Way finder BEKINS was the WORST moving Company I've ever used, I've used five, or six for short, and 2,000 mile moves. It has jeopardized my health as a result. I paid for their Travel Time from Buffalo, instead of them using their closer office, plus numerous cigarette , breaks, and almost, an hour lunch. I got about Three hours work out of them daily, they wanted to be back before rush hour, they left at 2:00. They said they would be there at 8:30, they came at 10:30, they said they would be there, at 10:30, they came at 8:30. They knew ahead of time, how much work had to be done. Dale did a full assessment ahead of time. They sent 3, then 2, then 1 worker then scrambled at the end. Brian, John, and Andre' were incredibly rude, arrogant, and dismissive, others to I don't know their name. Some of the workers had a water fight in my kitchen, my local worker walked in on them. They soaked my kitchen. They packed all of my cat's food , her Chemo medicine, I had to buy more $100.00. Teresa scraped paint off the front of an oil painting, from the 1800's. They threw fragile valuables off my dresser, into a box , I told them not to touch. Rings, gift cards, other jewelry. Broke many items, or severely damaged them, Broke a leg off, an Antique Chair, broke marble on a marble topped Dresser in half, lost two knobs off, my Antique dresser, chipped , and crack another Antique dresser, chipped off the veneer, Broke two support spokes off of my oak Antique mantel piece, appraised at $1,600. Packed my maps, I needed for my trip, after I told them not to. There must have been mice in the truck, they chewed up the felt, on my side locking antique desk. Andre strutted around declaring my house was "full of garbage, everywhere garbage". I had 4-5 Garbage bags filled with plastic garbage bags , I was using for packing Brian put the wrong stickers on boxes, apt, instead of storage, and visa versa, he also put three stickers on one box. I heard him say under his breath, I hate jobs like this. I have 4 pages of damages, I remember off the top of my head. After we finished packing up the house, Brian said he wasn't picking up my belongings in storage, he left them there, half of my load 600 miles away, from where I live now. He said we'll get them later, never heard from them again. My bill didn't reflect half the load being cancelled. I was told by a law firm there is a specific agency that deals with moving company complaints, also the Attorney General for NY, and the US, plus Consumer's Affairs, what I've written just barely scratches the surface. There were problems on the destination end to. Dale also talked me into an Insurance policy. I wanted a $250 deductible, he talked me into a 1000. Deductible, he said it was $18,000. For a $250. Deductible, I guess he meant $1,800. Or maybe he was misleading on purpose. I rushed to the Library to scan the document, and rushed back. Every time I left the house they stopped working, and took another cigarette break. The head unpacker here, was on the phone the whole time , he directed the unloader, he must have been a coach talking to a recruiter. All sorts of incorrect items were put in the town house, snd visa versa. There were over 100 nick's, gouges, scrapes, dings smudges all up, and down the 10 step stair well. It was freshly painted beefy I had moved in, with new carpeting. One man that broke my marble top, peed all around the toilet, when he used my bathroom. He never asked. They left tape, and drink bottles all over the driveway, at my new Apt, and over 40 cigarette butts, I had to pick up, on my front lawn at my old house. A Horrible Company! I called, and left a message no one ever called me back. I kept my Old phone number for three months. I had called Dale everyday with what was going on. Nothing changed. read more
