This Wegmans is our nearest large grocery store and one of our favorites. My wife and I frequently go here as they have a wide selection of food and drinks. We come here at least twice a week to get any items we need for our lunch and dinner. Some products can be a bit pricier, but the quality of anything you buy here is top-tier. This Wegmans location I try to use it when possible but they NEVER HAVE ALL THE ITEMS. It's hard to believe that on a Monday I ordered 10 basic items and only rec'd 7. Then when I went to the store a few moments later the items were available. I don't recommend their service, if you do get all the items they are usually wrong. I've addressed this with management, corporate and still nothing changes. Except now I'll only order from Foodoo!!! Everything is always replenished and stocked, meats are fresh, cookies and cake A +++. As for Wegmans...stay away from them. When reaching Brooklyn after the drive from Virginia it was great to be able to order for delivery my essentials that my son didn't keep in stock. Wegmans is my "go to" grocery store. So I knew exactly what I needed. Since the store closes at 11pm, rather than the midnight hour I'm accustomed to in Virginia Beach, it was obvious that the grocery order must be first priority upon arrival. The selection was large, as is the beauty of Wegmans. They must stock the store based on the local ordering patterns. So some of my favored flavors of the Yasso Frozen Yogurt bars I crave weren't available. Everything else I needed was available. Delivery was prompt & the item quality was as wonderful as their store where I normally shop. Wegmans, you'll always be my grocer. Thanks for being in Brooklyn when I needed you. read more

Three stars for Wegmans Brooklyn currently. As Isaac N noted, this location has declined recently. Unlike the Manhattan location, the Brooklyn store feels like a step down. I'm a Wegmans fan but this store needs work. Items are out of stock and the aisles are messy, littered with carts, like an obstacle course. I took a few photos but my pictures cannot capture the experience. Locating items can be a challenge and when you finally find where they are, many things are out of stock. It looks like they may have discontinued a few specialty products I used to like. The thing that haunts me : The live lobster tank. I'm walking around and then I pass by the seafood section only to be confronted by a lobster desperately trying to escape. It's as if he knows the deal. We make eye contact. I feel awful. I'm still thinking about it. If the goal is to make customers shop at the Manhattan store, mission accomplished. read more

Wegmans is a gold standard for grocery stores. I appreciate the quality of the produce, the great selection of product and the value of their "Wegman's" branded food. I went to this location on a Saturday afternoon and found it to be not busy. Plenty of cashiers open and the self-checkout had at least 6 stations available. I appreciate how they have discreet security monitoring self-checkout. I needed help finding an item and a store associate gave me immediate directions. Grocery stores aren't known for ambiance but I love the smell of cheese when I walk in. It reminds me of being back home in VA. read more

I've been using Instacart from Wegmans for a few months now. Love it! High quality and very fast shoppers. The shoppers are very communicative too throughout, for example if the store is out of an item-- one worker even took a pic of other options. I know it's nice to sometimes do your own shopping, but this place is far from me. So convenient, and nice to cook at home with organic Wegmans produce and meat. I recently ordered groceries from Wegmans through Instacart for my mother in law who lives in Brooklyn. We live in CA. We have ordered from other stores and the expiration dates, size and quality of meat as well as ripeness of fruit have not been great. But everything we received from Wegmans was excellent! Despite their claims of "consistently low prices" Wegmans is now more expensive even than the infamous Whole Foods Market, yet it offers significantly smaller selection of products. I don't find any value in paying premium prices for store brand products. $10 for a loaf of bread is criminal. Moreover, there are so many personal shoppers at any given time, that the regular shopper is always risking getting hit by their shopping carts. They just run without any consideration to anyone. Wow this store just keeps on getting stingier and stingier. I always went here for the salmon, but it's gotten kind of gross looking, even after the price going up. I really can't believe how expensive the whole store gotten - many items even more expensive than Wholefoods. There is a serious lack of organic produce and the produce section is just a MESS half the time and not well organized. You could walk in circles for 15 minutes just to find a lemon (pro tip, they also have single lemons in the seafood section.) Okay I went to the one in the city, but didn't want to lug anything back, but I was really mesmerized by the one in the city and so A was like we can just go to the one in Navy Yards. OMG - total 360, not the same at all. Not the same vibe and so I wasn't impressed at all. The food area didn't look like what they have in the city where it made me want to work around there just so I can get lunch. This place didn't have much and I knew they were going to charge for the cheapy brown paper bags, because I saw all these people carrying their own bags and I said to A, I think we're going to get charged for bags since we totally forgot to bring any. Moving on, I tried to get prepared horseradish and no one knew what I was talking about here and I went to not one but 5 people to just to locate the whereabouts of this horseradish. First person was nice to walk me to the wrong area, but he basically was running, it's like dude, slow down man, we're not in a competitive race. He asked the person there and the person there ends up handing me horseradish sauce or something that came in a squeeze bottle. I said no, this is like a can situation where it's not mayo, or whatever, but just horseradish. She said maybe check in the fridge section around the cheese and I looked it wasn't there, but I saw sauerkraut, so I looked on their website and I showed someone and someone was like I don't know and another person was like check in seafood. Then I showed another person in seafood and boom finally it was there. It was a struggle. I rather go to the one in the city. On our cheap days... we shop at Tops (plus it was literally across the campus vs. having to get someone to drive us to Wegmans). Wonder if it's still the same.... Everything is true, their products are so fresh, and selections are wide & far! This location brings back so much memories, we walked every aisle (ok, almost...), bought way too much stuff but don't regret it. Besides... we live too far! Love my baked cookies and wish I bought more! Ugh. Just like Wholefoods, lots of cook food stations and prepackaged, pre-made eats, but feel like their selection looks more delicious (I might be bias); and their namesake brand items looks yummier too (than TJs). Why it's not bad? - Huge selection and variety across the board - The cooked / prepared food options are plentiful - Large, clean and well stocked - There's an on-premises bar. Buzzed shopping might be more enjoyable. Why it's not great? - Pricing wise, I'd say it's definitely more than Trader Joe on a whole. Certain items are more expensive than Whole Foods -- their organic items for example. - No convenient paper bags like Trader Joes or Whole Foods. Makes for transporting your groceries a bit challenging if you forget your own bag. - It's not really located near a train line so if you're not a nearby resident a car or an uber is your best bet for a full grocery run. - Kinda seemed like 75% of the people there were shopping for others. A lot of gig workers. Nothing wrong with that but the situation lends itself for one to assume that the higher price points coincide with the client (those who can afford to pay for grocery delivery). read more

Becoming increasingly disappointed since their opening in Lake Grove Long Island. They opened with a huge and fantastic variety of selections including fresh produce. Well what a deterioration since opening week the summer of 2025! Their leafy green vegetables are wilted -- so much so that I'm shocked they leave them in the shelves. Guessing their customers buy very little greens and the store's losing money. Expectations are a funny thing--the cult-like following that Wegman's has, the vociferous support of several of my friends (especially my upstate/Western NY friends)--it was hard not to wonder what magical things occurred in a simple supermarket. After moving closer to the area and having temp access to a car, decided I had to finally give it a whirl. And my personal verdict... it's a supermarket. I mean it's perfectly fine--like Whole Foods, some things (like their in-house brand) seem like great bargains, while others seem a tad overpriced. They also seem to lean heavily (far too, in my opinion) on those in house brands. I guess if you are familiar/a fan of those already that's a boon, but in many cases (e.g., yogurt, hummus) I felt like the non-Wegman's choices were way too scant and I just wanted my, e.g., regular Ithaca hummus or Fage yogurt I'd expect to find anywhere. Nice place and by most accounts seems like a positive company/place which is great. Glad I experienced it, but it's a little out of the way and requires a car--see the appeal for some, but personally didn't find it worth a regular schlep. read more

Wegman's isn't about what they have in stock. It's more about what they don't have. And it's very little. This giant supermarket is comparable to being the Disney World of all supermarkets. You cannot get enough or even realize what they carry possibly existed. Interested in a lobster boil dinner already prepared? Done. Wegman's has it! What about crab stuffed mushrooms or jalapeños? They have that too. As well as a built in fish market, enormous meat and cheese section and bakery. Once I got the lay of the land, I was zipping around the store getting some necessities and delicious treats. This store is not only a feast for your stomach, but also your eyes. Unfortunately, I don't live close by to this location so it can never be my go to store, but I am happy it has a home in Brooklyn. On another note, I only became familiar with Wegman's with the opening of this location. No, I'm not from Rochester. At the entrance, you'll find your fix for lunch or dinner--a burger station, Poke bowls, a Cafe, pizza and sushi. The possibilities are endless. As I made my way around the store, I randomly chose some must haves: uncooked wild salmon burgers, a hunk of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, half loaf of Rosemary sourdough bread, Wegman's own Cilantro Jalapeno dip and a few other items. After all, I was taking the bus! Wegman's prices stand reasonable. Definitely not as reasonable as Trader Joe's. More akin to Whole Foods. But with Wegman's, they carry brands that are familiar. When I think about Wegmans, the word that first comes to mind is "fresh." The sushi is usually quite fresh. In fact, the staff can freshly prepare some of the sushi items for you such as ebi and scallop. The produce is fresh and priced reasonably. They also have special produce items exclusively available at Wegmans stores such as seasonal jumbo blueberries and on our recent trips, Lori Anne peaches. The seafood is also fresh and the selection is For example, when I was cleaning a bag of organic mussels for cooking, I only found one mussel that was already opened and had to be discarded. The meat selection here is also amazing! They even have thinly sliced meat that's hotpot ready! In case you feel like slurping, you can even get ultra premium quality steak at $200 a pound! If you bring your young kids here, be sure to ask them to look for the train that runs over the refrigerators in the dairy section of the market. read more

Huge local market in Brooklyn, all part of the Red Hook areas' revival to make it more of a community. The marketplace is a super "supermarket" and dining plaza all in one. With the option of indoor and outdoor dining, it's Cafe boasts plenty of seating to enjoy their ready made goods (think tacos, salad bar, sushi station, bakery) and freshly made pizza. This visit, I bought two large pizza pies to go. The awesome deal - any large pizza with one topping of choice for $10! Beats making it myself. Their dough is fresh, thin slices but enough to fill up. The pizza pies are made to order so you're not buying what's already out on display. There's about a ten-fifteen minute wait so I order and then shop while I wait. By the way, my first visit here was a few months back and I tried the mushroom truffle pizza by the slice and it was delicious. Anyway, the prices are so reasonable, you can't pass up. As I worked my way through each section of the supermarket, there is an abundance of variety in each section so if you're looking for a specific item, be sure to browse it all as you'll find many surprises in between. For ex: in the aisle of cooking oils and cooking wines, I was looking for sunflower oil but then found tons of other varieties (didn't even know they had that many). Found as well a sweet red cooking wine which I didn't need but wanted to try after seeing it. LOL Besides getting groceries and fruits/veggies, I really wanted to hit up the prepared food section and the cheese station. My go-to purchase has been the crab cakes (it's prepped, not cooked, but oven ready) and the grilled scallops. For the price of buying them by the weight, these are already cooked and refrigerated for sale. Saves a lot of work! Another station I had to buy from was the sushi. One would think supermarket sushi, hmm...dunno. But even at first look, watching the chefs prep back there behind the counter, these were so well prepared. Figured it wouldn't be restaurant quality but for a quick meal, it fits the bill. I managed to score an assorted platter this visit that had sea urchin. Liked it a lot! If I didn't live so far away, I'd come here more often just to buy the cooked food. Who wants to cook everyday anyway?! Besides the prepared meals or prepped meals where you cook at home, seeing the rows of food and it's recipes gave me new ideas on my own cooking ideas when I got home. You know, when you walk around and say, "I can make this myself, don't buy it"... We all do it! Anyway, come to shop or come to eat... It's everything under one roof. You're going to laugh, I came with a friend just to buy Fiji water but walked out with Tea Soda, Lunch and Dinner on the ready and bought my groceries for the week. read more

Most of what you can find in any supermarket and some rare findings here and there. There isn't much sales like most local supermarkets. I love their pastry section. I have gone to wegmans only twice since it opened and for the same reason during the same time of year. They are the only place I know of that sells a certain type of cheese that I want for a macaroni and cheese recipe for holiday cooking (Butterkase for those interested). The first time it was a rush but now I took my time to see what this place offers. By the time I got off the bus to the store, I needed to use the bathroom. Luckily, someone working the pizza counter told me about the bathroom on the second floor. There they also had seating for dining with a separate section for employees to eat. I heard it was closed during COVID but it was nice to see it there especially since they have a food court area and it is away from the hustle and bustle of shopping for groceries. Secondly, this place is big by typical NYC supermarket standards. I came at night so there were things that were out of stock plus it was the holiday season. Since I never go there I have to take the time to acclimate myself. The food area had some of the freshest looking sushi plus the shrimp tempura looked beautiful. Separately they had stations to make your own customized salads and poke bowls. I was impressed by their deli, meat, fish, and basically all things that needed to be refrigerated. Especially the prepared food sections that popped up through out the area. I never thought I would find prepared lobster Mac and cheese but it was there. They also had basically a separate aisle for vegan/vegetarian/healthy foods though some items did appear elsewhere in the store. The general stock items (no refrigeration) were fine. Maybe if I came In the middle of the day, more things would have been stocked. This place is ideal especially for those who can drive. (Big parking space). Though it provides bags which is good for pedestrians, depending on when you come to shop, it can affect your commute. Since wegmans is enclosed by a yard, you have to get out to catch a bus and it is not that lit outside at night. I want to go in the morning for a change read more

I saw 6 customers walking around the store not wearing masks, 2 of those people were even speaking to an employee who never said ANYTHING to them. I saw 2 Wegmans employees not wearing a mask behind the customer service desk. And another 15 customers had their masks down around their neck not covering their mouth or nose. No one is enforcing mask wearing and it is state mandated!! I would never come back here because this is not a safe location. read more

This place would be 5 stars if it were a complete supermarket, but it is not. It's more of an anomaly right at the north edge of Fort Greene, and I appreciate the comprehensive produce, cheese, butcher, and bakery. There are just a few every day items one would need to go to their regular market for. Parking is ok. Security and bathrooms are good The place is mobbed. I'm not going to lie though. When I first walked in, I could have sworn that I heard angels sing and a light shine on their produce and food court section. Get their hamburger. It's worth it. Has a high fat content juicy and flavorful. I'd say a visit here would be for gourmet items like cheeses and mushrooms that I never knew existed, and to satisfy that guilty pleasure if occasionally breaking one's diet. I didn't grow up in Western New York, so I wasn't born into the cult of Wegmans...I married in. This grocery store is a way of life for people from Rochester,* and it should come as no surprise that as a Rochesterian (can that be the right word?) my wife was obscenely excited about this opening. I believe she used the word "complete" to describe herself after walking in. And I can't blame her, because I too have seen the light that is Wegmans. The upsides: 1. It's huge, and they've got everything. Wegmans is like a Whole Foods in the quality and breadth of their selection of produce, seafood, meat, and more. 2. It's more affordable than Whole Foods. Not quite as cheap as Trader Joe's, but the product is often better, and they also carry the brand names you want (Heinz ketchup, Honey Nut Cheerios) as opposed to a proprietary knockoff. 3. The staff is happier, and thus more helpful. There's a reason Wegmans is perennially amongst the best companies to work for. They treat their people well, and it shows. 4. Insane amounts of prepared food, or almost prepared food that's ideal for the folks that don't cook. 5. There are little trains winding their way through this store atop the aisles. I'm not sure why, but I'm not sad about it. 6. Wegmans Garlic Tuscan Bread. 7. Wegmans Triple Cream Brie. 8. Wegmans rotisserie chickens ($5, or $10 for organic). 9. Many more products that you'll grow to love. 10. I'm going to stop at 10, but I could've gone all day. The downsides: 1. It is seriously crowded on Saturdays, because NYC is seriously crowded everywhere you want to be. And Saturday is free sample day, so you really can't blame people. As you navigate the actually wide aisles full of affordable edibles, there will be so many little bites offered that you'll skip lunch. 2. There is no sub shop yet, just pre-prepared sandwiches that aren't the same. 3. It's not across the street from my apartment. Premade food looked ok, but not as appealing as I had hoped. The four piece fried chicken looked really good, so I bought that along with the much touted Tuscan garlic bread, organic cherry tomatoes and two small almond croissants. Yes folks, I exhibited much restraint today. Can't speak to the quality as I haven't tried anything yet but I'm optimistic it will be good. All the staff I interacted with were super friendly and helpful. Update - Fried chicken was delectable with excellent quality meat and the perfect amount of breading. The best fried chicken I've had in a very long time. Almond croissant was up there with the ones you get from a bakery with perfect amount of sliced almonds on top and heavenly almond paste inside. Garlic Tuscan bread was also very good. Not exactly garlicky but very fresh. Important to note that everything I purchased was Wegmans own line. Very impressed here! read more
