I took my son to get various warts removed from his hands. His brother had the same thing years ago and his pediatrician froze them off, took two treatments of liquid nitrogen, no problems. I made an appointment with Dr. Nishigaya requesting the same treatment. Seemed like a nice enough Dr, but proceeded to pull out equipment that looked very old to cut/burn them off because he said it gets to the "root" and the freezing doesn't. My son passed out and he couldn't finish. I was told now there would be a waiting period for Insurance to allow another treatment for the freezing. He left a large whole in his hand where he removed the largest wart. That was 6 months ago and that wart he cut has come back and TRIPPLED in size and added new ones, seeming to me the wart virus was opened and spread. Finally getting an appointment with the Dermatologist, we find cryosurgery (liquid nitrogen) is the only way to treat warts to ensure tissue is destroyed. A waste of a lot of time, money and pain. Absolutely, without hesitation the BEST doctor I've ever had. He is so thoughtful, kind, attentive, and once you are his patient, your whole family is included. I have never had a time when I couldn't get in to see him, and when he says, "I want you to call me in three days to tell me how you are," if you don't call, HE will call YOU! He is serious that he never forgets! LOL! He really cares about his patients. I'm sorry he isn't taking new patients, but hopefully, that will change at some point because it's a shame that more people can't experience a doctor who really is in it because he cares about people and NOT the almighty dollar. By the way, he recommended my gynecologist, Dr. Helen Luong, and if I didn't love him more, recommending this lovely lady, who has steered me through some horrid gynecologic problems, made me adore him even more. Dr. Nishigaya has been my family Dr. Since 1981. He was so kind to my husbands family. He made home visits to check on my farther in-law. My side of the family also changed over to Dr Nishigaya. I called his office after my boyfriend came down with a very bad bad bad case of the flu. He had been in the hospital previously that week due to the same symptoms. I must have called at least 5 doctors and there were no appointments available for a week. He had fevers of 103.5+ and needed to be seen immediately. I called Dr. Nishigaya's office and as soon as I described his symptoms they offered to see him that very same day. His staff was super friendly and caring. I was just talking about Dr. Nishigaya today at lunch with a long time friend. I told her he was the best doctor ever. So nice and caring. Always talks to you in a way that makes you feel comfortable. When my son was young and sick with asthma, Dr Nishigaya was who I took him too. I was always able to get him in to be treated whenever he was sick - which was often. His office staff is the best also. I truly believe he is the last of the great ones.
