There is no judgement, just a team of healthcare professionals wanting to help you get on-track. It is clear that Dr. Kurtz is there to help you and does not dismiss anything you may be concerned about. I highly recommend this office if you are anxious about going back to a primary care physician, especially if you haven't been to one in a few years.

In the very beginning when he first started and was a brand new doctor, he was awesome. Now he's a total jerk and he has his uneducated office staff and PA running the business. just a few of our most prominent issues: 1. I was extorted by the front office, that he would not see me unless I paid a missed appointment, which I did not schedule. 2. The office refused to treat me, for a raging bladder infection that they tested me for, even though I'm a regular annual patient. I refused to pay the $50 to come BACK to the office the same day, for the RX. 3. His physicians assistant incorrectly diagnosed me as having HPV. And I had to go to another doctor for an incredibly painful procedure, all for nothing. I did not have HPV. 4. In my opinion Kurtz now has a God complex, he didn't used to. ***5. THEY REFUSED TO TREAT ME, AFTER I LEFT MY URINE SAMPLE....UNLESS I PAID WHAT FEELS LIKE A $50 EXTORTION FEE, in order to give me my prescription. When the doctor says they don't hold back care because of an unpaid balance, that is entirely incorrect, and I believe he's lying. His behavior is reprehensible, and he is fully aware of this. Don't say you weren't warned. ....*add the fact that he stands by his uneducated and extremely unprofessional staff, says even more. Do better Dr Kurtz. We ended up going to Dr Annette Bernhut in Orange and she is AWESOME. She cares about you as a person, vs you being the enemy

It was easy to get appointments for me, for some reason (because my husband tried and he couldn't get decent appointments at all, and he has more availability than me). I met with Susan Mammen on my first visit, for evaluation. She was very friendly and thorough, I really appreciated her time and her care. I only saw her for 2 of my visits, however, which was unfortunate. I also saw Wendy Winters for 2 visits, her hands-on technique was incredible and both times I left there feeling more comfortable than when I walked in. Both Susan and Wendy sent me off with great stretches and instructions. I was happy to see both of these PTs. My last 4 appointments were scheduled with Brittany Pham. She is a very sweet girl and gave me some great exercises to do at home. That being said, she was very talkative and most of the sessions were her talking and using her hands to talk so the therapy pressure was either not there or very light. I felt like I got zero therapy or relief under her visits. At the other physical therapy places I've been to, I get quite a bit of hands-on time and assistance with exercises, typical visits are about an hour. Not at St. Jude, here I was in and out in about 15 minutes. The PTs never left my side, which was nice, but I felt like there could have been so much more done to help me out. I did get a couple of valuable stretches to do, so hopefully my shoulder pain will start getting better on it's own. Nice place and very organized, but I don't feel that I received optimal physical therapy.

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I've been to several other locations, and parking is always an issue - not here. Normally, I'd never drive all the way out here, but the specialist I was seeing - came with high recommendations - and so I made the trek out to Yorba Linda, my first time here ever. I was greeted almost immediately after I stepped into the clinic. The front desk/admitting workers are practically right in front of you right when you walk in. The entire clinic is clean, warm, and inviting. The atmosphere seems more like a hotel lobby, than a medical office. I was only able to take a photo of the exterior, since patient privacy applies inside, of course. The MA rooming me literally called me within minutes after I left the front desk for check-in. Wait is very minimal here, which is great - it shows they are respectful of your time. The physician I saw was awesome. Warm, great bedside manner. Answered all my questions, after listening intently. I always try to ensure my first visit with a new physician to be in-person, before opting for telehealth for future visits. That request was accommodated without issue when I scheduled my follow-up.

No patient should walk into a women's wellness exam and leave with over $900 in unexpected bills…read more I went to UCI Health for a routine visit that was categorized as a women's wellness exam. I've done similar routine visits with bloodwork before and only ever paid my standard copay. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Rebecca Sauer casually recommended additional bloodwork since I was already there. Before agreeing, I explicitly asked whether it would be covered under my copay. She told me yes, so I agreed. How does casually recommended bloodwork during a routine visit somehow turn into a $900 bill after I explicitly asked whether it would be covered? Reading through these reviews, it's concerning how many people describe nearly identical experiences involving routine visits turning into unexpectedly massive bills. At a certain point, this stops feeling like isolated billing issues and starts feeling systemic.
