Went for lunch at 1:00 on a Monday. Moved passed the chaotic crowds to try the burger bar. Ordered a fried chicken sand-which, which cost me 11$ with fries, $15. The food handoff from the chef window to the customer was disorganized and the employee helping looked as confused as I was. Sandwich was bland, and the fries were Luke warm. Not to mention they have no ketchup dispensers ‍. Just packets. It's true, Chick-fil-A will always run the show. read more

Grew up with Wegmans in Syracuse so almost all the food I had before college came from them. Been back many times. First thoughts about Wegmans Raleigh: * smaller store - no massive Hallmark Gold type gift center with local sports stuff, decent gifts for last minute shopping. * floral/plants - not as much as big NY, VA stores. They always have bonsai, huge house plants to decorate with, flowers worthy of a wedding/funeral/big party if you got in a bind. Wegmans was always our "bail me out" midnight store for gifts, flowers, and even clothes. Not this location. * they will kick Whole Food's amazonian butt with organic health items several dollars cheaper. That was a prime move (pun intended). * take/ready to eat meals - superb but sometimes pricey. HT's pasta is $2-3 less and appears to be as good in terms of cheese and meat. Most of bowls were $8-12 and that seems hard to justify for their size and recipe. * international brand cheese seemed to be packaged much larger and so Trader Joes/Whole Foods are going to be way less for the same brand in a more practical size. I don't really need $10-14 worth of Port Salut and there were no small options. TJ is about $5-6 and that's a fair meal addition. * seafood, meat, bakery, cheese all A+ but not always beating Whole Foods for price. You get cheap chicken and produce and they get you by spending $22 a pound for cod. That's an old Walmart technique - you're happy about the bargains so you splurge on the other stuff. * not all the NY brands have been missing. HT has had Hoffman franks and white "coneys" for years but Wegmans here has more of their line. * beer is not going to touch Total Wine, Triangle Wine,and bottle shops with hundreds of singles. They claim 1000 labels but I doubt it. Who is going to buy a $15-20 sixpack that has a 50:50 chance of being worthless? I'm a beer freak and only found 3 things not found elsewhere. * wine is impressive but they'll need to watch the wine shops with their regular tastings with actual winery staff - not pimply kids with a week's training. read more

HOLY MOLY. I am about to sound like 99% of people writing about Wegmans, but I am already obsessed after two visits. I had never heard of this place until the grand opening in Raleigh was announced, so I had no expectations when I went for the first time. Walking in, they have printed store directories with everything listed for the shopper's convenience which is brilliant. They have a lot of organic and vegan options which is AMAZING. Aside from the isles with the "usual" groceries, there is a bakery area, a coffee bar, a deli, a buffet, and probably more places I haven't even seen yet. The workers are always super cheery in their brightly colored shirts. Wegmans has an app with all the information you could possibly need. Make sure you stop in! read more

The best grocery store in the south-- hands down!! I've heard about Wegmans for years but I never lived in a location where I had access to shop in one (until now). Ladies and Gents, this store is worth the wait!! It legit has everything and anything one could want from a grocery store shopping experience. From the amazing food stations, custom bakery items, prepared foods, holiday ordering options, wine/beer selections, specialty foods, curbside service, exceptional customer service and more. I can't speak enough about their prepared foods!! From single portioned pre-seasoned options to prepared foods along with wegmans branded items, etc-- it really simplifies the at home cooking experience for large families to single adults. Might as well drag a garbage can in with you if you plan on shopping for meat. I have now brought home spoiled chicken thigh cutlets and three packages of spoiled pork ribs. The last package of pork spare ribs was $37 ($5.99/lb) and after opening to inspect them, I noticed that the butcher left the skirt meat on them which would have needed trimmed and removed if the meat wasn't already slimy and smelling like sulfur. read more

I found the store easy to navigate. However, extremely crowded ( went 9am on Sunday) . I really wanted to try the sandwiches , burger bar, or pizza area. However, the line was approximately 20-25 min wait just to order. Overall, very clean store , staff very professional. The cons: incredibly crowded ( even at 9 am on a Sunday ) . I am kinda amazed by how many people who were willing to tailgate until the grocery store open. I love the variety such as meats, seafoods, veggies, pastries, etc. But at the same time, I think it's overhyped. I went there on opening day and I love the customer service, but not the customers. Some customers were very rude. Instead of waiting for the line move, they will push the cart really hard to get pass you. It's crazy. The food that was made where you can pick Togo was very bland to me, but I really like the sushi and pastries. I feel like this is the best place to buy poultry more than veggies. It seems a little pricey with veggies. Overall, I am amazed how big this place is and the layout of the store. read more

I have been here twice now and both times to eat. I have been very pleased with all of the hot bars and the food choices. The first time I ate at Wegman's and the second time I got take-out. My first visit I was a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to go but all of the employees that I encountered were helpful. Both times it was rather crowded but the lines moved quickly. I had pizza and it was very good. I also bought sushi for take out and my son liked it. It is definitely a new experience for the Raleigh area and it's always good to have more choices! I am planning to come back and try grocery shopping at some point - maybe during the holidays. Both of my visits were in the evening and I'd like to try going during the day. Just had my first bad experience at Wegmans. Needed 5 crab cakes but they sold them in packs of 4 for $25 / lb and a pack of 1 for $40 a lb. asked if I could get all 5 for the $25 a lb and the manager wouldn't do it. I was quite surprised and don't think I would have had this be an issue any other place that I've shopped. read more

Fav. Grocery. Store.Ever. As a relocated northeasterner, I was disappointed upon moving to this area and seeing the best option for a grocery store was a Harris Teeter. There are so many great grocery stores out west and in the northeast I was surprised that the bar was set so low with HT. Wegmans is the full service grocery store we all needed. Great Organic Wegmans line of products, prepared foods are A+, tons of dining-in options, and produce is the best. Great assortment of gluten free options. And the best part, the prices are LOW. Great selection, quality, assortment and the lowest prices. Wegmans is the only grocery store I've been to since it opened and I won't go anywhere else :) read more

Nice new store. They are a northern chain, so not the place to find good country ham. Also surprised they don't have gyro meat on a stick behind the butcher counter. Store is clean. Plenty of self checkout registers, but they don't take cash at the self checkouts. I really like the packaged marinated chicken & pork they have. Good cheeses too. They also have other foods like soft shelled crab packaged with directions that make it easy if you're cooking for one or two people. read more

About ten years ago, I wrote a letter to Wegman's to open a store in the Triangle area. At that time, there wasn't as much variety here for shopping, and I think Wegman's would have brought something different then. But now, there are so many places to go that I don't see how Wegman's can differentiate itself as it is. I was disappointed that there weren't more products from New York state and the surrounding Northeast states. I wanted more locally made products. I feel that the produce department was lacking. Their shelves are lined with a ton of products but there's a lot of quantity of the same product, not a lot of variety of different products/brands. And mostly, they sell Wegman's brand products more than others. Their Italian section was small and mostly Wegman's brand pasta. I was disappointed that their Wegman's cream cheese had all kinds of gums/fillers in it. The cannoli are pre-filled, which they shouldn't be. That's what makes cannoli soggy. Yes, they do have a few western NY products like Kimmelweck rolls and white hot dogs. There was a heavy cream from upstate NY. I'd like to see more products and produce from New York state. Otherwise, Wegman's is just bringing more of the same. read more

Went to this location and found it to be very clean and plenty of merchandise to shop for. The problem I had at this particular location is that there were individuals entering the store without any masks on . I let the manager know that , hey you got some people in here without any mask , because you have a very large sign that says all masks are required, but did nothing about it. Won't be coming back because obviously the manager picks and choose who can come into the store . Sad because I really wanted to support a business in these trying times. read more

What can you say? The king of grocery stores? No one compares to this place. Great selection, reasonable prices (a bit on the higher side like a Harris Teeter. But for that, you get access to the absolutely best of the best which will cost you. Always clean, always friendly. Massive stores with a lot of space. This said, Fridays through Sunday you better plan to be there for a while because it's a zoo of people that will give even a combat veteran anxiety. The customers are the worst part of this place. No regard for anyone but themselves. No common courtesy, no sharing of space or time. If you know its packed and are frustrated yourself in there, please be aware there are other people shopping too. Spending 10 minutes looking at every can of soup to read every ingredient label is your right, but not with your cart in the middle of the aisle blocking access for everyone else till you make a decision or move on. A polite excuse me doesnt even work, they just look perturbed and move the cart an inch then go back to it. Repeated attempts to get around result in a flat out ignoring of you. Some peoples children! Dont even get me started on the kids running around wreaking havoc with no supervision. Shouldnt you be the one asking your kid to move out of peoples way while you stand in the aisle arguing about why they cant have that $14 bag of super special granola they picked out after annoying people on the cereal aisle. I have kids and am always cognizant of their whereabouts and proximity to others. read more

While the cheese section is to die for, and the veggies are pretty awesome, don't buy prepared foods from Wegmans. Everything is bland and overly salted. Asian foods are indistinguishable from Italian dishes. The fried chicken is overcooked and salty - even pizzas are bland. Who IDs the whole family for wine? This is a grocery store. Not the ABC store. Craziest part is you all sold my husband and his brother a beer at the Burger station. I get ready to buy my wine and the two brothers come to find out had left their DL in the truck we rode there on one of them (my hubby), and the other didnt have his period. Its okay. My experience here was the best i have ever had at a grocery store! Hands down, It is amazing! The costumer service was great! When i was there the employees where so kind and the food was great! It is the middle of winter, and the berries were not the slightest bit sour at all! The cake's icing was real buttercream, and so delicious! service in the pizza department is bad. the employees are not friendly, deliberately walk and act slow. i have purchased pizza's and slices several times. when you get up there even when there are 3 employees in there they do not acknowledge you, or greet you and there's no customer service. all other departments are good no issues. read more
