I saw Dr. Engle for several months when my usual GP was out of office. I needed help with managing my blood pressure medications and I was also having some stomach issues. She was usually rushed and pretty disinterested during my appointments, but I stuck it out until my last appointment. I have literally never had a doctor be so blatantly rude to me. She told the nurse she didn't need to see me when I was already in the consultation room. I obviously showed up to my appointment because I had questions. I've never had a doctor try to cancel my appointment when I was already in the room. Then when she did come in she seemed super annoyed at me for even being there. She didn't listen to my concerns at all, then she body shamed me and downright insulted me to my face. It was so weird. I get that she's busy and probably sees a lot of patients, but so do most of the other doctors I've seen and I've never had anyone treat me so inhumanely. Dr. Engle should not be seeing patients if she can't exhibit an ounce of compassion and at least listen to them and treat them like a human being. I would not recommend Dr. Engle to anyone, there are much better and kinder doctors out there. read more

I moved here from the Bay Area three years ago. Finding a new primary care physician was my biggest concern. Thank goodness I lucked out and found Dr. Engle! I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff! I rarely have to wait more than a few minutes for a scheduled appointment and yet when I'm with Dr. Engle, I never feel rushed! She is empathetic, thoughtful, kind, professional, extremely intelligent, and works with me as a partner in my own health care. She is conservative and takes approaches to treatment gradually and thoughtfully but also knows when quick action is called for! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The office is clean and right on Yorba Linda Blvd. From my experience it can be challenging to get an appointment right away, so expect about 2-3 weeks if it's not for a sick visit. As far as Dr. Engle, she is direct and lightening fast. Her bedside manners are disappointing though (in three appointments she's never said hello or even my name). I felt like a product on an assembly line, rather than a patient with an individual health plan. If you're looking for a doctor who will spend more than 2 minutes in the room with you, this is not the place. read more

Let me start by saying that I am NOT a whiner. I generally have to be pretty darn sick to call a doctor. After suffering from a flu for a week, I called Dr. Engle to schedule an appointment to get checked. I ended up getting a faxed-in prescription after speaking with her assistant. I ended up being allergic to the specific antibiotic that she prescribed and had to go to urgent care. Urgent care gave me another type of antibiotics that simply didn't work. Still not feeling well after the 2nd antibiotics and having a hard time breathing, I called Dr. Engle to schedule an appointment. Again, spoke to her assistant and she said to take OTC's for congestion. I repeatedly told her it was NOT congestion and asked if I could schedule an appointment. They said they didn't have anything available for another week. REALLY? Went to urgent care again and told me I had asthma! I knew it wasn't congestion! Due to the asthma meds, I was unable to take OTC's because of drug-interactions. Called the doctor back to let her know about my newfound illness and they put a note in my chart. After 2 1/2 weeks, I was still not feeling well and since I had a prior appointment I decided to talk to her then. Well, she was literally STANDING IN ANOTHER ROOM, relaying through her assistants to fax in ANOTHER prescription! I had had enough! I demanded that they schedule an appointment this week. She had not seen me ONCE, I had been sick for 3 weeks, and she was only concerned about shutting me up and drugging me up! Needless to say, I am getting a new doctor. How completely unprofessional and unethical! So completely dissappointing! The next thing I am going to do is report her to the state medical board. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Engle for about 10 years. I have never had a problem with her or her office. I love that my appointment is often very quick. I think only once I was there for close to an hour. Sometimes I have been in and out of the office in less than 15 minutes. Most every time I go I don't have more than five minute in waiting room and have never waited very long to see the doctor, once I am in patient room. I've been with Dr. Engle for almost a decade and that should be enough for you to know she is badass. She's personable, answers my random questions and has always made herself available. I drive an hour to see her and won't switch doctors. She's reflective of my history and always provides immediate solutions to ensure I'm well taken care of. Let me preface this by saying that I am not a pateint of Dr. Engle. Dr. Doomun is my PCP, however, they are both part of Knoll Medical and their staff is the same. I have already posted about this on Dr. Doomun's page, but since Dr. Engle is the one who threatened to sue me if I shared my experiences on Social Media, I fugured it would be best to include her as well. The staff has NEVER been friendly and has had negative conversations, rather loudly, regarding their patients that I could clearly hear in the waiting room. Most recently, I called them because I needed a referral to a new cardiologist. (We all know how easy it is to get care when you have an HMO...you need a referral for everything!) I was diagnosed with a heart condition when I was a teenager and it seemed to be getting more frequent in the past couple of weeks. The person on the phone told me to immediately go to the ER and that Dr. Doomun refused to see me until I was cleared by them. I clarified to them in a voicemail later that day that I was not currently having an attack, that it was not an emergency situation, and that I did not have to the money to pay for an ER visit and subsequent bills. I received a rude voicemail back from someone in their office saying that I had to go to the ER and that they WOULD NOT see me. I really felt like they weren't listening to me at all and I immediately went online to change my PCP. I faxed them a letter requesting all of my medical records and out a note on the cover sheet stating that I would be sharing my experiences on social media. HERE IS THE BEST PART! The next day, I received a fax from their office with a hand written note and this was the exact wording "If you post your comments on social media we will call our attorneys to sue you for slander. You were sent to the ER due to concerning symptoms of chest pain and shortness of breath. This IS the standard of care." First of all, bravo on the professionalism! Secondly, their note just proves that they were not listening to me at all. My "concerning symptoms" are from a PRE-DIAGNOSED condition and I WAS NOT currently having any of those symptoms. All I needed was a referral to a specialist to have them take a look at my heart and make sure everything was still working the way it should. Lastly, Dr. Engle isn't even my doctor! Why am I getting hand written notes from her threatening to sue me if I post anything about my experiences??? Watch out fellow YELP users! I don't need to go to the Dr. often but when I do I really hate to wait for a Dr in the waiting room for an hour after making sure that I arrived on time. Dr. Engle runs her office on time. When I say on time, that's exactly what I mean. She walks in at your appointment time and does not leave you waiting. She respects your time as much as you respect hers! In addition to that she is a great Dr and very caring. You can make appointments on line, email questions and get you results on line. I know other Drs have the technology, but I've not been to another Dr who runs there office like Dr Engle. I highly recommend Dr Engle she is fabulous!!! read more

I moved over from the England 7 yrs ago with my family and had that grueling task of having to find a new doctor, dentist etc. I came across Roxann as it was near to where we were living at the time. When I met her for the first time I was blown away with how professional she was , I never felt for one minute that she was rushing me and she took an interest in what I had to say. Over the years all my family members have seen her for one thing or another and we can all say that we trust her 100%. ***most important part*** This is the first review I have ever written; I am only writing because when I called to discuss my complaints, Dr. Roxanne had her receptionist hang up on me. First my experience. I sought her treatment in order to see a specialist for a bone spur in my heel that was preventing my training for NFL combine. The specialist I ended up having to go to out of pocket (for timeline reasons not her fault) literally laughed aloud as he heard her recommendations for treatment and said he questioned her basic medical knowledge. But here is the real clincher.***My brother in law who is only 30 came into her office for one whole year displaying signs of thyroid cancer. Roxanne dismissed his signs as 'early aging' and nothing serious despite repeated inquires (he had to see her regularly for another condition). Upon changing insurers his new general practitioner immediately recommended a specialist. He is going for his second major surgery next week; both of which could have been avoided with earlier intervention**** STAY AWAY AND GET A DOCTOR MORE CONCERNED WITH YOUR HEALTH THAN WITH SELLING YOU BOTOX!!! read more

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Engle's for 3 years. Getting appointments has been fairly easy, her nursing assistant is awesome, and Dr. Engle takes the time to answer all questions. I've gone with my daughter and she has also gone to appointments on her own. The front office gal is a bit brusque or blunt, but that shouldn't deter as we all can't be warm and fuzzy. She has efficiently forwarded questions to Dr. Engle on my daughter's behalf and we have received timely callbacks from the nursing assistant. read more

Been going to Dr. Engle for probably about 5 years now. I've been more than pleased with my visits there. Everybody is kind and courteous. The wait time wasn't too long (maybe 10-15 minutes) and once in the room, Dr. Engle has always been quick to see me. She's energetic, listens to my concerns and is sympathetic to them. If I have any questions, she answers them in a thorough way I understand. She gets me in and out very quick, which seeing I'm not a huge fan of the doctor, is much appreciated. I've been seeing Dr. Engle for quite some time now. I never had any issues until my visit today. I was in an accident in the beginning of summer and it landed me in the hospital for 4 days with a Brain injury in ICU. I went in today because I had some really bad scaring on my nose that was part of my injury. Doctor Engle is very pleasant and I never have had issues with her. On the other hand her office staff brought to my attention that not only did I owe them copay for that day but for two additional for missed appointments. On my discharge paper work it stated that I would need to make a follow up appointment to see her. I already had a follow-up with a neurologist and didn't feel there was a need to do a follow up with Dr. Engle since this was a brain injury. So because I didn't make a follow-up appointment I was charged 20.00 copay. I developed an uti after I was discharged from the hospital and my daughter called Dr. Engle to see if she could call in a prescription. Thank goodness she did, but here goes the but, since I didn't call to make a follow-up I was charged and additional $20.00 copay. There notes stated I had two no shows. So if you don't make an appointment it's considered a "no show"! I'm really trying to understand who in Dr. Engle's office makes these rules. It's clearly a rip off to the insurance companies. Todays visit cost me $74.22 for two appointments that weren't even scheduled to begin with because there was no need to and for today's appointment that I did make. Were they got the additional fees of 14.22 is beyond me. I really hope Dr. Engle reads this and is aware of what is going on in her office staff. I was heavily medicated while in the hospital and when I was discharged and I did not make these fake appointments and neither did my children. I hope that Dr. Engle's staff realizes they shouldn't be taking advantage of her patients but most importantly creating fake appointments and billing insurance companies. read more

I usually am not one to write reviews, but I am really frustrated at this point. I just went in yesterday to see Dr. Engle for a problem with my leg. I also woke up with flu like symptoms yesterday. After she had taken a look at my leg, I let her know that my lymph nodes were swollen, my throat hurt, my body ached, and they had just told me i had a fever. She responded with, "oh your probably getting sick". She felt my lymph nodes and never looked at my throat. She wrote me prescriptions for my leg which I was extremely thankful for because I have been in so much pain... and sent me to get my blood taken. while the nurse was taking my blood, I asked her if Dr. Engle was going to prescribe me anything for my throat, and body aches. The nurse said to take advil. I just gave up at that point. Today, I woke up with swollen tonsils, with white puss on them. I called the office immediately hoping Dr. Engle would write me a prescription for it, considering how I had just been in the office the day before for that exact problem. The nurse told me Dr. Engle said I should go to an urgent care because I probably need antibiotics. I told her I do not have money to pay for that again, I was just in there yesterday. I asked her again if she could just have dr. Engle write the prescription. She again told me to go to urgent care care . This whole thing could have been avoided had she looked at my throat yesterday, when I told her it was hurting . Looking through reviews i see that she prescribes medicine over the phone for flu like symptoms. Im just wondering why she couldn't do that for me. She has a busy practice so it's understandable that you'd wait for an appt. but even when I have an issue and schedule an appt for a week out when I get to see her she is always attentive, courteous, caring and a great listener. read more

Dr. Engle has been my and my family's PCP for nearly 20 years and I'm taking the time to write this review because over the years as health care has gone through tremendous changes with managed care, health reform, and technology, Dr. Engle has stayed one step ahead. She has always provided me the BEST CARE. She's never hesitated to refer me or my family to excellent specialists. She's an excellent diagnostician; and she actually sits and spends time to ask "how have you been doing?" The reason I'm spending time with my yelp, is that I know that most people who leave a reviews are people who are dissatisfied. I've NEVER had a bad experience with Dr. Engle. And over the last 2 weeks her entire staff went out of their way to do A LOT of paperwork for me and as usual were no only efficient, but were so nice about it. Dr. Engle, Kristine RN, her front desk office personnel are excellent. Every time I call I know I will be treated well.
