After 38 years away from home, I finally returned to Michigan. Between an Army career, a Department of War career, and then trying life in Florida--which just was not for me--I finally decided it was time to come home. My wife and I have both been longtime concealed carry permit holders in Colorado, Utah, and Florida. Somewhere along the way, we also became NRA instructors, ran a tactical training company, and even earned titles as competitive Cowboy Action shooters. So, needless to say, we have been around the block a time or two when it comes to concealed carry, firearms training, and instruction from both sides of the classroom. With that said, let me be clear: you will not be disappointed with the concealed carry class at Peacemakers. Brad is a straight shooter, and I can honestly say I have never experienced a concealed carry class like this one--in a very good way. Most concealed carry classes are built almost entirely around the brand-new shooter. They often move at a painfully slow pace: "This is a gun. This is the front of the gun. This is the rear of the gun." Brad does not waste mindless hours on unnecessary minutiae. He teaches what matters, keeps the class moving, and focuses on the information students actually need. Another thing I noticed right away was the complete lack of bravado. In the firearms world, many instructors teach to tell you how great they are, how much they know, and how they basically invented gunpowder. That is not what you get here. Brad teaches with humility. He is confident, knowledgeable, and direct, yet there is no ego in the room. That alone is a rare find in the gun world. Too many instructors use their students as a stage to show off. Brad does not do that. His focus is on teaching, not on performing. I also found Peacemakers' approach to the concealed carry class refreshing and, honestly, a bit novel. Brad's teaching style kept the class grounded and left little room for the usual "know-it-all" behavior that sometimes shows up in firearms courses. He controlled the room well, kept the material on point, and ensured the focus stayed where it belonged. The range portion, in my opinion, was brilliant. The use of 50 rounds was efficient, precise, and well thought out. It moved like a military operation, which I greatly appreciated. I have seen too many classes take a simple 30-round qualification and drag it out until it feels like hot pokers in the eyes. That was not the case here. All in all, this is a good class, taught the right way by the right kind of instructor. If you need to get your concealed carry permit, Peacemakers is the place. Went shooting with my boyfriend for an hour. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Women shoot free on Monday's so we only paid $5 for my boyfriend to shoot and a few bucks for ammo and some rentals. Overall, great place and vibes. Will be back!! read more

I have been here many times and met many of the staff, and the owner Matt. They are all great people, eager to help. The fact they are so easy and helpful with cans and other intimidating items is a huge plus. on two occasions they have not had what I needed, but they they would use their system of contacts to find it for me. Both times I was expecting weeks of wait, both times they called the next day with the part in their hands! This is a very nice place. They have massively enhanced the number of items they have in stock. The range has no problem with long guns and I have enjoyed 2 pistol and 1 ar class. They are way less "objectionable" (Rymes with Ricks) than almost every other shop I have been in. Some people appear to have enjoyed it less than we do. Everyone has an opinion, however the gun World seems chock full of "experts" with an attitude. Buying a can from them in June when the new model comes out. read more

A gun store with a wide selection, but they overcharge for absolutely everything. I go to my local gun store to buy the same ammo for half the price. The range is only suitable for handguns as it's only 25 yards, and they seem to get angry when you are using a long gun. Overall it's better than nothing, but I'd recommend going to an outdoor range where you can actually zero your sights and have much much much more room to unpack your gear and use it. They leave a little edge table and a booth and expect you to unpack your rifle in that small amount of space. Look elsewhere if you can. read more

Don't buy a gun from these guys unless you see it with your own two eyes. I purchased a pistol from them through Gunbroker.com. They listed it as brand new in the box. When I picked it up the magwell had numerous nicks and scratches in it. The cerakote was worn slightly on the front of the slide, frame and around the edges of the magwell. The beaver tail rattled Because it was loose. When I call to discuss this I was blown off and told I should expect the gun to have some damage on it because people have been handling it. I stated that a gun sitting in the display case for months that you've allowed people to insert mags in and scratch the magwell up isn't brand new in the box. That's more like display model or open box. You should have at least disclosed that it had imperfections. He got defensive and said that as long as it wasn't shot, it was brand new in his eyes. We left it at that. Would never buy from them again. read more

Clean, good people, nice lanes, however not good for long guns. No seats in lanes, no sandbags, no good rests, had to free stand to sight in two shotguns. On paper at 25 yards, should be good enough to to git a deer but i can not trust them to reach out at all. Island lake is much better for your long gun needs. read more

Some staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, however, many are rude and have their own ideas of what the rules and laws are there. Private sales and purchases not allowed in or near the store. Prices are high but understandable. They offer bottom blue book gun value for firearms you sell to them. When speaking with one employee another employee will chime in with snide remarks or negative comments. Nice shop but uncomfortable atmosphere. I love this range. They use a rubber pellet trap, so you can shoot bimetal rounds here. A lot of indoor ranges use steel bullet traps so it limits the type of ammo you can use. The employees seem friendly enough. There's a lady there that's a bit standoffish and acts annoyed with customers a lot of times, but I just avoid her now if she's behind the counter when I walk in. Everybody else I've dealt with there has been great, especially Adam and Matt. I've bought several firearms from Peacemakers over the years. You'll never brag to your friends about the awesome deal you got at Peacemakers as their prices are a bit on the high side. I still try to support them and buy at least one or two firearms from them every year, I just can't afford to spend an extra $100+ on every firearm purchase, so I don't make the majority of my gun purchases here. I came in on Halloween and I was the only shooter there. Having the range to myself was nice! The employees are very knowledgable and easy to talk to. They aren't your normal "guy store guys". Buyer beware of return policy. Policy states peacemakers employees reserve the right to refuse the return of any item. even if you bought it the day before and never took it out of your vehicle. Been there twice so far...with many more visits to come! Great staff and GREAT facilities. The two range "rooms" are excellent. We asked how they accommodate people in wheelchairs and we were happy to know that the first and last lanes in each room ( four in total) have their "buttons" lower so they can accommodate easily a person in the wheel chair! Very impressive! Me and my buddy go there every two weeks and we should have at least one more person with us each time!! In short: So far I cannot find anything against the Peacemakers Gun Range... I have been to the range and liked it, place is really nice... Really like the setup and the prices are usually pretty good, and always suggest it as a place to go for a CPL class when I see anyone ask where to go and they have taken my advice.. That is however until my wife came back from her CPL class today. What kind of low life did you have teaching the class today? My wife went with 3 of her friends and there were a lot of other women in the class... So saying things such as "if a guy breaks in to rape you just tell them you have full blown AIDS or crap your pants" or telling stories about how he was upset with a lady and couldn't shoot her but wish he could tie her up and have angry sex with her... Instead of making them feel comfortable shooting in a training atmosphere he made it uncomfortable. If that was my wife's first experience then I would be livid, luckily she knew that's not how all gun owners act and talk. Like I said I've been there and like it, had heard good things about other instructors... But this was low class. read more

I went there for the first time this week and I left with a mixed impression that was not overall positive. It's a well equipped modern indoor range with a well-stocked gun store in the front. A big plus is that they allow rifles on their range, something that most indoor ranges do not do. Now for the single thing that knocked three stars off of my experience: when I went to my car to get something and came back in, Chris (I think that was his name, I may be wrong) stopped me and wanted to "talk to me for a sec," so I set my stuff down and removed my ear protection thinking that he wanted to inspect the ammo I brought in or something. He then proceeded to accuse me of violating range rules because he "thought he saw me do it" half an hour previous. Why he didn't stop and immediately talk to me if he saw something that concerned him -as he did with everyone else at the range- I have no idea. That really bothered me because I was careful to follow all of their rules, and to be accused of violating them on the basis of the guy thinking he saw me do it was extremely irritating. I won't be going back there, which is pretty disappointing because it's a nice range other than a conceited staff member ruining the customer experience with a belligerent attitude. read more

Love, love, love going here. For a female CPL recipient and gun owner, I have to say this place knows how to cater to women. I was initially very intimidated by the whole shooting range scene but the staff could not be more accommodating and helpful. Mark and Adam are especially helpful and do not make me feel stupid for asking a question or asking for tips with my shooting technique. Friday, Jan 16,2015. 3PM First Visit. Very nice range.This indoor range is located behind Grundy's Ace hardware at the northwest corner of Lucy Rd. and Grand river near the railroad overpass over Grand River. I think this range is a little hard to find for someone that doesn't know the area. This was my first visit to this new indoor gun range. I was very impressed. Very friendly employees, not jerks like some other ranges I,ve been too and will never go back to. Plenty of ammo for sale at reasonable prices. Ammo prices just a little bit higher than Walmart white box.but acceptable. Range temp was perfect ,not cold for a winter day when it was 20 outside. I did not have to wear a coat in the range. I was the only shooter in the 15 lane range. The range is very clean and easy to operate the target switch. Ventalation was excellent,no odor of gun powder when rapid firing. Like most ranges I will only go during the week days when it's not crowded. I can't wait to go back and shoot again which will be next week.. I mainly wanted to check the place out today. I'm very happy I did. I no longer have to drive all the way to Southfield or Livonia to shoot my guns. Most indoor ranges don't impress me but this one did. I will be spreading the good word about Peacemakers to all my friends. I want this new business to be here forever.This place really stands out from all the rest. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions.They don't rush you. I am so happy we finally got a new indoor gun range in this area.
