Called last Friday to see if they could see me short notice. Dr Berry was my PCP when he was located in the Ralph's shopping center. I explained to them Friday that lately I've been extremely sick. I confirmed my insurance was okay. I called as soon as they opened Monday morning, just to confirm the time I could come in, and suddenly they don't accept my insurance, and were extremely RUDE. I can into this office for an Annual Physical. Right before the visit excluded, Dr Berry ask if i have any concerns. I casually told him i think i may be developing an allergic reaction to chili peppers. He told me to monitor it and ended the visit. Because of the last minute question Dr. Berry asked and made notes of it, the biller coded my annual physical as a regular medical visit, which is $480 out of pocket. I spoke to the office manage, Autumn, and she said because I answered the doctor's question, the answer was out of scope of the annual physical. I told her that is ridiculous as all doctor ask that question. She was adamant that because I answered and the doctor wrote notes down, my visit is a normal visit, not the annual physical, even though they sent me for bloodwork and colonoscopy referral. Is this Insurance fraud or a scam that medical offices are doing to bill more? Do not answer anything the doctor ask outside of your visit or they will bill you. read more

The Dr is phenomenal. I can't say anything bad about him. Well maybe one thing. His staff is lazy and incompetent and he has yet to realize it. They can't handle prescriptions, they can't handle appointments and they don't want to do anything to help. Find a different office because the laziness and lack of empathy will get you hurt. I would stay clear of this office! The front office staff is clueless and very unprofessional. We have been waiting for over a week to get blood results! Each time we call, we are put on hold multiple times and told repeatedly that SOMEONE will call back. Each time we wait, and no one calls back. Not one person has apologized or admitted their oversight. Today we were told an urgent text was sent to the nurse and that she would call today. Once again, she went home and didn't check her text messages. How can a doctor office run this way? There is zero attention to detail or concern about their patients health! Totally unacceptable. Not one person in the office (have spoken to at least (4) different people) in that office has cared enough to follow through! It is clearly obvious that they lack training, compassion and follow-through! I am new to the area, booked an appointment by phone, gave all of the information about what I wanted done including bloodwork and a physical. I get a confirmation voicemail the Monday before the appointment and when I show up two days later on Wednesday, they informed me that they have called me to cancel the appointment. OK maybe I missed the voicemail but I only ever see a record of confirmation, whatever, I ask if I can see another doctor, they said they don't do that on walk-ins, hi, trying to avoid being a Karen, mention that I did technically have an appointment. They go on to ask me all of the details that I had given by phone for the original appointment and they informed me that a physical wouldn't have been possible that day anyway for some reason. Dr. Berry has been my doctor for 5 years, and I'm bummed to write this review, but people need to be warned. By the way, the good reviews about this office are because of Mimi Matthews and Layla Ayaz - And they haven't haven't worked there in YEARS. The good medical professionals all leave because it's Dr. Berry's office. I'm only 39 y/o now and have been suffering with an issue, a bladder issue, FOR 4 YEARS. For the past 2 years I've had some kind of female reproductive pain that seems to be associated. I've seen Dr. Berry about this several times, and he's very fast to ask me to remove my clothes and exam me... But the paps always come back normal so it's like he just stops there. He's happy with that. And I feel violated because although my symptoms aren't chronic, It's like he doesn't take the situation serious at all, other that giving me an exam. which should be done by a female GYNECOLOGIST. Several years ago I had a transvaginal ultrasounds that have come back... Let's just say abnormal with medical issues. He told me "it's no big deal, don't worry about it" although I still have the bladder issues and pain. Instead of ordering more thorough tests, he really just doesn't care and doesn't take it seriously. I know somethings wrong. I know my body. And I've told him this several times. And then again recently on my yearly physical, he ordered the most basic test - an ultrasound- that won't tell me anything specific to solve the problems. Wth man. Anyone would know I need an MRI and a CT and to see a specialist. This was the last straw though... I just tore my AC joint on Sunday from a onewheel accident. (I separated my shoulder.) I already told the new nurse practitioner, Angela Huusfeldt, who has the X-rays and radiologist's diagnosis... that I'm in an enormous amount of pain not sleeping well and I needed more medication because at first she she prescribed basically Tylenol. And although we talked about other medications including a very basic 800mg ibuprofen for inflammation, she didn't order them. When I got to the pharmacy, she didn't order the meds she talked about. (CVS is awesome, everyone there is so helpful, they help me fix Dr. Berry and his nurses mistakes literally every time... Every time there is some kind of problem.) The nurse practitioner didn't end up giving me any pain medication or ibuprofen, only steroids. A sports medicine orthopedic surgeon told me today that can be good and it can be bad... but I called Dr. Berry's nurse to to ask her to fix the medication problems and she said "we already ordered you some, we're not going to keep ordering you more" and then hung up on me. Wth... The office is like a revolving door for nurse practitioners and nurses. Every time I go in there's a completely new staff. And they're always cute, young girls... Except the same nurse who hung up on me, she's been there a little while but always so unbelievably arrogant and short... I can't remember her name right now but I'm going to find out and edit this review. Anyway, if you care about your health and want someone to take you seriously, this office is NOT the place to go. So disappointed! This is the 3rd time they have cancelled my appointment. I wait to get in, and then they call and cancel at the last minute. The receptionist that called me was extremely rude and would not let me speak. I'm very sick and I only needed an order to get a chest x-ray so I can take it to my Pulmonary specialist. This office refused to give me an order without seeing me first (even though I have been seen within the last 6 months). They cancelled me because the dr is sick, but I'm sick too! They really should have a back up plan for patients like me who suffer from chronic asthma and need to get in. It's not a yearly physical, I'm actually very sick and need the chest X-ray to determine if I have an infection. The receptionist hung up on me cause she could see how upset I was. She didn't want to listen to me and she even suggested that I should go to the ER? I would have gone over the weekend if I didn't have the appointment for today. My deductible for an ER visit is extraordinarily high and I don't want to imagine how expensive a chest x-ray would be. The reason why I made the appointment was to avoid a costly visit to the ER. I understand that dr's are human and they get sick, but this is the 3rd time over the past couple of years that they have cancelled on me hours before my appointment. Knowing my condition, they should have offered to fax me the work order for the chest x-ray or make another dr available to see me today. All I needed was the X-ray order and I would have been done in a matter of minutes. This dr's office uses Dr Berry's name, but he's not there. He hasn't been there for quite some time. This practice has gone way down hill. I've been a patient for 14 years and my family will not be coming back. They just don't have the staff to handle their patient load. Good luck getting any help if you are sick. Like another yelp reviewer stated in a previous review: this place only works if you are scheduling a yearly physical. But don't be surprised if they cancel your appointment! Don't they understand that people arrange their schedules for dr appointments, take off work, etc. They charge the patient if we cancel less than 24 hours before, but what happens if they cancel me 2 hours before? Nothing! I've had to take off work and make arrangements for my kids. Bottom line, I've had it with this practice and I am truly disappointed with their lack of compassion and dedication to their patients. Whoever called me was awful with customer service. Sometimes you need to let the other person on the phone talk, especially when I am the customer and you are calling with upsetting news. I have the right to be upset. This person steamrolled me and when I actually had a chance to explain my situation, she hung up!! Who does that? Someone that shouldn't be working directly with the patients. I'm a business owner and I'd be horrified if one of my employees treated my customers in this way. After many years, I will be finding a new practice. read more

These people don't have the time to treat their patients the right way however the Entire staff has enough time to take a two hour lunch break at the same time. No service from 12 to 2 just an answering service which does no good because they do not return their calls. My son has been in pain for a month with no treatment plan. Long time Doctor sold out his office and dropped his patients. I try to sign up and he's no longer accepting new patients. I then signed up with his fellow doctor in the same office but no one answers the phone. I've been trying to make an appointment for a week and a half. Calling during normal business hours. The company that finally picks up the phone says they're busy and I have to call back to make an appointment. Still to this moment I can't get someone to pick up the phone and schedule an appointment. I'm gone. Not sure why I tried so hard in the first place. One of the things I miss most, having recently moved from OC to NC (yes, North Carolina) is Dr. Berry. He has worked with me for 10 years, getting my meds just right to treat very challenging health problems that most physicians do not want to deal with: Ulcerative colitis, degenerative disc disease, hot flashes, nasal problems/sinus disease, interstitial cystitis, chronic/debilitating pain, fibromyalgia, and depression. Yet, Dr. Berry would never will give up trying to help me feel more comfortable and lead as productive a life as possible under my often unbearable circumstances, with the help of the array of remedies available. And because Dr. Berry stays more well-informed than the average doctor of new treatments available on the market, he will often suggest cutting edge pharmaceuticals, some of which have made enormous improvements in my quality of life. He is brilliant. I now see Dr. Berry when I come into town--about twice a year--but he will work with me as his patient, continuing to monitor/prescribe my regular meds... and eventually he'll be able to do internet visits. I wish there were a high-quality physician, as kind and caring as Dr. Berry in Wilmington, NC. But Dr. Berry is singular in his field. Also, I adore his longstanding nurse, Danielle. They are VERY busy, so it's best to make an appointment rather than try to deal with issues over the phone. I have to chuckle when I read the reviews that state that the doctor takes two-hour lunches. Maybe the front office workers take two-hour lunches & turn off the phones; but Dr. Berry and his nurse definitely don't. How do I know? Because they're with me in the exam room or preparing prescriptions/gathering samples for me when they are supposed to be eating and refueling at 1:30 p.m.--90 minutes after the phones shut down for lunch. Well, the fact that I had to call Maria in prescriptions twice, they then set up a virtual visit for 1:30 on 1/08/21. At 1:20 I receive a call letting me know Angela would call me right back for my appointment. I waited in my car in a parking lot where I had good reception for the call because we have poor reception at work. No one calls me for my appointment. I call at 1:48 and get the answering service. Did I mention that for some very convenient reason, they shut the place down from 12:00-2:00 for lunch?!?! 2 HOURS FOR LUNCH!!! Then the answering service tells me that that well, there is 2 minutes left until their lunch is over. If I want to be next I should just stay on hold. Finally, at 2:00(oddly, right at the time that lunch ends)Angela calls me on FaceTime. As the call starts and she is fixing her hair up into a ponytail, I said, why are you late I was waiting and had to come back to work and I have poor reception here. She replies with, "I'm sorry, what, you broke up there".I asked her again what happened and she said oh, yeah, we had an emergency. Lol...I don't believe that. Now, it's bad enough that making an appointment for Dr Berry is damn near impossible if you need something quick, all they do is try to push you to a virtual appointment, which is basically a money grab. My copay so they can say, "any heart palpitations?" "No." "Ok I'll call in your prescription." Damn...money well spent. And last thing, when you have a face to face and you want to talk to your doctor only, they have someone in the room with a laptop seemingly writing down everything said. I'm and not going to talk about what I want and I don't want to answer honestly as I feel an aura of judgement. I don't want someone in the room with my doctor. Also, I really don't want to pay this worthless copay for today's "visit". What about MY time? Who are you people? You think your patients aren't worth your time and trouble? I have been coming here for several years and it seems this office has had its ups and downs. However, my experience has always been pretty positive. I called yesterday and was given an appointment for today, which worked perfectly fine for me. I was disappointed to learn the Dr I normally see had moved out of state. I was scheduled with Dr. Al-Saleh. The office staff has always been very sweet and professional, today was no exception. Dr. Al-Saleh was very kind, personable and understood what was going on with me. My only complaint is the Dr's seem to come and go pretty quickly. On February 16th I had a call in appointment with Dr. Berry and before anything further I needed lab work done. On February 22nd called in again to inquire about my lab referral and was told it would be taken care of. On the 25th, 9 days later I called back again asking for my lab work referral and was told It was in the mail. Although Dr Berry and the NP Mimi are great , if can never get a sick appointment then what does it even matter. I call first thing in the morning when I'm sick and they give me an appointment (3) three weeks out. They want you to wait 3 weeks when your sick. Then they tell you to go to Urgent Care!!! I understand having to wait for a well appointment. This is just ridiculous. I will be finding a new Doctor that I can actually see when I'm sick. I've been going to Dr. Berry for my annual (with maybe 1 unplanned visit every 2 years) for almost 10 years and my wife has been going to Dr. Ayaz for a couple of years. Everyone at Anaheim Hills Primary Care, including all the medical and office staff, are polite and helpful. Dr. Berry, Mimi and the medical staff especially so. They don't over-prescribe and they ask relevant lifestyle questions. They are not condescending. They understand the importance of diet and exercise. They are all friendly and healthy and appear to practice what they preach. I trust them and am comfortable in this office - what more could you ask for? read more

I have seen Dr. Berry twice related to the same concern. Dr. Berry is a great doctor. He took the time to dig in, request some tests and find the cause of my concern. He wanted me to have a 3rd and final exam to just make sure everything was fine. He really cares. However, it is unfortunate I can't have this final exam due to billing issues. I am part of a medical group, and his office uses an outside billing department. They didn't submit the office visit through my medical group. I was on the phone for two hours while my insurance company, and I (together) first called Dr. Berry's office. The staff didn't want anything to do with it and said call the billing department. We called them and got a "blank stare" (if you can have such a thing over the phone). It seemed that their computer systems wouldn't allow what my insurance company was asking for. Finally, two days later, my insurance company called me and left a voice mail that FCPP would be re-submitting the claim. Months later, it still hasn't been resolved - I had to pay the entire bill myself. I wish I could charge for my time. read more

Given that I've been a type one diabetic for over 25 years, I've seen an awful lot of doctors in several different specialty areas of medicine. I wish I could see Dr. Berry for everything! He is caring, patient, very knowledgeable and progressive. He is always looking for new ways to help me be in better health and new, useful ways to approach my medical issues. It's always wonderful to feel like I'm talking to a friend who knows me well rather than feeling like someone who is forgotten as soon as I walk out the door! His staff is typically pretty courteous, professional and friendly. They know who I am when I come in and often have a kind word to say. The wait time varies depending on how busy he is, but Dr. Berry has made time to see me no matter what- even working though his lunch hour if needed. Can't say enough good things about him! Dr. Jason Berry has now set limitations in this family medical practice. He won't accept any new patients. I recently went up to this office on a Tuesday afternoon to find out about the other physician who is employed in the same practice. During their regular business hours, I did observe the waiting room was empty. For myself this is definitely a red flag. Some of the medical staff working here are rude and act abruptly not really helping patients with their concerns when making an appointment over the telephone. read more

Dr. Berry and his staff are fantastic - I have nothing but good things to say about his practice. About 10 years ago, Dr. Berry detected a heart murmur that I was unaware of that I had. Due to his diligence, and recommendation to a top notch cardiologist, Dr. Stephen Cohen, who then recommended an elite level surgeon at UCLA, Dr. Hillel Laks, a life saving heart surgery was performed. Mimi has been especially wonderful over the years. She is patient, thorough, empathetic, and a valued PA - I recommend Mimi without reservation. Mimi's nurse assistant, Tiffany, is also great. Wanted to add more about this office.... They take two hour lunches...during which time you can't even leave voice mail. But who cares since no one actually calls you back when you do leave voice mail. On top of that, the person handling pre-auths doesn't know how to handle pre-auths when the drug you need is not formulary. You're supposed to call an 800 number...and even though the insurance company told her this, she still did it wrong. But what sucks is, a week goes by and they didn't even bother to check if it went through or I got my medicine. They never follow up on anything. You could be dead in some emergency room and they wouldn't even know or care. read more

I have always found the staff to be professional but funny, even when I crawl into their office they manage to make me smile. I have paid them visits for many reasons but every visit they make me feel important, take the time to explain everything to me, I never feel rushed out the door. I have been going to this INCREDIBLE doctor for 10(ish) years! OMG I LOVE HIM!!!! I'm the epitome of extreme mystery health issues and I have seen doc after doc for years but Dr. Berry hands down is the BEST DOC in the WORLD... he is simply AMAZING! He is that doc that actually really really really cares!!!!!!! I'm there usually once a week and my now my WHOLE family goes to him, my 5 kids & my husband now my sister, friends, ex husbands (their families)... THEY ALL GO! Danielle (his asst) is amazing, she can always make me laugh... frankly their WHOLE staff is. He even calls me to check on me (what doc does that????). I can go on and on... Oh Mimi & Layla are also out of this world incredible too. Front office... you are also incredible, I think Vanessa even knows my voice over the phone before I say my name. He tells me all the time...that he will not stop until he figures out what is wrong with me. I believe him... because I only trust him with my life. Love him to pieces!!!!
