Random Fact: Did you know that the building TJ's is in used to be an A&P? By looking at the…read morestructural appearance of the building, you can tell that it was. Moving on, since I had some spare time to kill before heading to the place where I needed to be at on a weeknight, I stopped here. The size of this store pretty much occupied half of the building. The size is almost the same as the one in Millburn, if not smaller. As with any Trader Joe's, they carried your typical groceries (snacks, cereal, cookies, frozen items, gourmet sodas, nuts, raisins, chocolate, etc.). The only exception, however, is that they didn't sell any liquor. I stopped in here to buy some roasted & unsalted sunflower seeds for home. They had them in stock. The lines at the register weren't long at all. After paying, I was gone. At the time I went, it wasn't too crowded. Maybe because it was a weeknight and there was no threat of severe winter weather. I can't speak about the parking lot as I didn't park there at the time I went. I walked here since I parked in the downtown area in favor of where I needed to be at a certain time. As far as negativity was concerned for this experience, there was none. The person at the register had a positive attitude. If you want to buy booze, the liquor store is next door (which still bears the A&P logo...). Overall, a flawless experience.

0 stars if possible. Racist store employees and no CCTV in this day and age…read more I was the victim of a hit-and-run at this Trader Joe's location. When I brought my vehicle's damage to the perpetrator's attention, she went full Karen and verbally assaulted me while denying her actions and initially fled the parking lot, not returning until just before the cops arrived. The store claimed they had no cameras in the parking lot to support my claim, because my own two eyes were not considered reliable enough. This Karen refused to take accountability, was irate, and played the victim card when police and the store associates arrived on the scene, while I remained calm, respectful, and cooperative throughout because I know how these situations go for POCs when we show the slightest negative emotion that could be misperceived as aggressive or a threat... especially when all other persons present are white. So how could she be the victim when I was the target of her hit-and-run? Not entirely sure, but whatever she did or said to the store associates and police officers worked. They were consoling her, sympathizing with her, and smiling at her throughout the situation while treating me like I was the a-hole responsible for this crazy woman's inability to self-regulate her emotions. The store sided with her, telling me as much while unapologetically spraying spit at me (yes, actual saliva from the store associate's mouth landed on my face multiple times), and no resolution was offered. The police so called filed a report which I discovered was never actually completed/filed when I followed up with their department. I was out $600 to repair the car with only my own photos as supporting evidence given the lack of store/police documentation. I escalated the matter to corporate who mailed me a $75 gift card... as if I was going to return and shop there to continue supporting their business. What a joke--I threw that garbage card out. Plenty of other grocery stores to shop at in Bergen County that don't participate in blatant racism.

The return was very easy as usual, just showed the QR code and handed the items. I found the shampoo in the designated aisle for tue price I saw online. This time I took the time to surf around the store. I was surprised to see a whole back section I didn't know about. It was almost like Whole Foods. They had hot and cold food bars, rotisserie chicken, bakery items, soups and desserts. Soda cases were on sale as well, 12 cans case for $6.99 only, cheaper than Stop & Shop. I got a muffin. Also got couple of egg rolls that were so well made. I was so pleased to see despite being 7pm, so many of these food items were still available and maintained the taste and quality. After this experience, I'd be open to visiting this store more frequently.

The food selection is like any supermarket with some twists. So that is a plus. Their desert and hot food area was nice...Smaller version of Whole Foods. Prices are ok or on par. Service was nice but the damn darkness of the place was just off. Maybe the colors too. Place seems gimmicky. Now if I had to compare this to Stew Leonard's, Stew is winning by miles. It is cheerful and lively. If you do like crowds after work and like to shop incognito and low key, this is the place. However if you like lively and cheerful, Stew Leonard's t is the place for you.

There's only one register open at all times so sometimes a line goes all the way to the back of the store for checkout. There's a total of 3 workers there. One stocks shelves, one on the register and what looks like a manager who walks around the store thinking it looks good. There's freezers and fridges leaking water into the aisles. The only good thing I saw was that they had a wet floor sign up. I can't speak on the meat section because I wouldn't even think to buy meats from here. There's piles of dirt and garbage with brooms blocking some aisles. Overall I'm not sure how the health dept hasn't seen any red flags out of this place. It's a little hard to miss, however you can see it once you've entered the shopping center. Family owned and operated since 1987. Think of Whole Foods, much less busy, not a whole lot of rushing (which is a good thing) and you take your time to browse around the smaller store. The quiet and calm was cool, for a Thursday evening, not too shabby. We came across a lot of products we haven't seen before.
