to look at my recent lab results and wanted to talk about new symptoms, and some other issues. He was very rude, stopped me and told me that this appointment was only listed as being for the advanced directive and told me that I need to be more specific when scheduling my appts. I told him that this appt was actually initially scheduled as a follow up and later I called the call center for an appt to go over the advanced directive and they told me they would add it on to this appt.He yelled at me for what was a staff error. He then went through my list of current meds and proceeded to lecture me how I shouldn't be taking "x" medicine and no one with my condition should ever take it. I tried to explain to him why. Once he was done berating me for that and he let me explain why it was prescribed he actually agreed that it is okay and apologized for not having asked me why I take it before going off on me. He then decided to tell me some things in a very cold way, he's super condescending, and has the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced and I've been seen by a lot of doctors everywhere from Stanford to community clinics. I then told him about symptoms including a dislocated rib that I have, something that is unfortunately frequent for me due to my condition and he got up to leave the room and said I'll have to schedule to see him again in a week to go over my other symptoms, I stopped him and asked if I can at least get a refill on my pain medication as it has been painful to breathe and I am running low. He refused and left the room. i followed him out to schedule with the medical assistant in the hallway and he's about to enter another room to see the next patient and he turns around and yells at me to be more specific when I schedule my appt. The medical assistant saw this and had a shocked look on her face and proceeded to silently mouth "I'm so sorry " to me. As I said before, this office has great doctors, front and back office staff, so she pulls me into a room and apologized and basically said they he is very difficult and doesn't like to prescribe pain medication. I've been a patient at this office for awhile and all of the other doctors have no issues with giving it to me since I am responsible with it, but most importantly NEED it as I dislocate bones on a daily basis due to my disease. Every other doctor in this office is compassionate and listens and genuinely care about the patients, Dr. Kelada is the exception. So, I highly recommend Western Sierra Medical Clinic and their providers except him. Oh, and he FORGOT to sign my advanced directive, so now I have to reschedule and basically redo today's appt. If he can't even remember such an important detail, I wonder what else he misses.
