***Attention hardware dufus(s) like ME!***…read more As I grill here in my backyard with this free time, I realize what someone did for me was very special... If you're looking for some expert hardware advice, go here and ask for Jim Shellenberger. Jim has always steered me straight very quickly. He knows where all the pieces are that you need, and it turns out most of the time they only cost $.45 each. I know Jim from a long time ago when I worked with his wife at the State, and he's always been friendly to me. When I go in and I have a problem I ask for Jim by name. If he's there, the. I'm out in just a few minutes. There are other people that will help, too, but Jim is the best. Keep that in mind and go out and work in your garage -- and shine! Check out the problem Jim solved for me with three or four of these little loop pieces. I was going to install conduit to run this electric line over a gate that I have. This is the electric fence for our dogs. Instead of conduit, he suggested metal screw loops and running the wire through these loops. Here's a picture. What I did is I went in and told him my plan and showed him the pictures, and he suggested this. It was so easy...and he save a dufus like me about 4 hours and $60!!! Round of applause for one of the gems of Southeast Topeka!

If you need a car key cut and programmed do not go here. Needed a new key for my son's car. Brought…read morethe old key and the car up and it took them an hour to get it cut and try to program it. They got the new key to start the car but none of the keyless entry buttons would work. They told us to come back another day and they will try. Couple days later we came back and they spent another 45 minutes trying and still couldn't get it. Then they told us to pay some other places to get it programmed but wouldn't offer a partial refund because they couldn't provide the service that was included in the price of the key. I will say the person we got the first time had decent customer service while he was struggling. The second person had a piss poor attitude and was extremely rude. Even ignored us for a while. I suggested they put up a sign or tell people up front that they can't program all cars so people can make a good decision before they spend over $150 on a key.

This Target needed a facelift for sometime, hopefully they will bring more current products here as well! I dislike that I can't get some of the same items here in Topeka like I can in KC. I needed tube amp repaired and Kansas Guitar highly recommended I take my amp to Ryan Verthein an…read moreamp technician that they said is their tech guy! I gave a hundred down just so he would trust me to work on my amp he didn't ask for it I wanted to do good business, it was blowing a fuse when secondary was plugged in but stayed on with tubes lit as long as secondary was unplugged so the problem was isolated! I get amp back of 3 weeks an now the power tubes won't light an a couple of preamp tubes won't light! An he is putting his gages to everything a says the circuit passes continuity and voltage, everything reads out right including the ground but tubes just won't light!? For 1 that makes no sense at all if everything thing reads out properly then it would work! So he kept the $100 dollars and damaged my amp in multiple areas on separate boards! He was saying I'll need to replace the power tube board and preamp board! He took out low amp slow burners and placed in higher rating fuses in their place, that's a no no! You can go lower but not higher! Probably fried components! Like why did you refer me to this guy I trusted you when you advised me and referred me to him! Like he was playing games with my amp, if your recommended by a guitar store then you know everything must not read out right or it would work! That's very simple to understand! Now an easy fix has become a costly mistake and still have to pay to have much more repaired now! In conclusion don't recommend Ryan Verthein to other artists for amp repairs! An I will also not be doing business with Kansas Guitar because the trust is broken, I thought better of this guitar shop!
