This store is amazing. It has a variety of foods, drinks and spices from different parts of the world. The prices are decent and the qaulity of food is phenomenal. I was in that store for two hours just walking around fascinated as if I was a kid in a candy store. the staff is so helpful. I do INSTACART so I am there alot...such a joy read more

I love Wegmans. If you've read my previous Wegmans review, you'll know that I grew up with them in WNY. Living in the DC area, I am still incredulously surprised as to the number of people who have yet to discover this delightful and absolutely necessary staple of life. My heart weeps for those people who do not have a Wegmans nearby. I live about 45 minutes from the closest one, and I still consider that nearby. But for my dear customers and friends in the Virginia Beach area, they do not have an excuse. Fredericksburg is the "closest" store to them, and.... well.... its not really close. But lucky for them, they know me, and I know Weggies.... so I lavish them with delightful bakery treats on almost every visit. This new location is very convenient and serves my purpose for picking up fresh items to spoil my customers. (Hear that, prospects???? See the VIP treatment you're missing out on?!!?) Thank you Wegmans, for your holiday assortments of pumpkin spiced bread last month, and cranberry walnut and gingerbread loaves to offer delicious variety. I will see you again on my January trip. read more

This store feels like a grocery store version of a mall. They pretty much have everything here, even if you do t feel like cooking. The dining area is spacious and well kept. My only issue is that it's a little overpriced. read more

The steaks at Wegmans are great. We also like their King Crab legs. They have a great selection of wine and cheese, but be careful with anything else, a lot of their products contain Dupont chemicals, I bought some macaroni salad from the deli , brought it home and ate it.The noodles tasted like cardboard and the cheese tasted like plastic ,I read the ingredients , there where 10 chemicals from Dupont that I could not pronounce along with added sugar, who puts sugar in macaroni salad.? Also the Pirogi contains a lot of Dupont chemicals that will ruin your liver in time, make sure you read the ingredients every time. Also there is no vanilla in the Vanilla ice cream . read more

My fiance and I were beyond thrilled when we found out that Wegmans was coming to Fredericksburg. We'd been going to their Woodbridge location for months now so we knew just how awesome this place is. There are the good and bad with Wegmans. The worst thing is the crowds. We've learned to get around this by going very early on Sunday mornings while most people are sleeping off their hangovers or in church. The store is barely crowded at all and it's really easy to get around the store. We also tend to spend more than we normally would at Wal-Mart or Giant. This is just because of their selection. They have wonderful things we didn't even know existed! So it's best to stick to your list and skip the market section with all the delectable ready-meals and other treats if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg. The best thing, hands down, about Wegmans is their store brand items. They are of the highest quality. Their store brand ice cream is better than a lot of name brands and is half the price. We always get their brand soda, and while the price has gone up (used to be 5 for $10, now it's 4 for $10) it's still a great deal and their version of Diet Coke tastes better than the real thing! You do need to know your prices as they are cheaper for some items than Wal-Mart, but NOT everything. However they do double coupons under $1.00, so this is something Wal-mart doesn't do. We usually hit both stores to stretch our dollar. Right now we're going to Wegmans every week, but I think once the novelty wears off we'll be going every other week. Oh, who am I kidding. We'll be there every week just like the rest of Fredericksburg. We'll just be there at odd hours to avoid the crowds! read more

This kicks the butt of Marianos and most grocery stores. They will cook your lunch or dinner served with an alcoholic drink. Raw oysters? No problem. Artisan meats? Absolutely. Different types of hot and cold buffet bars, sushi, breads.... And this is just the cafe section. They even have fried plantains OMG! Love this place! read more

For some time now, I have heard rumors of this mythical place called "Wegmans," where one can grocery shop, eat, drink, and be merry while frolicking with unicorns. Well, maybe not the last thing. The scene: Red Robin in Fredericksburg, VA at 10PM. BF and I have just finished dinner at the bar. BF loves IPAs and microbrews, so he asks the bartender where he might pick up some beer. The bartender explains that the Super Walmart and the convenience stores in the area sell beer, but it's crap like Coors Light and Budweiser products. If we want a good beer selection. we should go up to Wegmans, about three miles north on I-95. I had been planning to go to bed immediately after dinner and had asked BF to drop me off at the hotel before he began his beer quest, but at "Wegmans," I perk up. I've always wanted to go ... this is my chance. We pay for our burgers and drove up to Wegmans. It's kind of hard to get to because it's in F-burg's "Central Park," basically a huge shopping area with every chain restaurant and big box store you could ever want. But we find it and walk into the store. *EYES WIDE OPEN* What do I see? Fresh produce, artisan cheeses, pizza, sushi, salad, baked desserts, beer of course, and much, much more, as far as I can see. BF picks up some Raging Bitch to complement the one that is developing in me--I am really tired by this point--and some blister bandaids for his footsies. The IPA is on sale, and Pam the cashier is kind enough to give a "courtesy swipe" (that's what she called it; it sounds kind of scandalous, right?) so we could save 50 cents. I have now seen what all the fuss is about. I need to forget about this grocery store so I can go back to shopping at Market Basket in ignorant bliss. read more

I know everyone loves Wegmans, and I can see why, but in my opinion, I feel they are pretty expensive in general, I personally get a bit overwhelmed at how big it is, but I do see why everyone loves it. The pharmacy is fast in and fast out, never any problems. I do think their selection is awesome, and the food bars are amazing, I was surprised they even have a wine bar, lol. read more

New, clean, huge, expensive grocery paradise a la Whole Foods.

So Wegmans was having its grand opening in Fredericksburg today, and like everyone else in Fredericksburg I was there to witness the moment. The presence of the many policemen on Carl D Silver Highway was the proof that something interesting was going on in town and, also of how horrible the traffic was. After turning around for about 20 minutes looking for a parking spot and not finding one, I decided it would be wiser for me to park at the expo center and walk a little bit to the store. And after getting my free saving Wegmans card at the store entrance, I entered the store and WOW what a nightmare, it was packed. I couldn't even make a move without almost stepping on someone's toes. I could hear all around me people being apologetic to each other or husbands asking their wives "honey do we really need all these?". But enough said on that, the question is: would Wegmans meet all my expectations? Absolutely, it did. The meat department is the largest I have seen in grocery stores in Fredericksburg, and the meats look really really fresh and of a good quality. They have all kind of steak and stew meats. I even bought for myself some Ribeye and Strip steaks. I was however a little disappointed with the price; for the same amount of pounds I could have got the strip steak $2 cheaper at Ukrops. I was also happy to see that they carry lamb meats from different part of the animal. You can also get fresh dairy from the store. I love yogurt, and I like their selection better than anywhere else in Fredericksburg. The cheese selection was not bad as well. The wine store was incredible. They have wine from different parts of the world and mostly wine from France from what I have seen. They also have fresh produce and fruits area, a cafe and a sushi bar. The service was great as well and the employees very friendly and helpful even thought they were also learning to know the store themselves. So, if you are looking to get your grocery and the rest of your household needs in one store, Wegmans definitely will have all you need. Wegmans is a great addition to the few grocery stores we have here in Fredericksburg, and I will definitely go back for more. read more

The price on the wegamans brand stuff is great and very comparable to other stores brand prices. Produce selection is good.

I LOVE this place. We have nothing like it where I come from. Tons of great selection; including many organic/natural options that are relatively affordable. Plus, it's very clean, the atmosphere is pleasant and there's a model train rolling around in the rafters above your head-- very unique! Additionally, the staff was VERY polite and friendly. Genuinely lovely people. We were very happy with our shopping experience! read more

This was a large, well-stocked grocery store similar to other Wegmans in Northern Virginia. They have a large selection of the usual grocery staples at competitive prices and a large selection of premium prepared foods in their bakery and meat departments. They operate several food bars including salad, soup, hot entrees, coffee, pizza, and subs. I particularly like their subs. They also have an extensive selection of beer and wine. read more

It's always clean in here, even in the bathrooms. I'm pretty sure they clean them on the hour, every hour. Such a large variety of fresh and organic produce, gluten free, soy free, and vegan options as well. Their prices are comparable to any other grocery store, but the architecture is reminiscent to that of a castle! I don't generally buy generic brand items, but I will at wegmans because their store brand products are spectacular! You can also find little odds and ends your average grocer won't have, like the wegmans brand lemon and dill finishing butter I picked up today! read more

Not the best Wegmans I've patronized. Prepared food & salad bar didn't look as good as other Wegmans. I opted for pizza, which was ok but oily. Would have been more satisfied with Little Caesars for less $ than the 2 slices I ate. The flower & plant selection was inferior to other Wegmans. Otherwise, the store seemed to have the selection & prices I expect from Wegmans When I went to the restroom, I had to wait to use the "family restroom" to change my son's diaper. A few minutes passed before a young Wegmans employee emerged. He had no cleaning supplies & imparted no malodorous wake. I'll let you draw your own conclusions about what he might have been doing in there. There were no liners for the diaper changing station. read more

There is nothing that I love more than a trip to Wegman's. Although I prefer going very late at night and enjoying a lack of chaotic traffic of hungry people, I am never disappointed. The produce lasts longer than any other grocery store I've ever been to. (This includes fruits & veggies from my own garden btw) And if you're in a pinch their hot food bar is relentlessly favorable.(Vegan friendly) Their staff is always knowledgeable, and willing to help me. BEER & WINE OPTIONS ARE ENDLESS.... AND THEIR VEGAN OPTIONS ARE TO DIE FOR. Hands down the best place ever. ILY WEGMAN'S read more

One of my most favorite stores and place to eat. I moved here a few years ago and I was surprised at the fresh produce, assortment, deli, and seafood. It's clean and well lit/stocked. There's a nice wine shop and good assortment of wine offered. I love shopping here. read more

I choose where I shop based on quality of goods as well as customer service and overall experience (hence why I will always shop Target over Walmart), and Wegmans is no exception. A few years ago, a colleague told me about Wegmans in Fredericksburg, I decided to take a little trip about 60 minutes north of RVA to see what the fuss was about, I have been a believer ever since. Destination grocery shopping. Who knew. Fast forward to February 2016; Richmond is soon to get two of its own Wegmans stores, one in Midlothian and the other in Short Pump, and i cannot wait, as evidenced by my trip up there just this past Saturday. If you have not been to or heard about Wegmans, let me try to describe it. Family friendly, clean, hospitable, service-driven, great foods, amazing selection, good prices. The bakery is insane, fresh in-house made breads, bagels, muffins, cookies. There is ready made food, including pizza, sandwiches, salad bar, hot foods bar with Thai, Italian, Chinese, American, something for everyone. The deli meats are stunning, can you say American kobe roast beef, sliced thin? Cheese, olive bar, hummus bar. Seafood. Organic fruits and vegetables, gluten free isle, health food section. Bulk nuts, granola, and candy, buy your favorites by the pound, from sour gummy worms to premium malted milk balls. A stunning wine and beer store. The greatest greeting cards, awesome gift ideas, kitchen knick knacks, movie nights and live music offerings as part of their frequent special events. I love Wegmans. It is only missing gas rewards, but their prices are quite good. We look forward to welcoming Wegmans to Richmond. read more

Wegman's is awesome. Period. It's a very clean, trendy and warm. In at least two occasions my wife and I needed unique items for recipe we were working on and friends referred us to Wegmans and sure enough they had it. I've had several business meetings in the food area and the food is always of great quality. The wine and meats selection and prices are among the best in the Fredericksburg area. I love the atmosphere, professionalism of the staff, layout of the store and the prices are great! read more

I love wegmans! They have a variety of everything! BUT I was highly disappointed when I cut into my son's birthday cake last night ... the amount of buttercream ratio to cake is pretty ridiculous!!! 2 years ago I got a birthday cake from wegmans(special ordered) and it was PERFECT but for the amount of buttercream that was stacked onto this cake was pretty disgusting,my party thought so too. I'm really upset I spent $51 on a cake I'm not happy with. Well I was happy with it until I cut into it.... my son didn't even like it and he loves sweets. He told me there was too much icing. I rather have my money back!////// update : I was refunded the $27 for the cake(before decorations). I'm satisfied. I'll remember to get a cake from someone else next year. read more

Not sure why my old review said the sushi was a good price. It's not for the quality. It's better to pay a couple more bucks and get take out from a Japanese restaurant for better sushi. So Wegmans now have dim sum at their Asian bar. They usually have steamed white buns filled with mushroom and...something else I think. Or maybe it was just mushrooms. It was just okay but I am more picky about steamed buns. Then they sometimes have the pork and shrimp dumpling. They look fine but I haven't tried them. Then they have the shrimp dumplings...they are called "Scallop"-something. Maybe it has scallop paste mixed in the shrimp? I don't see chunks of scallops in the dumpling. Anyway, this dumpling is SO FREAKEN GOOD. It is wrapped in a semi-translucent dim sum wrapper. Though I went around 6pm on a Saturday night and there were only one left in the dim sum tray and they never refilled it. I was so devastated. Then I went on a Sunday around noon and they had it! Didn't know they brought it out during the lunch hour. FRESH corn at Wegmans. And get this, it's better than the farmers' market corn. It's really a shame because I LOVE the farmers' market for fresh produce but their corn was flavorless!!! It kind of gets me mad that I had been paying $5.50 at the farmers' market for a basket of strawberries when Wegmans had giant SWEET strawberries for half the price. The best farmers' market strawberries weren't even that sweet. Maybe 2011 was just not a good strawberry season for Virginia. LOVE the bulk area. It was difficult for me to find unsalted roasted peanuts but they're there at Wegmans! And definately like the colored m&m's in bulk. Those are expensive and other stores sell a bag for $8. Now I can just buy enough of the color I need and I didn't have to buy a full bag of it. If you hate the crowds, don't go during the day on Saturdays. If you go during the day on Saturdays, it won't be a good idea if you need to pick up just a few things because it will drive you crazy when people are in your way and take their time. This is a place where people stay a while. I deal with the weekend crowds because I believe the produce is fresher when they keep bringing out more when we keep buying! read more

Wegmans is by far the best grocery store! You can't beat their produce and meats. Today I helped break in a newbie on his second day when I spilt my coffee all over the cart and the ground... I think I apologized 30 times and tried to clean it up, they intervened, tried to talk down my embarrassment, and offered me a new coffee even though it was my fault. Ive been in customer service for 15 years, it's great to know they take care of their customers. Thank you to the trainer and trainee for making me feel like less of an idiot. Special thank you to Nathan for cleaning up after me, I'm still terribly sorry you had to! I will continue to travel 30-50 miles to get my groceries! read more

The Mecca and one of the many jewels of Fredericksburg. I can't speak for other locations, but this Wegmans has the freshest produce and meats in town. Couple that with a wonderful and helpful staff and competitive pricing and you have one of the best shopping experiences you can find anywhere. Anytime we talk about going to get groceries it's never the "Hey hun going to pick up some stuff from the store" it's "Hey hun i'm going to Wegmans, do we need anything?". A place this amazing deserves to be referred to by name and nothing less. read more

My husband is the Poster boy for Wegmans! He reads the magazine cover to cover, eats there every chance he gets and has only complained about service once when the clerk wouldn't look for a product for him. He was furious and should have reported it. Btw we had several "dates" there before we got married and ohhh he adores Wegmans and wants to go to every one that opens both in and out of the area. read more

This is our favorite grocery store in town. They have anything and everything that you can thinking of. There has only been one item (ground almond flour) that I have not been able to find. The bakery has some of the best fresh bread you can get. Our favorite item from the entire store is the Beef Wellingtons, unfortunately they seem to only have them available for special occasions (holidays) otherwise we would be buying those every week. They are pricey, but well worth it! I have been several times just for lunch and have gotten the buffet and the sub shop, both of which tasted great. My only complaint is that the Wegmans card does not give you any money back. If you have a $400 bill and swipe your Wegmans card you will save maybe $1 and sometimes even less. There really is no point to the card as far as I can tell. read more

My favorite place to shop in Fredericksburg! You have to remember that you get what you pay for. But, the store brand is still of great quality and cheap! The quality of the food is amazing. Fresh produce and dairy, big variety throughout the store, decent organic and alternative selections, and clean. I gave four stars because: The cashiers and baggers are generally fast, but there are almost never enough checkouts open. I picked up a fresh made pizza at the pizza counter and it wasn't very good. Overly greasy and lacking in flavor. You do get a lot for the money. The large is super huge and is only $10. A lot of the produce and dairy is overpriced. Identical products can be bought at Target et al for cheaper. Come here for variety, not for price. read more

I love Wegman's it is my favorite grocery store. I recently went there for subs to take home to my family. Toby was great and live up to the customer service standard that I come to expect from Wegman's. The problem started when I asked for mayo on the side. A woman came over and told me I was not allowed to have mayo on the side granted I have getting mayo on the side for as long as I can remember. I explained this to her and was told to get mayo packets. I asked why I could not have the mayo on the side considering they had just given me mustard and sub oil on the side and was given no explanation just told to grab mayo packets. I wish I could remember the rude woman's name. read more

They may as well close at 7:00! This Wegmans has really gone downhill recently. It used to be so customer focused and a very pleasant environment. Now it appears they've cut their staff and some of their offerings, and the staff that is there seems overworked. After a long trip, we went there at 7:00 pm last Tuesday and wanted some dinner along with other items. There was actually some food on the Asian bar (which is usually down to a few bites by about 6:00 without being replenished). An employee was standing there ready to close it down for the night, but I was able to get mine first. I noticed a group of people who'd just gotten off work looking at that food too, but I'm not sure if they got it before it was taken away. My husband wanted a sub at the sub shop (since the previous $6 meals have gone up to about $12, and are prepackaged instead of customized). There was no employee at the sub shop counter, even though the sign posted that it was open until 9:00 PM. We finally saw that she was back in the kitchen doing her chores. We finally got her attention, and she muffled something softly through a mask, saying she would serve us after she finished washing her cutting board (or something like that--she did not enunciate well). As she went back to the kitchen, my husband decided to buy a $4 frozen pizza instead. When we noticed there was not any sliced Pane Italian bread in the bakery, we had to walk way over to the desert area and get someone's attention in the back room to slice our bread. The shelves all over the store had many large empty sections, and we could not find all that we needed. (We had to go to another store after that, but it was well-stocked so we found all the other items we needed.) The girls working at the self checkout area were talking silly teenage talk and giggling while looking at their phones. Fortunately they did help us when we needed it. The exception to the implication that the store and employees were done for the night was the deli; the nice man with the beard cheerfully served us with a smile and seemed to want to put the customer first. This used to be our favorite grocery store in the area, but now we have decided to shop elsewhere most of the time. We still will use the Wegmans Pharmacy, since the customer service is usually amazingly great there. read more

If you're in the mood for Asian/Indian food, you're hungry, and you have to do some food shopping, there is no better place. Very cool to sit above the shoppers in the market area of the greatest grocery store presented to mankind. The food is always fresh and delicious and is presented in a buffet/pay by the ounce scheme. The dining area is separate from the rest of the grocery store and is heavily themed. While Asian and Indian cuisine are focal, there are also sandwiches, pizza, coffee, seafood, salad, and almost any other type of food you can think of. A regular stop for this family. read more

I love Wegmans! It is a destination trip for me. They carry things I can't get anywhere else and prices, on the whole, aren't THAT much higher than anywhere else, except for meats and café items. I will say that shoppers here seem to be a bit more detached, wrapped up in themselves and not so "socially aware" as to respect other shoppers trying to navigate the store etc. This surprises me for a somewhat upscale store. So, for that reason, I do not make Wegmans my regular go to store. The shoppers at Giant are still the most courteous in my opinion. Otherwise, Wegmans is grande! The staff is helpful and checkers are always fairly speedy and courteous. Presentation is awesome throughout. read more
