The bakery workers at Wegmans go out of their way to, make your bakery dreams come true . I guess this is the place to do your grocery shopping in Chestnut Hill. I also guess that everyone local does all their grocery shopping all at the same time. It was absolutely ridiculous trying to find parking in either the outside lot or the parking garage. Once that chore was finally accomplished, I decided to consider having lunch at the food court. I had a tough time finding what they consider that. There were 2 hot food stations with about 8 options each, plus a healthy bowl station. That was it! Deciding to pass on a meal here, I decided to look for the dining area anyway. It was a long and narrow stretch of tables on the other side of the registers, which might accommodate about 20 people. So much for that. Obviously a food court area was sacrificed to make room for groceries (lots) and specialty stations (also lots). There were, of course, lots of registers and self-checkout kiosks to go with that, all active. Navigating through the store can be challenging. With all this, it's still a Wegman's, and as such, I'm willing to still be favorably biased towards them. And of course, if I lived locally, this would still be my place to shop. read more

Ample parking, drive around corner and down the hill. The top side in the plaza is their liquor and spirits section. This location is always busy, i think they've been around for quite some time here. I know during lunch rush it's a mad house. We came here for some strawberries and grapes for our charcuterie board as they usually have nice large ones with nice crisp on the green grapes. Quick and easy self checkout and mission accomplished. Shop had employees directing the flow of people to the proper checkout areas and it was fast for us. read more

I love this Wegmans location! I usually come here right after a work out and it has everything I need. They have a great selection of pastries, fruits & vegetables, cheeses, shampoos (yes!) and more. If you like goat cheese, I find that Wegmans actually has a fair price for their goat cheese, even cheaper than from Trader Joe's. For shampoos, they have many brands, including the ones you'd normally find at Target or other drugstores, and as well as Olaplex and Redken! Wegmans for me is definitely like a one stop shop. They even sell 12 pack of CorePower 42g protein shakes. I have been having great luck with their strawberries lately. They had a sale for a big box of strawberries, for only $3.99! All 3 boxes I bought were extremely fresh and huge! Every thing I have purchased from Wegmans has always been fresh and a big plus is that they are open late every day until 12am. That's it. I will not shop at Wegmans anymore. I have been noticing the produce is not as good as it used to be. Also that the inventory has been getting more scarce. But today was the final straw. I ordered the Ultimate chocolate cake large size for my more than a daughter in law's 40th. I did so in person so that there would be no confusion or mistake. Not so. They showed it to me and I said that's not the size I ordered. Caitlyn said, with Paul who took the order standing beside her, 'yes that's the size and it's correct. Many sentences later nothing changed. I said this not the way to treat a customer. Made no difference. It's unfortunate because the bakery is good but I will not shop there again. To save yourself aggregation do not bother going to Wegmans for anything!! read more

This place has the worst run pharmacy. They never have any medication in stock, dont know when to fill the medication, and generally have no understanding as to how to disperse medication in a normal fashion. Completely useless. Moving my prescriptions out of this pharmacy. read more

This is a really large, well stocked store and especially great for prepared foods. Lots of healthy options for ready to go meals and platters. When you walk in the store everywhere you look there's all kinds of mouthwatering food lol! There's plenty of sushi and also a build your own sandwich counter and pizza. Ambience is nice. Their fish section is great with lots of fresh and wild caught fish options. I'm a bit of a fish snob and will only buy wild caught fish! and so I do appreciate when stores have different options besides the usual salmon and cod. Here they had bronzini and a few others. The fish also seems much fresher here compared to the regular grocery store. They also have a very large variety of smoked salmon options which we like as well. The produce section is huge and has everything and they even have an Asian produce section which is cool! Fresh herbs too! Huge bakery section with yummy cakes and tarts and cookies (see pictures). Since this is out in the burbs we only go here once in a while and this time we got some cod, smoked salmon, bananas, fresh parsley, cooked Peruvian chicken and chili lime rolled tortilla chips. Parking was easy in the connected garage. One tip if you're only going to buy food, park at the lower level. Last time we parked at the upper level and walked over which is the liquor store and so had to wait for the elevator to go down to the grocery section and back. But this time we remembered to park at the lower level and just walked In straight to the grocery section. Being a Sunday afternoon it was definitely busy with lots of people and carts everywhere. Curbside Pickup at Wegmans has a low minimum of $10 and no fee. Substitutions ring up at the new price, while Stop and Shop gives you the substitute at the cheaper price, but charge a $2.95 fee for Pickups with a minimum order size of $30. Star Market has the same $30 minimum, but no fee, and charge the price of the substitution. Their curbside pickup option is called Drive up & Go. Drive in and around where they have several spots saved for Curbside. Then let them know that you are there by clicking the link provided. They'll roll it right out and load up your trunk for you! And in a pandemic world where tipping is everywhere and expectations have risen, there is no option to tip on this app! I hope they are paying their grocery pickers a decent hourly wage. I LOVE Wegmans. I's teetering close to the #1 ranking, Trader Joe's, and certainly beats out, in terms of overall price/accessibility/shopping experience, Shaw's, Star Market, Safeway, Market Basket. Especially having previously lived in Manhattan where grocery shopping is a full-on contact sport, having beautifully wide aisles and extra elbow room is an unequivocal luxury. Wegmans is a veritable treasure trove. My favorite items to get here: bacon cheddar turkey patties for my husband, the sliced Kobe roast beef, the prepared foods like a chicken Caesar wrap for a quick lunch, the cranberry walnut cream cheese spread. The only downer I've gotten is the Wegmans brand eggplant hummus - the taste and texture were super weird and I couldn't finish it. I've lucked out and had only good experiences with the produce I buy here, though I do make sure to inspect it carefully. Cherries, bananas, grapes, apples - all great here! I do wish they had the big-sized watermelons out more, instead of the puny mini ones. The bakery items look super tempting, especially the layered peach cake they have during the summer. Just a note that their return policy is a little more absolute than TJs - a receipt and it has to be unopened. Convenient location and I've never had to search all that hard for parking. Lines for self-checkout are manageable. They also brought back seating at the front for food. read more

My least favorite Wegmans store! My goodness why is it always so cold in there year round? ; it's like visiting the North Pole!! Whenever I go it's because I'm nearby for dinner and just need to pick up a thing or two: and more likely than not they don't have one of 2 items ! Also the carts are all outside , when it's snowing or raining yes, you can park under cover but then you have to go outside to grab a cart!! I love grocery shopping. When I travel, I often go to the local grocery store to see what is popular. Because we were missing a few items for the upcoming week, it was the perfect opportunity to indulge in grocery shopping. What? DId I just say that? I asked that we go to a Wegmans rather than the grocery stores closer to where I was staying because it is my favorite. I actually championed for a Wegmans in SE Michigan. There is a prepared foods section but the one here is much smaller than others that I've visited. I like the deli counter, though the selection was not as great, but I thought that the service was prompt and friendly. The bakery was above average and I appreciated the large variety of ice cream flavors. They had both McConnell's and Jeni's brands, among more recognizable brands. Prices in this more exclusive area in Mass is comparable to those in Michigan. read more

I came here on a post-Thanksgiving grocery run. First, beware of the produce they put on display at the front of the store. It ALL had expiration dates within 48 hours of the day I came. When I went foraging in the back of the produce section, lo and behold, expiration dates a full week later. Magic! The store was very crowded and messy from all the customers treating the bins and shelves like a toilet bowl. Store staff seemed obsessed with working the cash registers and not so much with cleaning up the mess. Prices were ridiculously high and sale items were still overpriced. You would think that the string beans were grown by Loius Vuitton and the granola was a limited edition by Gucci. Prepared food items were nothing special and parking was a challenge given the crowds. Next time I'll be shopping at Shaw's or Stop and Shop which suck and are a ripoff too, but at least they don't aspire to being the Neiman Marcus of supermarkets. Ick! read more

Do NOT order for delivery using the Wegmans app. They will not tell you but they hand off the entire process to Instacart. And neither Wegmans nor Instacart is reachable when the entire experience goes sideways. My first Wegmans "shopper" was rude via text and made cancellations and substitution without asking ( but which showed up on the app. ) then sent a picture of a woman wearing little more than high heels and Daisy Dukes standing in front of the milk cooler. Then the shopper went to radio silence. I tried to get a response and after 15 or 20 minutes a new person pops in. Who are you? I ask. The person explained that they are the person assigned to pick up an order when the original shopper quits or misdelivered or whatever. I said great. Just cancel my order NOW. The shopper does not respond, but according to the app continues to shop. I call Wegmans ( this is the second time; the first time I called was when the first shopper started following Daisy Duke. ) .I finally got connected to the person whose job it is to explain that Wegmans isn't responsible for app orders and that they subcontract out to Instacart and thus cannot cancel the order. Wegmans is less than 3 miles from my house and this circus has been going on for more than 3 hours now. They're still claiming the order is on its way. Really looking forward to that ice cold roast chicken. Take my advice and do not order for delivery on the Wegmans app. These people are an embarrassment. read more

Positives: very good prices, good selection of produce, in house freshly made sushi, poke bowls, very large selection of tasty "heat and eat" meals, very good selection of fresh seafood, organic meats, some fancy meats such as Berkshire pork, very good olive and cheese departments, and a solid in house bakery department. read more

VERY UNHAPPY WITH PHARMACY, called in prescriptions yesterday, told they would be ready same day, I let them know I would be in first thing this morning and told no problem. I arrived this morning to be told one was not ready but would be at some time later today and other is not available out of stock and should be here tomorrow. Procedure is today, need meds to take immediately following procedure, yesterday I could have made arrangements with another pharmacy. Clearly lack of concern for customers which is inexcusable in health field. Produce is generally very good. I really like this store in Chestnut Hill as it's clean and cheerful - especially compared to some of the options in Brookline. Inflation has indeed hit hard this year, but Wegman's seems to have REALLY taken advantage of it. The prices there seem to rise more each week. Today I went and got my daughter a prepared food dish, which we used to do pre-COVID pretty regularly and eat there. Now, the eat-in area is gone & the hot food bar is $16.99/lb!!! Totally outrageous. That'll be the last time we do that, unfortunately. I am considering doing most of my shopping at Market Basket now and just buying produce and a couple of items at Wegman's, moving forward. I am not sure why and how Wegmans has such low reviews. Wegmans is great. Great prepared food, very fresh, lots of yummy grab and go lunches. They are have good marinated meats, fresh fish, and lots of cheeses and cold cuts. Ambiance is good, I think the store is laid out well. The service is good, what you would expect from a grocery store. As a whole, Wegmans has a great selection of things, you can pretty much find anything you might want or need. It is our go-to grocery store. It is also one of the only grocery stores in Newton open until midnight. I have to thank Wegman's and especially one of the managers Maria for helping us out with a huge ice cream order for an event at Newton South High School. I called the store in hopes that they can provide us with over a thousand individual ice cream cups and Maria made the experience flawless. She called me back several times trying to first clarify the details and then confirm the order. This was done within 3 days of the actual pick up date. The pick up process was also very organised and easy with a very nice gentleman from the frozen department (I wish I asked his name) who even helped to load up my SUV. Thank you all very much! So my experience at Wegmans yesterday was quite surprising. I went through the store and as usual the meats were way overpriced but I picked up a few items as always and proceeded to the cashier.There was a young man named Ayoola at the register.Apparently he has no idea about customer service and he definitely is not a math genius.The reason for my one star is because this young man should not be speaking to customers and he should not have anything to do with money.What I'm about to say please don't take the wrong way because the amount of money is minuscule. The problem here,it's the principle and the combative nature of the cashier.I proceeded to put my items on the counter and Ayoola (the cashier) started to ring them in.I'm not sure about most of you out there but I watch the screen and see what they're charging me for each item.Obviously I don't remember the exact cost of every item that I purchased.However he rang in baby bok choy and I glanced up at the screen and noticed that he had charge me $3.49/lb for the baby bok choy. I said excuse me the baby bok choy is only $2.99/lb. He proceeded to tell me that yes I understand but I only charged you $1.54.And I said yes I understand what you're telling me I can see it on the screen that you charge me $1.54.He then went to scan the next item. I said excuse me I just told you, you charged me the wrong price for the baby bok choy. This young man then went on to try to give me a lecture of how I didn't charge you $3.49 I only charged you $1.54. In my mind I'm saying did this young man not hear me say that it was $2.99/lb. Repeated myself 3 times and he kept insisting that he didn't charge me $3.49/lb he only charge me $1.54. After going back 3 or 4 times with him I asked for a supervisor. When the supervisor named Latrese came over, the cashier Ayoola requested that I explain to her what's wrong because he did everything correct and he only charge me $1.54.I am amazed at the stupidity of someone weighing vegetables and not knowing how it works.The girl was dumbfounded and didn't really understand what I was saying and asked me what the difference was.She tried to do a calculation on her phone rather than just eliminating the item and putting it on the scale for $2.99/lb. She apologized and looked at the Ayoola who stated again "I didn't do anything wrong", still insisting he only charge me $1.54 for the baby bok choy.In my mind saying to myself what is going on here? Do they not understand simple math and simple pricing? How can Wegmans allow someone that doesn't understand price per pound to ring in your vegetables as this is a standard procedure for probably every customer. How many times a day does this happen? Now mind you I'm an Elite Yelper who enjoys fine dining.I don't mind going out to a restaurant and spending $300-$400. So this has nothing to do with being pennypinching.This is just ridiculous that someone isn't trained for what I believe would be a huge part of his job.Latrese apologized to me again. I told her it's not your fault.I said Ayoola firstly shouldn't be telling me don't worry about it. I informed her that his direct quote was when I was trying very hard to explain to him about the difference in the price per pound and he kept on insisting he only charge me $1.54 not understanding the difference between how much is on the screen and how much it cost per pound. Then have the audacity to tell me "Don't worry about it."He's basically telling a customer not to worry about paying more money than what the price posted is.I told him and her that this is totally unacceptable.At this point Latrice asked me what is it supposed to be I said it's not a lot of money it's probably $.20. So you're not gonna believe what happened next. She goes oh I'm just gonna put a coupon in for $.20 is that OK? So now after 15 minutes of standing there trying to explain how weight and pricing works, they giving me a $.20 coupon rather than just re-weighing the baby bok choy. I usually wouldn't go in depth so far in a review but again I am just dumbfounded that they don't teach the cashiers simple calculations on how things are priced per pound.I applaud Latrese for coming over and trying to defuse a negative situation and doing the best that she could. However as a supervisor not saying anything to Ayoola for his incompetence and especially for his combative nature towards a customer. This is totally unacceptable and I hope the management reads this review and pulls Ayoola aside and at the very least teach him a little bit of mathematics at least enough to weigh in vegetables while he's trying to be a cashier.Also teach him how not to speak to a customer because unfortunately I will not be returning to Wegmans because of this incident and my family and friends Won't be going back either.Wegmans lost about a dozen customers because a cashier was incompetent and couldn't resolve a $.20 issue correctly. read more

I was in the area and needed to pick up a few things, so I decided to save myself a trip to Whole Foods and go into Wegmans. I'm glad I did. I love shopping at Wegman's! It's a more upscale supermarket often compared to Whole Foods with a large selection of produce, baked goods, meats, and exotic food on top of the usual supermarket items. Parking is easy as they have a large parking lot and a parking garage. This location is very clean, organized, and has a lot to offer. I last went here for their sushi fest (special 2-day event) in April and they had an amazing variety of freshly made sushi, sashimi, whole fish, hot pot and other Japanese cuisine cuisine and I was very impressed. They also had samples of sake, sushi, and roe. Yes, the prices here are more expensive than if you shop at a discount supermarket but the quality and variety of options here more than make up for it. read more

This Wegs is more of a 3.5 but I'll bump it to 4. It pains me to give this place a less-than-perfect grade, but this Wegmans is sub-standard. I have friends that intentionally go to Burlington because they're too good for this one. But for mere mortals like me... Those that compare here to Northborough have an inherently flawed argument: of course this diminutive outpost can't match the behemoth out west. If you could put the awesomeness of Northborough into the size of Chestnut Hill, then why have a Northborough-sized supermarket? Urban markets can't be big. I also expected to not see everything that you'd see at other stores. You won't see a whole lot of western New York products here (I generally don't see Perry's Ice Cream, for example). However, here are major flaws that are controllable here: 1. The prices here are higher than any other Wegs in the area. This applies mainly to produce, deli, dairy, etc. 2. Customer service here is the worst out of all the Wegmans I've been to. I've been to a bunch in Western New York, so I can compare a bit. Chestnut Hill doesn't have awful service; in fact, it's probably better than most supermarkets around. However, it doesn't meet the standard that I expect at a Wegs. It's inconsistent, as you'll often times get good service but sometimes bad. Maybe they all don't take their happy pills here. :-P 3. Why mess with a good thing? The sandwiches here are not made with Dibella's-like bread but rather a generic ciabatta. And the sandwiches are expensive too. The prepared foods are fine besides the sandwiches and the produce is of the standard I'd expect: above-average to excellent. The alcohol section upstairs is fine, and one Saturday they had caviar samples (from Idaho), which surprised me. Speaking of which, don't come here during the weekends (save for early morning or after 7 pm) unless you enjoy playing bumper carts with annoyed people. The aisles here are cramped, as you can imagine. The best way I can describe this Wegs is that it's adequate for someone that's yearning for nostalgia from suffering, I mean, living in western New York. When Westwood opens, I'll have a (likely) better Wegs to go to then. People, stop using an apostrophe with the name of this supermarket. You all look like amateurs. read more

I love to shop at Wegmans when I'm in Boston, the produce area is a large open area filled with fresh fruits and veggies as well as cut and chopped prepared packaging. They have an amazing guacamole. The prepared foods area is so big and varied. You will surely find anything you can imagine from steamed oysters and lobsters, sushi, sandwiches, soups, salads, flatbreads as well as hot entrees like roast beef, mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese. Don't cook just stop in and take it home ready to eat. I also love their cheese department. We always pick up Wegman brand French onion dip. I highly recommend it. I enjoy roaming up and down the aisles just shopping for all the new and exotic items they carry. read more

It is not unusual for produce like onions, bananas, tomatoes to be out of stock. Leafy greens are almost always wilted, that's if shelves aren't bare. I was delighted when this store opened given my experience going to one in upstate New York, but this store disappoints in many ways. I often now save myself the time and frustration and trek over to Dedham for a much more pleasant shopping experience. read more
