I didn't really understand what all the hype was about this place until I tried it for myself. Note: I have been here multiple times just to make sure I gave this place a chance. From the moment you walk in they catch your eyes with their hot items. The things that are flying off the shelves. These folks are smart too because when you turn left all you see are desserts and hot food. It's a unique way they have it set-up because the grocery type food is to the right and you can't really tell because your eyes are so focused on the cards and delicious fresh smells. I'm getting hungry writing this. They serve everything and what's even better it's not overpriced. Keep walking back and you'll see the wine and cheese section. Did I mention they will let you sample ANYTHING in the store! No lie I have asked them to try cheeses and hot foods before putting it in my cart and they told me I could sample whatever I wanted to! Not sure if this applies to their grocery side, but hey free samples is how you win me over! This store is worth the hype. It's like a grocery store and restaurant put together. I had never heard of Wegmans before all the hype about it opening in this area. It's a great store but it's so BIG !! That's not a good thing. The parking garage is huge. Going to Wegmans is almost like an afternoon outing. I don't see what's so great about it yet. Maybe if I go again and it's not so crowded I will update my review. There is a wine store within this store. Never seen so much wine in a grocery store. All price points. One section for "$6 wines". I noticed some great deals on some items (like any store has) and some items that were pricey. I am planning on coming back on a weekday and partake in some of the food bars. This isn't the type of store that you can run in and grab just a few items. With traffic and the growth of this shopping area it's a process to just get in and out. read more

Finally, Raleigh has a Wegmans! I'm so thrilled that I finally have a place to get Whole Foods-level produce at a Food Lion price. I went today, a few weeks after opening and I found it the worst shopping experience I have had. You go in mid store which means there isn't a rhyme or rhythm to the store flow and because of the small aisles - you are constantly having to ask people to move. I did notice the majority of shoppers seemed to be sets, 2 friends each shopping or couples. I think that would be the only way you could enjoy this experience one constantly maneuvering the basket while the other shops. Pulling from aisle Part A to Part B of the same aisle with the center Lane is about like merging onto the beltline at rush hour. The good is they do carry a few items I haven't seen in other stores and they have a selection of Goya products that is very impressive. As was their selection of Asian cooking sauces, but I don't know if I will ever do more than a few item pickup here because I did find the layout and the volume of customers to be outside my comfort zone. read more

I feel like it's interesting to rate a grocery store. My go to stores have always been (and still are), Harris Teeter & Trader Joe's. That being said, I've only been to Wegmans once. Wegmans is pretty overwhelming. However, it's pretty amazing at the same time. I have discovered some phenomenal wines and charcuterie items (the roasted tomatoes are to die for). Try those with fresh mozzarella and a crostini - just wow. The wine selection might as well be an actual wine store. The prices are similar to Harris Teeter, yet a little bit more pricey minus the specials. There should be more weekly specials on common items. I definitely want to try the burgers, pizza, and subs! I'll be back for sure! There are so many options to meet needs for any event or dining situation. read more

OMG Yes! Thank you Thank you Thank you Danny (and the rest of the corp office) for deciding to open some locations in Raleigh! This store seems a little smaller than the Virginia stores, but nonetheless, it's Wegmans, and it's in Raleigh! The line to get in at the Grand Opening was not awful, the line to check out ended up being much more efficient than I expected. They had my Zweigles, they had my Bison dip, they had my bride's Grandma Brown's, they had my salt potatoes, Nance's mustard, Weber's horseradish mustard - the only thing I couldn't find that I was specifically looking for was the Bill Gray's hot sauce. The Burger Bar was an interesting addition as opposed to a Pub. Competitive everyday pricing is a plus! Sorry to see there are naysayers and people who were displeased, all I can say is I love this family owned store. read more

Today was my third visit if this location was not so close to COSTCO i would not shop here, on my second visit I asked an employee who looked to be a supervisor where the rotisserie chicken was and in the time it took her to point and explain where she could have made the effort to have taken me instead I found it but could not find a price or a plain chicken I did not want lemon herb or other flavors so I went to Costco. Today I had a very difficult time find a handicap parking place because they have so few it's a joke guess they do not want disabled shoppers I asked for help twice and overall it seems to be a chore to find a friendly staff member for assistance it sure not customer focused like Publix and COSTCO read more

I worked here before the Wegmans in West Cary opened in July 2020 for 2 1/2 months and it went very well here. This is a very high traffic busy Wegmans and can get really crowded but that is a good thing since it provides jobs and growth opportunities for employees. Only removed one star since at times I don't feel safe at night walking alone in this area since it is closer to downtown, but they have excellent security and I hope to shop here in the future although my primary location is the West Cary Wegmans store. read more

This grocery store is a hybrid between Trader Joe's and Whole Foods store. The food is delicious and prices reasonable. Their desserts appear impeccably made. They have a good mixture of premade meals and classic groceries. Their buffalo chicken wings quenches any and all desire for wings. In addition, they have a wide selection of cheeses. They sell a package of three different brie cheeses, which were fantastic and super convenient. Prices are very reasonable. Service and employees are friendly, as well. The only issue I have is that there is not an additional location in Durham. read more

I did not find the prices to be too high, they had quite a few items (Impossible meat, a whole lane in the store dedicated to Gluten-Free...) that I easily found in stock here that I have trouble finding at the other local grocery stores. For a minute, it felt like we were in NYC or Aspen. There also seemed to be a lot of good looking people here tonight. I had an awesome experience at the Wegmans on Waketown Rd. All because of Sonji. She is absolutely amazing. We were in the store in the early morning and we were looking for a particular energy drink before a long drive to NY. She saw us struggling as we looked at the coolers at the cashier lanes. She offered to help. She used a device to locate the exact aisle, walked us to it and then took us back to her lane to check us out. Just a note, it was early morning and the store was empty so she didn't abandon her lane. Just tremendous service and she had such a vibrant personality. read more

I shopped Wegmans this afternoon (5/24) and for the first time, having no interest in cooking tonight, I picked up a package of 4 shrimp squwers of garlic and herb seasoning. I have just tried to eat two shrimp and the salt levels are obscene! They are so salty that the taste overrode the flavor of the shrimp, the garlic and whatever the other seasoning were. I poured a generous amount of balsamic vinegar (and the really good stuff' unfortunately) and while it cuts the initial overwhelming salt when I bite into the shrimp, once I am tasting beyond the first layer of flesh, the salt intrudes so much as to make $10.50 completely unedible! I advise, unless you enjoy eating salt straight out of the box, that you avoid the garlic marinated shrimp -- which would be more honestly labeled " Preponderously Salted Shrimp. " ACKKKK! CHARGING FOR BAGS NOW?!? Wegmans already has higher prices than majority of the other grocery stores in the city, at times even higher than Whole Foods. Today I was near this location and decided to pick up a few things. Now if you don't bring your own bags you are REQUIRED to buy paper bags at checkout. I get it at places like Aldi, it helps them keep prices low. But Wegmans charges $10.99 for a 4 pack of bakery cookies so this is just an excuse for them to make more money. Oh Wegmans... I used to love you. You fed me free pizza as a UB freshmen and continuously had amazing Private Label products that were both really good and incredibly inexpensive. You had amazing sushi. The takeout bar was great chow after long nights of studying or internship work that was cheaper than eating out anywhere else. Nice cuts of meat at affordable prices, and you can even ask the butcher for custom cuts! Organic burgers that were affordable even before prices for organic meat started to go down. Now in Raleigh....you've changed. You're expensive and glitzy. you've lost the charm in trying to become a hipster's wet dream, with far too many niche and overpriced products and your private label more expensive than everyone else's. This Wegman's can't be beat--very clean, great grocery prices, huge produce department, nice olive bar, gourmet cheese section, great buffet, etc. They also have very-friendly, helpful associates. Today, the produce section and grocery shelves were fully stocked. It was crowded, but not too bad, especially for a holiday. Beware on Saturdays and Sundays, though! Wegmans is great, but I don't think it's fantastic enough to give it 5 stars. It is however a grocery store with an amazing selection. If there's anything that you need, chances are that Wegmans has it. This is also one of their smaller stores so I'm curious how big their regular stores are! They certainly have a ton of prepared food options. There is a hot bar and salad bar, burger bar, station for subs/pizza/salads but otherwise I haven't had anything that is super noteworthy. The subs are pretty good though and I like that they have a bunch of sushi options. The one thing I will say is that their app is a great way to organize grocery shopping. Typically I will run around a store trying to find everything I need but on the Wegmans app you can create a grocery list before hand and it will tell you what aisle or location all your items are at so you can do your grocery shopping in an orderly fashion beforehand (and know how much it might cost) I'll probably continue doing my grocery shopping next door at Trader Joe's but it's nice having an option that is open later than 9 PM and with way more selection in case there is something that TJ's doesn't have! read more

As many in the area knows, Wegmans opened this location in the fall. Significant because it is the first Rochester, NY, based company to do so, with more to follow...I purposely waited for the honeymoon period to dissipate before darkening its doors. I went on my own Wegmans field trip on Super Bowl Sunday. (Go Chiefs) It is located inside the beltline off 6 Forks rd heading into Raleigh. They have a parking lot with a garage underneath and I still had a hard time wrangling a space. I entered on the side of the building and walked into a food court serving:Pizza, Subs, and Burgers. Nice amenity, but I was not a fan of its placement in the corner like an afterthought. I walked the entire perimeter, some aisles, the front end, and my initial thoughts follow: Impressive wine section, Store was dimly lighted, prices in grocery were average, meat dept underwhelmed, seafood dept looked good, deli was average, pastry section fantastic, many varied items with a heavy Yankee influence (Expected), produce and floral disappointed. I read that the initial Wegmans prided themselves on their superior Produce depts. This was their signature dept and competitive advantage. This was not my experience. It is definitely a welcome addition to the triangle and I will return to augment my initial experience. Hard to rate it accurately because it is the true definition of a hypermarket. Doesn't live up to the hype. If you want to sip on a craft beer and get your shopping done, head to Whole Foods, because at Wegmans, you're relegated to their "burger bar" area. Like a child under the scornful eye of an underpaid daycare worker, Wegmans' staff will ensure you finish your beer in your designated play-space, or else! (No kidding, craft beer Gestapo for sure). But apart from this inconvenience, I found the hot food options to be less than appetizing (e.g., pizza looked dried-out and the Asian food bar looked to be leftover from the Ming Dynasty). Their prices were on par with the area's friendlier grocery stores which I think is a plus, but the store atmosphere was just a notch above Aldi which seems to be modeled after something from the Soviet Union circa mid-1980s. But there was another positive aspect to my experience. Wegmans' massive two story, cement parking deck provided ample parking at 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night. A safe harbor from the massive traffic snarl created by the single traffic light expected to regulate the entry and exit on Wake Forest Road. read more

Gosh I love seeing the look on Southern people's faces as they walk into Wegmans. Sure, I'm used to Wegmans being from Rochester but the looks on Raleigh people's faces are hilarious. They're in awe. Like they've never seen a grocery store before! Yes! Civilization exists. I especially love those who stand in the middle of the aisles taking pictures for Instagram, blocking everyone else from shopping. Absolutely awesome. I mean, I get it. Ya know...for grocery stores it's pretty solid. Never thought I'd even review a grocery store, but I think it's worth pointing out a lot of features of this place. I'm a southerner so I'd only heard my friends from up north talk about the magic of the brand. I always knew of them because the store consistently ranks #1 in Grocery Store brands in the US. Well, I can see a lot of why. First, it's not just a grocery store. It's also a restaurant, to-go friendly. Come hungry, have a bite, then grocery shop. I always find I buy less junk when I'm full at the grocery store - so that's a poor choice on their part. haha. They have an ever expansive hot bar (think like Whole Foods), pizza from a wood fired fancy oven like all the best pizza places have, sushi, killer custom sandwiches, burgers cooked to order, soup, and I'm sure I am missing 99 other things. It's wild. Their bakery department is expansive and provides plenty of options. Great looking cakes and sweets. What's interesting is that you pay by the pound for cookies - which is new for me. Or at least that's what I hope you do as I did self check-out. It wasn't cheap so that was strange, but fine. Their seafood section is killer. One of the few stores with live lobster in the area. Everything seems fresh and it didn't smell fishy. Huge plus. They also have a huge selection of marinated meats and the usual things you'd find. I found their marinated meats to be solid. I think I might even try to sous vide some in their sealed bags. They seem sturdy enough to try... So the rest of the store is fairly commonplace. Lots of in-house brands. Lots of brands from the North East. Lots of different products I have never seen before. Their wine selection is massive. It's like a mini Total Wine. I was surprised by the selection they carry. I'll be back often as the quality is high here. But compare it to a Harris Teeter in pricing for the most part. Their cooked shrimp are outrageously high priced. Great quality, but I'd rather go buy known NC shrimp at the local seafood markets and steam them myself over the prices at Wegmans. read more

Unpopular opinion, but I am not a fan of Wegmans! I'll start with the positives: the associates are friendly and the food court/hot bar area has a lot of option. The parking situation is not good. The shopping center is a pain to access. The prices on staples and produce are high. The store layout makes it hard to navigate. I love grocery shopping but the overall Wegmans experience for me was unpleasant and I felt rushed anytime I needed to stop and look over what was offered. I waited to visit until after some of the excitement about its opening had died down, but it was still overwhelming. I really loved the variety here, it's like no other place in triangle. Some prices were a bit higher but overall but the variety was well worth coming here. Great beer and selections also sushi too. What can I say about Wegmans that hasn't already been said? It is a magical place!! You absolutely have to go check it out! The meat department, the cheese department (yes, there is an entire department of cheese), and the beer and wine section are all phenomenal!! The hot food bar is amazing. Anything you want to eat, they have it hot and fresh. You can even order a pizza, a sandwich, or a burger, fries, and a shake! They have a very comfortable, welcoming cafe that you can sit down and eat in. And the place is clean! I cannot wait to visit Wegmans again! read more

For what feels like eternity, we waited for Wegmans to open. My husband who's family is from New York praised Wegmans and how amazing they are up there. While I was like "Really? Its just a supermarket?!" But I had no idea what Wegmans was all about. I swear when I walked through that door, my eyes lit up and it was like nothing I've ever seen. First off, it was packed. When a grocery store needs a parking garage, you know it's going to be crazy. The amount of prepared food, bakery items, food to go, it was just so much. You could walk around this store 100x and never see every corner of it. My favorite parts: The seafood selection is on point. Being from south florida and living this far inland, it's terrible trying to get a decent selection of seafood. The flowers are so beautiful, the selection and quality are unlike any flowers I've ever bought, even from a florist. A bouquet from Wegmans can last me OVER TWO WEEKS. that's amazing. THE BEER. It's like a mini total wine in this place. I couldn't believe the different beers and wines they had, literally something for everyone. And to top it all off, Instacart delivers all the way from Raleigh to Wake Forest. Hands down best experience. read more
