There are also modern weapons here as well if you are into those but the majority are older vintage firearms and equipment. In the process of moving to California I had to sell off my beloved Russian made Mosin Nagant. It had all the matching serial numbers and I kept it in excellent condition. Andy gave me a very good price for the firearm and an extra case of ammo that I had laying around for it. Whoever snatched it up is going to get a wonderful piece of history. This gun store is very clean and the owner and others at the store are nice people. As a woman I feel comfortable and welcome in this shop as opposed to many other locations.

If you're thinking of driving for a while to browse, it's not a bad place to go because there are soem decent restaurants nearby and you can make a roadtrip out of your journey. In comparison with Huron Valley Guns, this place is overshadowed by the sheer size and selection, plus, Oakland Tactical lacks a gun range which the facility could use. Since this is a Mom and Pop shop as they say, I'd encourage you to buy local if you're from teh area. I won't be driving so far to support them because I have choices near me but I'm glad I made the trip. Every gun range and store is worth a visit and a purchase to support the small businesses around us which give us choices when we need them. Kudos to the owners for setting up such a nice facility without a major corporate level budget like HVG. I like the personal touch of a small place. I decided to check out this Dunham's location to see what kind of bowling equipment they might have. Upon entering the store, you feel sort of overwhelmed and that feeling doesn't go away anytime soon. It's like there was no thought to the layout of the interior and it's merchandise. I really think they crammed way too much stock into the floor space they had available when the store was built. I asked one of the store workers where the bowling equipment was at, and he told me it's over by the fishing gear. So after looking around the store for 15 minutes, I asked another worker where the bowling section was, and she told me that they don't carry bowling equipment in their store, but if I wanted to checkout the Web site, I could find what I wanted online. Apparently, the workers have no idea what they have inside their own store when it comes to merchandise. Now if your looking for a great deal on University of Michigan swag and shirts they have it. Sadly, there's a small Michigan State athletic wear section just behind it. In all honesty the prices aren't bad at all. With that being said, they had only one cashier on duty, and several people standing in line. Customer service is clearly a low priority at this store location.

Ann Arbor Arms is THE BEST range, store, and training facility for anyone from novice to professional/competitive shooter. It had been YEARS since I had handled a firearm. My biggest apprehension was if I could remember how to be safe from handling to firing to range. I joined A3 as an elite member last year but finally "pulled the trigger" (hehe) and signed up for a Ladies' Night last week. This was the best decision I could have made to reintroduce myself. Ladies' Night was from 5-7pm, with two hours of instruction and walk through before heading down to the range. Not only instruction but conversation, snacks and a safe space for women to ask any questions. A3 provided the sidearms and ammo. Everyone had a great time and was able to fire 12 shots at a target provided. I left with a lot more confidence to visit and expand my skill by leveraging the elite membership. I cannot say enough of how fantastic A3 is for a gun owner. They have tons of specials, sales, events and the membership perks are amazing. This was not my first visit or class but this was the first time I ever fired at this range. Hit me up if you have any questions or want to get a membership. Everything from pistols, suppressors, reloading material and now they even have watches, knives, and clothing. The range staff keeps a close eye on the range and addresses issues to prevent a safety issue. The ranges are temperature controlled and in great working order. They are suitable for pistol or initial rifle setup but you really need an outdoor 100 yard range if you want to dial in for hunting. I have not taken any classes there yet but have heard good things from others. They can take your from the basics to advanced. I see the shooters who have taken classes and it shows.

The ratio of staff to students was 1 to 15 so by the time it was my turn to try it was so late and I was tired, couldn't see straight, and had to hang it up. We had already sat in a classroom for hours. There were two kids in the class who required more attention and the instructor did his best but there were just too many people. A lot of us left before we got to actually try shooting. I heard there used to be a lower staff to student ratio but the corporation got greedy. I'll have find another place to learn. All that time and money (I had to buy the class, rent a weapon, and buy ammo that I now have zero use for) and I've still never shot a gun. So disappointed.
