Love Love Love! I remember when I went to PA several years ago and visited a wegmans while there, I was a little sad we didn't have one. Well now we do! The food court area is amazing! They have pizza, burgers, sushi and not to mention the buffet! They have a vegetarian section which I think is pretty cool. The bakery is to die for! Delivery with Instacart cost me $60 ($80 with tip) on a $250 grocery order! Don't be fooled by the $15 service and $4 delivery fee because on top of that, prices on every item are about 15% higher. I love Wegmans as grocery store, but will not be ordering online again. This review is purely to let more people know the real monetary cost is for delivery service (and, similarly, pick-up orders). Ok. It had begun. A new business, fast, efficient service, decent pricing on many goods. Some things still overpriced but the wegmans brand is usually as good if not better than the name stuff. But I shop here three times weekly at least and have noticed many workers have entered the " familiarity" zone. Some avoid you when you approach them. Others are quite helpful even going above, maybe beyond expectations. Several of the cashiers have stopped with the greeting. At least three in particular converse with each other and literally ignore you. Oh, they ring up your items but often make it a point to engage each other and only each other. Yes, they are young. Sean, a young girl next to him and one older woman. I guess I expect it from the teens but the older woman apparently doesn't like her job, you or maybe even herself. This is my go-to grocery store since moving to New Jersey. I love to cook, and I am always pleasantly surprised at how well-stocked they are! They have practically every ingredient under the sun. I've been Shopping here on a regular basis and I am aware of the town it's in. But people never notice the price mark ups in the store one day the prepare foods will be 5.00 then next week it will jump to 7.00 . The cheese price will differ throughout the week cause it expires faster in store. You buy the 18.00 bread only to find it expires 3 days after. The pre package meat and fruit are rigged prices to make the plastic or wrap weigh more to the pound to round the price up. It's hard to find a bargain in this store even with the brand name products . read more

I was such a snob about the opening of the famed Wegman's. I need a supermarket not a gift shop. Bonus for you; Like the old DiPieros, they serve lunch. Lots of it. Warning to all vegans: They begin cooking burgers early. But! I don't have to spend much time over there unless I am buying meat;)! So big yet so well organized. The dairy is right behind the produce. Otherwise, download the app and get a map. You may be pleasantly surprised how well organized it is. I am disabled and use a "zippy cart" that doesn't annoy other shoppers because they are new and work properly. They don't go too fast and the aisles are big enough for 2 to pass each other. They seem to have everything any Grocery store has, plus a ton of prepared foods from sushi to sub sandwiches. Their beer selection is very good, and I like that they have a separate section for NJ beer (DRINK LOCAL!). They seem to have good prices especially their organics. This Wegmans location is absolutely beautiful and clean. It has it an amazing variety of products to choose from. Though it is 30 minutes away from where I live, I would rather go do this drive once a week instead of going to any of the other grocery stores that are within five minutes from my house. Dude....it's a supermarket. And actually not even a great one. I can't believe how terribly this store lived up to its hyped expectations. As one person in the store said to me--"What's the big deal?" The people who work there really exude an air of entitlement....but this is NOT god's gift to supermarket shoppers. Yes--They have a decent prepared food section. Maybe if you are from Idaho or Wyoming, you will be super-impressed by it, but we have Whole Foods and great deli's everywhere in Jersey and New York; and reheated General Tso's chicken in a sugary sauce does not really impress me. The prices are HIGH. I paid $2 more than ShopRite for the ricotta cheese I usually buy here and there are NO SALES. So you pay those same high prices every week. No thanks. The selection within products is not great. They don't carry local brands of olive oil or tomatoes like I can get in ShopRite and Kings and they also don't have Calandra's bread. No deal. Did I mention how awfully trained the staff is? Some of them are just plain rude. As someone wrote--they are building too many stores and not training their staff enough. I asked in Produce where the tofu was and I was passed between 2 different people, and then sent to "Dairy" when one kid checked his app. After another poor guy in Dairy couldn't figure out where it was, I was told they were out of it just to get me out of his hair. One week ago I secured a delivery slot through instacart and I was just notified today that my order was canceled! I was incredibly upset and contacted Wegmans via email and I got a call back this morning. The café manager Rob, was incredibly helpful and filled my order and it will be picked up by us a little later on in the day today. It was an Insta cart issue. If you add too many items to Instacart they can cancel it and that's what happened. It was not Wegmans fault at all. They were very accommodating and very helpful. Rob was wonderful and deserves a huge raise. I am incredibly grateful. read more

I ordered a bunless BLT from the cafe and my husband ordered a cheeseburger. I took a bite and the chicken was very undercooked. When I took it back, I said to the grill cook that it was raw and he said "it's definitely not raw" which got me very mad. Why would I lie? I replied, "well, it's definitely undercooked and I'm not taking risk with undercooked chicken." He asked what would I like to do and I said I can wait for a cooked one. Then my experience turned around completely. A younger cook brought me the new BLT to my table, piping hot and delicious. I thanked him for getting me a new one. We dined in and at the end of the meal, a nice Wegman employee told us to leave everything on the table and she will clean it all up. They suddenly went from 2 stars to 4 for that! read more

Very disappointed in this Wegmans. I have been to the ones outside Philly for years and excited about one opening near me. Unfortunately they seem to be greedy or location is too costly but i found it to be very expensive. Their cooked prepared foods are very average and extremely expensive compared to other food bars in nearby supermarkets. The meats were sky high and their vacuum pack meats are not very nice. Not a lot in frozen foods, prices here were average. The can goods and their own brands are comparable to other nearby supermarkets. So nothing really worth going out of the way for. It is between 2 Fairways, they offer much better meats and vegetables there. Fairway food bar is cheaper as well. Pricey and fancy looking but with Pathmark quality items at Whole foods price. It needs a lot of work to be competitive. I will stop by only if in the neighborhood not worth the detour. read more

This store is the Mecca; the happiest place on earth in terms of supermarkets & imo, makes every single chain supermarket on Long Island NY seem like a dingy dump, so anyone who could give this location any less than a 4 star review, please tell me what grocery store(s) you think beat Montvale Wegmans bc I honestly don't think you can. I have never seen such a huge, well stocked & most importantly CLEAN supermarket. The store seems to be run & managed very well. I have been here a handful of times & it seriously seems to get more impressive every visit. From the huge attached liquor store to the multiple in store eateries (well maybe in store before covid) on the opposite side, this supermarket seriously has it all. Employees I've encountered all seem polite & friendly; on a recent visit, I was looking to try 1 peach muffin instead of buying the 4 pack (due to covid, everything is all pre packaged). The employee had no issue to open a 4 pack to wrap me up 1, she even asked if I wanted a muffin with icing or without. If I lived in northern NJ, I would have no reason to grocery shop anywhere else. EDITED TO ADD; if your review is only griping about the fact wegmans made you wait outside during a global pandemic & that there was no porta potty, please tell me what establishment did have a porta potty? I have a feeling Wegmans is expanding a little too quickly, because the service levels at Montvale Wegmans are not up to the (admittedly high) expectations I have of this supermarket chain. But the nice thing about Wegmans is that they usually seem to live up to the high expectations people have about them, which is why they are so successful. They also raise the bar for all the markets in the area (Acme, I am talking to you). One of my favorite aspects of the Wegmans stores which I have visited upstate, and also in Bridgewater is the sub department. I would never think of purchasing a sub at the likes of Stop & Shop or even ShopRite, but most Wegmans makes a sub that rivals my local deli. The sub I purchased at this Wegmans is an exception. The company appears to have failed to execute its normally high-level of training and customer-service to its staff at the sub counter. The woman who made my sandwich was so busy talking about how she "wasn't working on Saturday" to another guy behind the counter that she missed a few items on my sandwich, and when I asked her for oregano oil and vinegar, she looked at me and spewed "We got what we got" and put on some pre-packaged salad dressing. WTF? It felt like I wss at Walmart or something. You can see in my pics how the meat and veggies were thrown on the sandwich, with the meat all falling out the front. Some bites were all meat and some were all tomatoes. The cheese slices weren't even separated--some bites got 3 slices of cheese stuck together. Same with the tomatoes. It was a terrible sandwich worthy of a trip to a gas station deli. Hopefully this is not emblematic of a larger problem at this excellent chain, and just due to grand opening issues. But this sandwich was terrible. Back to my local deli, and back to ShopRite for the rest. read more

WOW! Just ventured out to the new Wegmans in Montvale!!! Customers are out of control! I parked my black car and the white car next to me hit my car rather hard twice while getting into their car! They didn't even bother to see if they caused damage or to apologize but listen to this... As I got out of my car...the husband of the woman and father of the daughter that hit my car starts to verbally attack me...cause I said they were rude! It gets better...as I walked away down the row ...he starts yelling at me to go FUC...myself and comes storming right up to my nose ...insisting he was going to get right in my face! Still yelling obscenities with children and other patrons to hear! WOW! I maintained my composure and looked him right in the eye and said " oh my...you are scaring me with a big grin...I said wow you are a real gentleman ...I feel sorry for your wife! ". He turned stormed away still yelling obscenities! Other patrons approached me to make sure I was alright and what was his problem! I said you meet all crazies in this world doesn't matter where you live! They hit my car then attack me...what is wrong with people??? I heard it was the best supermarket in the universe, and I know it's not easy running any kind of food business. And this is s big operation. It just feels like a corporation cleverly disguised as a family business. But it's clean. Definitely well managed. Almost to a fault. And they got a lot of cheese. I've been to a Wegman's before, it was a long time ago and way before I even realized there was Yelp. When I went the last time I was just amazed, it was unlike any store I had ever been to; and it really upped the game in terms of what a supermarket could bring. Wegman's though has a cult following for sure. Why anyone would line up just to say that they were the first one's through the door on opening day is beyond me. The store itself is massive, the flow is kind of strange in the beginning and you can kind of zig zag here and there. Once you get to the main area where the groceries are it seems a bit more normal. They have a lot to offer, I for one am a fan of their dipped chocolate chip cookies. Their seafood selection is pretty amazing as well. The hot bar and burgers seem like an interesting go to if you need a meal on their way home, and their prepared meals are also good. The pricing however, isn't great. So yes it's a great place to go to, but if you never make it to one I don't think you're missing out on much. read more

This is an incredible store. I came in to order some sandwiches for a lunch meeting because the people we were meeting with said to order them from here. I expected this to be a supermarket like the ones I see in NY. I got here a few hours early to prepare for the meeting and to order the food and I was I surprised. Let me first start by saying that this place is huge and incredibly clean. I need to also point out that the people are incredibly friendly. The first thing I noticed is that it looks like every department and run as a separate department. I am not sure if this is true but it looks this way) It looks like everyone in every department was working to make their foods the best and keep there area looking good. Everyone looked so proud at perfecting their creations. It was early and everyone was preparing their foods. The smells form the bakery were incredible, the pastries being decorated were beautiful, the seafood looked amazing and I can go on and on. It was a chorus of sights, sounds and smells. I then went over to the catering counter and expected a very expensive charge. When they told me the price of a tray that will feed 12 people I was astounded. It was the same price I pay in NY to feed 3-4 people. I then told the person that I now need a place to "hide out" and work for a few hours until the food is ready and my meeting started. They pointed me to a café area that was immaculate as well as to a coffee area where the coffee was inexpensive and excellent coffee - I am going to grab a second one as soon as I finish this review. I didn't think about writing this review until the manager came over and gave me the wifi password without me even asking. He said if you are going to work here you probably want to be online. The second thing that happened is that immediately after I sat down somebody who looked genuinely happy to work here and genuinely happy with her job came over and asked if she could clean my table. This table was immaculate as was every other table and the floor. I could not find a crumb here if I tried. She was doing an incredible job at keeping this place clean. Wegman's in by far my favorite grocery store. Before they came to Bergen County, I didn't get why people were so excited for them to come here. I live one town over, and honestly, I'm here 3-4 times a week. I have a list of regular items I go for, and the things I need are always in stock. I'm not a big prepared meal person, but the ones I've tried have been great. The sushi is great for the price, and their produce is always fresh. Truthfully, where Wegman's excels is in the shopping experience and friendly customer service. I've had several instances where I feel they went above and beyond in friendly service and you just don't get that in other grocery stores. The only thing that would make me love Wegman's more is if they carried Boar's Head Cold cuts. Their cold cuts are ok, but I still go to King's for my Cold cuts to get Boars Head. Lastly, this is the one grocery store my tween /teen kids want to go with me to. Always a great experience. read more

What can I say about Wegmans?! This place is the happiest place on earth outside of Orlando, Florida. Their food "court" is great. I'm a big fan of their sandwiches. Which one? Name it! I am OBSESSED with this place!! It is huge and beautiful. Walking in and seeing the produce section looking so good, go to the left and you have the bakery, meats, cafe, burger bar. To the right would be everyday grocery items. The team is friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty reasonable too. Many of my regular items are either cheaper or the same price as ShopRite. (Of course both stores will be different during sales). Everything is so fresh. That cheese department is amazing. The baked goods I've tried have been great. The floral department is so inviting. I went to Wegmans of Montvale, NJ on 12/31/21 to pick up my previously ordered lobsters and shrimp and I found that the lobsters were ready but the shrimp was not available. I was directed to a table where shrimp trays were available but in much larger quantities that I needed for a party of 2. I asked a that person behind the seafood counter if I could get some help for a 1 lb tray of steamed shrimp and was advised that it was either the larger prepared trays or nothing. This is the second time (but will be the last time) I was disappointed by Wegmans seafood department for a New Years Eve. Stop trying to take advantage of your customers just because it is a special night or your customers will stop shopping there. read more

While the subs are great, avoid getting it made by a mid-age, overweight, dirty-blond haired women at the sub station. Even asking her to evenly distribute the ingredients across the sub, she has no care in the world and unevenly distribute the ingredients as she pleases. After visiting Wegmans many times since its opening, I decided to write an updated review. So far I have learned that the sushi isn't very good, as well as the cold cut selection (which is 90% Wegmans brand). However, many items keep me coming back. The cheese sampling station has led me to taste and purchase many delicious cheeses I otherwise would not have tried. They make an ok buffalo chicken sandwich at the sandwich station. I'm really not a fan of their buffet section because most of it is greasy unhealthy items. The real MVP is their huge liquor section. The maple bacon burger at the burger is good. I loved their fall home decoration section as well. I will continue coming to Wegmans one in a while. read more

I'll be the first to admit this place has a tremendous selection of various foods. However you're paying the price for the speak selection of long lines and higher prices on items. If you try to skip the line and do the self-checkout you going to be stuck at a tiny cube with a very small area to place your items unfortunately I bought a frozen pizza in a few other items I was struggling to get the pizza in the bag and have the other items not fall off the tray and the lady who is managing the area was just watching me struggle when it looked at her for some kind of help she just looked away. Loving Wegmans! New near us. Love that I can order an iced coffee before I start my shopping :)! The meat department is great, love the NY strips & organic boneless chick breast, including the packaging. Additional likes ... olive bar, cheese & floral departments, organic store brand has yet to disappoint. Sushi is pretty good considering. Soups are tasty. Personally not a fan of the food bars.
