Wegman's, Wegman's, wow. When they first came to town my reaction was "Do we really need another grocery store in the area?" Yes, yes we do. Wegman's is more than a grocery store, less than a club or warehouse store. Huge, wear your comfy shoes when you come here. Excellent produce offerings, a lot of organics, you can buy just a few of something, so less waste, ~AND~ truffles. I haven't seen truffles for sale anywhere else - Wicked expensive, but to buy 1 for a special meal does not cost all that much. Grocery selection is average, a little higher priced, but they more than make up for that when you hit the liquor section- least expensive price I have seen for many wines and vodkas- 1 example- they sell a larger size bottle of my favorite vodka for the same price as BJ's. i actually turned in my BJ's membership because I can get better deals here at Wegman's. Really nice deli, a separate charcuterie counter, in house bakery with nice variety, and a prepared foods selection better than anywhere I have seen. They also have a great selection of home goods- I have gotten some La Creuset there, and some really cute summer tableware. Lots of the health and beauty aids I like, including a full line of Kiss my Face products. And homeopathic remedies to rival a natural food store. Drawbacks- most of the meats are vacuum sealed, I haven't tried any yet, the impression is that they may be less than fresh, that may just be a bias I have. Prepared foods are kind of run of the mill yet are fairly expensive. A lot of their breads are strangely sweet, not sure why they need to put so much sugar in the recipes, maybe it's a Wegman's home turf kind of thing, I don't think it will sell well here in Massachusetts, I don't like it anyway. All in all, Wegman's makes me happy. read more

I avoided "opening week" because I am really not a fan of crowds, but I needed to get a birthday cake last minute, and Giraldo's was closed by the time I gotout of work, so I thought I would give Wegmanss a try. Now, I am not going to claim that a cake from Wegmans is as good as a cake from Giraldo's (really, nothing is), however the chocolate something or other layer cake was perfectly adequate. The icing was good, not an overly sweet ganache or an overly greasy buttercreme, a nice, light frothy concoction. Tried the subs, and while the meats, cheeses and veggies are great, the bread they use is way too sweet, not a New England style bread, and I think you need to take regional tastes into account when moving into a n ew territory. Prepared foods- really not that great, it is all mass produced. To be fair, I did not try the sushi or the buy by the piece prepared chicken or fish options, the items I sampled from the food bar did not impress. The store is gigantic, it appears they have a lot of variety, but not a lot of options if that makes sense. A lot of store brand food, and ok, but I am not really a fan of store brand, I appreciate the money-saving aspects, but there is a taste difference, and I do like my name brands. I just eat a little less every time they raise the prices. All in all, it's a very nice grocery store, not a dash in and out place though, and I did not see any indications that they deliver or will ready an order for you to pickup. Those are both much utilized services by me, so I will likely use Wegmans as a last minute, need a cake kind of place, and continue to grocery shop my usual way. read more

I have been to Wegman's a few times out of state and thought it to be a great grocery store. What a surprise to find one here in Mass. I hear they are planning to open one closer to my home, cannot wait for that! Their pharmacy has many of the same low cost options as that other "W" store with much friendlier staff. I am trying to decide if I can justify a once a month trip to Westborough right now to transfer my RX needs. Great produce department, very fresh and enticing, many many organic options, and an extensive array of organic food options. Deli is almost exclusively Wegman's brand, and they do not have a lot of low sodium options- I asked for low sodium and received a litany of low fat options. Not the same dear, not the same. The absolute high point of my visit, and what will keep me driving out of my way to shop here is the woman at the coffee and bakery a la carte counter. I stopped to get a cup, and right before I ordered, a customer came to the register to purchase a large package of ground meat. The clerk, I believe her name is Laura, rang him up, bagged his product, then went to the sink, washed her hands, disinfected the counter and the register, and then actually apologized to me for the delay! I told her that there was no apology necessary, her no thought display of care for proper food hygiene showed me the quality of Wegman's employees and food standards. Highest marks and thanks. I have an impaired immune system and was so happy to see this. Wegman's- you have another loyal customer, and it is because of the woman at your coffee counter. read more

Listen up Yelpers: Wegman's is the greatest grocery store of all time. OF ALL TIME! You have to be a complete crazy person to not love it. I've always loved grocery shopping. I hate shopping for clothes, but I love to eat, so I blow all of my money on groceries. I'm from NY, and I've never seen a Wegman's before. When looking to move to the area, I weighed many options...but then came Wegman's. I walked in, and it was like stepping into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, but for adults that like other foods too. But seriously, it made me want to live close by (which I now do). It is AMAZING. I once ate both lunch and dinner at Wegman's in one day because their cafe is amazing. Add to that the absolutely gigantic selection, low prices, and high-quality Wegman's brand (their peanut butter is killer), you never have any reason to go anywhere else. Except Target, I love that place too. Wegman's gets very, very crowded on weekends. You just have to learn when to shop. Go later in the evening if possible- they're open until midnight. Weekdays during the day are obviously the best time, but most people work, so try to go after dinner if possible. Or, suck it up and embrace the crowds. read more

I think the best thing about Wegman's is the pharmacy- no copay for generic Lipitor, a list of 4 dollar copay prescriptions very similar to that other discount store, fast friendly service, and $20 store coupon for new or transferred prescriptions (1st 5). I transferred some RX from another store because I was tired of dealing with the poor customer service, and was so happy to get the store coupons. Now for shopping: produce selection is pretty good (watch out for the big packs though, I got 2 bad avocadoes in a pack of 4, hard to really check them when they are in a bag), fresh herbs are great, they even sell loose truffles ($1000 a pound, but 1 truffle weighs so little that it's actually a very good price). Meats are good once you get past they cryovac, they are actually very fresh and trimmed well. Deli is good, they have a lot of variety and there is a separate charcuterie. Add in the huge seafood assortment, the natural and organic products, and the incredibly huge and reasonably priced beer, wine and liquor department- they need larger shopping carts! read more

There isn't much to say, I am mainly just posting a slew of inane reviews so that the fascistic yelp algorithm will stop burying the reviews I care about. By greater Worcester standards, Wegman's is fairly upscale and the space is so large that I initially assumed that they would carry all the products I like from other supermarkets but it's really not the case. For example, they do not carry the Paul Newman microwaveable popcorn which seems like a really bizarre omission. Nor do they carry Nathan's pickles, although their house brand is good (no artificial colors, no sugar, no corn syrup). Meat and fish selection are actually kind of small and the bakery is mediocre at best (bagels are sorta OK but baguettes etc. are barely an improvement over what you would get at Price Chopper). I really think they should go to France and bring someone back to oversee their bread-making operations. But the vibe is good, people have a little more pep in their step than at some of the other concentration camps that pass for supermarkets around here. read more

I went to Wegmans last night. Like other people I found their prices a mixed bag. Some prices lower than competitors, others same or higher. And the selection was impressive. One employee on the floor restocking was very helpful. BUT.........I might buy 1 bottle of wine during the holidays as I rarely drink, and being close to 60 I'm not carded. So I admit I'm not familiar with MA laws on alcohol purchases. Last night I decided to buy 1 bottle of wine and a couple of other things. When I went to check out the young woman at the register told me I had to show my license which was out in my car. Since she was chit chatting with 2 male employees who had nothing better to do, I suppose, since it was slow, she acted as if I was a bother to her. So even at my advanced age without the license I wasn't able to buy the wine. Not only did she roll her eyes at me but she was flippant and down right rude. As I walked away I could hear her shrill laugh as she flirted with the young men. Will I go there again? No. read more

I absolutely adore this place. From the entrance where delectable local produce is displayed, to the cheese department, very extensive natural foods and remedies offerings, liquor department (not just wine and beer but spirits too- and at really decent prices), to the fresh seafood and butcher, there is so much to see and taste and buy. They also have a really great charcuterie, a great guy works there- we had a nice discussion about New Haven pizza the other day as I was buying a few slices of Parma Prosciutto. Also a prepared foods section that goes on forever - great for a quick snack. Oh yeah, they sell groceries too. They are one of three stores in the state where I am able to find my favorite Sauvignon Blanc, and they offer it at the best price, so that alone would be enough to keep me visiting. The friendly and knowledgeable staff is by far the best in the area. And- they have hand sanitizer in all the right locations. read more

I recently received a voicemail from the Wegmans butcher on their chicken breast options. After first offering Empire Kosher chicken, the butcher contacted me to explain that, while Empire chicken is kosher, it is *not* halal certified. Although this was somewhat disappointing, I appreciated the butcher's honesty and work in investigating the product before providing me with a final response. It's evident that the staff takes client concerns seriously and strives to deliver factual information rather than simply trying to sell. It is worth noting that this has not harmed my overall experience at Wegmans. I'd like to see their halal choices expand with time, but for now, I'm satisfied with the outstanding service. read more

This is about the 5th time (that I can remember) that I've gotten bad produce at Wegmans. The first time a bag of organic carrots I bought was mush, the next 2 times the grapes were squishy, and today the box of clementines I bought were bad. One was completely covered in fungus. I live about 25 minutes away so it's not easy to take something back. I've now decided that I am done with Wegmans. The main reason I went there was reasonable prices on liquor but now that Total Wine has opened up I have no need for Wegmans. I hate to give a bad review because I've been going there for years but after all of these bad experiences I couldn't keep quiet. read more

this is one place I will go with my wife to food shop. the selection is far above any other supermarket. I go with my wife just to make sure she doesn't spend too much, it's pretty easy when you can buy everything in one place. I love that I can get a nice cut of meat in a size just for me (she's a vegetarian) and my wife can get veggies that are not sold at other stores. while there we can also get a bottle of wine or rum (she's not a fan of beer or wine). The prices are a little more, but the quality is also a lot better. as they say you get what you pay for! read more

Wegman's has delicious prepared food, yes. Fantastic catering, of course. It also has better prices than even Wal-mart on basics like butter, flour, spices, pasta, etc. I have saved quite a bit on my food bill and am getting way better customer service and quality ingredients. I particularly am pleased with the chicken breasts- individually wrapped and vacuum sealed, they are a steal at 1.99 a pound. You honestly can't beat that. Big fan of the hours too. read more

The supermarket has excellent merchandise, but the employees should first undergo training on how to treat customers, 90% of them treat us with a lot of disdain, the pink haired girl from Deli, OMG I would never hire even to stay out of contact with customers, when it comes to education the supermarket should have zero stars! read more

I love Wegmans and don't mind the drive to shop there, even though there are grocery stores closer to me. The meats, fruits and veggies are high quality. I like the breads, sushi, shrimp and lobster. They also have a liquor department, so you can get everything in one stop. The store is large, looks and smells clean. read more

Great food. Staff is rude. At least to heavily tattooed people. Coming from Chicago, I don't experience the level of uncomfortability going to the grocery store. read more

Five stars for their buffet alone! I've gone here once and that's all I need to determine that their buffet is out of this world.

I to make all my shopping at Wegmans. Bakery and fruit, they are always fresh. And the courtesy of the employees is outstanding.

g*psy coworker threatned to drone strike me (obama approved) when i worked there (didnt do anything) 10/10 would not reccommend

Crazy, racist, and treat others differently, they are not nice, not nice store. They shouldn't do business.
