First off, we were a little surprised at the price--seemed very fair--not used to seeing that. From the time they quoted my parents they fulfilled every promise exactly as stated and on time. Every person they dealt with was kind, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Once the truck got here I had the pleasure of dealing with several employees at the Tonawanda office. Lisa, Jerry, Kevin and Ed--all incredibly helpful, professional and enthusiastic about their jobs--just a wonderful experience! I did not dread calling, I never had any problem or concern that wasn't handled immediately and satisfactorily. I will be moving in the spring and I will not have to look too far to find movers! I would not hesitate in recommending this company! Moving is stressful, there is no way around that fact, but ABF made this as easy as humanly possible and my entire family really appreciates that!

When I scheduled it I made it admittedly clear that they can't smoke cigarettes or weed while working with my stuff and they didn't listen. My stuff smelled like weed. Which upset me, I specifically stated I didn't want that around my stuff. When it was scheduled they were supposed to be at my home between 8:30-9:30am. Which they weren't, kept getting pushed back and back. They finally showed up at 6:45pm. The packing went ok up until them bouncing my washer, My dryer and freezer down the stairs. When they got to my new home my stuff reaked with the smell of weed. As they are bring in my family air loom dining room table one of the movers using the wrong bit to put in and most likely strip the screw in the table. They also lost the screws to my stand up freezer so I can't put door back on and lost thousands of dollars of food. Not to mention that my house and my garage smells like weed!! Definitely wouldn't recommend or ever use them again!!

Poor communication meant I had to cancel and they did not help me move…read more In November I requested a quote via Yelp for my in-town move. They quoted $175/hr and sent the owner's number. When I called to follow up on 11/24, his voicemail said he receives texts at the number too, I texted and he quoted $195/hr. When I asked him about the disparity he said we could go with the lower rate. In our initial conversation I explained that we were supposed to close on our house December 18th and wanted to move December 19th. I did note that when buying a house there are many moving parts so there was some concern that we might not be able to close/move on time but told him that I'd let him know as soon as I knew for sure and he was fine with that. 12/12, one week before the move I text the owner telling him we're on track to close on time and that I want to confirm we're scheduled for the following Saturday 12/15 I text the owner again and leave a voicemail, no response 12/16 I text the owner and leave a voicemail, my wife also calls and texts, at noon I text that if I don't hear back by 1:00 I'll need to find another company I found another company, still haven't heard a word from him. It's entirely possible that we were on his calendar and he would've shown up on time Saturday and is just terrible with communication, but after going four days without any confirmation, I couldn't risk not having a mover show up. I truly hope everything is ok and that I'm not bashing a business that had a valid reason for ghosting me, but until I hear otherwise from the owner, I can only guess.

They were there at 10:45 am. They were professional and polite, and handled my items with care. I think anyone's biggest concern when moving is that their belongings will get damaged. The crew was a 3 man crew. They asked exactly where I wanted everything to go in my new place. They efficiently put it where I asked. They got the move done in less than two hours and they were on their way. I don't think I could have asked for a better moving experience. I don't plan on moving out of my new apartment anytime soon, but I would definitely recommend A&L movers to anyone who is looking to move. Their professionalism and politeness and willingness to provide great customer service is unprecedented.
