I had my trigger finger surgery with Dr. Rubinstein 8 years ago and was a a amazing experience . I lost his contact and need it surgery for my Pinky and went somewhere else where they did not do well , after looking I finally found he's office again and let me tell you he is amazing and very knowledgeable all his staff are very nice and helpful, waiting time was fast comparing at the other place it was 4 hours in the room to be seen. He takes the time to hear you and explains well everything I will not go anywhere else . Appointments are fast with reminders you get treated very well and the doctor performs surgery to the best of his knowledge. Their vm says the PA will get back to them in 24hours. Not true. Not with three vm in three days. Will do anything to not have to admit his promises of getting the insurance co to deliver. Health care is getting more expensive everyday and because of this Doctors are spending less time with each patient due to insurance reimbursements and the like. Brought my daughter to his office and the staff were also professional as well. I had a workman a few years ago and I was sent to him for a pqme exam . he was very biased and he falsely claimed I only worked 12 days for the company I worked for at the time . He even said I didn't even know what level of my back I injured like L5 or L6 I'm not a doctor and I've never been to medical school so I don't know why he expects me to know the different levels of the spine . read more

Not sure what happened to the Dr. Rubinstein I once knew and trusted to operate on me three times previously but he is not the same man or doctor any more. His office is a train wreck now. You can not get through to speak to anyone to schedule appointments, schedule surgeries, speaking to his medical assistant, or anyone for that matter. I was scheduled for a surgery on Monday morning and on Thursday afternoon I got a call saying he was canceling my surgery. Several conflicting stories were given regarding why he was cancelling but there were not enough people scheduled for surgery at the location so he canceled my surgery. After a week or more of attempting to reschedule my surgery. It was scheduled for two months later. Then my pre-operation and post operation appointments rescheduled with a PA; apparently Dr. Rubinstein, is too important to see his own patients before and after surgery. I left a message to speak with him after the previous scheduling debacle, and I never received a return phone call. His office manager told me that he never returns his own phone calls because "he is too busy with surgeries and seeing patients." Well, he won't be seeing this patient ever again, as I have moved on to a doctor, who actually cares about his patients and will see them in the office, return their phone calls, and cares about their health. And finally, having patients wait an hour, an hour and a half, up to two hours for you to come in and see them on a scheduled appointment time is totally disrespectful. Use your time and resources wisely and don't make people wait. read more

Horrible experience all around! Made an appointment with Dr Rubenstein, and instead was given an appointment with a physicians assistant. They seemed uninterested in helping in anyway. They incorrectly billed me and my insurance, leaving me with hundreds of dollars of additional and unnecessary fees. When asked about the fees, they could not give me an answer and claimed it was standard procedure. Front desk told me it was $50 per visit as stated on my PPO insurance. I later find out that was a blatant lie and I am responsible for hundreds of additional dollars. By far the worst experience, unqualified staff, dishonest, business practices, and They never dressed my condition properly. I wind up, going to another orthopaedic surgeon and spending thousands of dollars due to Dr Rubenstein's and his staff lack of care. read more

Dr. Is glamorous and great to talk to. The office packs patients like a slaughter house. I have been there 6 times. Never been seen on time. I take time off work to sit there, they totally think your time is unimportant. After raising a concern of disrespect , the PA saw me. The doctor did not. I think they Billed the insurance as if the doctor saw me. Treatment : The practice suggests surgeries and shots more than required. My first appointment here was two months ago, it took forever to get a call back from the receptionist. Until I called back a 3rd time, and said "I have PPO". Then that seemed to spark interest. She immediately didn't pass me on to the 2nd receptionist, she took my appointment down right then and there. Expect to not have any availability when you call, it's typically about a week out I'd say? Unless of course somebody cancels and there's a spot. Dr. Rubinstein is extremely busy! But that means hes a good doctor. Overall, I was very happy with the Doctor, he seemed personable, but was in and out of the office visits within 3-5 minutes of explanation for my wrist. The first visit I had brought x-rays from my hospital, so he sent me for an MRI at another specialist lab, which I did within two weeks since they were busy also, then had to call again after the MRI to make a follow up appointment with him to see results. When I visited again, the same routine happened like the first time, they told me no copay again, I nodded in agreement, then was in the waiting room the typical 20-30 minutes even though I had an appointment, then i was in the exam room another 30 minutes with my husband also with me since I was extremely sick from the MRI (must have caught something, so he drove me, I was on meds.) That aside, the DR. was in and out of the room again in less than 5 minutes, pretty much just summing up that my wrists tendon likes to move on me, and that my occulus is a tad larger than my other, so it causes a nerve to pinch at certain angles. I just was rest assured my nerve was okay, he did offer to go with surgery, or physical therapy, because this has been a reoccurring issue for me for ~6 years, I am choosing the physical therapy, and am still doing this weekly trying to help get rid of the tightness that gets created somehow. I didn't really want to do surgery, because it might not heal the same when they break the bone to shave it down, not exactly sure on the whole procedure since I was going to try PT first, and see how my journey goes. It took another 30 minutes in the exam room after the DR. left the room-- to get that note written up to see a Physical therapist, the referral paperwork is what I'm referring to that a nurse or assistant writes up not even the DR. I don't know why things take so long here. I understand he's a busy man, but when I see nurses closes doors shut, and not even coming in for 30 minutes-45 minutes the first time, then them just talking in hallways makes me think his staff is extremely relaxed here, with no real drive to help customers be in and out, especially when they're sick, but cant miss the appointment. The billing is another issue, twice I was told no copay, then of course I was billed my portion of $145.00, and now weeks later am being billed an $85 fee for going to a check up, and a nurse giving me a refferral note to a physical therapist? And my deductible is paid off for the year, what the? That's almost as much as the MRI cost me after insurance covered 1600, I was left to pay 95$. This place really knows how to make money is all I'm saying. I don't think a follow up visit and refferal should cost that much, on top of whatever you charged to my insurance. I called my insurance and stated the scenario of this second visit, and am trying to get them to to reduce the 85$ fee that seems abosolutely ridiculous. If the doctor would have spend 45 minutes with me, sure, but since I spend over an hour and a half in waiting TIME with no personnel with me at all, behind a shut door, and less than 5 minutes of doctor time, it just seems like something they're not billing correct over there. I hope they get it together, is all I have to say. I really do like Dr. Rubenstien, you can tell he has your best interest, and he has a very warm heart. He is so wise, and honest, and gives you options. Conclusion, Besides high pricing even with PPO insurance, long wait times to get in, long wait times in an exam room. This Doctor does know his stuff, and is worth seeing if you need a specialist for any orthopedic issue. read more

Best Orthopedic Doctor/ Surgeon in Orange County. You never want to have to go see an Orthopedist, but it you have to go, Dr. Rubinstein is your guy. Sadly, my son is a three time patient (broken arm, broken wrist, broken hand... I guess patterns would indicate a finger should come next? :) ) The doctor is knowledgeable, and does a great job of explaining things to you so you understand what is exactly going on and what to expect in the healing process. He's aggressive and yet not overly so, very well balanced with treatment. His office staff is courteous and helpful and I was especially pleased with his new location which has plenty of free parking. read more

Great doctor and great service! I came here to get a second opinion on my broken arm. For 6 months, the previous doctor had not done anything to help my arm properly heal. Dr. Rubinstein right away took x-rays, called my insurance to schedule a surgery, and immediately sent me home with a cast. In about 6 weeks, my arm and hand were doing much better! The pain had decreased and gained a lot of mobility. I am very thankful that I came to his office for a second opinion. read more

He seemed like a good doctor but VERY QUICK to suggest surgery over any other option. I was looking at the summary report afterwards and wow he wrote the I was made aware of all the risks of the procedure, which I was not! He said it would definitely come back if I didn't do the surgery which on the summary said only 10-15% recurrence rate. I told them I was going to think about it first but they still called me first thing the next morning to schedule my surgery! REALLY?!!! I will be going to someone else that can listen more of my concerns than to quickly advise for surgery and say nothing else works. Be cautious if you go to this guy!! Dr. Rubinstein performed total left shoulder arthroplasty surgery back on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. He did an excellent job of repairing my shoulder. My shoulder is healing quite nicely. If I could give 0 stars I would. He squeezed my daughter's arm because he didn't think it was broken (which it was). The room we were in had medicine sitting out on the counter and the nurse came and drew the meds for other rooms/patients. There was gauze all over the table. They told me to get my daughter an MRI on a Friday night and they would call me Monday with the results, after 10 calls to them they NEVER called back and finally told me I was supposed to make an appointment. They charged me for a wrist brace that my daughter couldn't even wear. When I tried to call to talk to the office manager she wouldn't pick up. To say the least I took my daughter to another Dr who confirmed the broken wrist and put her in a cast within 30 min of seeing her. To top it off after all of this they charged me for a no show. When they have on record that I was not returning. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! He doesn't care about the patients and should be shit down!!!! read more

There are no words to express how happy and pleased we have been with Dr. Rubinstein's care. He did not rush to surgery in treatment of my broken arm which we were very appreciative of. When surgery proved necessary, all went so very well that I call him the Super Star Surgeon! I've had quite a few surgeries...I'm oldish, and this is the fastest I have ever recovered. I am very happy that I went to Doctor Rubinstein. I had a large lump on my right wrist. The pain in my wrist kept getting worst and I had had enough. Doctor Rubinstein knew exactly what I had and explained clearly what my options were. I felt comfortable asking him and his Physician's Assistant, Linda, about any concerns or general questions that I had. I was also able called the office when I had other questions that I thought about later and had them answered by Nurse Jackie. He performed arthroscopic surgery in July on my wrist at Placentia Linda Hospital. In my follow up appointment, he gave me helpful hints on how to stretch out my wrist so it can heal properly without stiffness in the joint. I needed a total shoulder replacement and Doctor Rubinstein did a great job. I just recently had the operation and I am experiencing little pain and the movement of my shoulder is coming along just fine. I was referred to Michael Rubinstein by my cardiologist after suffering a "shredded" tendon in my right wrist. Within a couple weeks, he saw me in the office and had me scheduled for out patient surgery at Placentia Linda Hospital (the most friendly, careful, accommodating hospital I ever seen). He removed a plate and screws from a 2007 injury, which had caused the damage to the tendon, and made appropriate repairs. I've had two follow up visits, each of which were scheduled via the internet. Each time, the follow up appointment was confirmed via the patient portal and were carried out without a hitch. Except the last one. An extremely rude and pushy woman came in to the busy reception area and LOUDLY complained about everything. The young receptionist who assisted her should be praised for her incredible professionalism in the face of such a nasty, complaining loudmouth!!! This receptionist is just a terrific example of the outstanding care that can be expected when Dr. Rubinstein is chosen as your orthopaedic professional. And, YES, I am very satisfied with Dr. Rubenstein's expertise and care! read more

We came across Dr. Michael Rubenstein (Fullerton Ortho) about 4 years ago when our 17-year-old destroyed his shoulder while snowboarding. Dr. R met with us 2 hours after the accident, and delayed his vacation to perform the surgery the next morning, Saturday. After 4 hours, Dr. R had rebuilt the 4 pieces of bone into a whole structure, with a plate and 9 screws. Our son fully recovered, and we were amazed at the bedside manner and expertise of this doctor. Fast forward 3 years, and after my husband suffered a fractured radius/arm, we immediately selected Dr. R to perform the necessary surgery. While in surgery, Dr. R discovered that the head of the radius had been pulverized (hadn't shown up on X-ray). The surgery was extensive, with bone graft, plate, and 13 prongs and screws holding the new creation in place. At one point, Dr. R had to turn the hand 180 degrees to free up all of the tendons from the crushed/damaged area. We have had several learned people look at the results, with characterization of "genius" and "beautiful" for the re-creation of the bone. My husband is now 7 months post surgery, done with specialized therapy, and more understanding of his injury being far beyond a broken arm. We are thankful that Dr. R was available, because his "invent on the fly" and creative approach gave my husband full use of his arm and almost full range of movement. If you saw the in-surgery picture of the pulverized bone, you would be amazed at the result. Dr. R's bedside manner and ability to clearly explain pretty complex information is awesome, and we also enjoyed his Physician's Assistant, Linda, as well as his nurse, Jackie, both of whom were very caring individuals who helped transition my husband from a broken mess back to his high energy lifestyle - my husband plans on returning to triathlons in the very near future, and even penned in a potential future Spartan Race in a year or so...he is 52 years old, which should give everyone a huge confidence level, because if Dr. R can fix an "old guy" like him, then everyone else should be great! read more

This office staff is the MOST inept I've ever experienced!!! I tore ligaments in my elbow 7 weeks agoi!! I needed surgery 6 weeks ago. I've been to his office 4 TIMES and have NEVER met the Dr. His staff is so ridiculously ignorant. 4 times, when I arrived, I was informed they hadn't received an authorization, even though my PMD faxed it to them 4 TIMES!!!! So now I'm waiting for the authorization to see a new Dr, but in the meantime, I have a nerve in my arm being pinched and causing permanent damage. I have NEVER even met the Dr, he may be great, but ignorant. Your Office staff is peoples first impression, the Dr needs to realize this. When I went for an emergency visit last friday, while in excruciating pain, and AGAIN was told "We forgot to get an authorization". So they REFUSED to see me.This is BAD medical care. You NEVER put money before patient care, but this office is straight cold blooded. They want $$$$ and don't care if you are in EXTREME pain. I honestly don't know how this Dr runs his office with imbeciles at the front desk. I wouldn't take my dog there!!! So much for the Hippocratic Oath, huh Doc?? read more
