This place is always fun, especially when they hold special events here. I like the area where there is a working scale model freight train high above the ground. Everything in this place is well laid out as well. read more

We're do I begin?......... This is not our ordinary market its have surpassed any other markets companies I have ever been too. So some reason my wife and I have a hate each other when we have to go to the market, really we do its we push it off till our icebox is empty and then and only then we go. This market Mecca has every thing we could ever ask for. The food in all the departments are always fresh and I mean FRESH!! The people who work here are SO happy all the time to be honest they should not be getting paid to have so much fun working. Every one says "hi" and I'm not just talking about Chestnut hill rich people "hi" people that are shoppers and workers really are happy and how could you not be happy just walking around in this place. The colors are amazing. The parking is not a issues at all and you would think that as this location is in a very crowded shopping plaza. This market has every thing for every one. Do you work in the area? Go here the amazing large buffet is always fresh and plentiful. The lines are quick and simple to grab your food and go. You even may ponder why am I not as happy as these employees and the answer is you don't work for Wagems. It would be stupid of my to put Whole foods in the same sentence of this market however I can see how people would think it's Wagmes competition however it's not by a LONG shot. Wagmes makes WF look like the market basket in Somerville (before the renovations) The dry age meat section is top tear. The seafood selection is as walking into a five star seafood restaurant. The produce surpasses anyone's expectations. read more

Wegmans is unlike any other grocery store. This Chestnut Hill location is particularly great. I love that it's right next to Soulcycle, so I can pop in there before or after my workout when I need to pick something up. I love the selection and prices as well. The fact that they're open so late has been a life saver too. Now I live in LA, and I miss Wegmans all the time!! They should put one in California ;) read more

All of my experiences at Wegmans have been negative. The majority of employees are rude and lack customer service skills. One cashier argued with me about cash back and when her manager approved my request she was very annoyed. Another cashier didn't say a single word to me when I went through her line, no greeting, no smile, she didn't even tell me what my total came out to. It's a shame I live so close and it's convenient but at this point I'll save myself the aggravation and just drive the extra distance for a better experience. read more

Oh Wegmans, it is strange to see you in MA! Being from upstate NY, I had to make it over to check out a MA Wegmans as they having been creeping closer and closer to Boston. This is no Dewitt Wegmans, but it is pretty good and boy was it packed on Sunday afternoon. I grabbed some Spiedys sauce, reasonably priced gluten free brownie mix, fruit and pasta sauce. I was so happy to see some of the Wegmans products I know and love (salsa, chips, etc). I didn't get any cheese, but it looked like they had a good variety, same with the seafood dept. - lots of variety and everything looked fresh. They had a good amount of prepared foods and some nice looking fresh flowers. The prices were not bad compared to the Shaw's I usually go to since it is across the street from my apartment. Definitely a good variety of items compared to some other stores. And got to love not waiting long in a check out line - Wegmans. If it was more convenient for me to get to, I would definitely come back from time to time. read more

I wish I could give this 5 stars b/c Northborough Wegmans DEF gets 5. First of all I had NO idea where to park. There are no signs and I ended up parking in front of the liquor store which is kind of NO WHERE NEAR the actual grocery store.... After walking in and realizing I had to go back to my car, drive around the entire building and re-park, I was kind of annoyed. Carts were hard to find - not near the door. Store was clean and smelled great and had TONS of interesting things and displays. Cheese samples which was nice. Although the cheese counter guy was not very smart about what he was serving and could not really answer my questions. Also could not find fresh mozz or burrato - maybe it's not with all the other cheeses but I was annoyed b/c in Northboro it's RIGHT THERE with all the other cheeses. Overall total was more than I thought it would be and the 5 apples i got were 8 bucks! This was weird - and probably a mistake. Getting home was miz. On a Friday afternoon both exits were completely backed up! read more

NIce groceries, decent prices, but a little bit of a mob scene. If it was less congested and more convenient to the road I might go there more. Today it took me 15 minutes just to get out of the parking lot, 5 minutes of which was just spent trying to back out of my spot. I spend enough of my time in traffic in Boston, I don't want traffic just to get in and out of the store. read more

Wish these existed in California. Safeway sucks in comparison Lots of pre made food Extensive grocery selection Mainstream brands Good prices read more

It could of been a great store. But if you there before 12 it is half empty and you see staff scrambling to fill the shelves. If you get there after 9-10 pm the store is half closed. Deli is closed. FIsh is closed. Not sure what is the point of that store being open if most departments are closed. The biggest problem is that there is a a lot of rotten stuff around the store... There seems to be a very poor management. Avocados are rotten. Strawberries are rotten. Raspberries are rotten... Thee is a salami next to a cheese department with is beyond rotten. And prices are not cheap by any means. Other local supermarkets have issues too... read more

First time visiting a wegmans. I liked it. Clean, a bit cluttered from the people but that was ok. A large variety of different foods and friendly staff..it reminded me of a whole foods but on a much smaller scale. If i had one in my area i would go, but i dont so i dont think id go out of my way for it. read more

Having family from Rochester, I've always loved Wegmans. It is so exciting to have it here in MA, especially since you can by some Rochester specific things. It is a great place for your everyday, regular grocery shopping. Tons of organic options and inexpensive products. I haven't tried any of the prepared foods, but they all look awesome and there are tons of options. It's a good place to grab a quick lunch. I also love that the staff are so friendly here. Any question you ask them they will try to answer, and if they can't, they find someone who can. They are also everywhere- I've never had a hard time finding someone to ask questions. My absolute favorite thing about Wegmans is the app. You can make your list, see pictures of what the item looks like, price compare, get a price estimate, and it tells you what aisle everything is in! So helpful and makes shopping quicker. My only complaint is that since the store is half the size of most, some things randomly go out of stock. Usually it's nothing major and there's another brand of the same thing, it's just annoying when you're looking for something that's not there. read more

So I had my first full grocery shopping experience in Wegmans and I am impressed for the most part. I feel like if Wholefoods, your Shaws/Stop and Shop, and Costco had a threesome, their love child would be Wegmans. I didn't really get anything from the hot food bars which looked and smelled amazing as I sat in customer traffic attempting to get to the meat section. I finally make my way through (took a slight detour by the pre packed fish) and began the hunt for my weekly staples. Instant gratification when I see the boneless chicken breast fresh in a giant package for a mere 10 bucks. Turning around I peruse more of the meat section and find the bacon. I was a bit disappointed that the only normal sized package of thick cut was maple flavored... So I ended up getting their 3 pound pack for 12 bucks. Totally more than I wanted to buy but that what freezers are for right? Deli line was as atrocious as the prepared food area but much to my chagrin there were selections already packaged that I could choose from next to the counter. Also right there was the antipasto bar with tons of olives I despise but plenty of other great stuff. I spotted my favorite Stuffed cherry peppers and began tossing them in the container when an employee came over and told me I couldn't use the tongs (that were already in the peppers when I got there) because they didn't go with the peppers. He took them from me and told me to use the spoon which honestly I can see why someone else may have put the tongs there, the spoon wan not slotted so to scoop up some peppers you are also scooping up tons of oil and liquid at the same time. Seemed like a price jacking method to me since it is calculated by weight. So I round the next corner and I am taken aback by the smell and their fancy cheeses are directly across from their flower department... Kinda reminiscent of feet and febreeze... So I go towards the aisles instead of produce, path of least resistance kind of navigation and I'm pleased to find things like yogurt and eggs in bulk and at great prices. I've never been brand specific aside from a few things so I loved that there was a Wegmans brand in just about everything. I even got Wegmans brand sports drink since I have added Gatorade to my no more list since it spawned the fine print of containing genetically modified ingredients. Wegmans brand did not note that on their label so it made my conscience feel better and it saved my wallet to boot. I parked my cart and ran through the the bakery and produce sections supermarket sweep style and got the last things I needed then braved the check outs. It was timely however all lines were open and there was also a big group of self check outs. I did notice that there were no express lanes and people with a few items had to get in the same lines as people with cart fulls and they seemed annoyed. I just listened to my headphones and thought about how despite the odd tongs interaction, Wegmans will probably become my main store. read more

Wegmans is great. They have fresh groceries for a reasonable price for the most part. They have really fresh meat and other produce. They have delicious tasting cakes and desserts. there is also a wine shop connected to it, as well as a Starbucks and several other nice little cafes. read more

They've fixed the lighting, added cashier lanes. The self-checkout is a bit of a mess. I prefer to check my own groceries, that way I can bag them the way I want. There is only room for one bag at a time. I'd like room for two bags, if possible. Prices are okay and seem to be consistent throughout the chain. You don't seem to pay more for the store being in Chestnut Hill. read more

Original Rochesterian here and I'm so happy that Wegmans is so close to our house! We have and always will continue to do our shopping here. Great selection, good prices and even better food bar! Unfortunately the customer service here isn't always up to the standards that I'm accustomed to for a Wegmans. It's not bad...it's just isn't high quality. One particular thing that results in the 3 star rating is the lack of cleanliness in the dining area. They never clean off the tables! I've seen this each and every time I've gone shopping. I've said something to the front end mangers and they always attribute it to the store being busy but I've been there when the store is quiet, with employees standing around and the tables are still disgusting. Not sure why they can't stay on top of this! read more

Okay, so I was really surprised to see the 3 star overall review of this store. But after reading through the reviews, I can understand, I think. I still think this place blows most of the regional stores out of the water. I rated the store 4 stars and I'll come back after trying some more of the store brand stuff I bought. I live in Burlington and I wanted to take a little scouting expedition to see what the big deal was before our local store opens in October. I had heard people ranting about how great Wegmans was for years, and people in our town have been anticipating the store opening for a long time. I took my daughter and we went to the Chestnut Hill store, arriving at 10am on a Sunday. Parking and getting into the store was easy. Probably because we went reasonably early, it wasn't too mobbed, but it was crowded. Navigating the aisles was a bit tricky, but similar to other stores, and nothing compared to Market Basket, which is cheap, but so crowded it is unpleasant to shop there. I think the Burlington store will be bigger, and it is not surprising to me that the Chestnut Hill store would be more tightly packed due to space being a premium. I think the fresh food sections are comparable to Whole Foods but less pricey: All the fresh food areas, produce, deli, seafood and meats were very nice and high quality with average-high prices, but not outrageous (except for seafood ). The olive bar, trail mix bar, bulk candy selection and cheese sections are a cut above and are really remarkable. The foreign/exotic food section was also a cut above. I haven't tried any of the prepared meals at this store so I can't speak to their quality yet. As far as grocery staples, I was pleasantly surprised. A nice selection with competitive prices - similar to Stop and Shop. Again, I haven't tried their store brand yet, but I was astonished to find $1.99/half gallon organic milk, and the frozen veggies had a lot of nice varieties. The mini-danish bar might be deadly for me - I bought a box of a dozen danishes and all the ones I tried were excellent. Overall, it was a really nice shopping experience, I will probably go back again before the Burlington store opens, despite the drive. read more

I made it into Wegman's through the snow drifts. I was there to get a prescription that could not be filled at my last visit. I got there before it was returned to stock. My pharmacy experience has been fine and continues to be. Gripe: Cashier team leader Caitlyn wasn't in a free hearted mood. I had grocery coupons for this week. I asked about the ones I had for last week. I was turned down cold. "They are expired." I knew that but she was as hard as this winter has been. Also Wegmans can be just like WalMart. I can have 4 items. But cashiers are going back into the grocery bag to confirm a purchase has been made that the coupon applies to. Is this 2015? It is like WalMart in that if you buy a toolbox, the cashier will look inside to see if there is a CD. I don't think this is the customer experience I was told I could expect. Nordstrom, known for sending flowers as mea culpas, has nothing to worry about. read more

When Wegmans opened in Chestnut Hill, Mass it was wonderful... unfortunately now it's a different picture especially in the produce department. Was shopping there couple of days ago and everything I needed was a substandard condition. Lemons and limes were all old, wrinkled and blackish... asparagus was also very sickly looking. Everything else in the store is fine. Wegmans pay attention as there are stores around you which gotten their act together since your opening i.e. Star Market... read more

I've always find what I need here. On weekends, line tend to be really long but moves fairly quickly. Prices are comparable to stop and shop or shaws but seems like the quality is better. A star taken away because their cafe selection isn't as great as the Westwood location! Today... I was wondering around the cafe for a bit trying to get something to eat... after 15-20 mins the food still wasn't replaced yet. Maybe they are cooking in the back but that was a bit disappointing. read more

Awful experience. I had a TERRIBLE encounter with an employee named Brandon in the Home & Entertaining section. He was extremely unhelpful and when I asked to speak with someone else to help me, he was very rude and told me to find some else in the store instead of directing me. I even tried to ask the price of an item and he ignored my question and shrugged. He did not help me at all, and was on his phone the entire time. Will not be going back and have told all my friends about my experience and they will not be revisiting either. read more

So after seeing the large signs placed at the entrances proudly announcing a Prescription Meds Drop-Off Event on April 24 from 10am -2pm, I thought, "What a great idea!". I went through bathroom closets and bedside table to collect old meds snd arrived at 1:30pm to drop off a bagful of them. Did not see a collection point anywhere, and on asking Customer Service, a nice young man informed me that, "Oh yeah. It went til 1pm". I showed him a photo of the sign I had made to track the times, where it clearly says 10-2pm. "Oh, well they left at 1pm. Sorry." So if Wegman's announces an event, maybe next time they could avoid inconveniencing and disappointing their customers by sticking to the announced times? read more

My friend and I decided to stop here on our way to the MFA for a snack (looking at art can be exhausting)! We hit up the prepared foods section and filled up a to-go container. The potato wedges were great-had the flavor of curly fries. We thought the pork dumplings were just ok (too little filling and a bit bland), but the Asian green beans and steamed fish with a soy sauce based sauce were delicious. The Buffalo wings were better than the BBQ ones. Neither were crispy, but that's to be expected when food sits under a heat lamp. The Buffalo wings had great flavor. My friend loved the tofu, but I didn't try it. We both thought the curried chicken salad was good. There were these shrimp in a cream sauce that were odd tasting, but not bad. We also had a cold beet salad that I thought was good, but my friend thought bland. We had a couple of bites of each item-the cost was 13.99 (9.99 per pound was the rate). There was ample seating, although there was very little space between the tables. The area was clean and the bathroom was pristine!Overall, we enjoyed the food-it way better than getting "snacks" from a gas station. read more

Wegmans - Sampling from prepared food section - Grocery Near Me - Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts

I've been meaning to post about the lack of customer service but this morning was the final straw. I went in looking for turmeric, couldn't find it and asked someone stocking produce. He told me that if they had it, it'd be right where we were standing, so they must be out of it. I found it 10 get father down. I returned to the employee and said, "It would be nice if employees knew more about the store than customer.". He laughed, a true chuckle. I told him I wasn't kidding, it would be nice if he knew more about the store than I did. He just continue laughing. I found a manager. read more

I do not recommend going to this Wegmans right now during the COVID-19 pandemic. Everything was fine two weeks ago when Wegmans implemented a capacity limit and line outside the store. I'm fine waiting if it means not being completely and utterly stressed while doing my shopping. Well tonight we stopped by and it was an absolute cluster-F. People were everywhere in the store making it an abolute stress-filled mess attempting to get my shopping done. There were at least 50 people in the produce section alone, making it impossible to navigate. You're better off at literally any other grocery store during this current climate. read more

This is a pretty good Wegman's. It has a large parking garage with an elevator that stops right in the store so you can grab a carriage and go. Like all Wegman's stores, there is a great selection of food. You walk through the prepared foods and then hit the seafood, then produce and the deli. This is the kind of place that you have to make a list before you go, and it helps if you know how to navigate the store. It had aisles and everything, but the layout was a little weird. You have to walk through narrow areas before you get to the standard aisles of food. It was really hard to get by everyone waiting in line at the meat and coffee counters. The organization of the store doesn't make total sense, but I think it is probably doe on purpose so you forget how much money you're going to spend. That's probably the other downside- the food is kinda expensive! It's expected that food will be more expensive in the city, but I'm not used to it yet. I'm cooking for 1 and I spent over $60. Yikes! I'll go back though. Maybe take a nap with me next time! read more

I absolutely love everything about Wegmans in general!!!! The staff is so friendly and helpful and I know Wegmans pays them better than most other stores which is nice because you know they are sharing their wealth. When you walk in the whole top floor is wine and if you are under 21 you are even allowed on the floor. Then below is the actual grocery part. You can take the stairs or there is an elevator to get own stairs. There also is a parking garage connect or very close and my friend has told me it's free but I personally have never used it. When you enter the grocery section you will find already cooked food, already made smoothies and some raw meat. The already cooked food can be in a to go container for you to buy and heat up at home or they have a hot and ready section where you can buy food and go eat it up front. The food selections include Asian, Italian, salads, chicken wings, Mac and cheese, there's a deli for sandwiches and much much more. I would find it hard to believe that you couldn't find something. After the prepared food there's a place to get fresh fruit prepared for you or the "normal" way. There's a place to get meat and fish. There is a deli and a pizza shop. They have a great organic section ( fresh and not) throughout the whole store along with GF. Have a bunch of different cultures included in the store but mostly your basic groceries in America. Have none grocery items too, like paper towels, shampoo, vitamins etc. I personally 100% believe that everyone Wegmans brand is better than name brand and most of the time Wegmans offers an organic version too. Their prices can be generally more however if you know how to shop you can leave saving a lot of money. At Wegmans you get quality and quantity!!!! Only downside to this Wegmans is the paper bags! Mine broke and 3 jars of sauce broke with in. Make sure to double or triple bag especially if you are walking to the bus stop or t stop. read more

Expensive, massive. Lots of stuff to look at, sample and consider. A bit overwhelming and quite frankly pricier than Whole Foods. But it has so much variety and things to chose from, that its worth the visit. Just be aware it can get REALLY crazy on weekends! Pretty good grocery store. Wegman has better prices than whole food and they have same quality. Wegman also look better than stop & shop.

This review is based on its salad bar and hot food section. I came here at around 8:30pm on a weekday night. The food section on the side was almost close and there were only some Asian and American food left at the self-service station I had some squash that looked pretty good, but unfortunately it tasted so bland..so bland I could literally boil a squash and it would taste just like that. The tofu looked decent too but it tasted like rubber. What chemicals did they put to process the tofu? I also got some quinoa salad which was just okay. I love the hunan cauliflower, which was flavorful but I was pretty sure that one cauliflower cost probably 2 bucks. Well, it was not even close to being a meal but the bad food=$8 bucks. You can do better than that Wegmans. read more

I love apple chips but had only been able to find tiny little bags until now. I even resorted to baking my own for a time, but I don't got the time to do that whenever the craving hits! They sell the biggest, most glorious bag of apple chips (30 apples/bag) here and I absolutely love it. I haven't explored Wegmans much, but this definitely makes me want to keep coming back to explore more. Oh, they also have wonderfully big bags of frozen mango chunks that make the smoothie addict in me simply giddy. read more

It's worlds better than your average grocery store, but not as life changing as advertised. Their produce is sometimes hit or miss. Prices are decent, especially with their coupons, but they're not the cheapest either. Layout is somewhat odd, and it's usually a shit show inside. Where they extra earn points with me is; their prepared foods are pretty damn fresh and the liquor store upstairs has a great selection of well priced beers. They also have a pretty vast selection of whatever foods you're looking for. My new goto grocery store... read more

This review is about the pizza counter. I ordered a half buffalo chicken half meat lovers medium pizza. It was only $13.99 which I thought was pretty affordable. However, the pizza tasted literally like what wegmans smells like. It's so bizarre; but everyone with whom I split the pizza thought the same thing. The meat lovers had a lot of meat by again the crust tasted weird (like wegmans). A little disappointed, and won't be ordering the hot pizza from here again. read more
