At 110K miles I've had one every 5K miles.I've paid an average of $40-$60 over its lifetime but.. never $140. There was no quote online or in person I was ever given, I was in no way expecting $140. I told them this at the counter, and they said they quoted other shops around and they're all there. Ok.. uh no. Regardless I'll never be back. No communication, drop off 8am, vehicle was ready at 4:30(not a problem necessarily, but an opportunity for sure).

The manager of the oil change place claimed that my car was old and that it wasn't their fault. I initially took my car to a different shop for a diagnostic, and that shop claimed the oil cooler was broken, and quoted me $3700 to fix it. I was floored by this, because the online quote from the same shop was $500-650. After they refused to budge, I found Ernie's who gave me a far more reasonable quote for the same repair. I had my car towed there, and got a call from Ernie's almost immediately. Imagine my surprise when Ernie's said that whoever had changed my oil had left the o ring off, and that's why it was leaking oil. The first shop had missed this obvious issue, and proceeded to quote me an exorbitant amount for a repair my car didn't need. Ernie's fixed it and I picked my car up the same day. I have had no other problems. Total repair was $16. Unfortunately for Ernie's they now have a customer for life. :) Save your time and come here first. I went to Luke's about a month ago, because I needed to get my transmission flushed. I was…read moreincredibly happy with the service. First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time. I lost no time with Luke's and knew exactly what was happening to my car. Take your car to Luke's if you want incredible service.

I recently had the water pump replaced on my vehicle at Luke's Auto Shop. Unfortunately, shortly…read moreafter the repair, I discovered that a coolant hose clamp associated with the water pump had been left improperly installed. This caused coolant to leak into the engine bay and could have led to much more serious engine damage if it hadn't been caught quickly. A mistake like this is concerning because the cooling system is a critical component, and something as basic as verifying that all hose clamps are properly secured should be part of every final inspection before a vehicle is returned to the customer. That said, I also believe it's important to recognize when a business makes a genuine effort to address a problem. Once the issue was brought to the shop's attention, the service manager handled the situation professionally. While the original workmanship issue should not have occurred, he did what he could to make the situation right by listening to my concerns, arranging for the vehicle to be checked over, and working to restore my confidence in the repair. No repair shop is immune to mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled matters. In this case, the initial repair fell short of the standard I expected, but the service manager's professionalism and willingness to stand behind the work improved what could have been a much worse experience. Overall, I hope the shop strengthens its quality-control procedures to ensure critical items like coolant hose connections are verified before vehicles leave the shop. If they do, I believe they can provide a much more consistently positive customer experience.

Because of that, I'm ABSOLUTELY weary of mechanics because I've been done dirty of ones who don't have the same integrity as my dad. Lots of unnecessary up-selling and repairs unnecessary for a rebuilt salvage title vehicle and TONS of scare tactics to make more money (very common with single women trying to get car repairs) That being said: my experience at Auto Emporium was a breath of fresh air after a ton of bad experiences. I had a general idea what was wrong with my car (difficulty starting/misfiring/stalling). They took detailed notes in what I could provide about the problem and instead of wasting time digging around, they reached back out to me for additional rounds of questions TO REALLY pinpoint what the root problem was. Too many mechanics are too stubborn to reach back out for questions of the owners which can help diagnose problems sooner - it's a huge time waster!! So having their staff with a running list of questions had my car fixed SAME DAY. That timeframe was absolutely insane to me. I love that they also took the time out to itemize EVERYTHING that came up on the inspection and while that did have a price tag, I now have a to-do list of the next repairs coming up so I can save up for them. It's relieving having answers for things that could be problems later. Additionally, since like-items were itemized I could pick and choose the repairs that absolutely needed to be done for this visit. One of my concerns was the hours of operation, but they have a great little lockbox system for car/key dropoffs. So don't let that deter you from using their services! All my in person/text/phone interactions were all great! My car is starting and running beautifully again after them flushing out my transmission system same day (which is a huge relief because I was trying to organize rides for 3am work shifts) That being said, if my dad is still out of commission for the other identified issues, I would totally come back and have them do the repairs.
