I love Trader Joe's! The positive side of this location is they had alot of items I dnt see at the Clifton location specifically. This is the one i frequent. I happened to be in the upper Bergen County area & had some time to kill. The set back here that was quite surprising was the employees were super rude. I can't say I've ever had this experience in the Trader Joe's in Wayne or Clifton. I can't say it will stop me from visiting again,, however I won't be asking anyone for help. Here in Westwood, staffs at customer desk aren't friendly nor pleasant. I've been coming here over 15 years spending avg 100+ weekly. When it's time to sell any bags with the limited quantity, they need to relax and still treat the customers the nice way. One day, I didn't know they were selling pastel color mini bags when I went to shop, I didn't need the bags but I knew my friend wanted them so I stopped by the desk to ask what is the limit and I was told 4. And I had to text my friend to see what colors she wanted, but was not able to reach her on time. So I continued to shop and when she finally replied, I went back to the desk and I said one of each color, the gentleman gave me a nasty look with mean voice saying didn't you already come? Limit is 4 so you can't get them. Oh my, chill out man. I explained the whole situation and he reluctantly gave them to me but the voice and look of this man left me a scar that's going to remain and be remembered every time I come to this branch to shop. Why are they so mean and sensitive. I don't care how important it is to give the customer the bags with the limit 4, still customers have to be treated with respect. Other trader joe's branches staffs are so nice even allowing dogs. This isn't the first time I felt unpleasant. There was few ladies by the plant section who are very unpleasant. Last time I brought my hypoallergenic dog to the store to buy milk (bc i cant leave my dog in the car by herself) and the lady came and said to me I must leave .. having the dog in the cart is so unsanitary!!!!! {hello lady, who calls my pet dirty,,, it wasn't like I left my 10 lb dog on the cart, I left dog in her own car seat and left the car seat in the cart. } Anyway, westwood need to improve and be nicer to people ( I do feel like it may be racial discrimination which is against the law in this day and age.) read more

I like Trader Joe's for its reasonably priced veggies and fruits (good deal for bananas), snacks, drinks, prepared foods, baked goods and more. Service is friendly and the staff treat you like a human being, not common these days. The thing I don't love about this location and others is that the aisles are cramped and the parking lot is often a pain. It does mean they're doing good business though. read more

Had a visit at the store the other day. Was very impressed by a lady named Laura (light skinned brown hair) whom joked she was one of three. I decided to tell a supervisor how lucky they were to have her, I think the supervisor was Christina R something, the supervisor was unimpressed, rushed and told me she was happy I had a nice time but to let me know when this sweet girl was not nice. Favorite grocery store by far! Super friendly staff, great produce and cheap-reasonable pricing. They are also back to giving out samples :) Plus kosher meat and cheese is a HUGE bonus. I had a terrible experience today at Trader Joe's in Westwood New Jersey. There were people stocking all over the store without being considerate of the customers which is supposed to be with Trader Joe's is known to be the best at. Customers were falling dropping things and generally felt very nervous shopping through the aisles. I've never had an experience like this before in that store. When I approached the manager he was very belligerent and interrogated me as to why I said that it is very distracting shopping here. He continued not to address my complain and then another manager came over who didn't know how to react to what I was saying and said that when the store expands it might get better. He then quickly walked away. This is not acceptable for the store that supposed to have the best customer service in the country! Smaller Trader Joe's, yet talking to people there it would be a good selection for the area, I suppose, but nothing like the Shoprite down the road? Still, people seemed pretty happy with it, lots of organic and farm-to-table kind of supplies. Prices higher than a Shoprite or other big-box grocery store, but somewhat on-par to a Whole Foods. Weirdly on much of the fresh bread there's no expiry date. Definitely crowded and the lady with the two kids running around screaming had the worst of it, but in and out pretty quickly. read more

Love the store. It's usually fully stocked and if they run out of something and employee will tell you when it's coming back in. What makes this store lose stars os they seem to allow dogs inside. The last two visits I witnessed some lady was pushing two dogs in a stroller and another walking a small dog around with a leash. Employees ignored it. Trader Joe's is essentially the same wherever you go, albeit with some small exceptions. This place has a few medium exceptions for some reason. It's a little on the small side, and maybe that's why some of the items that I can usually find at the Paramus location aren't here. In addition, because of the size, there are fewer cashiers than you expect, so checking out may take a few minutes longer. Overall, it's still Trader Joe's, and that means great quality food at great prices. read more

This TJ locations is close to us and is now our favorite go-to. They don't have as much as other locations, but many essentials are here. Great quality and great prices! We come here even though Kings is only a couple blocks away. The only thing I wish about this place is for the workers who ring us up to lessen chitchatting with other people while cashing us out. Not much in the produce department (it's also winter) and the freezer aisle was a bit weak, but everything else seemed to be in place. I'm here almost every day (no seriously), so I figured it's about time to write a review. For starters, I think that a requirement for all Trader Joe's, but this one in particular, is that the staff has to be phenomenal. Every single person I've ever encountered here has been helpful, accommodating, and just all around decent. If you're there all the time like me, they get to know you, always say hi and ask how you're doing, and little things like that just make your day that much better. As has been said, this store is smaller than the one in Paramus and Clifton, but it's so much easier to find what you're looking for, imo. Now that it's fall and pumpkin everything season, get there and stock up on the frozen pumpkin waffles (for $2.. a STEAL), pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin pancake/waffle mix, and PUMPKIN COFFEE for $8. It's so good, unless you have a pumpkin allergy, and then sorry, bro. The samples they make are always delicious and freshly prepared too, which is an added bonus. My favorites include the frozen roasted red pepper pizza/artisan pizza with asparagus on top, the frozen butternut squash risotto, organic spinach (for $2.. seriously, how could you find a better deal?!), roasted red pepper hummus, and cinnamon schoolbook cookies ($2.50 for the tub, which you could easily eat in one sitting). They also have a good selection of fresh flowers from anywhere from $4 - $10 per bouquet, which is a good go-to. I remember a few years ago, Trader Joe's produce was just okay, but they've stepped it up, now offering a wide variety where they try to showcase fruits/veggies from local places, and it's always fresh (again, when I'm there every single afternoon, or close to it, you see them changing things out with new, fresh items). I don't get the reviews citing rudeness. This is the friendliest store I've ever been in. The employees are always friendly and helpful. When I go to the Westwood store I feel like I'm with friends. And the selection of specialty foods just keeps getting better. Some favorites: The Indian entrees such as Butter Chicken, the scallion pancakes, the Red Argentine Shrimp and an excellent assortment of apples. This is my favorite grocery store! read more

This Trader Joe's is really small,and doesn't have a lot of options. The produce looked fresh and the place was well kept but the cashiers were a little less enthused than a typical TJ's. The produce section and the fresh baked goods section was really fresh. I bought some delicious apples and some pancake mix for a makeshift apple tart. Everyone said it was delicious so I will give TJ the credit for the delish apples. The parking lot was pretty empty and I got a spot right near the door. I hate walking far with groceries so I was pleased. Super convenient location for the train if you need something fast to make for dinner after the commute home. The best part is the A&P liquor store in the parking lot, they have a great selection and allows me to pick up some vino with my veggies. There is no Booze for sale in the TJ's, though it does say it on the Yelp page. read more

Trader Joe's is always a fun experience when I shop there. They have their own brands (most of them organic) at affordable prices. They may be commercial, but their products and stores have a small town feel to them which is charming in itself. I've bought frozen products from them and whether it's savory or sweet, they always taste fresh. In the past they've sold creme brulee in its own ceramic ramekins. It was fun to eat and afterwords, you get to keep the 'prize'! I don't thing they sell it anymore...at least not the ones with the reusable ramekins. Just let me say since this virus has changed the way we shop, it SHOULD NOT CHANGE CUSTOMER SERVICE in retail!! The people that work at Trader Joes in WESTWOOD are the rudest people!!! I love shopping at Trader Joe's and it's tough with the way grocery shopping has changed as a whole, but still a great store with the nicest group of employees. In response to the 1 star ratings- I do think that everyone will have an off day -what with working with all sorts of people in retail- but I do think we should be the smile and friendly face as well. I generally love Trader Joe's, but this one loses a star for how small the store & parking lot are. Isles are tight, and sometimes there are overcrowding issues. Shopping lines get confusing and people cut when there isn't an obvious line formed. Otherwise, I love that there is a location close by, and I don't have to drive all the way in to Paramus to get my goods. There is a great selection of food and everyone is pleasant. read more

I love Trader Joe's!! They need to open one up in Rockland County. The pros of Trader Joes is that you can find things at TJ's that you will not see in regular department stores. Check out their "Everything But the Bagel" spice. There are knock off's out there but nothing compares to this one. They know have an "Everything But the Bagel" potato chips. Their specialty spices are bar none to any other stores or brands that carry specialty spices. They have a great selection of fresh flowers and their produce is very fresh. TJ's also carries specialty breads that are incredibly good and make really good French toast like their Maple Streusel Bread and their Cinnamon Bread. They have many specialty products you do not see anywhere. I gave you the pros and now here are the cons. If you think you're coming for Charmin or Kleenex, drive on. You'll only get their brand of everything and there are some things you should not even put on your list or your cart. Paper Towels and Toilet Paper are one a few to name. I spoke with Stephanie on the phone when I called and had questions asking if they had any delivery services so I can get Trader Joe's Groceries sent to my house. She seemed annoyed at my questions and was in a hurry to shoo me off the phone. She said no several times not even waiting to hear the rest of my questions and then hung up the phone. I trust the other reviews that this place has amazing quality of produce and goods, as every Trader Joe's that I've been to does, but come on Steph, if you're annoyed or angry your tone comes through in the phone. Random Fact: Did you know that the building TJ's is in used to be an A&P? By looking at the structural appearance of the building, you can tell that it was. Moving on, since I had some spare time to kill before heading to the place where I needed to be at on a weeknight, I stopped here. The size of this store pretty much occupied half of the building. The size is almost the same as the one in Millburn, if not smaller. As with any Trader Joe's, they carried your typical groceries (snacks, cereal, cookies, frozen items, gourmet sodas, nuts, raisins, chocolate, etc.). The only exception, however, is that they didn't sell any liquor. I stopped in here to buy some roasted & unsalted sunflower seeds for home. They had them in stock. The lines at the register weren't long at all. After paying, I was gone. At the time I went, it wasn't too crowded. Maybe because it was a weeknight and there was no threat of severe winter weather. I can't speak about the parking lot as I didn't park there at the time I went. I walked here since I parked in the downtown area in favor of where I needed to be at a certain time. As far as negativity was concerned for this experience, there was none. The person at the register had a positive attitude. If you want to buy booze, the liquor store is next door (which still bears the A&P logo...). Overall, a flawless experience. read more

The only thing keeping this from a five-star review is the parking situation. It's not adequate for a store this busy, is shared with a liquor store, and the entitled a-holes who shop here think they always have the right of way. Not the store's fault. This must be the highest producing-per-square-foot store in the chain. You can get everything here that you can get in the smaller stores, packed into a very small footprint. I've never had issues with outdated food, the produce is almost always decent, staff keeps the shelves well-stocked with the now-well-known quality TJ products. The staff, especially the older crew members, are always nice and helpful and many have been there for a long time. They have endless patience with the self-important yoga moms and their no-discipline children -- an amazing feat by itself. Go early, go late, but don't go when church is letting out around 11 AM on Sundays. My kitchen is being remodeled and TJs has kept me well-fed while I have no functioning kitchen other than a microwave. read more

Very clean, well stocked TJ's. I shop here often to get my snacks for school. I do have a few reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars however. First, a few staff members were kinda unfriendly to me and it's not a one time thing so maybe they're overworked/bad morale. IDK. Just this week the cashier looked so annoyed and didn't say anything to me even when I told her to have a nice day or made small talk (you know just to be nice! Went in to grab some vegan dessert for a party. Ended up getting Trader Joe's private label banana bread and soy ice cream both of which are vegan. Served each person a piece of the banana bread with a scoop of the ice cream on top. No one else was vegan, but everyone said it's so good! read more

Yes, it's smaller but honestly, when I've been to bigger Trader Joe's locations (mostly in the city) I've been overwhelmed and I've gotten lost in the craziness and chaos. But this location is really perfect in size, IMO. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The store is clean and everything is organized great. Trader Joe's, it's no secret that I love you. Love you a lot in fact. I love your prices. I love your Trader Joe's branded frozen foods. I love all of the seasonal products you release and how you have an ability to get me to purchase anything with the name pumpkin in it. So if I love TJs so much, why aren't I giving them 5 stars? The location! So small, so cramped. If you don't come at offbeat times you are going to be in the middle of a cluster F in the parking lot, in the aisles, and in the checkout lines. There is no leisurely strolling up and down the aisles - it's a get in and get what you need and get the heck out of there. Despite the chaos, I will applaud the friendliness of the staff. I know it's a trademark of TJs, but it really rings true here. Also, my friends in other cities rave about buying cheap booze from TJs. A great little store and has pretty much everything that other TJ's have (no alcohal though). Staff is friendly - this is a weekly stopping point for me. If you're having company over, try these appetizers: spinach dip with organic tortilla chips, garlic hummus, onion and feta appetizer, vegetable nests, chocolate chip dunkers. For lunches: organic rice krispy treats, TJ's organic french vanilla yogurt, any of their flat pretzels, mini chocolate bars, asiago rolls.
