Both Drs. Chen and Solomon are great physicians. Good people. But before you can see them you must get past the incompetence in the front office. Primarily they don't answer the phone, secondly they very rarely return calls. You might also question their referral list on specialist. read more

I am not commenting on whether the doctor is good or bad in this review, I am only sharing the experience I had there. I went to see the doctor for an annual physical. I didn't need to get anything else done, the staff there seems to be unhappy about that. Then a month later, I got a surprise bill in the mail. After calling my insurance, billing, and then the clinic, I found out that the charge was from a question I asked the doctor. The question costed $150. I looked up the procedure code, and the description says the procedure typically lasts 20-29 minutes. The duration for my appointment was less than 25 minutes, and the time was mostly spent on the annual physical. When I call the clinic, the receptionist claims they post yellow signs on the walls that said the physicals does not include any questions being asked. I would not recommend going to this clinic, if you must, make sure you read all the signs on their walls, or simply don't ask any questions if you don't want a surprise bill. Hope no one else has to go through the experience I had there. Stay healthy and stay away from doctors! read more

My mom constantly has to wait approximately an hour after her scheduled appointment for Dr. Chung to come. This has happened multiple times and I understand if you're running late because you have other patients but she didn't even apologize at all. And trying to get a call returned to is ridiculous. Front desk girl needs to get her attitude checked. read more

Dr. Chung is great! But the facility is awful. They rarely answer the phone. The number they provide to text is useless, I leave multiple voicemails and they never return my calls. The facility is so outdated... looks like it did in the 90s. I only come back here because Dr. Chung makes up for the facility being so awful but I'm sure I will change doctors soon read more

Worst office staff ever!!!! Originally had to call 8 times to even reach someone to make an appointment. Got a bill in the mail for an annual physical- which is covered 100% by my insurance. Called the office 15+ times to question the bill and left voicemails over the course of 4 months before receiving a call back!! I talked to billing and they said I had to talk to the dr office. Leticia from dr office said he didnt come in for a physical, came in for HBP. WELL, my husband isnt a dr- and cant self diagnosis himself- how would he know he had it?! Had to come in as a physical and then discovered HBP. Billing then proceeded to argue and said he should have came back for a physical. No one ever said, we didn't perform your physical- come back for a physical. I told her this is horrible service and communication, and that we would not return. She said "believe me, dr has lots of patients and a bad review or service doesn't matter." Well then, there you go! Come here if you want to be treated this way. read more

We have been going to Dr Chung for a few years, but these last 9 months... I leave voicemails and they never respond. I need to get a blood test, and they won't submit the paperwork. After a couple of months of weekly ignored phone messages (they NEVER answer), I had to go in to the office lobby and just not leave to get a form for a blood test - she wouldn't renew medicine without it, then wouldn't submit it. I've been trying to get a COVID antibody test for 8 months, and she has on multiple occasions been told by me and the lab folks that she is miscoding it, but she keeps resubmitting the same thing that she knows is wrong. I don't ask for much from a doctor, just basic competence. I suspect much of this is staff not answering the phone or relaying messages, but the doctor is ultimately responsible for her staff. Just utterly frustrated. read more

Being a healthcare worker myself, I was disappointed to see lack of use of gloves and hand washing. The MA/Nurse did not use gloves or wash hands in front of us which is a standard practice at all facilities seeing patients especially that it decreases the spread of microbials. I would not be returning to this clinic ever again. The receptionist was ok too. The time it took for the wait for the MA/CNA to help my mom with the procedure was ridiculous. read more

There seems to be a common ground for all the negative reviews and it's about the lack of service. Good luck getting in contact with anyone when you call. No one ever answers the phone, and they are extremely rude when they eventually return your call. You'll also end up with unexpected invoices that should have been properly coded through insurance but rather, they leave you helpless saying they don't know why and they can't help. Please reevaluate your front office staff because their inadequate service and unwillingness to help is turning your existing patients away to find another doctor. read more

Drs are great, but I swear I can't for the life of me get anyone to answer the phone when I call the office. I'd say I have to call about 10 times to get an actual person to answer. Also, it's been 2 weeks since my Dr appointment and going on over a week since I got my blood drawn. I still haven't received any news about my test results. I've been calling and leaving messages for a call back, but they will not even return my calls to give me an update. I wish the staff understood the amount of anxiety a patient feels when waiting for results about his or her health. I also wish they would understand that we wait by the phone for their phone call and jump at every ring hoping it's them with some sort of news. I am sorry to say that I feel as though the staff doesn't care much about their patients and the emotions we feel when dealing with our health. Although I do like the doctors here, I am leaving because I need to be somewhere where I feel the staff cares about their patients. Went to a 'high end' doctor last year with terrible results: unnecessary and expensive tests, holier-than-thou attitude, and all that goes along with it. Decided to try Dr. Chung based on Yelp reviews and what a breath of fresh air! As others have stated, the office is old, even a little shabby. Receptionist wasn't warm, but got the job done. Wait time was average. But once the doctor came in, my experience changed from 'okay' to 'ah, yes.' She's thorough, informative, knowledgeable, pleasant, and took the time to ask about my preferences for labs and made sure they took my insurance. She listened to my health concerns and made sensible recommendations. I'm not one who likes a pill prescribed for every darn thing, and she seems conservative in that regard, unlike my 'high end' doctor who wanted me on every drug whose representative visited his office and gave him free stuff. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Chung and will make her my regular physician. read more

Dr. Chung is fantastic! I have severe trust issues with doctors. Most doctors I have been to either didn't care, were too quick to prescribe a medication, or had horrible manners. None of these are true with Dr. Chung. She listened very intently and explained everything thoroughly. She is by far THE BEST MD I have ever seen. After filling out necessary paperwork, I was back before I knew it. (Not to mention I called in for an appointment that day!) So I went to see Doc. Chung today based on the reviews here and that she is very close to where I work. I could throw a small child from my place of employment to her medical building; that's how close it is. Anyway, she was very thorough and was very professional. Her practice doesn't seem to have a super ton of patients... Yet. So get in while you can. She listens very well and I appreciate that. We aren't doctors so it can be hard to describe symptoms to a doctor and have them take it seriously. She did just that and wrote up a few referrals for me. (I went in for a general checkup) I do recommend her; she's very knowledgeable and well-humored as is her staff. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Shirley Chung for 3 years now so I feel very confident in every aspect of my review. 1. Scheduling - Scheduling is a breeze. I've scheduled appointments days out (non serious) and I've even been seen in the same day. Scheduling is never an issue and the front office is always professional and efficient. 2. Wait time - Waiting is never an issue. I am promptly called in, vital signs are taken and I am shown to a private room where the nurse goes over why I am here and prepares the room and myself depending on the type of visit for the Dr. 3. The doctors (both Dr Chung and her associate) are fantastic. I feel like they really take their time and listen to all my concerns and answer any and all questions I have. 4. I certainly feel that it is most important to feel important to your doctor and Dr Chung really makes me feel like my health and remaining healthy is her top priority. read more

I've always went to a doctor where others referred me. I switched insurance companies and had to switch doctors. I had to find a new doctor and didn't have any referrals. I felt overwhelmed by picking a doctor from a list of people. I picked Dr. Chung and have been very happy with her! Dr. Chung is very thorough. I went to her for a yearly check up and she made sure to go over everything. When she talks to you, you don't feel like she is rushed. She really listens. It is fairly easy to make an appointment and is not overly booked. Her staff follows up with prescriptions and pharmacies. I forgot to get a prescription and the staff completed everything over the phone for me. I got my medication in no time. read more

Maybe the office is selective of their patients and who to be nice to, or all these 5 star reviews are friends and family members. I rarely write reviews but when I do, it's usually really good or really bad. In this case, I have to say my experience with Dr Chung has been horrible. Phone is NEVER answered and it is impossible to schedule appts or speak to anybody. Dr Chung is okay. Staff is what brings this review to a 1.5 star. I had labs completed and never received a phone call back about the results. I called and left voicemails once a day for 4 days without a call back. When I finally called with my wife's phone, they answered... The receptionist said my results were "normal." Well, what's normal about it? She did not know how to interpret the lab results and kept on telling me "I think it means this..." So eventually Dr Chung came and explained my results to me. They weren't able to mail me (physically or electronically) a copy of the results, so I agreed to pick it up. Entering, the red-headed short haired female was silently on the phone. No acknowledgement that I came in or anything. I stood right in the front of the desk and in about 5 minutes, she gets off this quiet phone and just says to me "yes?" Long story short, she copies my lab results and hands them to me without saying a word or looking at me. So I don't say a word also and and proceed to walk out the door, no bye or see you next time or anything. I shouldn't have done this, but I went back and asked her what was wrong. She says "We don't want you as a patient anymore." To be perfectly honest to Yelp readers, I really don't know what I did wrong. I just wanted my lab results read and for a copy of the results. If staff is giving me a hard time for a simple lab result reading and copy, I feel sorry for long time patients. Dr Chung, please please re-evaluate your front office staff... If your staff is telling you otherwise, I'd be happy to speak on the phone about my experience there. read more

Dr. Chung is amazing (great doctor) but it is impossible to get a hold of anyone in the office. And the nurse is OMG rude.. The office work is terrible .I would never get calls about my lab work or issues with my mammogram. It was easier to call the hospital who did the mammogram than to call the office because god alone knows what the receptionist is up to. I'm very torn about this place. I love my doctor (Shirley Chung), but the front office and operations here is just awful. The front office folks are rude and care very little about your "experience". It's also impossible to get anyone on the phone, even to make an appointment! I wish they would improve operations here so the patient experience wasn't so bad. Most importantly I just want to be able to call and speak to someone when making an appointment or call a nurse about things like labs or a Rx. It's a shame because I really like Dr. Chung (one of the better Primary Care Physicians I've had), but the front office and operations almost kills it for me. =( read more

I couldn't even get anyone on the phone to make an appointment or ask questions. The prompt asked me to press 1 to make an appointment, but all that did was cause the greeting menu to be repeated. I pressed 2 instead, but that just gave me a recording of someone with a very annoyed tone asking me to leave a message. Wow, first impressions are everything and this office has failed immediately. Dr. Chung has been my family's doctor for the past three years, and she is great! However, I felt the need to post a review regarding my big disappointment in her staff. Hilda, the front desk person, is very apathetic and disinterested in providing good information as to problem-solving and clarifying situations. And, when confronted about not getting return phone calls from the Doctor's assistant (Maria?) time and again, there is no one in the office who feels very compelled to apologize. I now must decide if I want to continue to keep Dr. Chung as my doctor in Spite of her office staff. They (nurse and office staff) seem to be quick on excuses and not much on taking responsibility when they drop the ball. read more

I just read the March 2012 review by someone named Julia. Maybe she went to some other doctor! I have never seen a scary nurse there in my life, and I have been seeing Dr. Chung for over ten years! There are only two doctors, both female, and neither is rude! If I have a problem, I have NEVER been told the doctor is too busy, they take a message, and she gets back to me. It is a small practice. In my many decades of going to doctors, the only rude ones I have met are male! In fact, she just called me personally about my routine panel results. Doctor Shirley Chung is definitely as good as it gets. I told her that my husband and I were planning on having a baby soon and that we wanted to do whatever we could to make sure we are healthy enough to start trying. She immediately recommended a few things that we should start thinking about and doing in order to prepare. She explained things to me in a very non-scary way where I was able to understand her while also being very comfortable. I am happy to say that she is going to definitely be our "family doctor." read more
