I have recommended Marks Builders to many of my family and friends, and they've all had great things to say too.  Read on if you want the whole story! I had a leak in a wall between two bathrooms, above the kitchen.  Just to set the scene, my wife was pregnant and we had a baby due 3 weeks after the start of the construction.  My kitchen had a dropped ceiling and was original to the 1970s house.  Dustin worked with State Farm (my insurance carrier) to bring the adjuster's repair estimate up to a par. He and his team worked with us to order cabinets early (we were getting custom cabinets so they had a long lead time), then they gutted the kitchen and bathroom, raising the ceiling to 8' (reworking the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical lines in the process).  They pulled up all of the tile in the downstairs while we were out of the house (and in the hospital having the baby).  We asked for a few days at home without construction when we came home, to which they agreed. They worked hard to make sure that the house was ready for cabinets when they would be delivered. The cabinets were delivered without issue and installed the same week, with the trim taking longer than any other single step because they wanted it to look just right - and it paid off! The finishing touches make all the difference! The granite crew came in and did their thing. Like all of Dustin's sub-contractors, they were on time, professional, and courteous. They did their work well, quickly, and cleanly. We opted for granite counters and granite backsplashes, with different edge finishes in different places, corners, etc. to work around. They did it all well. Our kitchen looks fantastic, even a year and a half later. Through the whole 2-month process, Dustin's crew was on-site 4-6 days/week, except when we asked for the break. We made a lot of changes midway through, and Dustin didn't nickel and dime on the little things (moving an outlet, changing from a 2 gang to a 4 gang plug, etc). He was happy to work with my attention to detail (which can frustrate most people I know) and he did it with a smile - his attention to detail was similar. His crew was always fun to have around, and I never once worried about them being in the home, whether I was there or not. They worked hard to make sure we felt safe with them in the house at the start of Covid. All said, I strongly recommend Marks Builders. They're honest, smart, hard-working, and fun people who care about the work they produce and their customers' experience.

It still needed to be completed, so I asked around for a reliable, trustworthy contractor and a neighbor highly recommended Dustin. I even went to their home to checkout his work, and was impressed. He was professional and forthcoming from our very first meeting and that was my experience throughout the process. My bathroom looks amazing now and he finished on time with excellence. Sam Tuttle was hired to do a build out on our metal building to be an Airbnb. In short Sam Tuttle is an con-artist. He mismanaged the funds for the job he was hired to do. He lied about how he spent the funds. He asked for more money when he knew he was going on vacation. Then he asked for the entire amount of the project when his agreement stated "three installments as the project moved forward." He refused to follow our vision. He did things his way and when we asked him for explanations he said he was going to need more money. In a meeting in our home he insulted our guest when they asked him a question. He got into a screaming match at our front door because he didn't want to answer legitimate questions about the concerns we were having. On this same day he walked off the job. Sam said he was a Christian and that he was honest. He was recommended by a close family friend which is why we hired him. There were huge discrepancies about how the money was spent. He told us different amounts on three different occasions which he why we wanted to talk to him. We knew based on the material at the job site and the number of days he worked that there was no way he could have spent all of the first installment. Because Sam walked off the job in anger we asked him for an amount we believed he should return to us. He agreed to this amount in an email and then has refused to pay us. He does not return our emails, he does not return our texts. This is the first time I have ever left a bad review for anyone. In this case, it is the right thing to do. Sam Tuttle is not ethical. He took advantage of me and my 82 year old mother. He lied to us. He mismanaged the funds and walked off the job in anger. I do not suggest you use him for any service. We regret trusting in him and allowing him into our home. Do not use his services. Stay away!!

The quality of his construction skills was top notch and the doors were hung perfectly. As a mom I really enjoyed his people skills with my 5 year old. He made my son laugh several times which was nice, and his assistant is his twenty something son who was also very personable. Very pleasant experience and we will probably use him next on our kitchen remodel project.

Gary took the time to carefully review Golfzon's blueprints, which were very detailed when it came to measurements and angles, but occasionally lacked clarity in certain areas. We reached out to Isaac initially when we were preparing to put our home on the market. We were…read morelooking for a full service company to help us with a variety of repairs, and after reading several good reviews, we emailed for an estimate. Isaac responded immediately and offered to come take a look a couple days later. We had had problems with communication with several other vendors, so this was already a great improvement. He showed up on time and we had a written quote within a week for fence repairs, deck repair and painting, cabinet painting and hardware installation, and a few other small painting/patching jobs. We got 3 other estimates (none of which could do all of the different things I Renovate was able to do) and I Renovate's price was by far the best. The deck and fence work started immediately and were completed in a timely manner and turned out great. Isaac made an effort to stay in communication with us to check in and make sure we were on the same page about the interior work we were waiting to do after we moved out. During and after we moved out, we discovered several other minor repairs that needed to be addressed. Isaac worked with us to accommodate the extra work at a very fair price and stayed until everything we added was completed. He and his team were friendly and professional, and their work was quality. Here's where I Renovate really went above and beyond. While painting cabinets in the kitchen they discovered the water line that connected to the refrigerator was leaking. This has nothing to do with the work they were doing, but instead of just letting us know, Isaac went to Home Depot to try and replace the cap and fix the leak to save us the trouble of having to call a plumber. In the end the line had to be replaced, and we did have a plumber out, but we so appreciated Isaac's efforts to save us time and money. Not to mention, how much damage the leak could have caused had they not noticed it! Isaac's team replaced and painted the dry wall that had to me removed by the plumber, and at the end of the day you couldn't tell there had ever been a problem. I would recommend I Renovate to anyone. They know how to communicate with customers and don't cut corners. They are skilled in a lot of different areas, which eliminates the need to have multiple vendors (which is a huge headache). We plan on having them build an interior wall in our new house to create an office space soon. So glad we found I Renovate!

Jake and Bobbie are meticulous, with great attention to detail and precision. They communicate better than any contractor you'll ever work with, and the quality is the best you'll find. Jake is experienced and skilled in nearly all aspects of construction work. Only thing I had to do was use a licensed electrician to reconfigure the electrical loads and install several new and dedicated circuits in the kitchen area when the area was gutted. Jake even goes an extra mile to do some things out of scope because he is that kind of guy, but if you push him out of scope, then you should reward him appropriately. He is anxious to please and works as if it is his own house. He installed an RO I had ordered in the middle of the kitchen-install and he wasn't going to charge, and he reworked some doors and did some extras here and there to give 100% quality and happiness.
