I am a HUGE Wegmans fan! There are always a wide variety of selections to choose from when grocery shopping. They have an excellent gluten free section. One of my favorites ever. They have a ton of pre-prepared selections of fresh food, including juice, salsa, and meals. In addition to their excellent grocery options, they also have a great cafe with quite a few options to choose from. I especially love their sushi, hot food bar, and subs. I have loved coming to this place for years and years. As everyone on the planet already knows, this grocery store is a store like no other. I came here today to pick-up a few items to hold me over for the following week. Just a few items turned into more than a few and I started off with a half gallon of organic milk from Homestead Creamery. I then went around and got a gallon of Wegman's premium orange juice, Wegman's raisin bran cereal, and some Tide liquid laundry detergent. Then I walked all the way to the other end of the store where they have produce. It was in this section where I saw most of the employees working. I was hoping and praying like I do every time to stumble upon Cherimoya fruit but as luck would have it they didn't have it. There's a new Wegmans in the DMV!! When I first moved to Virginia, the thing that got me hooked on Wegmans is that they sell Juniors cheesecake in the freezer section. Since then, I always seem to find myself finding rare treasures that few other grocery stores but Wegmans carry. This particular Wegmans is my favorite because the store is brand new and in a beautiful, clean plaza that is still under the radar so it's usually not crowded! Oh and did I mention they sell Oatly? They are the only grocery store in the area that I've seen sell it. Can't wait for my next visit to Wegmans to see what new favorites I discover! read more

I've been to this Wegmans a few times. I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable. I've gotten everything from groceries, wine, to a last minute Halloween bag. The seafood is very fresh. I prefer Wegmans seafood department to Harris Teeter. One of the butchers has a hair net on his beard. He has great suggestions on recipes to go with different cuts of meat. He pointed me in the right direction on which cut of skirt steak went well with the Mongolian beef I was making for dinner. The meat is very good quality. There is also a good selection of halal meat that's a better price than some of the items at halalco. The candy section has an area where you can buy bulk candy. I like the variety in their international aisle. I have yet to try their prepared foods. When I am in a rush I will pick up pre sliced vegetables for our dinner. read more

What a great store! I love Wegmans in general, but this is the first time I've been in this location. I really only went in to pick up a few items that I really needed, but I walked around for about 20 minutes to take a look since it was late evening and few people in the store. The layout is certainly different than the Fairfax store that I am much more used to visiting, but I think it is separated off nicely and wouldn't get quite as busy in some areas as the Fairfax store is. Frequently there, there is a bottleneck at the entrance, but I don't see that as being as much of an issue in this store. Overall I like this location and will be back to check it out again in the future when back in Chantilly. I now live closer to the location in Sterling and that's the one I favor most often. read more

When your tummy is full from some good food. Man oh, man. Wegman's food court is delicious! I've tried multiple items from here and they were all amazing. Sushi: I had the salmon sashimi and the avocado roll. The salmon is super fresh, nice, and fatty. The avocado roll is really fresh where the avocado is not even discoloring. Fruit Tart: IS AMAZING. Seriously try it. Fruits are super fresh and the crust is almost like a cookie crust. DELICIOUS White cake with Chocolate Frosting: Cake is super moist and just a perfect pair with chocolate frosting. The food here is just really good overall. I will come back over again. My absolute favorite grocery store in the area. They enforce social distancing and masks. They always have sanitizing wipes when you enter to clean your cart and they have sanitizing dispensers at the entrance as well. Always makes me feel safe when I go into the store. However this store has somehow managed to hire check out people with the amazing ability to only utilize one arm at a time and have the additional skill of not being overly friendly. I don't shop at this store often but when I do, my family and I usually have pleasant experiences with Wegmans. I bought my mother a cake for her birthday and she ended up having to return it because it was stale. Upon returning it, my mother was met with unnecessary questions from the CSR who for some reason didn't want her name tag revealed and dodged questions whenever asked for her name. My mother was ridiculed for the method of payment used (EBT) and was being judged for it. After exchanging the cake and leaving the line, she noticed that the woman changed her attitude and was nicer to the gentleman who was next in line. I called and got the woman's name and I just want to say Shame on you, LINDA. You make people like us not want to shop at Wegmans. read more

This is my go to grocery store hands down. It literally has everything I could ever need or want. The produce is always fresh, beautiful, tasty, and abundant. The produce is probably my biggest draw because of the variety, accessibility, and the option to buy things chopped, minced, or even spiralized! The bakery is definitely always fresh, the breads are usually plump, flavorful, with just the right amount of softness. You can watch them baking everything from the tortillas to pretzels, dinner rolls, cakes, cookies, and even the chocolate ganache. They are truly a one stop shop for all things baked. Then the meat and seafood department is plentiful, most things are vacuumed sealed in-house and you can always ask for smaller or bigger cuts if you don't see what you want readily available. The amount of ready to cook dinners packaged in oven-safe packing with directions clearly identified on top is a game changer for when you don't have enough time to cook. I could go on and on about Wegmans... there's so many things to see and buy and enjoy. But I can wholeheartedly attest that if you go you won't be disappointed... especially at lunch time if you can't decide what you want... they probably have it there and you can get it by the pound or to-go. Pro-tip, if you buy their family value packs or their wegmans brand 365, the prices will always be cheaper than competitions and in some cases cheaper than Costco. read more

Here's an idea for management: Have an emergency response plan that you maybe teach your employees. Fire alarm goes off in the Wegmans. And because nobody in the store has obviously EVER been part of a fire drill, the following ensues: 1) Most store employees look confused and only a handful start making their way to the exit. Some literally acted like they had no idea what the alarm and flashing lights meant. 2) Most customers continue shopping as if whatever is happening doesn't apply to them. Nobody immediately stops operations and directs them toward exits. It takes nearly three minutes before those of us near the bakery see a cluster of employees leaving the store out the side exit. No concern was shown for customers in the store by these employees. 3) Those customers who have already purchased food for in-store consumption choose sloth and gluttony over evacuation. Nobody immediately directs them to leave. 4) Half of the employees who do leave the store abandon their shifts completely. Exactly ONE employee states "Maybe I should find my team". There is no semblance of mustering or team-level accounting. Get your act together. read more

This Wegmans is a great addition to the Chantilly area! It's bigger than it's counterpart in Fairfax Corner, but offers all the same amenities. I usually get sushi when I hit up the W, but sometimes I like the hot bar (especially the veggies). Produce is solid, and a wine area rivals Total Wine. This wegmans has lots of outdoor seating, some of which is completely covered by an large overhang. (Some of the tables just have umbrellas). This is a perfect place if you want to sit outside but it's very sunny or a bit drizzly, because of the overhang. Many, many to-go food and drink options inside. Fantastic clean bathrooms. read more

I love the many food options at wegmans. They have something for everybody. I've been looking for the best pizza in town so I decided to try the pizza shop located inside of wegmans. The itshroom and cheese pizza was really good but not worth $3 a slice. If they were bigger the price would make a little more sense to me but they aren't big slices. read more

I'll admit that I've never fully understood the goofy love of this chain that so many seem to have, but I have been going here regularly for the last few years as the shopping experience tends to be a tad better than other stores. By shopping experience, I mostly mean the workers are more or less helpful and pleasant and the checkout process isn't a disaster. I don't know if it's just my luck or if something is changing, but the checkout process has been pretty awful during my last few visits. Very long lines, very little help. I felt for the friendly but clearly overwhelmed cashier I had today who was struggling with some very annoyed customers (easily 20 minute checkout lines today). Beyond the shopping experience, I think pricing is on the high side for name brand products, but the Wegman's branded products are a better value. I can't tell you how much money I've burned on overpriced prepared food over the years. To each is own! It's great that so many people love this place, but as the shopping experience advantage seems to be slipping for me, I think I'll take a break from Wegmans. read more

Since I don't have a Wegmans near me, every time I am near one, I try to go there to eat there. I probably should confess that I am a grocery store junkie and Wegmans is one of my favorite stores of all time. Absolutely love this Wegman's! I used to live by the Fairfax one so I frequented there a lot and we recently moved over by this one. Not only does this one seem super well kept and from what I've been told (only a year or two old), the food seems even better here. I'm a Wegmans fan (braved the Dulles store's grand opening!). This new one lives up to the billing -- it's big and beautiful. The Burger Bar is a nice addition. Docking one star for: 1. I am usually at the Fairfax Location, since it is 10 minutes away. BUT - this new Wegmans in Chantilly upped their game! They have a burger bar and a taco bar! Burger Bar - really great burgers. We came here opening day because we were so excited to check it out and my fiance is a burger fanatic. (#burgersalldayeveryday). He ordered the Maple onion burger. I ordered the cheeseburger kid's meal. BOTH burgers, really juicy and very fresh! The prices for the burger was decent. I think the cheeseburger kids meal is a real deal! You get a decent size mini burger, side, a drink (refillable) and a small soft serve in a cone or cup for $6!!! I was really happy about this because it was just the right amount of food for me. The also serve beer on tap and wine. I REALLY hope that the quality of food and service won't diminish later when the store has been opened for a while. You know when you just need this one hard to find item that can't be found even when you have gone to every supermarket within a 2mile radius of your home? And you tried your hardest not to leave the neighborhood because you don't wanna get stuck in traffic or deal with the highway... but there's always that one store just outside your radius that you just know will probably have but just Incase they don't you don't wanna venture off into the unknown just to be disappointed... Umm I was excited that a wegmans was coming to chantilly when I used to live in chantilly. I made the trip from Burke to chantilly to check it out..store looks like a wegman store but I think something is missing. I think it's the layout..it doesn't flow and some items are mixed with other(gluten free)..why all breads are not in one place. Are the prices higher than the Fairfax store? It seemed like that to me. Also the folks serving sample food offering seem to have some kind of attitude..like "why are we giving these free samples to all." Some stuff is not consistent with other stores..like the mini cupcakes are not in the fridge like in the Fairfax store. I wondered why..and the restaurant offerings were priced considerably higher in comparison to Chipotle and Cava outside. I will stick to the Fairfax store for now until chantilly one grows up! read more

I'd give it to and a half if I could but why don't you all allow halves! As I was in my check-in, I'm not impressed and this place is highly overpriced. I just went for the sake of going and spent $42 on nothing. Overpriced fruit because it's pre-cut just made me want to buy some seeds and grow my own. Not one employee spoke and I passed several, I looped the fresh food section twice looking for chicken salad, never found it. I walked through the whole store as well and it was clean, people stocking and re-stocking but still, no one spoke. The store was packed, a lot of traffic jams..I used self check out for my items, missed the sign that said NO CASH on self checkout but the attendant was kind enough to suspend my transaction and I walked it over to customer service where Maggie helped me. She was sweet, even helped me get my membership squared away because my card had my ex-boyfriends phone number and not mine but I'll probably be sticking to Wal-Mart or Food Lion. read more

I love Wegmans and go out of way to drive from Reston to the Dulles location. So when I saw a new one was opening in Chantilly, we decided to give it a try. After shopping the store, the first word that came to mind was "meh." I felt that Dulles actually had a better selection of a lot of items. The arrangement is very awkward in several areas, especially the whole gluten free/health food section and the baby items hidden in a corner- you would think diapers wouldn't be that hard to find! Some of the aisles seemed very narrow with unnecessary displays blocking the paths. Staff was still being trained, and often were blocking aisles as well. Finally, I didn't need the commentary between the cashier and the bagger on every item that was in my cart. I'll stick to the Dulles location until one opens in Reston eventually. read more

I decided to check out the new location. Very clean, lots of available staff to guide and assist customers. My first stop was The Burger Bar due to all of the positive reviews from my neighbors in Chantilly. Unfortunately, the burger lacked taste and flavor! It was undercooked, I requested well done, but it was pink. The Tuscan fries were good. Maybe it was an off day. On to the shopping... the fruit and vegetables are super fresh! The layout of the store is weird and I expected it to be the same as the sterling location. Speaking of location, I'm not sure if the new location is closer to me. This is not like any other Wegmans. I am giving this two stars based on the fact that they have Wegmans products. The store is dreadfully set up. Everything is everywhere and you have up go back and forth because some items that you expect are in one area are somewhere else completely unrelated. I know they said this is a new store, but there have been other complaints that I heard from friends and colleagues about this location's set up. I generally feel overwhelmed at wegmans because it's so big with so many options (and a lot of people). I don't shop here often, but they do have an amazing section of produce, meats, breads, desserts, hot food, and more. For my friends bridal shower, I bought a large tiramisu and large strawberryish cake. Both were devoured. I love the bakery here plus the food bar has endless options. I like to pick up deli meat and cheese here as well. The closest stores are both out of my way, otherwise I'd probably come here more often.
