I can't begin to say how much I love Wegman's. They are a one stop shop for all your food needs. There is your traditional grocery stuff with wonderful selections of different ethnic food, gluten free and vegan options too. They have a huge selection of produce and fresh meats too. They also have a deli with endless choices of meats and cheeses from around the world. There are hot food items you can pick up and eat at their tables upstairs and prepacked ready to go items to take home and cook or heat up. There is a sandwich bar, a wide selection of soups, sushi and glorious hot wings. Is there anything they don't have?? Chances are if your are craving something, Wegman's can satisfy even the most eclectic desires. I do have to give a special mention about how wonderful Wegman's was during the 2016 Jonas Blizzard. We were staying in a hotel right outside of the strip mall area. We made sure to stock up at Wegman's prior to the blizzard, along with everyone else in that area of Virginia. Pretty much the whole DC/Dulles area was closed down for 2 days during the blizzard. Some Wegman's employees were also staying at our hotel. On the worst day of the blizzard, a few Wegman's employees trudged through blizzard conditions and 3 feet of snow to go pick up fixin's (I'm not even kidding, the blizzard broke records in the area). That night, they treated the WHOLE HOTEL to a yummy spaghetti dinner for FREE. It tasted terrific! The next night they also provided soup and hot dogs for everyone. Wegman's really is the best. Once the blizzard slowed down, the store opened for just a few hours to help locals restock and pick up emergency items. Their dedication to excellent customer service and the finest quality goods is something I wish I would see more of across the country! read more

Wegmans is a massive grocery store filled with just about anything you might need food-wise. It also has so much more, like seasonal decorations for the home. I think to really get familiarized with all that Wegmans has to offer, you really need a couple of hours. I am particularly impressed with their apple selection, deli area (cheese & meats), bakery, and seasonal food items (stollen, fruitcake, apple cider). I've also never been to a grocery store with such great baking and cake decorating supplies. Prices are reasonable, shelves are well organized, and the workers here are helpful and friendly. Somehow, despite Wegmans size, it feels like a warm, inviting, neighborhood grocery store. I wish I had more time to explore and taste everything Wegmans has to offer. read more

I am sad to formally announce that this Wegmans and I have officially ended our relationship. Now, I am certain you are on the edge of your seat wondering what dramatic event caused the eventual downfall of our beautiful union. Although it is difficult, I shall explain the reasoning behind my difficult decision: 1) This location has a terrible problem meeting my shopping needs. From eggs to salsa to bottled water and chips and cheese, all too often I find it has empty shelves. That is just simply not the agreement. 2) Their refrigerated/fresh food department appears to have ongoing problems with proper temperature control and sanitation. I have even seen spilled blood and obviously rotten meat - yuck! The black lining on the cooler shelves desperately needs replacing and there is obvious mold growth in some spots. In short, I need a cleaner shopping partner. 3) On a bright note, this location attempts to woo me with a range of healthier, alternative food items. They offer a wide variety of gluten free foods and healthy, tasty treats. However, that's just not enough to keep our relationship intact. I wish them all the best! read more

My go-to for groceries, quick eats, wine and catering. Wegmans has everything you could want in a grocery store and more. Start with the market cafe where you can find any type of cuisine to eat right on the spot. From asian to Indian to salads to subs to pizza to sushi, it's all available. As you walk further down you got the bakery and protein/produce area. Everything from fresh baked bread to pastries and cakes while across from that is the fresh lobsters, fish, red meat and any other mouth watering protein. As you go around past the olive section and cheese station, you get to the wine section. A huge variety of wine from so many areas along with a nice selection of beers. They could expand the beer section and I'm sure they will at some point but right now wine is their specialty. Further down after your typical isles of grocery food are the international rows: the United Nations of ingredients. Everything from Italian to Asian to Mexican to Middle Eastern to African; you've traveled around the culinary globe after going through those rows of ingredients. Epic! Ending with a stop at the many registers where you find out the prices match the quality, much cheaper than Harris teeter or giant and better quality. Had a bad experience at Wegmans Dulles, today 02 July 23- actually located in Sterling Virginia. As I , my wife and my daughter walked into the store and turned right to catch the elevator to the second floor two Wegmans employees were staring at my wife and daughter in a disrespectful manner. We got on the elevator, on the way down the same two employees still talking and standing around again starred at my wife and daughter ( my 17 year old daughter felt very uncomfortable). We went to the customer service front desk to complain and a guy called Mike, told us that he would have a talk with them. However, he never asked for their names of anything else. He took our complaint in a very unprofessional manner. Once we arrive home we called 1-800 Wegmans and filed a complaint. The person who answered the phone on their customer service line was very professional and customer oriented. Hopefully, we can have a good outcome. I really love wegmans in general. This was a good trip but it was a little weird. I've been to quite a few Wegmans but this one was weird in that it was backwards and flipped so we were a bit disoriented in finding things. Most Wegmans have a nearly identical layout and at most would be reversed but still in a particular order. I mean it wasn't the end of the world but if you're used to going to Wegmans and haven't been to this one yet, just beware that your brain might have to do some mental gymnastics to get oriented in the store. Other than the uncommon layout, the experience was great, the food was fresh, and the staff was super helpful and expedient. I am grateful I won't have to go back to this particular location because I'm apparently not okay with how different the layout is (LOL sorry its too hard) but its a great store and I appreciate that the food was fresh and wanted to buy all the seafood and produce. read more

This is my favorite supermarket in Loudoun county. I come here to buy all my meats. Their steaks are great quality and are priced well. I often get the bone in pork shoulder and it's always delicious and also a great deal. They bake lots of their goods right in house and some of my favorites are the pecan sticky buns and bagels. The cheese section is amazing and is sure to satisfy any picky cheese snob. The "wegmans" brand items are often a go to for me, things like eggs, burger buns, pastas, salad dressings and canned foods are great quality and are a fraction of the cost of other brands. Floral department is stocked with large variety of fresh seasonal, inexpensive flowers. The produce section is disorganized, it takes me forever to figure out where items are and their produce can be better presented. Always look forward to coming here and doing my weekly shopping. read more

Yesterday we were in this area running errands so decided to grab our groceries here instead of trekking out to Fairfax. After chatting with the woman in the fish market we learned that yesterday's rush (pre-snowpocalypse round, what, 8?) exceeded their usual Christmas rush! But there she was, still smiling and happy to be there talking to us. To me it's as much the people as the products that make Wegmans so great! Dear Wegmans Leadership, will you please speak with your cashiers and tell them to stop turning people away when they have been waiting in the line and the light is ON when they approach checkout. I thought this was a fluke the first time. It's NEVER happened at any other grocery store. It has happened over and over with the cashiers at this Wegmans. I thought cashiers were trained to take everyone in line that approaches when the light is ON. I wait and wait and put all my stuff on the belt only for them to flick the light off right in front of me and tell me they are closed. Aren't they supposed to turn the light off, but still take those that approached when the light is on and have already spent time putting stuff on the belt???? Also the cashiers that do this are BEYOND RUDE. I don't get why it always happens here. To the cashiers: ask yourself this. Why do you think the light was put in place to begin with? It is to communicate that your lane is open. Not that you are open in that moment but you might close any second and the person has to go wait in a new line. Retraining is definitely needed here!!! Also take some advice from Chick A Filet customer service folks. Come on guys this is bad. read more

If you can't find something, you will never find someone to help you who knows where anything is in the store. Many times over the years I've been told "we don't have that" when they do. They have so many employees roaming around the store but more than likely they are in the way if you are trying to shop. I've only recently started going back once in a while because when the pandemic started and there were mask mandates, their employees were often without them. I learned to only go near closing when the store was empty. I asked one checker why she wasn't wearing a mask and she pointed and told me to ask the manager who was standing there maskless. I love this supermarket! When I first moved here, my assumption was Wegman's pricing is probably similar to WholeFoods. They have a similar look and feel and Wegman's carries a greater variety than WF. I was pleasant ly surprised that Wegman's prices were very reasonable and no where as expensive as WF. They have a great bakery. I love their jalapeño cheese bread, raspberry mousse cake, boatel and their ACME smoked salmon slivers. Wegmans staff and customer service are friendly, polite, and extremely efficient. We have had only good experiences with everyone at the store. Employees working the floor actually know where items are, and when they don't, they immediately find out and walk me to the appropriate location. This is amazing when compared to my local Safeway! We have had particularly good experiences with Wegmans pharmacy. The pharmacists (particularly Mac) have caught interactions and issues our doctors missed. They strive to find us the lowest possible price for each script. Reminders for refills are efficient, and pick up text reminders include the name of the medication and the cost. I've had experience with CVS and their text reminders - they don't even tell you the name of the medication. Pharmacists at CVS are polite, but only marginally helpful. I don't go there as often as I used to: it is obvious that Danny Wegman and his family are jacking the prices up way above the rate of inflation to fund Danny's retirement. In the last year, some items have gone up three or four times. Very few items are on sale compared to what they used to be, and their digital coupons are worthless. read more

This is the Mecca of Grocery Stores!! The kind of grocery store you want to take family to when they are in town just so they can see how big and grand it is!! I've done this..lol! But seriously if you ever find a recipe online and think I wonder where I can get that pepper or who has that type of seafood...look no further Wegmans has what you are looking for! They even have folks cooking samples during the weekends and we have come to love "the veggie man" who sautés interesting veggies on the weekends! They used to have a kids area where you can drop your kids off so you can shop in peace but that has now closed and turned into the home delivery area! They also conduct kids cooking classes on weekends which are so darn cute!! They also have a buffet area if you want to pick up quick lunch or dinner and an upstairs eating area! Excellent store. A bit far away from me, but it's always a pleasant experience visiting any Wegmans. The employees are really nice and the store is clean, organized and well stocked. There are items here that you cannot find elsewhere like the pastries. The fruit tarts are really amazing here. All of their pastries are so good. They have a large selection of produce, imported goods and local goods. They also have some bulk options and make your own nut butter section. They have a large selection of cheese and wines. Wegmans café and seats on the second floor make it a convenient place to study, eat, hang out. Compared to Whole Foods, this is a better option because the prices are better. read more

Purchased the spicy tuna roll and it was bad(like make you sick bad). I called Wegmans and they were not concerned just told me to bring back the carton for a refund. So first of all we live 20 minutes away so not convenient and second they didn't seem Too concerned that they are serving bad tuna that could potentially make people sick. I've noticed a lot of items from manufacturers are doing the same making the packages and containers smaller. It may be a few ounces. And this is how my Wegman's review begins: When I have to drive somewhere, I make a point of taking the path of least resistance. For example, the most direct way might be a route that has lots of congestion, many traffic lights and harrowing merge points. I think this through and come up with a less stressful way to get there. Mind you, I have my limits---I won't drive miles out of my way to get someplace. My husband is the opposite. Lots of congestion, traffic lights and bad merge points? No problem! Now you're wondering what this has to do with Wegman's. I will explain. When this Wegman's first opened, it was the first Wegman's to come to NoVA. The first day it opened, it was reported that 10,000 people showed up. The sheriff's department had to have several deputies out there directing traffic. Needless to say, we didn't go that day. Instead, we waited for all the fuss to die down. Approaching from Sterling, we drive down Church Road over to the other side of Route 28. VDOT really screwed up the interchange here (well...in my opinion). My husband was doing the driving. When you get to where southbound traffic is coming off 28, the sightlines are partly obscured which is bad as you need to get into that merge lane to get to Wegman's. Meanwhile, people coming off 28 want to get out of the merge lane. Well...we couldn't get into the lane...and...the traffic light at the entrance just changed. Thus, we were forced to drive up the road, and do a U-turn. My husband was not a happy camper. We tried doing this trip later on to go to a restaurant in there and had the same results. At that point, my husband said he wasn't going to go to Wegman's again. He got no argument from me. So...we looked to see if we could get there on a road that parallels 28 --- no luck there. This nagged at my husband. On the weekends, he would sometimes explore roads off Route 606 to see if there was one that didn't dead end. Well...finally, he found an easier way in there! Nokes Road eventually went across 28 and met up with Pacific Blvd. Success! Round about, yes, but much, much easier. I don't go to Wegman's that much. The majority of my shopping is done at Harris-Teeter. Wegman's has become the place to go if I can't find something at "The Teet". It's pretty much guaranteed that Wegman's will have it. So...trips to Wegman's involve shopping for a missing recipe ingredient plus some other impulse shopping. Wegman's is indeed, huge. I love browsing the ready made foods section. Plus they have an amazing selection of sushi/sashimi. What I don't like about Wegmans---it feels very impersonal. I go to "The Teet", the cashiers remember me and chat with me. The guy at the sushi counter knows that my husband wants tuna nigiri and will try to have some made up before I get there. If it's not there, he makes it for me. Somehow, I can't imagine connecting with employees at Wegman's that way. That's not to say that I ever encountered a rude employee---it's just not as personal a shopping experience. Still...I'm glad Wegman's is there. It's nice knowing that I can find what I need when "The Teet", Giant or Safeway doesn't have it. read more

Having spent a lot of time in Central New York, Wegman's is no secret. Low prices, great selection, and friendly service. But living here in the D.C. area, people are flippin' for this great grocery store. A GROCERY STORE!!!!!! Granted, the Wegman's in upstate NY aren't as fancy and upscale as the ones here, but everything else is still the same. You can find items here that you can't find at the other local supermarkets. Regional items from NY and PA. Safeway & Giant are in big trouble. That's why a lot of them have remodeled to be more inviting than the old versions of themselves. But, Wegman's will always be ahead of the curve with their fresh made food like the buffet, soups, bread, dessert, subs, pizza, wings, and hot items. The freshest seafood and larget selection of deli items, cheese, wine, & beer. You can spend hours shopping at Wegman's. There is even a children's play area next to the customer service desk. What other grocery store does this???? The only complaint is getting in and out of this particular Wegman's. Pacific Blvd. and Columbia Plaza in the Dulles 28 Center is one of the worst areas to navigate. But it's worth it! :) And I do get some thumbs up by the employees (who migrated from upstate NY) when I wear my Syracuse Orange gear! read more

There is a reason they call Wegmans the "Disneyland" of grocery stores, WOW!!! just WOW! Super impressed and totally wish there were Wegmans in California. So many fresh choices in their bakery, deli and hot foods department, its truly remarkable. Almost TOO many choices! I love how they have mini pastries and cookies by the pound, the displays are beautiful and make you darn right hungry. We tried their signature white and chocolate cakes, they were extremely rich and buttery, delicious for sure. Also purchased a few of the breads from the bakery department as well as a mousse cake, all very yummy. But the Chocolate Peanut Cookie by the pound amazingness we had, was out of the park delicious! Such a beautiful sushi station, so many choices and we loved that they make their own tortillas as well, a little something for everyone. Three and a half stars. Crowded at lunch prime time since it seems to be the go-to spot for the industrial companies around here. My coworker loves getting the asian buffet by the pound, but I was perfectly happy to settle for nigiri sushi and a cream soda. The peking pork from the asian wokery is too sweet, barbeque pork too dry, and the dumplings too bland and greasy. Salt and pepper squid is decent. Packaged wasabi is pretty standard, but the packaged ginger still weirds me out. And don't let the honey crisp apple fans get started. read more

I have wandered up and down the aisle this enormous Wegmans every time I go to DC for work. Granted, the only time i was able to come here was late at night when the hot prepared foods section has already closed. Although they do have some uncommon prepared foods (Indian-like curries, Japanese, comfort American, Thai), a glance at the ingredients list makes me cringe with preservative disgust. Sorry Wegmans, I am going to stick to your Cesar salad and not use the chemical infested cream you call dressing. I'm being a bit too critical so here are some good points about Wegmans. They do have food items I have never seen in a super regional before. And I really like their private label, albeit still pretty pricey. $8 for a can of salted Virginia peanuts--boiled perfectly, gigantic, and delicious i might add. Well, for review 400, I thought I'd review my favorite grocery store. I'd give it 5 stars but honestly trying to get in/out is a bit crazy, I have to plan my route accordingly as I don't have a death wish. I've been shopping here for several years which is all the more surprising that I'm finally getting around to reviewing. This store is clean, although generally always crowded. Their Wegman's branded items have always been quality too. I especially am a fan of their sushi selection, fresh and tasty so occasionally if I'm grocery shopping I'll pick up sushi for lunch the following day. Although due to the challenges of getting in and out of here, I usually reserve Wegmans trips for big groceries. This store is generally well stocked and can usually find what I need. They've changed the layout a few times over the years so sometimes I have to try and figure out where things moved too. Good prices the cashiers at the check out are friendly, some of the other staff on the floor have been a bit terse but I generally know what I'm going in for and don't need to ask for assistance. Also there's an eating area on the upper level of the store, so you can actually have a meal there. There's a big hot bar, and nice salad bar. You can also get pizza, sandwiches, a wing bar, and a coffee bar area there. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience today. I had finished shopping and was using the self-checkout register where there were two high-school-aged employees loitering around the area, invading the personal space of customers, and treating them suspiciously without rhyme or reason. I think of Wegmans as being a more up-scale store so I don't understand why customers are being treated as criminals, nor why the store is hiring disrespectful children. read more
