I can say Wegmans Pharmacy is usually great. The staff is friendly and always try to accommodate customers. However seniors if you see an increase with meds, have it checked with your insurance company. I was being overcharged for two medications, so I called my insurance company. I had called the pharmacy first and they stuck by the price and said I had a price increase. I called the insurance company and the one med still had a zero cost and the other was overcharged by $4.03. It's not a lot of money, but when you add up $9.93 or more here and there, from many people, it can add up to a lot of extra money for Wegmans. This isn't the first time that this has happened to my husband and me. Many seniors don't question their bill amount and they just pay it. I'm not trying to put Wegmans down, I just want to make people aware, not only seniors to ask if the pricing doesn't seem right. Call your insurance company if you have already paid for the meds, to get a refund of the difference. Don't be afraid to speak up. It's your money that you're saving. read more

I've been going through the pharmacy at Wegmans for years. They expect you to jump through their hoops to get non narcotic medication. Their system doesn't allow that to happen, and blame everyone else, when it's actually is them. It's a mess and I went through someone else, and have none of Wegmans rules.I wouldnt recommend them. Their accounts and computer system is that all that matters to Wegmans, and not your health. Ie blood pressure meds, time, or being a customer. They are fired. The worst. Staff is confused, they often give wrong information, and there routinely are 20-minute waits at the window. Moreover they often have to order routine meds. Today, the pharmacy tech told me that they were "dispensing" one of my medications and to come back in 20 minutes. I gave them 40 minutes, stood in line for 20 minutes, only to be told they had to order it. While the tech apologized, and anyone can make a mistake, I don't appreciate waiting an hour based on her guess. I am done. The only reason I didn't give one star is that, when I was in a lot of post op pain earlier this year, one of the pharmacists was very kind in expediting my prescription. read more

I must be the most unlucky person using this pharmacy because they NEVER have what I need in stock. Always need to order it and sometimes they let me know and other times I'm not so lucky! My insurance stopped partnering with Harris Teeter so have to use Wegmans or the other horrible Walgreens! read more

Over staffed and under trained. Not forthcoming, and many circular conversations trying to resolve prescriptions issues. They like to do a "round robin" method of passing one off from them to the insurance companies to specialty pharmacy to primary insurance then secondary insurance and all roads lead back to this local pharmacy and now all different people behind the counter and here we go again. Don't seem to care much about the customer and their needs for life important drugs but are very concerned about clock watching and "well.... were about to close so.... maybe you can call the specialty pharmacy tomorrow" because we are not interested in your concerns, complaints or needs. Have a wonderful evening sir.... Also caught them not begin truthful and trying to pass me information that they think I wont be aware of. Pharmacist avoids getting on phone at all cost. Lots of errors being made at the cash register not processing primary and secondary insurances correctly.... it goes on and on...... read more

I've been going to this pharmacy for years now. Even when there were many shortages and many backorders for my medication last year (which is outside their control), they were proactive and did their best to keep following up and updating me. The wait times are also very reasonable. In my opinion, this is best pharmacy in the area. read more

I have a high co-pay insurance plan and my medications in the first three months of the year cost thousands of dollars without the insurance payment. The Pharmacist Mac Doug at the Wegmans in Sterling VA. helped me correct a problem with my insurance company where the insurance company was over charging me $2000. He helped me get my money back from the insurance company. On a different occasion Ms. Zacchea Henry, Pharmacy technician overheard the total I was to pay for my prescriptions (over $1000) and went on line and found me coupons that saved me over $600 a month for a total of $1800. Went here today, had absolute pleasure of interacting with the pharmacy tech Emily. She is an absolute joy. She is concerned about patients, diligent, and just a good person. The pharmacist this evening however, he is not any of these. After refusing to accept a special offer from a discount app, he was put on the phone (my phone) with their company representative (he was insistent they were closed, they were not)... turns out he was wrong... he didn't like that too much, spitefully filled the script, threw MY phone on the counter and walked away... caught both Emily and I off guard. I thanked him for his help, he rolled his eyes and walked away again with out saying anything. 5 stars for Emily, 4 stars for Wegmans and negative 7 stars for this pharmacist. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name as he wouldn't get close enough to read name tag, nor is it on pill bottle or paperwork, but he was pharmacist working tonight 8/24/19... he's the worst. Super friendly and helpful staff. If drugs are in stock, you get them in 15 minutes. If not, they order them for the next day and text you when they are in. I've been using them for years. Best pharmacy I've been to in Northern, Virginia. read more
